    hi girls

    sorry i've been MIA lately!
jimmy has been sooo sick- i ended up down at the emergency dept at the hospital (angliss) with him all day on tuesday. he has bronchiolitis and is basically not sleeping at all. i was awake all night tues/wed night. i feel sooo crap!!!!!
what a great hospital btw- they were so thorough and the dr even rang me thenext day to check up on him. kinda made me wish i'd had my babies there! lol- i know you did jols, how did you find it?

i had jimmy weighed the other day- he's 7.6kg. i'm not sure if that's average or what? about how much does everyone else weigh?

megie- that moment you described was gorgeous, i love having little moments like that with my babies. gorgeous!

nai-how many teeth does miss J have? wow, i guess it's kinda good to get them out of the way early! lol

hello to everyone else, hope you have a great day!

rainy i hope jimmy gets better soon nothing worse than a sick bubba and a tired mumma, i hope you all got some sleep last night, i have been thinking of you.
i loved the angliss, they were fantastic for the birth and after care, seriously couldnt fault them, had some absolutly awesome midwives!! iv been to emergency too with millie and they were great too!!
pinny can also vouch for me!!
millie weighed 6.97kg the other day

meg i had one of your 'moments' last night too! millie fell asleep on the boob, something she hasnt done sice really really little! was so nice, i didnt want to put her back to bed!!

Pinny - your avvy looks great!

Jols - how did you go at netball? Can you walk today?

Mhami - good luck with the house & book! I hate open for inspections - it must be even harder with a baby to manage as well.

Tarkine - LONG movie!! I probably would have had a nap and missed most of it

OP - Good to hear from you! Have a great time in Cairns - I am sooo jealous! We haven't started solids yet but I do know of people who have had babies drop down the percentiles after starting solids. DD1 didn't but she was always in the 10th-20th percentiles for weight the whole way through and she is still a skinny thing (like her Daddy obviously)

Rainy - How scary! I hope he is on the mend now. Miss J was 5.8kg at 4m so I am guessing she is now about 6.2 - 6.5kg but she is quite little (not as little as DD1 though). Miss J has 2 teeth now - her 2 bottom ones. I can't see any more coming yet but I will be keeping an eye out for them!

Megie - Those moments are just precious. I love looking at Miss J feeding and have her look up at me and smile.

AFM - Miss J started at Childcare yesterday Of course as she isn't taking the bottle I had to keep popping in to BF her every few hours Fortunately CC is a 2 min walk from home. I will be starting to do some swimming teaching soon so she will be going in for a few hours a week while I do that. I am heading off to the beach with 2 girlfriends and their babies this weekend so I won't be around. I am leaving DD1 at home with DP. They said I could bring her but I said no as that would mean I wouldn't get any rest at all and DP would have a lovely holiday which is not the purpose of the weekend at all!!!

AJP - Hope it isn't another cold.

Nai - Hopefully she will start to take the bottle soon. I agree about leaving DD1 at home, otherwise it really isn't a holiday.

Rainy - I really hope he improves soon. I hope there is someone around that can give you a bit of a break.

I am mega tired today. J didn't go to sleep till 10pm last night - What's with that!!?? No day sleep for him if he keeps it up.

Then E woke at 1:30, but resettled on her own, then she woke at 4 for a feed. After her feed, she lay in her cot "singing" for at least half an hour. Then she woke at 6 siging again, I ignored her again, and she went back to sleep till 8:30. J woke at 7 and climbed in with me. So although they really weren't too bad, and I had no crying etc, I am tired as I didn't get more than 3 hours or unbroken sleep at a time.

It's my birthday tomorrow. 33 - I feel like I am about 50 though! I am going to my mums overnight, then Sunday we are going to Sassafras for afternoon tea. Can any Melb girls suggest anywhere nice up there? I now Miss marples, but it is always so crowded.

i live right near sassafras meg. i'm a big fan of a place called 'Ripe' but you'll find that everywhere in sassafras is busy on a sunday unfortunately. it has the best hot chocolates in the hills.
otherwise 'Ranges' at olinda is nice.

    Hi girls,

Sorry a short one from me.

THings have been pretty crap the last few days.

DP and I have been fighting, DD has been really unsettled, she is fighting sleep now all the time, full arching her back in protest and is still feeding lots.

Thinking about doing a formula feed to see how that goes, but soemthing is holding me back. Dont know what it is. I want to do but dont. I vene have a tin of formula. I tried to express yesterday but hate expressing now.

Just feel stressed in general lately. My mum is coming next weekend so looking forward to getting some time with her and hopefuly her visit will make me feel better about things again. Just have 8 days to hang in here until then.

to you all and your babies.

I am going back to work from the beginning of Sept 2 days a week and I am not going to be able to express while i am at work so not sure what DD is going to drink while im there. I have done a bit of reading about formula and it said I should introduce it very slowly though, thats why I was thinking of starting it soon. I want to exclusively bf but not sure how I will be able to.

I dont know what else to do if I cant express. Might need to pop into the bf support group.

ETA- thanks Jols. DP called me this arvo to apologise but you know I am just so tired. Ash feeds do much at night. She'll do 6:30pm, I am now getting her through until 1am (was 10pm last week) then 3am, 5am 7am then during the day she'll have a 10am feed, 1:30pm and a 5pm feed so she is averaging 8 feeds a day still and should be on 6 feed a day I think. How's your hair? Hope you had fun treating yourself

im sure work has tp provide you with the time and place to express whilst at work ali! maybe do some research into it. im glad she took it from a cup though !!
sounds like she doing her good feeds overnight, can you feed her more often, 2.5-3 hours during the day instead of 3.5hrs+??? cluster feed her in the arvo as well, im glad DF aplogised

Maybe I should try that. Thanks for your suggestions.

The prob with work is I am on a time limit. Cant just leave the kids to express. Morning tea is only 15min and because I am only working 2 days a week, I will be on a lunch time duty each day so I will only have 20minutes and I cant express that quickly let alone under pressure.

Might ring the union and see what they say.

do you have a deep freezer??? express now if you do and store it frozen, then maybe just express once a day at home (once you go back to work) to get enough

definatly get more feeds into her during the day!! feed feed feed!!

Ali- I thought too work places had to provide time to express and a place, my boss was great last time told me not to feel guilty if I took time to express and to use her office. Maybe look into hiring electric pump? If it is too much don't feel guilty about a formula feed here or there just remember you need to do whatever you feel comfortable with and make sure work provides help for you to do that.
Hope you get more sleep, like Jols suggested try feeding closer in the day? Is she feeding really well at night or more snack feeding for comfort? Will she take a dummy instead to settle? Having a baby is so hard and very stressful on a relationship. It'll be handy having your mum around sometimes we just need help so we don't run ourselves into the ground.

Meg- The birthday girl! Happy Birthday for tomor! Emily makes noises all night too, after every feed she decides to squeal at the top of her lungs for like half an hour seriously I want to put pillow on her head! Lol, think I need to move her out of my room!

AJP- Hows the hair looking? I so need a cut keep meaning to book in somewhere.

Nai- How will you go with work if she won't drink from bottle? Work between feeds or you working on getting her to take sippy cup or something? Good luck with it. Enjoy the weekend away, will be very nice.

Rainy- How is Jimmy now? On the mend? Hopefully you can both start getting some sleep. What a worry it must've been having him that sick.

Of course Emily decided to have long sleep this morn when I had to take Ash to gymbaroo so had to wake her. She kept me up last night from 3:30 wouldn't settle, think she expects a bottle anytime she wakes up but I am not going to be giving her bottles all night, she already has plenty.

So sweet lately watching the 2 girls interact, Emily suddenly loves Ashleigh, she spends so much time each day laughing at her. Df and I can't even make her laugh as much as Ash can. And having Emily react like that makes Ash want to play with her and be really nice to her, she has been getting Emily toys, patting her tummy when she is upset, so nice to see.
