 Shell, sorry to hear about your FIL :(
AJP, wow you really do have water babes! I think we might start lessons in the summer. A bit concerned about the water drying out his already dry & irritated skin though.
Ali  Hope you have a better night tonight. That's very handy having a student stay - hope they're nice and appreciative! And clean!
Kaz, his breathing is still not ideal but we have found that if he sleeps on his left side, not on his back or on the right, he can breathe quite well and will sleep. I actually tried a dummy again today after giving up on it a while ago, and he fell asleep! This was in the car mind you, so it could have also been the motion and bumpy ride but I'll test it again tonight. L isn't rolling yet either! He did once a few weeks ago and not again since lol. Lazy boys! They'll be mobile before we know it!
Tarkine, lucky that Alex is going well after his needles!
Nai, woohoo on sleeping through! What are J's favourite foods? Yay on becomming a swimming instructor!
Pinny - I keep telling myself that too - that he won't be sleeping with mummy forever!
Heaven, how cute! Woohoo on the rolling! No I haven't got the no-cry sleep book. Might have a look for it tomorrow as I plan to go shopping for L anyway.
So tired, I'll be back for personals...just wanted to pop in and yeah I've been lurking a bit too but just never seem to find the time/energy to post. Having renovations done, all the bathrooms and the kitchen is being ripped out and replaced so lots of banging and that awful noise those power tools make and just mess and dust everywhere. I'm going crazy!
I'm being told to get L vaccinated because the whooping cough thing is getting worse... I still haven't made up my mind and I don't want to jeapordise his health in any way either, but I'm just not comfortable with it  I know the pros and cons, still doesn't make the decision easier!
I'm also beginning to think L is really ready for solids. He watches me eat intently and makes movements with his mouth as if he is chewing - he really wants to eat I think! Yesterday I gave him the smallest amount ever of some homemade eggplant dip off the tip of my finger. He seemed to like it and then thought I was giving him more when I went to pick a booger from his nose lol and was trying to reach for my finger with his mouth. And oh the drool! I felt so mean eating in front of him. My chiro gave me a list of foods to start with - she said to start with the above-ground vegies first, as they are higher in water content and easier to digest, makes the soilds transition a little smoother than bombarding them with heavier foods. Has anyone heard this before?? She said not to give rice cereal as it is too heavy and hard to pass through and was often given as a first food out of "tradition" more than anything else. So confusing! Does this strategy have any merit to it?? :dunno:
Anyway, better go get myself some dinner and eat it away from L!
 my lovely girls. Thank you for all your support.
I am a bit ashamed to admit  it but I just had to let Ash CIO. It wasnt a really loud cry and I gave myslef a time limit of 5min. Well after 3minutes she stopped and I just checked her and she's asleep. I feel like a bad mum but I have no one here to help.
Jols- Is Sophie a water starsign as well?? I know all these little Pisces baies are watre babies. Ash loves her baths so much but dont know how she would go in cold water.
Holly- ASh likes to sleep on her side as well. It is good that is working for L. I couyld have written your exact post about the solids as well. Today I was having some mashed potatoe and DD was watching me and moving her mouth so I put a tiny bit on my finger and she liked it and was all smiles, but thats a below ground vege so not sure if I should give her so much. Interesting about the list you got and what they said about rice cereal.
Shell- I am so sorry to hear about your FIL passing.
Kaz- thanks for your beautiful PM. You are so thoughtful. I will be okay as soon as I get some decent sleep.
Shell - sorry to hear about your FIL passing away. Give DP a  for me.
Nai - four hours wow.. go miss J.. I usually would have told him to go and get me a coffe while he was at it but Gout meant he could barely put any weight on his foot - it was really swollen.
Kaz - LOL about DP already signing J up for bowling for Australia!
Ali - way to go with WW.
... going to read the next page and will edit this post...
AJP - I have heard of Sue Deland's work on salytics in food (sorry my spelling sux tonite)
AFM - wah!! Alex is really clingy and has got the bug that I've got... poor kid. Had one of those days - Got a nail in a car tyre, bubs didn't want to be put down all day, DH wanted to be dropped off at work coz he couldn't walk, and I was feeling worse than crap.. DH is now retaining fluid, which could mean that his kidney isn't working - off to the dr again tomorrow morning...DH asked me what would happen if worst case scenario, he had to go into hospital - then I'd be holding the fort, back to working FT, bubs in childcare etc.... Can't remember who mentioned it, but yeah I do EVERYTHING around the place (occassionally DH will do a load of washing, or put the wheeli bins out)...I'm flying the white flag at the moment. I surrender.. no more... Stop the world I wanna get off!! I've had enough!!
Shell - I sent you an sms xxx
Tarkine - sounds like you are having a hard time. I hope it improves soon.
ali - Don't be upset about letting her CIO for 5 mins. I do leave E to grizzle, never howl, but it does work as she settles down. She has now pretty much learnt that going into the cot means bed time. Although saying that, I can hear hear moving around in there at the moment. Hoping that it doesn't turn into tears.
I have not heard about eating above ground vegetables. Hmmm. Not sure.
Nai - 4 hours! I had a hair cut and colour today. It only took an hour and a half.
Kaz - I am glad that it was nothing serious with his arm.
We still all have colds here, and hoping that we are better bby the Christening on Sunday. Just getting things prepared. Off to the playgym with J in the morning, nothing else exciting.
holly its tough all this vax stuff  you do whats right for you, remember that whooping couch vax comes with tetneus in it too! glad L sleeps better on one side!!
ali hun please dont feel bad, i did CC with sophie and regret it :( taking a step back for a few minutes it totally ok and very normal, youd rather do that than loose it  i hope missy sleeps better for you tonight
i think sophie is a water sign..will check.. where we swim is very warm the air temp is around 3o degress and the pool i like a warm bath!
tarkine  hun i hope DH gout gets better and the kidneys behave themselves, i hope it doesnt mean you have to go back to work.
did you mean sue Dengate?? shes doing a talk down here next month i might go to!
meg i hope the colds dissapear soon!
will read last page better and update...
kaz lol about J bowling for oz!! he'll be moving before you know it!!
sara yay for rolling back to tummy!! millie found her feet this week too!
Shell  Sorry to hear about your FIL - it's always hard when a loved one passes away even if they are no longer in pain. I hope your DF is coping ok.
Tarkine - I hope your DH's kidneys are not the problem and that he improves soon.
Holly - poor you with the renovations. How are you dealing with the lack of bathroom and kitchen?
Miss J has had pumpkin, sweet potato, potato, pear and apple. She loves everything except potato. I think it's too starchy and bland. She doesn't even like it in a mix with the others. She doesn't mind the rice cereal and she has it for breakfast mixed with pear so that it doesn't bind her up too much. She seems to love pumpkin though so I think that and pear are her faves at the moment. I'm really waiting for the day when DD1 starts just "sharing" her food - hopefully Miss J will have been exposed as much as possible to most food before that happens.
We have to be a bit more careful as to how we introduce foods as DD1 has a peanut allergy and had an egg allergy up until she was almost 3 when she grew out of it. So any high allergen foods will be introduced a bit later than normal and she will get tested for peanut allergy before she even tries them.
nai sounds like miss J is loving solids!! potato has afunny texture too!!
they say not to introduce nuts till after 3 if there is a family history!
me again  just going to talk to myself!!
offf for dinner with my mothers group tonight, cant wait!! weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee kid free!
Yay Jols - sounds great!
I went to a jewellery party last night but 1 hour in and 1 glass of bubbles I got called home by DP as he couldn't re-settle Miss J. Grrrrr!!! She doesn't need a feed or anything but he can't do it. So I get home and she's ASLEEP! She did wake 30 mins later and I just cradled her and rocked her and she went off without a fuss and slept through til 6.30 this morning. I have now told him that during the week he has to resettle her while I am here so that she will settle for him when I am not. I have been out 3 times in the last month where I have had to come home early because of this issue - I am over it :(
Nai - that is really unfair. I know my DH would never call, he would just soilder on, on his own and perservere with resettling.
I agree. Get him to do it while you are at home, so that he doesn't just call you, and learns himself.
Have a nice dinner out tonight AJP.
I am off to do grocery shop in a min to get everything for the Christening on Sunday.
I still feel like such a fat blob. I was asked by some guy at the train station if I was pregnant again. I just laughed it off, but I must look pretty fat for him to ask if I had another on the way so soon.
Thanks girls for the kind words. Df is doing ok, drowning his sorrows tonight. Funeral is going to be on Tues.
Meg- thats terrible. Have you found its so much harder this time round getting your body back to normal? Its like each child has added extra rolls and inches. So tell tha guy at the station that you've had 2 kids and whats hsi excuse?
Nai- Next time don't answer the phone, lol, if its emergency he'll leave a message.
Tarkine- how did your hubbys appt go?
Ali- don't feel bad, sometimes itys better to just put them down and walk away, I've done that plenty times, esp with Ash who used to scream and scream before every sleep so was often leaving her in the cot and shutting the door for 10mins.
Holly- I hadn't heard that before but when you explain it it does make sense.
I tried Emily on rice cereal yesterday, no probs with swallowing but she hated it, made such a face and after 3 little tatses clamped her mouth shut, might try vegies/ fruit over weekend instead.
Meg - I would have said about the 2 kids comments.. I do wonder why some poeple have to announce their bigotted views in such a way.
Nai - u train DP up!! Its good to have time out.
Shell - Alex doesn't like rice cereal anyway.. tastes terrible... He loves bananas
ahh who knows with medical stuff how things are going... more BT more urine samples.. I'm really over it.. I just wish DH would get off his butt.. but I can tell you one thing - Alex is going to do some women proud, he's going to be uber domesticated!!
Hi Guys I'm still here, just have been interupted every time I go to post..
Will be back soon to do personals, L just waking up from his sleep.
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. The weather is lovely today we have spent nearly all day out in the backyard.
E was awake for 4 hours last night 2am to 6am. "singing" in her room. At least she wasn't crying.
Ah Meg  You must be tired!
Hi girls!
Ali, are you finding that Ash stays on her side throughout her sleeps or does she roll a bit? L sometimes rolls onto his back. We have these bolster thingys on either side of him that keep him in place!
Tarkine  I wish men did more around the house for all of our sakes! Hope Alex is on the mend and the bug was short-lived.
Megie, how are you all feeling? How rude of that man to comment! Have a great time tomorrow - hope E is an angel, in the very least, she'll look like one!
AJP, how did the dinner go??
Nai, we are lucky that we have 3 bathrooms so it's not a problem, it's just the dust (a wall had to be knocked down to extend). They are doing one bathroom at a time and then the kitchen. No idea what we'll do without a kitchen in the meantime! It's my mum's place, and I've been helping her choose the tiles, bath, toilets, basins, taps, cabinets, stonetops OMGoodness - I am glad it's her house and not mine, as I don't know how I'd go making all the decisions lol. Wow, sounds like Miss J is really into her solids! I think I'm going to have to do what you're doing and get my DP to settle L while I'm home as well. I don't leave L with him often, but when I do I often get a desperate phone call to come home as well! In fact he just called me then. He has taken L to see family about 10 mins away. He just called to tell me L is really upset and screaming and he doesn't know what to do. WHAT AM I MEANT TO DO FROM HERE! He said "don't worry, I'll just put him in the car and he can just scream all the way home"...umm yeah you'll have to!
Shell, lol at Em clamping her mouth shut! Hope she picks some favourites and makes it a little easier for you!
Hi Pinny, Kaz, Heaven, Rainforest, Det, OP and anyone else I missed! :hello:
AFM, just waiting for DP to get home with L screaming! I'm so unmotivated...there's study to be done, cleaning to do, load of washing to be put on, bath to be emptied, dinner to be decided upon and ordered (lol), a pooey nappy to be rinsed  EEK!!
Can't be bothered!
Have a good night all xox
Hi ALL,
AJP- hope you had a great night out, I sooo need to do that..
Holly- Hope you found some motivation last night pmsl about the dinner ordering comment... I can relate...
Shell- So sorry to hear about FIL, must be such as hard time for you & the family at the moment. Big hug
Meg- How rude of some people, I've been asked the same thing between DD and DS and I just " No just Fat thanks"" That really shut her up & this woman was HUGE herself..
Nai- I hope DH takes notes in settling boot camp.. my Dh isn't as good with L as he was with DD. Think the novelaty has worn off this time round.
We are good just about o go out for a coffee with my mum as my DH works Sundays. L is being good, I do think some teeth may be moving around down there though. I'm also waiting for a pooh explosion been a few days, of course it is always when we are going out..L is giving great cuddles at the moment, so cute..
Hi to everyone else
