meg i think they should hang out!! hoping once the cold goes so will the night waking!!
nai nah too far!!!! plus its hilly here and seriously couldnt muster the energy! still waking for missy to wake, she sleeps so well when sophie isnt here
Meg, nah I won't be coming. To be honest I didn't realise it was this week! Just too hard to get out of the house at the moment, wish I had the energy though and L was more settled
At least J settles sleeping with the pooch!
AJP, have a good time at MG. Hope the outing lifts your spirits!
Nai, eek, early teether! L is drooling a lot too, plus rosy cheeks so I'm not sure if he's getting them either...will have a feel of his gums later!
Kaz, wow what a poop machine you have there! L has started doing more curdy poos lately, after doing the runny, pumpkin-soup-like ones. Not sure what it all means. He usually has one pooey nappy a day, sometimes 2 and sometimes one every second day!
Ali, we are demand feeding, so whenever he wants it. Usually pretty close to 2.5hourly day & night. Wish I could get a decent block of sleep! And give DP a slap from me for the insensitive comment! You are doing a beautiful job nursing your baby, he's probably jealous because he can't!
Tarkine, I feel boring too. And like I have nothing in common with my friends anymore Doesn't help that I'm still invited out but I never have time/energy/sanity to go.
Gotta go, L is screaming in his swing. Between the screams and the bloody swing music I'm going crazy!
Isabel is back to not sleeping at night longer than 2 hrs, if I am lucky. Friday night was a shocker, she was fighting sleep all night and I felt like I was up and down all night. I think I might have been. Sat night was much the same and last night I have no idea because I was so tired I don't even know what time I got up, she cried, I got up.
Tried to get DH to help on Fri and he cracked it after getting up twice so that was useless.
So tired. The sleep school are calling me tomorrow so it'll be interesting to see what they think.
I feel like every time it gets better, it gets worse again. Its starting to affect my and DH's relationship too.
all cruzing here- just not sleeping much as so much on- finally finished 2007 tax last nite at 4.30am phew- now just gotta do paperwork tonite
oh sleep- i will get some when i die lol
lol a kaz and her pooper machine- what a man! Levi will only poop when he has a clean nappy on - fussy bugger- every time he does my DH threatens to deduct 30 cents from his bank account lol
nai- i hear you on the teething- levi has been teething for weeks now- its driving us nuts lol - although when he fed tonite something hard was biting me- cant see it through yet-but it must be close!!!
Boof still not going down till around 11pmish but then he usually stays down till at least after 6ish, sometimes 7ish so that aint too bad.
off for our 4 month vac tommorow- was due 3 weeks ago but oops havent done them till now- ah well
had to go into work today for a bit- blah i dont miss it at all but the place was falling apart without me so i had to go and get them back on track AGAIN!!!
man why cant people just follow systems!!!
Hi All,
So sorry I have not been wrting the past few days,
I had a bad afternnon on Saturday and that put me in a bad mood so went to bed early after a glass of wine and yesterday I had a friend over from Perth who was flying back that night.
Jols- Hugs to you, can sympathise with you about Sophie, glad your mum was able to take her for you. Let me know if you ever want to meet up for a coffee or walk. We could even take the older girls to the park, alothough weather is so cold at the moment. Big
Det- Wow with Levi getting teeth too!! My DD didn't get teeth till she was 10 months so I forgot they can get them so early, must be hard does he seem to be in pain??
Ocean- Poor girl with the sleep must be so hard!! I Hope the sleep school gets in contact with you soon, my sister had great results with her sleep school. They even did a follow up visit at home. Think it cost to have the home visit but my sis didn't care about the $$$ all she wanted was some sleep.
Sorry be back later to finish personals. DD just got up & snuck into study, saying I'm hungry my tummy is wiggling i need some icecream Don't think that will be haapening.
Great now Lewis has started crying too. There goes my me time!!!
OP- Big hugs, I really hope sleep school can give you some help over the phone and even maybe book you in for visit. You can't keep going that way, it sucks Dh couldn't help you more, sometimes if you're like me you feel guilty for asking them to help when they should just offer. Once things with bubs settle so too should the relationship, its so hard on a couple when a baby is thrown in, esp when its an unsettled bubba.
Holly- Big hugs to you too, so much going on for you at the moment, hope you have a great support network irl to help you thru each day.
Meg- you need our rules, seeing as I get up to Emily, df has to get up to Ash if she wakes.
Ali- we roughly feed 3hrly day and night!
I'm starting to ween Emily off the boob and onto bottles, I'm just not enjoying breast feeding this time round, its funny I fed Ash for 15 months and was sad when she weened but this time I'm just not enjoying it and ready to give it up. I plan to still BF overnight for her comfort if she wants but otherwise bottles. At moment we are on 3 bottles and 5 BF's. So just cutting down bit by bit.
Well i had to talk Abbey into having a banana and not icecream, both kids back in bed now!! Hopefully get a few hours before DS wakes for his first night snack, i'm calling them snacks coz he seems to just feed for a little then fall asleep, Comfort I'm, thinking but then it is usually 4 hours inbetween, not sure what tactics to use, i do try to put the dummy in to see if he will go back but this usually makes him get even more unsettled. Might ask DH to do a couple of resettles tonight to see if DS can last a little longer over night, He is a good baby during day so shouldn't complain!!!
Jols hope you enjoyed your ice magic and ice cram I love that stuff, we have it in our pantry too, but I had Apple crumble earlier so might be pushing it to have two desserts.
Nai- Good Luck with the weight watchers, I've just finished a excercise program that was run through the hospital it went for 8 weeks and during that time I lost 11cm off my waist!! So happy coz i've been eating lots of tim tams with coffee in the afternoon!! I just crave sweet things after I have babies not sure why, coz normally I'm a cheese and biscuits type of girl.
Going to go to bed and try to catch some ZZZZ before snack time!! See you all tomorrow
lol you girls inspired me- just had a drumstick ice-cream
and i still havent started paperwork- still doing the domestix!
grrr levi still not settled- here we go again!!!

we had a good sleep night !!!!
started bad but ended good...
i went and bought a vaporiser and cough medicine last night for sophie, after she was in bed and asleep, at around 10.15pm we decided to sneak the vaporiser into her room, well we got sprung!!! we heard her stirring so quickly turned the torch off and stayed still for a few minutes thinking she had resettled, turned the torch on the see her sitting up watching us!! was soo funny.."what you doing mummy" sprung!!! so that ment sophie was awake for the next 30 mins calling out which woke millie, so i feed her. she woke at 1.30 and when i went in she was sucking her thumb so i left to see if shed go back to sleep adn she did!! and is still asleep now !! also gave sophie some cough mixture which i dont normally do and she slepty all night too!!!!!!! i got 3.5hrs then 5.5 hrs uninterupted!!!!!!
I am in desperate need of a good night sleep!
She had few good nights last week and been crap since, she just seems to wake alot and is grizzly then wakes more and it becomes crying and wants the dummy but then thrashes around alot so dummy falls out and I keep having to replace it. PITA! If she didn't thrash about everywhere it would stay in. I don't know what to do, I'll cuddle her see if its wind but its just her I feel. In the day she is a different person, happy, still only sleeps 40mins at a time but is happy, nighttime, grumpy, seems miserable. she seems to wake like every 1.5hrs, thank god she is in bed next to me!
AJP- I was laughing at you getting 'busted' she prolly thought it was playtime or something! Thats great on the sleep, you so needed it!
Det- ooh are those the drumstix on sale? Don't worry when Df saw 3 boxes for $12 he went out and bought 6 boxes, our freezer full of ice-creams!
Pinny- how did the resettles go last night? I'm looking forward to longer stretches.
Crap night here too. In fact, one of the worst. L was screaming for ages, everytime he did a fart he would scream. Why does it hurt him?!?!?! I don't understand He was so full of wind last night. The only thing I ate different to usual was icecream! (Which we all seemed to indulge in yesterday!) His nose also prevented him from having a good sleep, so once the screaming stopped it was the restless wriggling about, snorting and whinging. He was really trying to suck in the air - he just won't use his mouth! So glad it's DP's days off tomorrow and Thursday so I have some help tonight!
AJP, lol at getting sprung! How did the vapouriser go? I'm still planning on getting one, yet to act upon it (typical procrastinator here).
Shell Ikwym about them getting worked up. Sometimes when L stirs I just pat him and hope he resettles but more often than not he gets more worked up! Other times I just pick him up straight away to try and prevent him getting worked up and hope I can quickly just settle him back to sleep, but then he usually just looks around wide-eyed and it's party time! Your damned if you do, damned if you don't!
Pinny-mum, that's great that the hospital has an exercise program! Congrats on the weight loss. After gaining 20kgs with L, I've only got 3kgs to lose until I'm back to pre-pregnancy weight - woohoo! I don't get it though...the weight's gone done, however my jeans still don't fit!
Det, yay on finishing your tax! Hope you got some sleep last night.
OP I REALLY sympathise with you re sleep. I hope the sleep school is of some assistance. I was so fed up the other night that I ended up taking L to emergency. I told them I couldn't handle another sleepless night - fat lot of good it did though, they couldn't do anything! My DP is useless during the nights too - he starts work at 3:30am. Sometimes I think it is easier to just try and stay up the whole night and keep myself busy rather than try and sleep, as I'm always going to be woken up too soon anyway. I have some really bad nights where L just screams and cries inconsolably and there's nothing I can do but hold him, so I end up crying too! I know the reasons for L being kept awake though so I guess it makes it a little easier knowing what the problem is, even though I can't do anything about it I really hope you get some help from the sleep school. Your DH should have the job of settling her on his days off so you can at least get some decent sleep a couple of nights a week. We try and do it here, but DP (not his fault I guess) is such a sound sleeper he never wakes up until L is SCREAMING and by then I'm awake and changing the nappy or whatever Anyway, in regards to being unsettled/colicy babies, I've been told around 4 months things should start looking up - I hope it's true! Hang in there
Better go have some brekky and shower while L is (suprisingly!) asleep! I don't think he has EVER slept at this time of the morning before, so he must be exhausted poor fella.
Holly - I wonder if L is reacting to lactose? Have you tried going dairy free for a while and see how he goes?
Jols - LOL at getting sprung! When we go into DD1's room DP has to do it as she wakes if I go in there - I think she can sense me or something. Great you got a good night sleep.
Shell - hopefully you will get a better sleep soon. It's so hard dealing with a baby and a toddler when you are sleep deprived
Nai, that's a good idea, I think I'll cut out dairy - shouldn't be too hard as I was vegan before falling pregnant! He's still asleep...I really have to get off the computer and do something lol.
Jols, LMAO about Sophie, It would have been so funny.
Holly- Fantastic effort with the weight loss, I actually weigh lees now than what I was prior to having DS but my body has changed shape dramatically since having kids.
Shell- The resettling went well, I fed him at 10pm before going to bed he woke at 1am for feed then woke again at 4am, DH got up rewrapped and gave him his dummy & he went back to sleep till 7am!!!! Great effort, very happy..
Det- Sorry about the icecream, think Abbey got everyone craving them last night
It's so cold here, just went to let the chooks out & my hands are freezing, wish yesterdays sun would come back.
AJP - the vapourisers are great. But James wakes and gets upset and he doesn't like the noise. He woke at 3:30 amd 5:30 last night, but slept in till 8:30.
Emilia woke at 7am, and it still in bed now!!
Shell - Sleep deprivation is a killer hey?
Det - What can I say? I wish I could survive on as much sleep as you can.
PM - that is so funny about the ice cream.
OP - I reeally hope you can get some good sleep soon.
AFM - Stuck at home as DH has the car and it is just so cold and foggy here today. J is meant to be at childcare, but as E is still asleep, he will go when she wakes. I can see the FDC house from our house but I can't leave E home alone!!
ETA - A whole lot of us posted at once.
PM - Glad your night wnt well.
Holly -Hun - You must be so tired. Han in there.
