Hi girls, having a bad day here with my oldest girls. Both driving me mad and it is times like this that I wish I lived close to my parents or sisters! I am hoping that they are better behaved this afternoon as I am at my wits end with them.

Taking my oldest daughter and Luka for immunisations tonight, wish me luck!

Luka went down at 10 last night after feeding at 9 and slept through until 5 this morning. Both my dh and I feel human! We are hoping this is the start of his sleep through's, DD1 started at 6 weeks and DD2 around 4 months. So if he manages at 8 weeks we will be very happy!

Cole - Girls night sounds great. DH and I went out for dinner with just Luka saturday night and that was really nice. He slept the whole time, so we actually sat and talked without having to feed the older kids or get them to behave! Then we come home and opened a bottle of champas and sat with candles on for earth hour just talking. The house was sooooo quiet!

Emma - the sleep over sounds great! My girls went but they are 4 and 2 and a half to their grandparents (inlaws). It took me until 2 years old to let either of the girls go for a sleepover, I am such a sook! Not ready to send DS off yet, maybe if he was going to my parents? But dh's parents, no no no. They are the type that wanted to give DD1 whipped cream at 4 months old and icecream. So that worries me!

Anyway .. better go. Wanted to do some baking this afternoon since it is nice and rainy weather. Loving it!

    to everyone!

    Hello...

    Hi all
Been a while since I checked in, glad to see things are going well for most of you.
I cannot believe some of you are clucky already, at the moment I think Max might be an only child! I have had a post childbirth health issue that required some minor surgery last week, so I suspect thats why I have not entered the heights of cluckiness yet.

Max has been a great buba, but my health issue has meant that I wasn't enjoying new motherhood, couldn't really leave the house and was in pain most of the day. Not exactly ideal for enjoying motherhood!. Hopefully the issue is finished with and we can get on with things.

We are attempting to move Max from Bassinet to cot, at least for day sleeps. Its not going to well! He has become really comfy in his bassinet and I fear he will not sleep very well if we go visiting anywhere - any others had luck with moving them from bassinet to cot?

I can't believe how clucky you guys are hehe. Though I must admit I was after I had Munchkin too!
However DH and I have decided two is our number.

K1 - Nothing too serious I hope! I hope you feel better soon.

Moving in like twenty days til Brisbane - DH managed to get his transfer approved, so we're fairly set. Getting a bit exciting/stressful now!
On the weekend though, DH managed to snip the top of his thumb off with a pair of garden shears. Thankfully not too much, but he's been out of all sorts of duties because of it. No nappy changing! I swear I've changed so many nappies the last few days.

Thankfully his mums coming to visit for Easter weekend, so I can have a bit of a break. I miss having family close by!

    Hope everyones going good. xx

Kamarine - the thought of snipping the top of my finger off is making me squirm

K1 - I hope your problem is resolved now. We just moved Chloe from the portable bassinette during the day to her cot. She has slept at night in her cot for a few weeks now though, she only just started sleeping in it during the day but she still refuses to do so in the evenings until bed time. Problem is she is getting to big for the portable. I find that they like falling asleep in the bassinette cause it is out with us, I slowly put it down the hall away from everything, then in our room and then put her in her cot.

Chloe got her needles on Tue, she got pretty grumpy and a slight temp. I was also gobsmacked cause the nurse told me she was 6kg, so I got it double checked on Wed with my normal MHN, and she is but still 61cm. She is doing well for a little bf porka at 2mths old. Its so cute cause she has really started yabbering away now. My dr said she is really strong, prob cause of the reflux making her tense so much. Today I have to pull the bags of 00 clothes out and see what I have, I have a feeling it is mainly winter stuff and I will have to do a shop for her.

bubs has stopped sleeping thru and is waking 3-4 hourly for feeds now, maybe 12 week growth spurt?? gee i hope so...
have had some success getting him to sleep longer during the day (over 2 hours today!!) by sleeping him on his tummy.... think he will end up being a tummy sleeper like my first bub which i only discovered once she could roll over, wish i had of thought of it earlier!! anyways alot wiser the second time around...

lots of laughing and 'talking' and gummy grins which is nice.... had him dressed up as an easter bunny yesterday and today which my SIL told me jokingly was child abuse, haha.

hope everyone is doing well xx

Sorry girls that I have been M.I.A ... we went away for easter and it is taking a while to get back into the swing of things. Luka has a cold and has been coughing a lot, he is coping pretty well though ... he is so cute. He travelled really well, 6 hours one way to our easter destination and we had to wake him both times for a bottle. So he did really well. DH also has the flu and has not been at work all week. The girls and I are so far, touch wood, fine!

Smithy & Kamarine - I was reading your posts about you guys moving, good luck. We had a big move after DD1 was born and then did an even bigger interstate one when DD2 was about 6 months. Hopefully you both have plenty of extra hands to help out with the babies!

Emma - Are you back to sleep throughs yet?

Study - How did you score with the clothes? I have been buying a few bits and pieces for Luka, finding him in 000's now. Definately bigger in his torso than legs. Like Daddy there. Once he gets to 00's I am going to have to pretty much get everything, as I don't have much for him in that size!

to everyone I have missed. I hope that you are all doing well and have avoided the dreaded flu along with bubs!

sometimes sleeps well at night, sometimes feeds three hourly.... not sure whats up... i figure maybe when he's about six months there will be some sort of regularity...

how do you all get your babies to sleep? i've got to rock mine during the day to get him to sleep... at night he's better and just goes in his cot 'drunk'... but during the day i have to rock etc.... just wondering if you are doing the same? i still think 3 months is young enough to be doing this, i wouldn't want to be doing it at like 5 or 6 months though, can't remember how to stop doing it, its just easier to do it!!!!!

Kazaraz - well done little man for making the drive, we drove to GlenInnes when Amelia was about 10mths, I ended up having to climb over into the back seat to give her a jar of food half way down the range cause we couldnt stop and she was crackin it. I found a heap of 00 summer clothes that will get Chloe through the rest summer and a heap of 00 winter clothes, so I dont really have to buy anything, just maybe some new long sleeve tshirts. Her big sis wasnt so big and was born april and was wearing the 00 the next summer/winter cause she was so petite, she is 2 soon and only mainly in size 1, so its kinda working out well with Chloe being a big girl for her age, saving lots of money on clothes.

Emma - lol on bunny dressups, that what we have kids for . If I catch Chloe's tired signs all I have to do it put her down somewhere that she considers a place to sleep, like the rocker carrier/cot/pram and she will go off by herself. She will sleep in her cot all day and night but wont have a bar to do with it in the evening, she has to be asleep in the bassinette carrier and if I try to put her to bed before 10.30 she cracks a patty. Really strange I know, I keep trying occasionally to put her in there but she knows I've never rocked or patted either of mine, but if they need it I will give cuddles and walk around holding them really tight till they drift off. I think you start to rock/pat them until they start to doze off and start putting them in the cot half asleep with a little more patting, to get slowly out of the rocking thing, I think thats what I remember my sister doing but 3mths is still okay I think to. She needs cuddles to go off to sleep after her last feed of the day though, she buries her head upside down into the crevic of my arm, it looks like she is suffocating but she squirms until she gets there.

Kamarine/Smithy - hope the packing is going well, i hope not to move again till we buy I really hate it.

Yeah Chloe has done 3 nights this week with 9hours between feeds and is no longer cluster feeding in the evening . Only problem is, 9 hours minus cluster feeding = b00bies in the morning. I woke up this morning and had filled 2 breast pads and was overflowing all over my pj's, I poked her to wake her for a feed so she might have gone longer lol, then had to express the other side. She sleeps about 13 in total without waking. She has beaten her sister who didnt start big sleep/feeds till 15weeks. Hopefully it continues cause I am liking.

Hope everyone had a good easter, I have finally finished the big egg Andrew's mum bought me even though I tried to tell everyone not to buy us any cause the size of my bottom doesnt need help along seen as I cant do no exercise to burn it off.

aww study mum what a good girl you have there hunny yay for great sleep hey .hope everything else is good as well hun,gee id love to know your secret lol..and thanks for asking hunny the packing is all done now so its just the moove to do and clean the house ,mooving out on the 22nd cant wait
KAMAIRNE..im sooo thinking of you darling girls i hope your mooving is going ok too sweety its a real bumma hey.

afm and my girl...wellll sleep whats that miss c is perfect through the day hasher good sleeps BUT night time is another story at the moment were back to 3hrs in between feeds(although last night she went 5hrs yay) feels like im up and down all night.
but on the other hand she is doing sooo well with the way she is settling herself in her cot as soon as i know shes tired i put her to bed and she goes straight off to sleep,i too was rocking her to sleep all the time and thought nope bugger this you need to learn to self settle and she is maybe once or twice ive had to go in and put her dummy back in but thats about it as long as shes clean fed,and burped shes rite.
i truely think shes having another growth spurt ,little buggers growing like mad lol.
anyways all good here onwards and upwards i guess apart from the sleep stuff i have a very happy little girl ,oh and who has also started to taste some farex and omg she loves it,only about half a teaspoon every day and she doesnt even get all of that but she thinks she soo good and its very funny to watch lol..
ok girls enough rambles about me i hope your all going well take care and love to you all.
