Morning ladies.. our little princess is 8wks today, hasn't it gone so quickly!

We have a MCHN appt at 10:30 and i can't wait, she is in 000 for ALL clothes and some look like if she grows any longer they wont fit
Ava was in 000 from 3mths til about 5mths and Z is nearly out of them by 2mths, i have nicknamed her Miss Piggy

Well she's awake now, will come back and do personals later... hope your all well!

Miss Piggy is def an appropriate nickname for Z!

    Weight: 4640g (+840g in 4wks)
    Height: 57cm (+3.5cm)
    Head: 38cm (+2cm)

The MCHN had to DOUBLE CHECK her length as she couldn't believe she had grown 3.5cm in the last wks, she said most do 2cm if that at this age but wait theres more, in the last 3 days lots of wet nappies but not as many dirty and sleeping a bit more, MCHN seems to think she is only in the middle or start of a growth spurt!

She is now 50th% for EVERYTHING and i am so so excited... as an example DD1 was:

    W: 5130g , H: 59.5 and Head: 40.5 ... but wait, that was at 4 MONTHS OLD!

So by her next appt if she keeps growing at this rate she will catch up to her sister in no time.. i think by the time Z is 1 and A is 2 they might be sharing clothes, i am so excited.. A took so so long to grow and now Z is growing like a weed!

Sorry so long and no personals as yet, have to start cleaning and packing for my QLD w/end with Z.. ohhh i'm so excited!

Leah, Jacksons in some 00 now Some of his 000 fit but you can forget about his 0000, I think they lasted like a week!!

We have a CHN appointment today at 2.30 so I"m interested to see how much he's put on this fortnight... everyone keeps saying he's in a good paddock haha. Makes me feel proud that I'm keeping him cranking off me, iykwim

Jacksons been sleeping in 4 hour blocks during the night mostly. A few nights ago he slept 8 hours straight, (i woke up and thought he'd died) and now I've had a taste of that I wish he'd do it all the time but I think it was a one off haha!!
He's also started rolling, too!! At exactly 6 weeks. DH and I were watching him sort of half flick himself up, then all of a sudden he was on his back Thought it might have been a fluke so we put him back on his belly and he did it again, the little rat bag! He's done it a couple of times since.

Well, I must mosey and do some chores while I can! Sorry I've been MIA, will try keep up more.

    Mwah! xx

Go Jackson... he's a fast learner... keep up the great work Teagz.
Z had rolled twice, the first time i thought Ava must have moved her, she did that about a week ago but hasn't since.. THANK GOD.

Zarava - Caroline hasn't had as many dirty pants lately and went 2 days with only wet nappies. She's sleeping a lot today also (possibly because she's been either in the car or in my arms but now that we're home she's also just fed and was content to sit in her rocker for all of 5 minutes before cracking it and has now passed out in her bassinet!). would this be another growth spurt? I didn't know that lack of dirty nappies would be a sign? she's not fed any extra.

Teagz - well done to Jackson, I can't believe he's rolling already!!

Caroline is in 000's also, she's so long now! there are some pumpkin patch and esprit things in 0000's that are still too big though so it must just be their brand that is a bit off in size or just those particular outfits.

Leah- Great job to Z. She is growing wonderfully!

Teagz- I tried little A in a Bonds wondersuit 00 yesterday and it fit albeit a bit baggy. Bonds brand tends to be a size smaller than other brands. I love the easy suit (when they grow a little bigger) and was sad being a smaller fit that size 2 didnt last too long.
Oh and I am getting a healthy appreciation for Bonds clothing.

Any ladies who have had C/S, still not had the feeling return to your tummy. I still have quite a dead patch.

Illey- Maybe Caroline is just slowing down on the dirty nappies. Or it could be a growth spurt. Sometimes they say when the nappies stop being constantly dirty but still plenty wet (and also increased feeding) that a growth spurt is happening.
Is anyone on facebook? Please feel free to add me. I am Jenny Metcalf. Pic is of me and my 2 girls while in hospital still.

Teagz - awesome on Jacks rolling over! What a clever little munchkin! Amelia is just going onto her side atm.

Zarava - that's fabulous weight gains! I had problems with DS so I totally understand where you're coming from. It's such a relief to have the feeding going much more smoothly this time 'round!

illeyena - it's pretty normal for breastfed bubs to go a day or two (sometimes even more when they are a bit older) without pooping. DD usually goes every second day now and it's a HUGE poop! Have had a few poosplosions lol...Sometimes she does get a bit cranky before she does one and as soon as she does she is sooo happy again.

jenjams - after my C/S with DS, my scar area was quite numb for a few months, had a few numb patches for quite a while but now all is good. Have added you to FB

Gotta run, Amelia is awake now. She's been snoozing in her swing!

    Hi Everyone

Sorry I've been MIA...Not much to report on really.

YAY for all the healthy growing, looks like we've all got big ones! I haven't had Henry weighed for a couple of weeks but he's over 5kg now, he was about 5kg last week n my home scales (I weighed myself and them him and worked out the diff).

He's not rolling yet, but loves the tummy time so don't think it will be long as it looks like he's trying.

Sleeping wise he's a little star. For the last few weeks he's been in a good pattern. He'll have his last feed around 6-7 and sleep for between 7 and 9 hours, so I only have to get up around 2-4 or so and again around 6.30 - 8.00....so and very pleased with that! My BBs have gotten used to it and though they are very full when he wakes in the night, they aren't too sore. Because he's in such a pattern now I'm a little cheeky and have a glass of wine in front of the telly...not been caught out yet

I've been expressing and went out shopping with my sister to get some clothes (I have lots of work clothes but not many 'play' clothes) and DH looked after him and did a feed with the expressed milk (I did a test at home a few days prior to make sure he'd take it!) BUT it did put my BBs out of wack a bit.

Has anyone's work asked about coming back? I originally said 6 months and then part time..they have asked is this is still the case just for planning purposes...I have no idea! I miss the head part of working but couldn't bear to leave him....plus throw in the breast feeding and having to express into the mix and it's all too hard...What's everyone doing work wise?

Jen Jams - I'm a bit numb around the scar but it's been coming back gradually (I did have pins and needles between my belly button and scar when I rubbed it in the first few weeks but that's gone now), I think it takes a while for all the nerve endings to find one another and work again.

I'll try to be in here more ofen and keep better track so can do pers.

Hummingbird, top job on the feeding! DD is a little greedy guts and feeds roughly 2 hourly still. Although every now and then she will go 3 hrs.

Re maternity leave, I never went back after having DS. They actually had a restructure and I got a redundancy. So the decision was made for me!

Morning ladies! i'm going to do a proper post with persies today!!

Leah, yea the rolling is a huge shock to the system!! He hasn't rolled since wednesday now, he must have forgotten how too... or is just lulling us back into a false sense of security XD )Oh, HAVE FUN ON YOUR TRIP!! xx

jenjams, I'll add you to fb

Hummingbird, way to go on the sleep!! The longer jacks goes is about 6-7 hours. He did pull one 8 hour nighter, but hasn't since, but never mind. He's pretty easy to get back to bed now too so I can't complain! As for the work thing, I'm quite happy to never go back! My job was very political and Im quite happy being out of all the drama. Dh has picked up half a day on Saturday and at double time (thank you very much) it's pretty much covering my pay that I have lost. He's such a gem
Oh go the wine too! When we had those few super hot days this way I was itching for a corona *sigh* haven't given up to temptation yet though, Jacks feeding is still too random!

Well, afm, yesterday I tried gripe water for jacks wind... never again. It bought up his wind, well seemed to, but he was so cranky yesterday and this morning he's power spewed all through his cot -.-; Dunno if it's just coincidence but it's not cool and the gripe water is going in the bin!

i had a drink for the first time last night since i got pregnant with caroline (and it was good!!). i was banking on her sleeping until 3am like she has been lately and she shocked me by sleeping until 5.50am!!

re; work, i was only on a contract with my job so they don't have to offer me anything. i have stopped in a few times though and each time my boss asks when i think i'll be ready to go back and to let her know so she can find something for me even if its part time. we'll see though.

Teagz, I used infacol for DS which worked a treat. Haven't had to use any yet with Amelia but have thought about it. She goes a day or two without a poo then is cranky then the poo comes (massively mind you) and then she seems happy. She has been a cranky pants today and I can feel the wind in her belly moving around.

Illeyena - so jealous on the drink! I'm looking forward to my first glass of wine but at the moment Amelia is still cluster feeding in the evenings until about 9:30 then sleeping until 2am. At 9:30 I'm ready for bed myself so no point having a drink then!

eluned, jackson has no troubles with pooping but he doesn't lik bringing his burps up without a fight. Poor little man will scream so hard, they must hurt so much, after walking around and jiggling him for half an hour he'll let our the most massive burp and he's fine.

    Hi Everyone,

Wow, can't believe your little boy is rolling!

Leah - hope you have a wonderful time on your holiday, really enjoy it.

Jenjams, yeah, from the c/s, have a lot of numb areas, plus some alittle painful to touch soon. My OB said it can take up to a year (sometimes more) for the numb feeling to go away.

Well, we saw the paed on Tuesday for Darcey's 7 week check-up. She's super healthy, putting on weight nicely. At 7 weeks, she weighed in at 4.1kg, length at 54cm (can't remember the head circumference). Can't believe how much she has grown, although she's still not yet at her cousins birth weight of 4.3kg

Has anyone else had the 8 week immunisation yet? Is is really that bad for them? Ours is on 16 March, and am not looking forward to it - I HATE needles at the best of times, and this will be a real challenge, having to console my little girl, while watching her getting jabbed.

We're also having great success with night time sleeping, Darcey will sleep for around 5 to 7 hours, then she wakes, I change her, feed her, and put her back into bed. I don't soothe her into sleep at this time, but let her put herself to sleep, which normally takes around 10 mins. She's started doing this herself, and I'm so grateful, hopefully it will mean a smoother transition to her putting herself to sleep when she is first put to bed when she gets older. I'm a sook for all the other times though, and prefer to rock her, hold her until she's sound asleep.

got to go....it's booby juice time again.
    Take Care everyone,
    Petal

Woot! Amelia did her massive poop today and she was much happier. She had a big sleep in the sling snuggled against me this afternoon.

Petal, we've had the 8 week needles. It's not fun at all and I feel so mean subjecting them to it. DD cried for about a minute. They are tough little cookies though, more so than mummy One tip is to breastfeed while they give the needle. They'll still cry but they have that booby comfort. I sat in the waiting room afterwards and finished a big feed with her.
