Jennie13 - i love the idea of co-sleeping but DD wakes so much more if she's in with us i just can't do it.
She's been in with me the last 2 nights and although i love the cuddles she's driving me mad.

Teagz - hows Jackson going with the sleeping, still on his tummy?
Is he still biting, any sign of those teeth?

Eluned - thx hun, still slowly unpacking a few things, with Ava trying to help and Z feeding every 2-3hrs it's been FUN
    How are you guys going?

AFM - i gave Z her 1st lot of solids this morning, just some rice cereal and she ate it like a pro, opened her mouth for the spoons and Ava 'helped' by giving her a couple. (pics on FB)
Before anyone says anything about the WHO i am aware of the age suggestions and i wanted to wait until 6mths but i couldn't hold of any longer Z is feeding every 2-3hrs all day every day, she WAS down to 1 feed a night but is now sometimes having 1-3.
During the day at times she is quite grizzly and unsettled and i eat majority of my meals with her on my knee trying to steal my food or my fork.
She is a very happy smiley baby but lately aside from teething she's just not herself, she is awake from 1.5-2hrs then down for a nap the longest i am getting from her atm is about an hr then she's up and feeding again.
She's bigger than Ava ever was and i honestly think she needs the solids, not that i think i have been starving her but i think it's def time.

Gee can you tell i am still trying to convince myself of my reasons .

We are pretty much settled in and are having MG here on tuesday but am still slowly unpacking the things we don't use every day - has everyone found a mothers group?
DP is away for the long w/end and Z has been feral over night and i am so so tired but have things to do as MIL is possibly coming tomorrow so today off to buy a gate for our stairs then back home to run around like a freak and clean clean clean.

Sorry for such a me post, hope everyone is well.. been quiet in here.. hope all the mums n bubs are well.

zarava - don't feel bad about giving Z solids already hun, that is fine. I saw my GP the other day and he even RECOMMENDED starting solids anywhere from 4-6 months, depending on when the bub shows signs of wanting it. And apparently if they are able to take the food from a spoon and not push it out with their tongue, and are watching you eat and trying to get at it, then they are ready for solids. My DS is definitely not ready yet, but I would have no trouble at all giving it to him if I felt he was wanting it. It's hard when you want to do the right thing and be a good mum and there are always critics out there, but I think you are doing a great job!! Sounds like she is well and truly ready. I hope it helps increase the time between feeds and gets you a little more sleep at night!

Glad to hear that you are getting settled into the new house. It is sooo hard unpacking with a toddler!! And no, we don't have a mothers group this time around, I was thinking maybe it is only something they do with your first bub?

Zarava, Jacks been sleeping well... albeit he gets up early ^^; He's still sleeping on his belly. Some nights when I've checked on him he's even rolled over onto his side (which impresses mum who is from the old school sleep them on their side SIDS rule XD) I've started to relax a bit about it tho. I also did some research about mattress wraps that apparently help reduce SIDS which can be caused by fumes in the mattress (dunno how true it is but can't hurt!) so he has a nice fume free mattress now XDD Apparently they're all the rage in NZ.
As for solids, J is exactly the same when I eat... DH really wants to start him on some, but I'm not ready yet :P The kid has all his life to eat real food, so he can just wait another three or so weeks, dammit!

Well I must dash, Jackson is on my lap and he's trying to type thru how horrible a mother I am for not letting daddy give him a piece of carrot last night

    Mwah!

Just a quick question is anyone else having a 6mth check-up for bubs?
We moved and as Z grows so quickly and has been unsettled i thought i would call and ask for a 6mth appt and to go meet the new MCHN, the lady said they normally do 4 & 8mths but she will say because we moved i have requested a 6mth appt.
I checked A's book and she had a 6mth.. hmm interesting.

Z has been a right PITA i have no idea whats going on with my poor girl, am trying some infacol and colic relief, she's not at all herself.. she's farting HEAPS but hasn't done a #2 in about 3 days... maybe it's another growth spurt, god i hope not she's already WAY ahead of what ava was at that age.

She is LOVING rice cereal, opens her mouth for every spoon... little pig.

yep, my chn booked me in at our 4 month check up.
    I don't know if that's because we're meant to tho, or because Jackson had only put on the 'minimal' amount of weight on in 5 weeks (480grams) and she wants to keep an eye on us. oO;

    Hey ladies

Sounds like everyones bubbas are coming along nicely!

I was asked at DS 4month check up if i wanted a 6month one otherwise they dont do another one until he was 8 months old. So i decided to make a 6month appointment as well i like to know how long his grown and how much weight hes put on.

With the poos Zavara has she just been having farax? I noticed when seb started on it, it seemed to consipate him a little so i add in pears to counter act it Also i guess during winter we dont drink as much fluids espically water which makes them poop less as well.....well so i have found anyways.

AFM - seb got 2 teeth when he was 4 months old and it looks like theres another 2 just about to pop through We started him off on solids properly about 2 weeks ago and so far he just has tea and loves it, im spoon feeding and trying some BLS and he seems to like to be able to feed himself better
He rolls around everywhere and can get to where he wants to by doing this Also has the whole bum up face plant kinda crawl going on!
Also hes reflux is pretty much non existant now and very rarely needs any of the tablets we got for him!

Zarava- With Amber, the MCHN at her 4 month checkup gave us the option of a 6 month check. However this time around at our 4 month check she didnt even mention the possibility of it. Maybe Z is all shirty at the moment because she is having that 6 month brain explosion a little early. I remember that was a time for a huge developmental leap. Just a thought.

Seb sounds like he is going great guns Minny!

We have not started solids yet. Alice is just not ready for it. Amber started at 5 months but I cannot see us starting here for another couple of weeks at least. Ah well, I am in no hurry!

Have people stopped wrapping yet? We use a woombie for Alice's sleeps and I am not sure how I am going to wean her from her straight jacket when the time comes. My girls are so different. Amber at this age was already into a sleeping bag!
Still no rolling here but again I am in no hurry for her to be moving!
