Teagz - sorry I wasn't meaning to say that you were drugging him to sleep!! I was mostly questioning my own judgement. My oldest is 10 years old so I have no memory of most things so it's like having my first all over again!! everyone keeps asking me if she's teething and I don't think she is just yet but they're all the know it alls lol.. so I just thought hmmm... maybe I'm missing something. Anyways, don't think I am coz she drools but no more than usual and doesn't bite on anything or have any other obvious signs and the gums aren't showing ANY indication of anything coming through.

Teagz, yeah I'd leave the solids for a week or so and try again later. He'l be getting all his nutrition requirements from your milk anyway. If you're comfortable with the idea, you could try him on some finger foods like soft cooked carrot, broccoli or toast or even just a rusk. He'll get the feel and texture of the foods and may be more into the solids when you start up again. Before we started solids with both kids, I used to give them a spoon to play with at meal times just so they would get used to the feel of it and it gives them a bit of control putting it in their mouths. When we started solids, they were used to having the spoon put in their mouth. Hope that all makes sense!

illey, if your DD is happily chatting away, she more than likely doesn't need any panadol. I get what you mean about remembering things. DS is only two and I've already forgotten some things! LOL...I'm guessing, if she's upset, in pain you will definitely know about it.

oh thats good, cos it could have come across that way LOL.
I would say - and this is just my opinion, because Jackson is my guinee pig baby - that she's just a chatterbox

well I think teething is here for sure now. C has been tugging at her ear, has red blotchy cheeks and when in the high chair either desperately grabs her sippy cup (i think more to chew on the teat of it rather than actually drink from it!!) and she even tries to bite on the edge of the high chair tray! she is also off her solids and is more grumpy than usual. she hasn't been finishing all her bottles either during the day so have been giving her a top up bottle before I go to bed to make up for it. my nice long day sleeps that I was getting from her have also fallen by the wayside going down to 45 minutes. having said that I think it caught up with her yesterday with a 2.5hr sleep in the afternoon! how are the other teething bubs?

quick post... Z had an allergic reaction to something in yoghurt yesterday (kids vaalia), we ended up at the hospital as my instincts were telling me it wasn't right, by the time i got there her cheeks and tongue had swollen a bit and she was wheezing.
The reaction started to go down on its own before medication but it scares me to death as they say each subsequent reaction can be worse!
She had hives all over her mouth, cheeks, chest and her hands where she had touched it (pics on FB).
We were up all night, she was screaming, unsettled and only fell asleep when i was patting her while pacing, i slept upright most of the night and she woke hourly then took say 20-30min to settle so was only having 20-30min naps then was up from 4:30am til 8:30 and only slept 30min again .
Got a Dr's appt today at 2:15 so hoping to get a referral to a paed or straight to RCH for allergy testing.

A reacted twice, once to banana & avocado and the other to egg, she did the testing at 12mths but is all clear now.. so i have NO IDEA what caused Z's (she gets milk through me and has had banana) so i just have to be really careful until we know whats happening.

Give your LO's a big hug and take care!

ZF that must have been so scary for you I hope the doctors refer you so you can get some answers and relax a little...at least if you know what caused the reaction you can avoid it but it must be hard not knowing.

    I.AM.GOING.INSANE.

    Jackson stopped sleeping thru
Today he's been up since 8am, and it's now 3pm... with no naps!
And, he's pulling at his ears, sticking his finger inside of them, chewing everything... etc etc
and his teeth are THRU! He's getting 2 of them at once. He was perfect while they were coming thru, but now they're actually here he's a right PITA
But he's cute... so I'll keep him XD

ZF, I hope Z is feeling better now xx

    I'd better get back to my little dude... I put him in his cot otherwise we were going to kill each other, and all I can hear is mumumumumumumumumum... aaahmum mumamumamamum ><;

Hey everyone, had our Dr's appt, got some medication for the next 2 days to help with this current reaction also getting zyrtec for if she swells and has another one (only in an extreme case) and have a referral to RCH, they have listed her as anaphelactic (sp?) as she swelled up etc so hopefully that will get her seen quicker.
Shame is no new foods until AFTER her allergy testing so she's stuck on the same old same old for god knows how long.

Better go she's been awake since b4 12, wont sleep and i am trying to cook tea for us & MIL & FIL.. she betetr sleep tonight, up from 4:30am sunday morning, all night then up from 4:30 this morn... argh

Teagz, I'm going insane too! Just want to walk right out the door!

Amelia has been crying nonstop for the last hour! I don't know what's wrong, either teeth or bottom wind. Josh is taking full advantage of it and turning the house upside down. No chance of dinner getting started anytime soon. *sigh*

CRAP - ontop of everything last w/end Z is teething REALLY badly, wont sleep during the day, wants to be cuddled and when she does finally get to sleep at night it's upright on me and screaming when she's put down.
We got a letter from RCH saying they have received our referral so hopefully we can get in soon and see whats happening.

    How is everyone else?
Best be off, got Z in the swing while i 'TRY' and do some housework, going to have coffee with a friend tonight b4 she flies off to QLD, Ava is going to love the airport!

oh Z that sounds TERRIBLE!! Caroline isn't sleeping much during the day but is passing out at night (so far!!!) so whilst I'm tearing my hair out by the end of the day I've been grateful she's not been up much during the night (just once for a feed and change so far). I think she'll be awhile getting these teeth up, still no actual sign of them.

z, i'm hearing ya. although jacks isn't upset... he's just awake. last night we were up, solid, from 11.30 til 3.30. thankfully he slept thru til 8 this morning. the night before tho i slept from 2ish til 4.30 with him on my chest on the recliner tho, because he was having a clingy night.
sil lovingly pointed out today that his front top teeth are starting to come closer to the surface of his gums... so here i was thinking that he was all past it for a while seeing as his bottom two teeth have cut thru but apparently the little buggers are gonna come one after the other. Aaargh! damn teeth!

    How is everyone going?
Been ok here, Z is teething quite badly and there are 2 little white lumps in her bottom gum, hoping they come through rather than go away again.
She's sitting in her highchair at the moment eating pear, not cooked at al just in chunks... PIG still no update on RCH yet.
    have a good w/end everyone.

Loves her food! mabey to much! ill give her a bottle, her food, and she still whinges at me when she see's me eating! she has solids 3 times a day, toast in morning, some sort of fruit mid-day ish and some sort of meat and veg for dinner (sometimes ill swap the fruit & meat/veg meals around) and all up 780mls of formula, does that sound okay? Any crawlers yet? I had a friend over today with her little 9month old whos just started crawling and pulling her self up1 its so cute! I cant wait for Freya to crawl!! lol

C is rolling around all over the place but not crawling yet and i'm in NO hurry for her to lol then i will seriously have to baby proof this place!!
