I know nearly Easter already! We are actually going on our first long car trip with DD - a 10hr drive down south. Any suggestions on how to keep her entertained?

    Hi Girls,

Wow it has been very, very quiet, guess we're all busy with our bubbas. How has everyone been? Lexie is 10mths old today, I'm devastated that she is growing so quickly, she is our last bub so I wish the time would slow down a bit. Anyone pregnant again or thinking of having another bub anytime soon?

We're away at the moment for the Easter long weekend. The weather is gorgeous and we are getting plenty of swimming in. Lexie is loving the water. She's such a happy baby!

Better go, hopefully some of you will pop back in here.

    Have a great Easter!!!

    Hi Girls!
Where does the time go? Can't believe our bubs are well on the way to 1!
Ted is going really well. 9 months tomorrow. No teeth yet! He has developed some dreadful sleeping habits, though. Somewhere along the way he stopped sleeping in his cot. Now he sleeps in the pram during the day (2x 1.5 hr sleeps - so I can't complain!). I have to feed him to sleep of an evening to get him in his cot and then he keeps waking til I bring him into the bed with me for the rest of the night. I end up on the fold out couch (SO uncomfortable) because DS1 usually climbs in too! Ted then feeds quite regularly through the night (as opposed to day time - a couple of sucks and he's done. Hardly worth it!). As a result I am quite drained (and sore from the stupid fold out couch - my poor old bones can't cope with those dodgy springs!) Tried to get tough and do some controlled crying, but lasted an hour. We go away in 3 weeks, so will try to sort things out once we're back. Any advice would be welcome!!
Other than that, not much else to report.
Rach - did I notice something exciting on your ticker??!!
    Happy Easter everyone xo

Cupcake, I cant believe Laila is walking, our bubs are growing so quickly hey. Lexie isnt walking but I don't think she will until after she turns one coz thats when both our other two girls started walking. Hope you managed to get some sleep last night! I stopped breastfeeding Lexie when she was almost 7 mths but I slowly weaned her and was lucky enough for her not to miss the breastfeeding.

I've started planning Lexie's first birthday. We are getting her christened on the same day then after her christening we will be having her birthday party. Ive still got to decide on what decorations I want and the invitations yet. Her birthday is less than 2 months away so time will go quickly.....Im devastated that my girls are growing so quickly. DD1 turns 6 in a couple of weeks.

I went & sussed out the local park yesterday (well one of them) it's a pretty awesome park, have to get there early to get a table tho it's pretty popular!

No idea on decorations or anything but I have 3 months...

L won't take a bottle so makes it hard to wean!

Will she take formula or ebm in a sippy cup? Even the sippy cups that have the straws? I can't offer any other advice sorry

She doesn't suck from straws yet & when I try her on water from sippy cups she thinks it's fun to suck it & spit it out lol. Haven't tried formula tho. Maybe I need to experiment!

I know what you mean about sucking water & spitting it out, lexie does it too. I give her water everyday but not sure how much she actually swallows coz I'm sure she spits most of it out. And she always ends up with wet clothes from spitting it everywhere. Hopefully you have better luck on formula.

Yes we are having another babeeeee!!!! I really need to get in and check this thread more often – I didn’t realise people were still posting. Due date is the 11 December, I’m 10 ½ weeks so only a few more weeks until the NT scan. We have a scan with my OB tomorrow to check progress – fingers crossed all is still going well.

Sounds like all our little (or not so little) babes are doing great! Hudson is fantastic, although we had a really rough weekend with his teething. His first top tooth has come through, so makes 3 now. He’s still speed crawling around, pulls himself into standing and walks along furniture but doesn’t seem too interested in walking yet. We’re starting to encourage him but as long as he’s walking by the time the new baby arrives I’ll be happy.

Amy – how exciting that Laila is walking already. God she was born ready wasn’t she, such a little go getter. No tips on weaning sorry, H weaned easily at 7 months. I think it upset me more than him!

Quegsley – I hope your nights get easier soon, the night waking is so hard. H still stirs most nights, we have at least one shocker a week and he wakes at the crack of dawn most days. I’d be happy if he would just sleep till 6am for me.

Leigh – thanks for the congrats, it is both exciting and scary. Not sure how we’ll cope with having two so close together, there’s only a 17 month gap. Any tips?

We’ll have to start thinking about H’s birthday soon, probably just a bbq in the park. I am looking forward to making his cake! Could be interesting….

    Take care everyone xo

Congrats Rach!! We're starting to think of number 2(3).

Trying to wean DD again, currently listening to her cry because she won't sleep =( it's heart breaking! She's drinking little bits of formula but wants booby to go to sleep!

Hope everyone is well, not long til the birthdays roll around!

    Hi Girls,

Hope you are your bubs are all doing well. I had written a big post last night and then lost it grrr, don't have as much time now because I have to get DD1 ready for school so this post wont be as long.

Lexie is good, her birthday is next Thursday, I can't believe my baby is almost 1 already. Every time I think about it I almost cry, she is my last baby and time is going so fast. She isn't walking yet, but both my other girls didn't walk until 14 and 15 months so I am not expecting Lexie to walk anytime soon yet either. She loves her walker though and scoots around the house in that, but gets very frustrated when she gets stuck on some furniture and can't get going again. She is still only commando crawling, she is a very chubby bub and I think it is easier for her to drag herself around that way but the last few days she has started doing some proper crawling so I reckon she will be doing it full time soon. Although she always gets to where she needs to by commando crawling or rolling or bum shuffling, she is always on the move. She has 4 teeth (2 bottom and 2 top), plus more on the way.

Rach, how is your pregnancy going? My DD2 and DD3 are 19 months apart and the only advice I can give is to try and be organised (easier said than done with a newborn I know), hopefully you will get into a good routine and they will both sleep at the same time during the day. I love when my girls have their arvo sleep, its a bit of peace and quiet time for me. Also if you can get Hudson involved in helping you, he will love it. Like getting wipes for you when its nappy change time etc. I am sure he will love his little brother/sister (are you going to find out the sex?) DD2 was a bit rough wth Lexie at first, like she'd start out gently patting her which would then get harder and harder lol but now she absolutely loves Lexie and is so protective of her. If I put Lexie to bed without DD2 getting to kiss her goodnight etc DD2 carries on like a pork chop lol.

Cupcake - How are you going with the weaning? Hope its getting easier for you. Would be heartbreaking knowing she is wanting booby. I don't have any advice for you because I was lucky that my girls all weaned themselves, hopefully someone else has some ideas. How exciting about thinking about trying for number 2 (3). Do you know when you guys will start? I am soooo clucky and would love another but with my tubes tied and after 3 traumatic c/s thats obviously not going to happen.

    Gotta go now.

Thanks Cupcake – how’s the weaning going? I don’t really have any advice either sorry, H took both breast and expressed milk in a bottle from early on and then weaned easily at 7 months. I think it was harder on me than him. Will you just go straight to the sippy cup or still have a bottle?I’m a little confused about the bottle issue, I read somewhere that they should be off the bottle by 1?? It seems so young.
Good luck with the baby making too, I hope it happens nice and quickly for you!

Hi Leigh – I’ve been thinking about little Lexie and her 1st birthday. I agree the last year has just gone to quickly, our babies are almost toddlers!
Sounds like she is doing wonderfully anyway. Are you having a little party? What kind of cake are you having?
Everything is going well with the pregnancy, we’re almost 15 weeks & I’m finally passed the absolutely exhausted stage. The NT scan went well a few weeks back. I caved and found out the gender, only 70% accurate though AND we’re keeping it a secret – hehe sorry. I’m just telling my family and friend I don’t know so they don’t harass us – my mum’s the worst.
I am little worries about when the baby arrives, I don’t know that Hudson will really understand.. it’s sweet that your DD2 loves Lexie so much. Hopefully I will be able to cope with 2 under 17 months, if it’s an easy bub like H was I should be okay. I definitely can’t wait to be at home full time again!

Hi to anyone else still lurking

Rach, DD2 didn't understand that one day she was my baby & then the next thing I had a new baby. She was a similar age to what Hudson will be. I tried explaining it to DD2 that a new baby was coming but she didn't have a clue. I was devastated in hospital when DH & my mum bought the girls to visit & DD2 didn't want a bar of me at all in hospital. She wouldn't hug or kiss me, or come near me. She was such a mummy's girl, I think being in hospital with the epidural drip in freaked her out a bit but as soon as i arrived home she was back to her usual self & was all over me again. I reckon you're having a girl....even though I know you won't tell me lol. You had a c/s with Hudson hey? Are you going to try for a vbac or have another c/s? All 3 of my kids were born via c/s, but I didn't have a choice coz of my uterus. We're getting Lexie christened & then having her 1st bday party straight after the christening. We're getting her christened incase we want to send the girls to a private school, most of the private schools up here require kids to be christened. In regards to a cake, I am getting it made, not sure what kind yet, most likely chocolate, but not sure about shape etc.

I caved again & am still BFing. It's a love hate relationship lol. I wish it were easier because it's starting to really turn me off BFing number 2! As much as I hate to say it.

We haven't started yet but everytime I see a newborn I get so clucky!

Happy birthday to your princess for tomorrow!! Time has FLOWN!

Cupcake, hopefully she will self wean for you very soon, must be hard when you're ready to stop. You're a trooper for still breastfeeding almost a year later, you've done well.

I'm just about to wrap Lexie's birthday presents. I cant believe my baby is one tomorrow. I looked at her before and cried. She's crawling properly now too, no more commando crawling. I want her to stay little lol. We're having a cake for her here tomorrow with just us and then her party is Saturday.

Wow Leigh - happy birthday to Lexie for tomorrow. I cannot believe it!!! Where have our tiny babies gone??? Glad to hear she is doing so well.

Hope you're feeling ok Rach. Rest up while you can! So exciting for you. I will be stalking you on here and on FB come December!

Amy don't beat yourself up about the bfing. You are doing a terrific job. It is very hard to wean if bubs isn't ready. I'm still feeding 3x a day (and sometimes at night), but am planning to cut out the lunchtime feed soon. Then again, it makes Ted nice and sleepy before his afternoon nap!

Well, we seemed to have turned the corner with Ted's sleeping. He's back in his cot now and is generally self settling pretty well He is managing some long stints of sleep. Both his day sleeps today have been over 45 mins - Yay! He has 4 teeth now, is crawling properly. So cute!

    Hope everyone else is well
