It was another few weeks for me! round about the 11th of Nov it was or was it the 12th? I know I was due for AF on the 9th and I was a few days late when I tested.
Far to quick....
How is everyone going? We still have no teeth here, but Amelia has definitely been developing in other ways - she can grab her feet now and loves to touch them. She is a lot more interactive with her toys and wakes up most mornings chatting away to them! She is also enjoying tummy time a lot more than she used to and I think she is getting close to crawling. It will be so exciting when she does it!
Hope you're all well and not suffering with the heat!
Hi all,
No teeth here either yet. Sophie's a big fan of her feet as well, although it grosses me out when she sticks her big toes in her mouth for a chew! She's never been a big fan of tummy time either, up until DH's b'day about a month ago we found her on her belly in her cot after waking up, pushing herself up with her arms. Cute surprise. We'd borrowed a friends walker and she loooves it, so I think that has something to do with her new found neck strength. She's also sitting for (very) short periods when you prop her up leaning on her hands. :)
Not sure if I want the crawling to start too soon, it's enough work now chasing her around the mat, with all the rolling and body dragging she does.
I must say I'm getting awfully excited about Christmas this year, can't wait to put the tree up and turn the lights on for Sophie - not that she'll care lol. And get her pressies off layby!
Ok, enough rambling, take care all!
Hey :)
No teeth yet here, but I can see the lumps... Tristan kicks his feets and is reaching out to grab things with his fisted hands. Of and he is sooo close to rolling.... it's so cute to watch. He's started to put things in his mouth too.
He's 5 months old today... gets weighed and measured tomorrow. I'm hoping he's cracked the 6kg mark. A month ago he was 4980.. so I dont think it's an unreasonable goal for 6kg. He has definately grown anyway LOL.
I wish our weather would make up it's mind, it's hot to the point of needing air cons (and I'm a nazi it's a last resort for us) then cold needing the heater! No wonder we got sick... Thankfully Tristan didnt catch it, just Brendan and I.
Have to take Brendan to daycare now :)
Take Care
Good Afternoon :)
Had Tristan weighed this morning...
At 17 weeks he was 4980 grams (+480 in 7 weeks) 60cms long
Today at 22 weeks he weighed 5700 grams (+720 in 5 weeks) 63.5cms long and 41cm HC (+8cm since birth)
For weight he is just under the 3rd percentile line for length he is smack bang on the 25th percentile and he is smack bang on the 10th percentile for his head circumference.
Sounds like Tristan is doing well
I tried to book Amelia in for her 6mth assessment and got told they only do it if they think it's needed and since the nurse didn't seem concerned with her development we aren't going to bother. I guess I can always make an apppointment if I'm worried about anything.
We bought a bath ring for her yesterday - she didn't like it at all - screamed so much when we tried to put her in it so I guess it will stay in the cupboard until bubs no2.
Is anyone else giving solids? She is having farex in the morning and apple or pear in the afternoon.
We wont be going for a check at 6 months, just neddles. Depending on how he's going we'll go at 8 months.
Hello :)
How is everyone? What are all the babies up to developmentally?
We are doing well here (Tristan and I) Tristan has a CHN appt on Friday, several reasons... he is scratching his excema so bad it bleeds :( and one of his legs is quite bent that when you hold him up and try and get him to stand his feet are almost crossed and his foot is on its side.
We attempted some farex a few days ago, and as I suspected it didnt go down well. Tristan still has the tongue reflex and is more interested in sucking down feeds hehe. Hes not really doing anything yet.... has rolled ocassionally, but I wouldnt class him as rolling yet, its not even once a week or anything lol. He has no balance and isnt sitting either, he doesnt bare any weight on his legs if you hold him supported. He just kinda lays there lol. He can push himself almost in a 180 hehe which is kinda cute.
He is however always cooing and yabbering on, no real sounds though, just noise.
I'll get him weighed on Friday while I'm at the CHN office, hoping to have cracked that 6kg mark this time! He is still in 000-00 for two piece sets and 00 for length.
Hope everyone is well :) Take Care during the holiday season.
Hi Sally,
Good to hear about Tristan's development. I think he's doing well!
Grace hasn't been rolling as yet, and doesn't show the slightest interest in doing so :D But she starts sitting up! Frog-style most of the time, but she begins to sit upright for a few minutes before cracking down and scream for help or tumbling down on her back or side. Very funny!
She's started Farex about two weeks ago and it went so well! She'd been very fussy when breastfed and cried after emptying both breast. She also literally cried one day watching DH eating! :D So I thought it's time to start solid. I tried potato a few days a go but she didn't like it, changed to pumpkin yesterday and she loves it!
I can't believe how much she grows, she's almost 7kg now (self-weighing at home), mostly in 00 and even some 0's for her dresses. She's a happy baby, easily sleeps on her own, smiles a lot, starts to giggle and attempts strawberry kisses :) She discovered new consonant 'b' and at times noisily babbling baa-buh :)
We'll bring Grace for holiday next week. A bit nervous with the long trip, but hope she'll be as happy as she is now.
Hope everyone is doing well with their little ones.
Rachel
Awww! Grace is doing so well :D
Brendan used to prefer pumpkin over potato, now its the other way round
Hi Girls,
Sounds like Tristan and Grace are both doing well :)
DD is enjoying her farex, apples and pears. I tried to prepare some carrots for her this morning and ended up burning them so will try again later today
We weighed/measured her at home the other week and she is 69cm long and weighs 7.2kg - no wonder my back is starting to hurt when I pick her up now!
She rolls over to her tummy as soon as she goes on her play mat now and kicks her legs/lifts her bum up in the air. She hasn't worked out her arms yet but it probably wont take long!
DH & I are pretty sure the other night she said "duck". We were playing with a rubber duck from her bath and kept saying duck to her and she repeated it back!! She said it once more last week and hasnt said it since. Probably figured if she said it we would stop saying it to her
We are planning to drive to Brisbane over Easter so it will be interesting to see how DD goes with the travel - we need to buy a new car first, I've narrowed it down to an X-Trail or Mazda6 wagon. We can afford a brand-new X-Trail, the Mazda6 would be a couple of years old so not sure which way to go. I'm leaning towards the X-Trail because I want to take DD to the snow and around the Otways/Dandenongs and would feel safer if we were in a 4WD...anyway we are going to look at cars this week so I could change my mind once I've actually sat in them!
How are your plans going for Christmas? We will have Christmas breaky with DH's family then head to church and maybe visit my parents for lunch then head home. Boxing Day my sister and BIL (DD's Godparents) will come over for a couple of days - we haven't seen them for about 6 weeks and I can't wait!
Wow this has turned into a long post - hope everyone is well!
Hi ladies,
Wow it's been so long since I've had time to get on. Noah is doing really well. He's 78cm approx 9.3 kilos and "drum roll please" has one tooth trough the gum and the other one sticking a corner out!!!!! So excited for him :D We discovered the first tooth last Saturday and the other one started to come through on Tuesday. Noah is also rolling from his back to his tummy. Funniest thing is that he's mostly forgotten how to roll from his tummy to his back so he gets over on his tummy and then can't figure out how to get back. So he lays there and crys till one of us rolls him over again :D
Noah is on two meals of solids a day and has been for a while. He's happily eating potato, pumpkin, sweet potato, avocado and just recently started mango. I have found that he's preferred the vegies to the fruits, but has started to like the mango. He's just getting so big I can't believe how quickly the last 6 months has gone.
Hope you are all enjoying the time preparing for Christmas.
Too quick...
Sounds like everyone is doing well :D
We are having Christmas morning here, then we are off to the IL's for lunch
Happy 6 months old Tristan!!
Cant believe how fast the time is just flying by!
Hope all is well with everyone else :)
Hi Sally,
Happy 6 months old for Tristan. Time surely flies!
Heading for holiday tomorrow. Grace's first long trip, wish us luck!
Have a merry Christmas and happy holiday for everyone :)
Rachel
Happy 6 months Tristan!! It sure has flown!
Hope you have a great trip Rachel and that Grace travels well :)
AFM I've had a bit of gastro the past couple of days, ended up getting an injection from the dr to stop throwing up - bought back memories of labour as I threw up for most of it  Has definitely put thoughts of number 2 on the backburner LOL
Luckily I don't think DD has caught it, she does have a bit of a cold though...
Hope everyone is well - if I don't get on here again before Christmas I hope you all have a great day first Christmas with your bubbas & if you're driving take care xx
Happy 6 months Tristan!
It's Sophie's half birthday today! And we're officially crawling! ...and frustrating mum and dad by getting into EVERYTHING!
We're off to the the clinic on Tuesday for the next round of needles. Might pop back in with the new measurements afterwards.
