Merry Christmas everyone! Have a safe and happy holiday :D
Sally - I hope Brendan is over his gastro, I am so thankful DD didn't get it!
Erin - yay for Sophie crawling and happy belated 6 month birthday!
It's DD's 6 months today - she was supposed to get immunised today but her appointment got cancelled so we had a nice lunch with my mum instead :D
Happy 6 months Amelia!
Well we just got back from having needles/health check, and I actually remembered to bring my red book upstairs to post Sophie's updated stats. She's now 68cm, 43cm head circ and 6.7kg...we thought she was starting to feel like a little heifer!
Hope everyone has a safe and happy Christmas!
Well, DD got her needles today, OMG I have never heard her scream as much as she did today :o we had to wait about 50min before we got in and I think the needles combined with her being tired was just too much for her. I felt so awful, we walked into the waiting room and it felt like everyone just stared at us. Luckily a quick breastfeed was enough to make her fall asleep so I was able to get myself an extra strong coffee and walk home. So happy we don't have to get needles for another 6 months now!!!
How is everyone? Hope you all enjoyed Christmas :D
We had a good one!
Tristan is now on one solids meal a day :D He's loving it! actually demands it hehe cute

Our Christmas was relatively quiet which was nice. We don't do anything full on and lunch at my parent's place was just us so it was very relaxed :D
DD had some turkey and roast potato Christmas day and could not get enough - she was like a baby bird going for the food - very very cute!!
Does anyone have plans for tonight? DH and I are planning a bbq tea and hopefully one of his mates will come over - we left it too late again (like we did last year!) to organise anything - maybe next year we will do something!!
If I dont jump back on again - Happy New Year everyone, hope 2010 brings everything you want :confetti:
Hello :D How is everyone??
Tristan had his 6 months needles last Thursday and went very well. Tomorrow he gets weighed and we are hoping for a nice gain, one kilo would be awesome, but will settle for 100 grams if I have to :D Please send us fat vibes!! he was 5.7kg at 5 months 5.66kg at 6 months, hoping for 6kg+ at 7 months!
He is now rolling everywhere and can't be left alone on the couch  he is pretty much at the same stage Brendan was at roughly 8-9 months!
Hope everyone is well!

Grrr why is 6kg so hard to reach?! He is 10 measly grams off! 5990 grams, up 250 grams (CHN records show he was 5740gms last month). He dropped further off the bottom of the chart :( Height and length are following their graph line weight is dropping. CHN is being lenient on him because he looks so healthy, but he is so so close to being labelled failure to thrive :(
big  Sally - at least the nurse thinks he is healthy and 10 grams is very close
What does failure to thrive mean?
We are doing well, DD is pushing out some teeth - finally! She also seems to be getting close to crawling - can't believe she is 7 months next week!
:( It's not a very nice term at all...:
Failure to thrive is weight consistently below the 3rd to the 5th percentile for age, progressive decrease in weight to below the 3rd to the 5th percentile, or a decrease in the percentile rank of 2 major growth parameters in a short period.
Awesome about the crawling and teeth :D
Hi all,
Have been lurking but not posting as much recently. Things are going well here. I'm back at work now and Noah has started daycare three days a week. I cried my eyes out the first day, but it's been ok since then.
Noah is doing better on the sleeping thing. He's on 2 and a half solid meals a day and is doing much better at eating. Less spitting out of food which is good :D I'm having trouble settling him to sleep some nights. He gets breastfed and then goes into bed and starts screaming. He'll sleep in our arms but when we put him down he freaks. I think it may be a response to starting daycare, so I've given him his dummy a couple of times. Don't know if I'm doing a good thing or setting myself up for problems again :( Anyway, he woke last night at 2.30am but went back to sleep when I picked him up. He wasn't hungry so I put him back to bed, gave him the dummy and he was asleep again in about 5 minutes. Didn't wake till 5.30am.
Apart from that, he's still a gorgeous baby and I love him so much. He's 10 kilos now and trying desparately to crawl but still just rocking himself and rolling everywhere.
Sally . Hopefully Tristan will hit a growth spurt real soon and just blossom :D At least he is healthy.
Can't believe Noah will be 7 months old on Saturday :o Where have the last 7 months gone.
Better get back to work :D
WOW Tara thats awesome! Noah is doing so well :D I hope he settles into a better sleep routine soon. I feel that if a dummy gets them to sleep its worth it.
Tristan is 7 months tomorrow.
Big  Sally. My nephew used to be very skinny but strong and healthy. Once he got better hold of the solids suddenly he picked up a big appetite and is chubby ever since.
Baby09 - Yay for the tooth! Which part?
Tara: Noah is doing really well and a big boy already!
As for us, I think Grace lost a few pounds due to constant traveling during our holiday. She's now 7.4kg and 66cm and almost crawling! She rocks back and forth and then leaps! Still doesn't roll yet except when on tummy she sometimes stretches one of her legs and lifts her bottom too much that she accidentally falls on her back. She also babbles constantly and loves her sippy cup.
I am also back to work for about a week now. A bit earlier than expected as we actually planned to start Grace 3 days a week in daycare next month, but then hubby's contract ended and he decided to take some time off work until Grace is 1 year old, thinking she'd already enjoy playing and demand less attention at that age. I don't mind him not working for a while but some people think I should be the one taking time off work :(
Anyway, hope everyone is well :)
Sally - and happy 7 months to Tristan!
Tara - Sounds like Noah is doing great! DD has changed her routine, she used to sleep 9pm - 6 or 7am, now she does 8.30pm til 5 or 5.30am and tonight she was asleep by 8pm! I'm with Sally on the dummy - if it's working then go for it!
curlygirl - also sounds like Grace is doing well! Other people always seem to have an opinion on the way we run our lives don't they? I think it's great your DH is home with Grace!
AFM - it is the front right tooth which has come out and the left one isn't too far behind. Yesterday was a horrible day for DD (and me!) so I spent most of it comforting her and giving her Brauer's teething stuff and bonjela. Today was much better, thankfully!
I am feeling the teething pain, past 3 nights he's been inconsolable. Sucks its happening at night. I'd rather a grizzly baby during the day that slept at night, I'm exhausted!
Grace is doing so well!
Hello :) How is everyone?
We've been away for a few days, went on a mini holiday down south :D Tristan LOVED the beach. He had a high temp the day/night before we left which settled down by the afternoon we got there. He was also a bit snotty and Sunday he did the biggest poop ever, so I think he had an upset belly and viral bug. But he's better now and thats what counts :D
No teeth yet, but they are close! He's also got up onto all fours a few times now!! SOOO CUTE :D Shouldn't be too much longer and he might be crawling :D :D
Hope everyone else is well!

How's everyone going?
Tristan is now crawling has been for nearly 2 weeks now (7m3w3d old!) and he is now sitting/kneeling too :D
We had his 8m CHN check on Friday...
L: 66.5cms (+0.5cm) 10th %ile.
HC: 43cms (+0.5cm) just under the 10th %ile
Good news is he had a gain... he's followed his line on the graph (which is still below the bottom of the graph lol) he is now 6560gm (+570gm)
He's been referred to physio and may need podiatry because his legs are worse. The left one has not gotten better and the right one, which never had a problem with is now inwards too... He is not bearing weight well either.
Tristan's breathing is a little concerning atm, you can hear him and feel him breathe... so keeping an eye on that!
Hope everyone is doing well!
