Congrats lolly!! Well done - you must be relieved that it's all over. All right then, straight up - yep, TT Wife is sad BUT very well done also. I think I remember the book being very wrenching too - but books are different. There were lots of sniffling noises in the movie theatre, and I am quite a sook too but still reckon one box of tissues tops. Could even get away with half a box

Poor Will though! Horrible seeing them distressed by it. Lila is having 2 bottles of Karicare Gold Plus each day, and according to the tin has 0.7mg of Iron per 100mL prepared formula. It also has something called PREbiotics (?), might be similar to probiotics.... Lila was The Girl Who Wouldn't Poo (anywhere from 8-17 days was normal) and for the last couple of weeks since starting the 2 bottles of formula, has been pooing up to 4 times a day. She is still bf for her other feeds but can certainly say that this formula has not caused her any difficulties.

Joey - Ok cool - I'll try and bring something with me but won't stress then if Lila's asleep and I can't stop off anywhere on the way

afm - AF has returned - bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeuuuuuurgh Must be because I am bf slightly less with the bottles now but am pretty sure I got it back around now after DS was born. Considering my postpartum bleeding went for almost 8 weeks I haven't had long without it (I'll stop whingeing soon). Very very crampy .... heat pack is my best friend - have I mentioned I am feeling very very ordinary? (lol!). Must go now and eat LOTS of chocolate

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. Anyone doing anything tomorrow for Melb Cup? I am havinga flutter but thats about it, am looking after a friends DS for her so at least that should keep my DS occupied for a while.

Had Natalya's christening yesterday. She was a little angel throughout both the ceremony, all the photos afterwards and then back at our house. She got so many cuddles from everyone and didnt cry once. We had 50 people back at ours for lunch so I was exhausted by last night but it was a lovely day and well worth it.

Jenushka, I havent had AF return yet and I cannot remember how long it was for the other 2 - my memory lately has been shocking.But I am joining you in the choccie dept - was desperate last week for some and I found myself hiding in the pantry from the kids gorging on mini snickers bars which I dont even like!

Congratulations Lolly! When are you planning on starting to teach?

Natalya is starting to become such a little character. She really loves and reacts to her older brother and sister, it is lovely to watch and she is certainly a daddys girl. Calms down instantly when distressed if he picks her up. Also starting to want to be held all the time and has been known to cry if we put her down and walk out of her eyesight. Still not rolling, she did it once 3 weeks ago and isnt concerned about doing it again!

BAAHH!!! I was sooo frustrated last night after writing a long post and losing it. Anyhoo, I will try and remember all the super important stuff!

Jen - thanks for checking the formula tin. The poo situation didn't get any better so I took Will back to the GP again and they suggested trying something called lactulose. Its a sugar syrup that helps retain water in the bowel, therefore keeping poos nice and soft & runny. I gave him the recommended dose and the poor kid - it was explosion city LOL - so I've backed it off a bit and he's much better which is a big relief - for him literally! I am concerned about using this stuff long term though, so I got a referral to our local paediatric clinic at the hossy to talk to them about it. We go next Wednesday.

Ang 50 ppl at your place after the christening. Wow, that would have been huge! Glad that Natalya was a little trooper, I forget how big some of these outings & events can be for our little ones. With the pilates, I'm hopefully to start teaching in Jan 2010 throught he studio I'm training with. Hoepfully 3 or 4 classes a week at night or on weekends so DP can look after Will.

I got AF back at around 12 weeks after Will was born. I stopped expressing at 5 weeks so it took a little while. I had a really long wait for the next one after that (something like 47 days!) and its not helping me at all trying to predict when I might be ovulating. We're wide open on the contraception front....but I can say that I would be stoked if we conceived another little one. I really would love to have my kiddies close together so we'll see what happens. I'm sure I'm nutty, but oh well.

We had a great 4 days away at our beach shack over the weekend. Will loved the beach and was a great little traveller all round. Slept ALL the way there and back (3 hr car trip each way) and just settled into his portacot at nights like it was home! We had gorgeous weather and just relaxed which we all needed.

I'm going into cooking frenzy mode over the next few days. The MILs surprise party is this Saturday night and we have about 50 ppl to cater for. I'm glad we booked a venue close by, I couldn't have coped having it at our place. I have salads, bakes, sweets & heaps of other stuff to make. I don't know how I'm gonna do it, but I'm sure it will work out. Thank goodness DP is a champion cook and helpful. I think I'll need a good lie down on Sunday.

I know what you mean about losing your post. That has happened to me a couple of times. Doesn't it give you the $hits!

Jen - AF has returned? I guess from your reaction, you're not happy with that? Wanna swap? I'm sure you'll say yes. We'll start trying for another bub as soon as mine returns. How many breastfeeds is Lila having now in a 24hour period? Just trying to guage it, although I know we are all different. Get into that chocolate!!


Ang - That's great that N's chiristening went so well. What a good little girl!


AFM - Lily has now slept through 3 nights straight (10-11 hours). Boob expolsion!! I wonder if she is just catching up on sleep after her cold or if this is it

Joey that's awesome that Lily is stretching out for some long sleeps for you! Woot Lily, big claps!

Since AF returned, I have no idea what my cycle is doing, and DP & I aren't really trying if you know whay I mean, but at the same time we're not NOT trying! So I'm secretly hoping we conceive a little bundle sooner rather than later. It would put a spanner in the works for me returning to work, but to be honest, I never really wanted to anyway! Well, not my old full time job. I'll just teach pilates to earn a living and have a lifestyle change.

My oh my what a big weekend we had. Cooked most of Friday getting food organised. Spent Sat morning at a friends place cooking bakes etc as she has a giant oven. Then final preps Sat arvo, and the party was a huge success. MIL was truly surprised which was nice. I worked my butt off and almost couldn't walk by the end of the night, but it was worth seeing her happy. We woke up SOOOOOOO tired on Sunday, only to head to a 1st birthday & christening and see most of the same people again! But thankfully we could sit around and eat & drink rather than do everything. Still cleaning up and putting everything away, but we'll get there.

Poor Will had such a big weekend. He woke this morning, had a bottle and then went straight back to sleep - he's still there! I'm making the most of the time & catching up on my washing. We've got a week of scorching weather here so it will dry nice & quick.

Will was 5 mnths old yesterday, how the time flies hey girls? Before we know it they'll be one. EEEEK.

A spanner would go into our works too. I'm going back to work part time in April. It would be interesting if I turned up and said, 'oh, by the way, I'm UTD'!!!!!

Joey I think you're right, we're going to have a sleepy day here. Will woke at 8am for his first bottle and went straight back to sleep - woke up at 11am. I had to go out for an hour to do a few quick things. Came home for another bottle and he's been down for almost an hour & a half since then. He was such a party animal! I think the heat might be affecting him a bit too. I ain't complaining though, Im getting through the mountainous piles of dirty washing that have invaded my house!

How is everyone?

We've had a busy couple of weeks - had a couple of sick kiddies for a few days (some sort of virus, ended up being pretty mild but still made them both cranky), followed by 5 days away on the sunshine coast with Dh, the kids and my Dad who came up from Syd. It was wonderful but just cannot believe how long it takes to get everything organised to go and just how much stuff we have to bring now! Almost need a holiday when we get back too, lol.We have absolutely nothing on this weekend and we're loving having a quiet one at home.

L is going great - has rolled a few times but doesn't seem to be too fussed on it really! Has discovered her feet and toes - even caught her munching on them yesterday. She is really wanting to sit up and can see her getting a little bit stronger in the back all the time. Let solids go while she was unwell and while we were away, but started offering her a little bit once a day again a few days ago and she is loving it - particularly the pear and rice combo. She slurps it off the spoon and polished off about a tblsp yesterday. Sleeps have been awesome for the last week and a half and she now averages about 10-11 hrs o/night. Cannot believe that I take her for her 6 month check-up in 2.5 weeks! How did we get to be halfway to 1 already??!!

Hi everyone,

It's been a bit quiet in here lately. I guess everyone is just plodding along. We are 9 days away from starting Lily on BLS and turning her car seat around, so exciting times are coming .

She is still sleeping through most nights from around 7pm till 5.30am, although she woke at 10.45pm last night and again at 5.15am this morning but DD got her and brought her into me in bed. Wasn't that nice!

Now time for a b!tch ... how are all of your tummies going? I got asked this morning at netball when my baby was due. I am sooo p!ssed off! I am exercising EVERY day of the week. I either play netball, run 3km or swim 1km and this Saturday I am doing a swim, run, swim at Suttons beach. (Swim 750m, run 1.5km, swim 500m). Mind you, I have been enjoying my chocolate lately, but hell, I'm not going to turn into a rabbit! And what kind of a person asks that unless you look 9 months pregnant anyway! What a cow. I am so angry. That's the only part of my body that I am not happy with at the moment and then she goes and says that. I have just POAS to make sure ... going to check it now (but I know it'll be BFN, AF isn't even back yet) .... yep BFN. COW!

Anyway, other than that, all is going really well for us at the moment.

Hey all

Joey, I meant to post in here last night but time just got the better of me. You're right, just plodding along in busy baby land!

We had a bout of gastro go through the house last week, right in the middle of a stinking heat wave too so that was fun NOT. I've never been puked on so much before. Poor Will got it first and hardly kept any milk down for days. DP got it, then me. YUKKO. But it was a quick recovery so that was good.

Coming up to 6 months is so exciting isn't it. Solids are on the horizon for us, but I'm not going to rush things with Will. He hasn't shown a lot of signs that he's ready so I think he'll end up playing with food rather than eating it but we'll see how we go. We won't turn the car seat around for a while, he's still a bit of a light weight! He is rolling around everywhere, babbling heaps and just a generally happy and content little guy.

Big BOO HOO Joey to the cow who asked you when you're due. What kind of person really asks that question in real life anyway? I mean really. Its just a no brainer. What a numbskull. You are so fit, and going by your pics on FB you ain't got nothing to worry about gorgeous. My tum is certainly saggy from having Will, and probably some days if I'm a bit bloated pokes out more than it did pre-pregnancy, but I would be horrified if someone asked me that. We're meant to have a bit of a gut. That's what my Nan tells me anyway - to carry and nurture our bubbas. So poopoo to that silly lady. I would have smacked her one.

I've picked up some part time work at my pilates studio, not teaching yet, just doing desk & reception duties for them. Taking care of bookings and fees etc. The guy who normally does it (its a husband & wife team who run it) fell off a ladder a few weeks ago and broke (get this!) his femur AND elbow. OUCHIES. He's ok thankfully, I'm just filling in until he gets back on his feet. Its good cos we need the $ really badly. The mortgage is biting big time. And it gives me some time to be an adult again! And Will is adjusting really well to being looked after by his Nannas. So that makes me feel better.

HI all

Still really quiet in here. Just popping in for a quick update. Will was 6 months old yesterday....what a milestone. How fast the time has gone.

Hes getting so active - rolling everywhere and getting into everything. He's starting to sit on his own more now too. Still over-balances most of the time, but he loves being able to sit up and see more and get involved. Tried him with some carrot last week and he sorta just played with it for a bit, got bored and then was completely disinterested! He got a few chunks down but not much. So we'll keep trying a few different foods over the next few weeks, see what he likes.

He's still sleeping at night which is great, and he's naturally fallen into a pattern of two sleeps during the day. Sometimes he'll have 3 depending on what he's been up to.

We put the xmas tree up last night, getting exciting for our first xmas as a family. Still haven't done any pressie shopping but it won't be too hard. We only buy for kiddies, so I'll get something easy & practical for neices & nephews. I'm the boring aunty! Not sure what to get for Will, he needs some more clothes so I think I'll splurge and get him some stuff to see him out for a few more months. He's only just growing out of 000 sizes!

Hasn't the time flown. We're all 6 months old (or close to it)

Lily has turned around in her car seat & tried solids. Last night she had broc, cauli, carrots and chicken for dinner. 2 nights ago she had mashed banana. She is LOVING her solids, but I only feed her them occassionally as I am not wanting her to drop her BFs yet. I'm sure she would eat solids every meal if I let her!!

She has started crawling too. Just about 4 arms and legs, then she'll sit and play for a bit, then go a little further. She also opened the bottom draw in the kitchen yesterday, so I am going to have to get some draw locks!

She's waking again at night, but just once, so that's ok. Rising time is stil 5.30am, and it's amazing how used to it I am. I used to bite anyone's head off if I was woken before 7am!!

We'll put our tree up on Friday cause BJ is home from school and she's really looking forward to it. I think it's a pain in the bum LOL

We have bought Lily a bike helmet, so I can take her on the back of my bike. I hope her head grows in the next couple of weeks cause it's still a bit big!!

Lily is down to 3 sleeps a day now, totalling about 3-4hours and at night she goes down from 7pm-5.30am with one wake. How are your babies sleeping?

She is BF anywhere from every 2-4 hours cause I will feed her before I put her down for a nap, so if it's not time for a feed I feed her anyway.

Of to the pool now to meet my cousin.

Hello all. We have been a bit slack in the solids dept with Natalya. My other 2 had started around a now, but I cannot be bothered! She is feeding really well still and certainly looks healthy - has the chubby thighs to prove it! Think I might start in a couple of weeks time when DH is home over xmas.

She has only just come out of the capsule and is now in her rear facing seat where I hope to keep her for some time. She is inbetween the other 2 in the car and loves interacting and talking with them. So sweet to watch and listen to. She is also still in the cradle in our room - woohoo- she loves being wrapped so unlike my others her arms hitting the sides is not an issue. DH has mentioned that once again over the xmas break he would like to see her moved into her cot...we'll see what mummy has to say about that!! Am loving having her so close and am really reluctant to move her.

Natalya is also doing plenty of rolls everywhere and loves to pull at my hair and gives lots of open mouthed kisses, she is such a sweet little thing. Has regressed a bit in that she is now waking through the night and wanting a feed so that is a bit of a pain.

Joey - Lily will look so cute in a bike helmet! Clever girl for being on the move so early.

Lolly - Natalya is in 00 sizes atm, am hoping she will be in 0 soon as I ahve some pretty summer clothes for her. Havent got much for her for xmas either.

Hope everyone else is well. We ahve an extremely busy next couple of weeks so am really looking forward to Boxing Day!!!

Joey - omg at Lily's crawling!!!! I watched the video of her on fb and that is completely amazing! I think you have a future olympic gold medallist of some sort there. And I'll bet she is loving facing the front in the car too.

Ang - thats great that Natalya still likes being wrapped ... Lila decided practically o/night a few weeks ago that she was sick of it and that was that! Hope you have a wonderful Christmas....

Lolly - Will's photos on FB are soooooo CUTE (I love blanket head - lol!). Great news about your PT work at the pilates studio - how are you enjoying it?

Yes, the bubs are now 6 months old - EEEEEEEKK! Seriously, I have lost a few months - I can't remember anything between July and September

Lila is going great guns, such a joy. Just a lovely happy bub 99.9% of the time. Lots of rolling now, a tiny bit of sitting up with heaps of falling to the side, loves to be held standing which I'm trying to limit (paed said too much can make them overextend and overarch their spines, but a little bit is all right). LOVING her solids and is having 3 bowlfuls a day of vegies/fruit/chicken/rice/porridge whatever is going. On top of this she is also having at least 3 to 4 bf a day and 2 or 3 bottles of formula. I've also given her some pieces of banana and avocado to have a play with which she's enjoyed, this afternoon she managed to eat about half the piece of avo. I'm just loving watching her discover new tastes and textures - such a fun time. Her sleeps are great too - normally goes from 7.30pm until 6am overnight. 3 naps a day, usually a couple of hours in the morning if we're at home, then a couple of catnaps. Still in her capsule as she's still on the smallish side - we return the hire capsule on 7 Jan (earliest we could get in). Happy to wait till then to swap her over into ds's old car seat.

6 month check-up went well and she had her jabs yesterday. Am sooooooo not wanting to be the one to take her again though (it just doesn't get any easier!). Have already told DH to book an annual leave day for her 12 mth needles

Other Lila news is that she had a uti a couple of weeks ago - took her to the GP after moderate fever and smelly wet nappies. Not sure how she got it - dr said it could be from wriggling in a pooey nappy (yuk). On antibiotics for a week which was very difficult, she didn't want a bar of it. Results from last friday's follow-up urine test were all clear which is great. Routine when bubs get uti's is to send them for a kidney ultrasound to check for structural problems (such as urinary reflux that can make them prone to uti's). We're off for Lila's scan next Tues am so hoping all will be ok - according to my mum I had urinary reflux when I was little so there is a good chance she'll have it too. Treatment isn't too bad if so. Will just be good to know either way...

Who on earth started that rumour Jen....they should be slapped. No seriously....slapped hard. hahaha, I don't really get into xmas that much, its so commercial and the family stuff that starts OMG I could really crawl under a rock right about this time of year. Oh well, must push on though!

That's no good about Lila's UTI - and how on earth do you get a urine sample from a baby can I ask?! I can just picture you chasing after her with no nappy on weeing everywhere! I do hope the ultrasound comes back clear though, its tough when they're not well. She sounds like she loves her food. Go girl! Will is still on the little side too so I'm not looking to change his car seat around anytime soon.

Ang - I've been pretty lazy with solids too. We tried Will with some carrot last week and he sorta didn't really care that much about it so I thought I'd wait a bit longer and try some new stuff. I figure he's not going to waste away (even though the MCHN tried to tell me otherwise - but that's a whole different thread!) I tend to take what they say with a grain of salt these days. Its as if every baby is the same to them.

We had needles today....the shriek gets bigger every time! Poor little guy. But once he's distracted he's fine though.

I'm thinking about changing my username too....not sure yet....I *thought* I was being stalked by someone here on BB so wanted to put them off the scent, but I'm not too worried anymore. I was thinking of changing it to 'Infinity' what do you think? I've decided I like it now so might change it anyways!!! We'll see. I've always wanted to get the infinity symbol tattoed on my back, representing there being no end to DP & I and now Will as our little family. Very deep I know! LOL

Jen - I'm actually loving the part time work. It will only be until the end of Dec when the studio closes, but it made me see that Will loves getting out and about with other people (his Nanny's babysit for us) and that he's FINE. That was just something I needed to get over I think. Plus its helping bring a little bit more $ in which is much needed. And a step closer to teaching next year! WOOT!

I absolutely LOVE your idea for a new user name lolly. Was thinking of changing mine too but couldn't come up with anything I liked! A little bit scary that you even thought you were being stalked - goodness me... Oh and the tattoo sounds lovely

And the christmas rumour is just rude!! We pretty much had presents sorted (ie didn't think we were doing any for grown ups either which considering we're on one wage is GREAT) until mum called during the week with a list of present ideas for every single one of the adults. Far out! So I completely hear you on the family fun stuff. But on the other hand we have a very extremely hugely excited 3.5 year old so that will counteract any bahumbug-ness that tries to surface I think I'm meant to bake some stuff too for xmas day (which I normally love doing) but a wildberry baked cheesecake from the cheesecake shop is looking good right now!

Chasing Lila around with a jar to collect a urine sample was one option the dr discussed (seriously!) but we decided to go with these special stick on wee collection bags instead. Not too bad, but still a big process cause I had to give her a bath first each time, then stick the bags on, then get the bag off again (ouchies! They use such strong adhesive, poor little poppet), then put the sample into a little jar then zoom off to the pathologists to drop it off!

Glad you love the pt work, it is nice to realise that your bub is ok when left with someone else for a little while. And exactly right, the $ certainly would help. Looks like I'll be going back 3 days/week in Feb or March which I am ok with. Could be a SAHM for a long while yet, but am happy with that compromise, and am very lucky to be able to do the type of work I do pt

Better dash - Am heading off to my work Christmas lunch today. Looking forward to putting a pretty dress on and actually doing my hair and make-up.... Lots to get ready before I can escape the zoo (lol!)

Hi lovely ladies & bubbas

Despite the fact that I'd prefer to crawl under a rock and hide right at this time of the year, I did want to come in and wish you and your beautiful families a happy christmas. I hope the next few days are filled with laughter and smiles for all the right reasons.

We're keeping it pretty low key - doing the family lunches & dinners to keep up appearances (which I hate) but just focussing on the important stuff for ourselves and Will. I'll be happy when the world returns to normal LOL!
