Babies Born~June 1st-15th 2009 #1

Gee, very quiet in here isn't it. I just don't get the time to sit down and post for long. Young William keeps me rather busy ;)

Hope all of you and your bubbas are going well. Since I've been in here last Will had his needles (not much fun for either of us) and his check up. All going really well. We've had our first little holiday as a family, we travelled to Broken Hill to see my Nan and show Will off. He travelled in the car really well. And he's generally a really good baby - sleeps 9-10 hours at night, is generally pretty happy and content, and is very alert and active, lots of smile and giggles. We have great little baby conversations together!

Had to take him to the dr today though, he's gradually become more unsettled over the last 48 hours, lots of crying like he's in pain. No temp, just unsettled and clingy. We suspected a sore throat and the dr confirmed it for us this morning, very red and inflammed poor little guy. She swabbed it to see if its a bug, if so we'll need antibiotics but I'm hoepfully with some panadol and TLC he'll get better. Must be horrid for them, i know how miserable I get with a sore throat.

A q for you all - what sort of nappies are you using i.e. disposable or cloth...I'm about to start building up a stash of cloth nappies, and would be interested to hear from any of you that have used them?

Going to book Will into swimming lessons soon - they can start at our local centre at 4 months, and his daddy is going to take him. We spend a lot of time at our beach shack during summer, its so important for them to learn those skills.

I know lots of you have other kiddies as well as your new bubs....how long after each one did you know you were ready to go again?!? Before DS was born I was sure I would wait at least 12-18 months before thinking about conceiving again. NOw that he's arrived, I feel like I'm ready to go right now! Might sound corny but I think I've found my calling so to speak! I just really enjoy being a mum and could do it all again in a heartbeat even though we had a bit of a rough start. PLus I figure we're in baby mode, so logistically it makes sense in many ways.

Lollybaby. we are using MCN's. I was very lucky as a friend had a collection that I was able to borrow to see what suited Pia. As she was very small at birth, there was not a lot of variety for <3kg, however the Monkey Doodlez, Happy Heineys and thirsties were all good. the HH were a pocket nappy, and the other 2 are AIO. as she is now a bit bigger (3.6kg) she is fitting into a wider variety. we will be sticking with AIO/AI2, and have found the Itti Bitti to work really well. I found that fitted nappies where I had to add a cover a waste...not really any cheaper, and you are having to twist and manouver bubba more - once to get the nappy on, again to get the cover on. We still use a disposable at night.

I'm keeping an eye out for the Itti's to come on sale, then I'll be adding to the collection. Love them, and can't wait for the warmer weather to show off PIa's bottom ;-)

Just thought I'd add my two bits as well. I had a little girl on 4th June also. 3.18kg's 48.5cms, via elective C-Section (she was a breech baby, stuck right up under my ribs).

Interested to know how your babies are progressing, how sleep is going and feeding etc.

I didn't have a chance to join any mothers groups, so would be interested in keeping in touch with other Mums who have babies around same age...

Hello and welcome Jo! Congrats on the birth of your little Erika - she and my Lila share the same birthday :) Hope everything is going well for you...

Been ages since I've posted - hopefully there is still someone around?!

Update on us - Lila is 12 weeks old now and still going really well. I had a hair appt last weekend (feels so nice to be refreshed!) and dh was going to give her a one-off bottle of formula but she wouldn't have a bar of it. Luckily I'd bought a pump the day before and had a little bit of EBM for him to offer her, which she guzzled happily so it's obviously not the bottle that's the issue, but what goes in it! I've been expressing once a day to build up a bit of a supply to give myself the odd bit of freedom, and also plan on giving her EBM when I have to go back to work (probably March-ish) so it's good to get it into the routine.

She is down to 6 feeds a day, sometimes 7, and has done a few 9.5hr stretches overnight but mostly her big stretch is 6-8 hrs. Still hanging onto one feed between 3-4.30am then 7.30-8am then a big sleep which is great to let me get ds organised for the day. Aside from witching hour every evening she is still a star at self-settling - we're very very very lucky ;)

She's still a petite bundle, has only just reached 5.1kg but is going to be a tall girl we think - already 60cm.

Otherwise just chugging along enjoying my time with my kids and have started ds back at swimming lessons. Now he's 3, I don't have to get in the pool with him which is GREAT, but it does feel really good to be getting back into the swing of things ;)

lolly - we're using disposable nappies. Love the look of the MCN though, wish I'd known about them when ds was a bub so I could have built up a collection then! Re how long between kids - it's around this time when things start to settle down a tiny bit that you can even start contemplating another bub! so I can see where you're coming from.... I was enjoying ds so much as he went from bub to toddler that I wasn't in a huge rush ... originally we started trying again when ds was about 18 months and have now (sadly after going through 2 m/c) ended up with a 3 yr 2 mth age gap which is working really well for us. There is adv and disadv for every kind of age gap though - GL with whatever you decide. Great that you are feeling so positive about being a mummy :)

Can't wait to hear everyone's updates - I expect them all to come flooding in now (lol!)

Hi all!!! Sorry I haven't been on, I have been too preoccupied with finalising everything for my wedding in 4 weeks time :D
Lachlan is plodding along nicely, he'll be 12 weeks on Monday. He now weighs 6.5kgs and is 64cm long - I definitely think he's going to take after Daddy (who is 6"9). He is sleeping on average 8.5hrs every night, and has had a couple of 11hr nights also (which of course frightened me, and I woke up twice and tickled his nose to make him wriggle so I knew he was OK!) He's having 6 x 190ml bottles every day, and also a 60ml bottle of water most afternoons. The main issue I'm having at the moment is addressing his flat spot on the back of his head, I'm trying desperately to give him as much tummy time as possible and get him used to sleeping on his side, fingers crossed :crossfingers:
Sorry if I go AWOL again, but it's getting to the business end of preparations now, hope you and your bubs are all well :)

Hi all. Back from an awesome week skiing. Well, we've been back for 2 weeks now, but have only just gotten around to BB again. Not that I've been extremly busy, but you've got to be in the mood to sit and type!! The week was great, but I was in tears a couple of days, but no one could see under my big goggles, because I was suffering terribly without Lily, and the fact that she picked up a cold in the day care down there didn't help at all. I felt like a terrible mother cause I was off skiing and she was in some strange place with a stuffy nose. But other than that we all had a great time. She is pretty much over her cold now, just a little stuffy every now and again. Oh except for the car drive down there NEVER AGAIN. We ended up flying home. The second day was better than the first, but the poor little muffin just wanted a lay down and kick, and the 30 min stop every 2.5 hours wasn't enough. So now she hates the car, although she is slowly getting better again. I think she is worried when we put her in there that she's never going to get out again!! Although we're heading to Byron Bay next weekend, so maybe we'll go at her bed time so she can sleep the whole way. Hopefully!!

Her sleeping seems to be all over the place. Some nights she wakes me just once around 1.30pm (that's the usual), but some nights she'll wake up around 12 and then again around 4. Last night was just 1am, so that's good.

Went to see a friend on Tuesday who had a baby. He was born bigger than Lily, but I couldn't get over how small he was. I really didn't think that my gorgeous little girl had grown SO much :(

How are your bubs feeding during the day (the BF ones)? Lily is on 2.5 hours most of the day, unless she sleeps longer. But sometimes I really need to play with her lots to get her mind off food at 2 hours! She usually have 30-60 min sleeps during the day and then is awake for around 1 - 1.5 hours before her next sleep and her 2.5 hourly feeds just fit in around that. Interested to see what routine your bubs have.



Jenushka - she went fine with her immunisations. A little more clingy than normal, but other than that, all fine. Is Lila still doing 9 hours at night? That day that she screamed for 4 hours ... are you BFeeding? Did you have too much coffee or chocolate? I don't drink tea or coffee, but too much chocolate make Lily very unsettled.

Good idea that you're introducing the EBM to Lila. I gave Lily EBM in her first month of life, but then had no need for it, so stopped. Then a week before we went skiing tried her again, and she wouldn't take it!!! So she's almost got the hang of it again, but still fusses a little bit. I try to give her one bottle of EBM a day if I can just to keep her in the habit. How many ml's does Lila take. Lily is taking 70-100ml.


Elliskirsty - Lily sometimes settles herself in her cot (in the middle of the night always), but during the day I normally pat her bum until she is struggling to keep her eyes open and then i leave.

Lollybaby - we use disposables. I have an 11 year old, but we're not using any protection, so we'll just fall pregnant as soon as it happens - although I have been told you need to have sex for that to happen!!! I am also LOVING being a mum. So much more than I remember last time.

Jo - Hi and welcome!! Erika was born one day before my little Lily. What part of Australia are you in?

CB - I know you can get helmets for the flat spot on their heads. Perhaps look into that if you think it's bad enough. Can't wait to hear all about your wedding!!

Lolly - We use cloth (gets expensive with 2 fulltime and 1 night only in nappies!) and with MCN I am glad we made the switch. I still use sposies every now and then, but only when I have to. Em is in sposies at the moment to clear up a reaction with her dietary issues but Leah is in cloth. I might need to get some more disposables though because my washing machine died today :doh:

Leah is going well. Gaining lots of weight, and becoming more and more alert. She discovered her hands the other day and has had them in her mouth ever since.

I just realised I said in my last post that at the 9week check up for Miss C, that she was 41cms!
She was in fact 59cms! LOL. What a bird brain I am!

Miss C is in disposables.

When Lily was born I told everyone she was 10lb 8oz ... she was 8lb 10oz!!:rolleyes:

I can empathise with the baby brain - I seem to have completely lost almost my entire vocabulary. I keep saying stuff like "you know .... the thing ... the thing in the thingy?" hehe

Just saw on the news a baby boy was born in Romania weighing 6.8kg / 15lb :o - he's still almost 2 kg heavier than my little Lila is at almost 3 months!!

joey - glad you had a great trip away (except for Lily's cold and the drive down). And have a great time in Byron - I'm very jealous ;)

Ali - great to hear from you. Glad Leah is doing well. Lila has found her hands too and everyone keeps telling me she is hungry - I'm getting tired of saying that they're just her new toy!

Clare - gl for your upcoming wedding. Hope the preparations aren't too hectic. Wow at Lachlan's weight gain. Sounds like he loves his bottles which is great.

Not much other news from us. Lila is still going aaages between poos. She did a massive one on Saturday - filled her capsule and her country road jumpsuit (naturally) and that was 17 days since she'd last gone. Didn't use suppository this time as she wasn't bothered at all, and the CHN said that bf babies can actually go up to 3 weeks. So gross though - glad DH was around as it was definitely a 2 man clean-up job!

Jenushka - I can't beleive Lila is going so long. At least you're saving on nappies between poos, even if it is a ginormous clean up job!! :)

Lol! Yep joey, thought we were saving on wipes especially but would have gone through at least 2/3 packet getting her cleaned up enough to get in the shower with DH for a final rinse-off ;)

Anyone doing anything nice for fathers day? If it's nice weather we might go for a drive up to Mooloolaba beach for the day and have lunch up there. I bought some canvases from the art shop and did paint stamps of the kids feet to give DH with his very exciting torch that he'd asked for. Have also got an "I love my Dad" shirt for Lila to wear that used to be ds's, and ds will wear a "My Dad Rocks" shirt - hehe! What has everyone else got planned?

We're having brunch at one of the local vineyards, and taking Matt's Dad too. They have lovely food, lovely wine and a beautiful view over the Hunter Valley. Can't wait!!

We're doing the footprints on canvas thing too.

We're going to Byron Bay for the weekend, but back Sunday morning to see Dh's dad and then my dad's coming over for lunch.
DH is getting a sprinkler, a rake and, if I can find the right one, a shovel!! All things he has asked for.

Hey Jenushka, we're going out to Cleveland this arvo to see the filming of the Narnia movie out at the point. Have you seen any of it? Any good?

Lily is playing up with her sleeps during the day at the moment. She's sleeping fine at night (thank goodness) and also in the car, but doesn't like being put down in her cot. Also my mum is down for 8 days, arrived yesterday from Cairns, and as lovely as it is having her, I didn't realise how much I appreciate our quiet time, just the two of us. I think Lily has picked up on that and I think that's why she's not going down so easily. So now I feel grumpy and teary. :( Anyway, she's down now, so I hope she has a nice big sleep and wakes up happy. Although the fact that she wasn't happy to go to sleep makes me think she won't have a very big sleep.

Have any of you read the 'No cry sleep solution'. Some bugger keeps out bidding me on ebay. Is it good? I have heard that it is.

Sorry I've been mia - I had a lovely visit from my Dad who flew up from Sydney last Thu to surprise me :) It was great to spend fathers day with him - we ended up just having a seafood bbq at home and it was awesome - beautiful weather too. He flew home yesterday but should hopefully be back in a couple of months for another visit.

We're doing well, can't believe Lila is 3 months old now :o Love this age - super gorgeous. This morning when we put her on her playmat she planted her feet, lifted her bum up and almost rolled! Just reminds me how quickly they change and grow in their first year. She loves sitting up in her bumbo chair now and being able to see what's going on and wave her toys around and chew them a lot. And in the poo adventures ... she did one on Sunday which was only 8 days since the last one. Def caught us by surprise!

joey - hope you had a great time in byron. Did you make it out to see the filming? We're about 20 mins from cleveland so haven't seen any as yet. I haven't read the no cry sleep solution - hope you do manage to get a copy on ebay though. gl with Lily's day sleeps...

What a lovely surprise for you Jen! I miss my Dad on Father's Day with him being in Melb... Oh well only 2 weeks and all the family will be together for my wedding! We did have a lovely day on Sunday, although we had to wait 45mins for our meals :(

Lachlan is 3months old today!!!!! I'm feeling the same as you Jen, I really can't believe it - he is growing up way too quick! He is so much more vocal now too, it is really cute to watch and listen to..

Well Lily rolled over from back to front on father's day! Happy father's day daddy!! She started rolling from tummy to back about a week ago, but I didn't count that cause she kind on just falls from her tummy to her side and keeps going.

We went to Byron for Friday and Saturday night and came back on Sunday to do the tripping around to the fathers. DH said he had a fantastic 1st fathers day, and loved his present from Lily, a canvas with foot and hand prints on it.

Yes, Jenushka, we did go to see the filming. You can't hear them talk, just the guy going 'action' and 'cut' and you can see them from a distance, but nothing close up. I think it was still worth it though, cause when I take DD to see the film, we'll be able to say .. "we saw that!"

I have put a copy of 'no cry sleep solution' on hold from the library, so i am hoping it won't take too long for the person who has it to return it. if it's any good, i'll buy a copy as a reference. still watching them on ebay tho.

I can't beleive our little bubba's are 3 months old. Kinda sad :( she's growing way too fast!

Lily's day sleeps have settled back down and I think she's going though a growth spurt (looked them up on the net and 3 months is typical) cause she's waking twice in the night 12 and 4 and feeding about every 2 hours.

Sounds like everyone had a lovely Fathers Day.:) We went and watched DH play soccer and then stayed at the club afterwards for lunch then back home for me to cook DH his fave dinner. All in all a nice day.

Natalya is such a great little girl so far. She is just so placid and relaxed, still sleeping through the night anywhere between 10-12 hours and if we are home she will have abig day sleep of around 2-3 hours in the morning. DH and I really enjoy it when the other 2 kids are in bed and we have her to ourselves in the evenings, its a lovely quiet time for us all.

She is still in the cradle in our room and loves being wrapped, so hopefully she will get at least another month out of it. My other 2 grew so quickly and didnt like being wrapped so by this age they were out of it. Am not looking forward to when she is in her room in her cot, I get teary already thinking about it.

Stopping in before I head off to bed.
We're doing well here, busy, busy, busy!
I now have Master B in "Kindy" 1 day a week, so it's lovely to have roughly 6hrs of just Mummy & Miss C time. I am looking at putting Master B in for a extra day (2 days a week in total), as he really is enjoying it.
We are getting roughly anywhere between 8-11hrs through the night & if she does wake, I just pop her dummy in & she's back to sleep. Though if she does wake wanting a feed, then I feed her & she is straight back to sleep.
Miss C is feeding 3hrly & only having one big 2-3hr nap through the day.
3 months already! Injections again next month! EEP!

Joey - your new ticker photo of lily is gorgeous! And yay for Lily rolling :clap: Lila is still almost rolling - I remember ds 'almost rolled' for a couple of weeks before he actually did, am guessing Lila will probably do the same...

Monique - glad to hear you are getting a bit of time alone with Miss C. My ds is in kindy 2 days a week also and I think it is the best thing for everybody really - that way he gets a bit of a break from all things baby, and he gets to do a lot more creative things than I get to do with him. And yes, next needles are only a month away - eep indeed!

Ang - great to hear from you, and glad you had a lovely fathers day. Lila is still sleeping well in a bassinette in our room o/night too and still likes being wrapped even though she bursts out of it quite easily now! I think we're close to making the transition to cot and grobags very soon *sniff*

clare - how long now until your wedding? Hope the preparations aren't getting too manic...

Lila did a full on belly laugh today ... I was blowing raspberries on the palm of her hand and she started chuckling. The when I started laughing she started laughing properly too .... aaaah, so cute I could gobble her up :)

Jenushka - Yay for Lilia's laugh. How cute. I have only gotten a few little ones from Lily, but they are sooooooo adorable. I wish she would do them more often. I will have to try the rasberries in the palm! One day she was doing a couple of little giggles when I was holding her and then bending forward down towards my toes, then we stopped that, and I was walking out the back with her, and did a burp and she laughed!!! That was so funny!!

Hi all - hope everyone is going well. Not a great deal to report here, just that in addition to belly laughs, Lila is now blowing raspberries at every opportunity. Cracks me up hearing her lying on her playmat blowing raspberries at her toys :) We've also had air-con put in the bedrooms (used to only have it in living area) so bring on Qld summer! Glad that Lila will now be able to actually have afternoon naps in her bedroom.

She's also had 3 great night sleeps in a row (9pm - 6am-ish) which has been very welcome indeed ;)

Lily is still waking up 1 or 2 times a night. I am now feeding her at around 830pm when i go to bed, so i am hoping that will make her last a little longer. I've only done it twice, so i'll go for about a week and then make a decision.

The last 2 nights Lila has added an extra feed or two back in so the lovely long sleeps o/night have disappeared - ugh! Back to my semi-zombie state for a little while it looks like. Must be some sort of growth spurt...

Goodness its been quiet in here....i'm one of the culprits though :redface: busy times with little ones aren't they! And I only have one!

We are going really well. Will is a gorgeous little guy, even though I am a tad biased! We are so blessed he is a fabulous sleeper. He's averaging 11-12 hours straight through at night now which is just so nice.

And learning new tricks every day too. He can roll from tummy to back - as soon as you put him on his tum he just kicks straight over....so much for tummy time :rolleyes: and he can now roll from his back to his side, but hasn't quite got all the way over yet. Can't seem to figure out how to get that little arm out the way! We've got real giggles OMG so cute. And he's starting to blow little raspberries every now and then. He generally just talks away most of the time, he's a real little chatterbox.

We're getting out and about to a few groups with other mums and kiddies which is nice. The ABA has a local mums group which is nice to go to, even though i'm not BF they've been very welcoming. And the Birth Centre where Will was meant to be born, they've set up a group for mum's that want to support them so we're heading to that too. I'm thinking about a local playgroup too.

As for me, I'm starting to get more and more organised and getting more done each day. Trying to get on top of housework but it never seems to happen, and lets face it, its such a low priority really. I would love a tidy, clean home but oh well, we make do.

I'm starting to put some more time aside to finish my training to become a pilates instructor which is exciting. I've done pilates for years, and am currently sort of an apprentice to the woman who runs my local studio. I had a break to have Will, and now need to get back into the study. Hopefully by the start of 2010 I will be running classes eeeek! It will be good to earn a bit more money, and hopefully turn into a career change for me :dance:

Well better be off. We're heading to my Dad's place for lunch today which will be nice. Crappy weather in SA at the moment, i'm hanging for some sunshine! I think I'm deficient in something!

Jenushka - Lily has been waking more often in the night too. Last night it was twice (4.5 hours apart), the night before it was 3 times (3 hours apart). What happened to our 1 only wake???? I love your ticker. She's adorable!!

LB - I can't belevie you're getting so much sleep!! I'm very jealous! Funny how Will goes from tummy to back ... Lily goes from back to tummy all the time. And this morning she rolled the other way (normally she only rolls over her right arm). GL with your pilates and good on you for doing it while you have a bubba.

What's with this dust??? I have the whole house closed up and can hardly breathe!! It's disgusting!!

Jenushka & Monique - Most likely will be having a mum's meet up at my place next week, so will let you know if it happens. Would love to meet you both in the flesh! Let me know what day suits you.

Joey - the dust OMG! I've seen it on the news today, the whole east coast is covered and Sydney looks just outrageous.

And yes, we are very blessed with Will sleeping so well at night, I am truly grateful. Now the trick is me just getting to bed earlier. I end up staying up catching up on all sorts of things while he sleeps :doh:

Joey - how are you going researching your VBAC options....I've seen you post around the forums a bit. Good on you for thinking about it early and getting prepared. I desperately want a VBAC when we conceive our next bub. I'm still having days where i am very emotional about my c/s but I'm slowly finding my peace with it.

LB - You mean how am I going with my obsession!!?? Well I have found a doula who is a trained midwife, so I think she'll be the go.

I have also spoken to a friend of my mum's (who had a VBAC) and she has convinced me that I need to forget the whole thing and just let it happen. I really beleive that is the way to go and I am really going to try and do that. Who know's though, I have a very busy brain!

But I will definately definately have a doula, and if all is well with the pregnancy, I don't see why we can't succeed. Fingers crossed!

I too have days where I am really down about my CS, hence my obsession with VBA2C. :rolleyes:

Well, Lila must have heard me complaining about lack of sleep yesterday - she went from 7.30pm - 6am overnight :) Like lolly, I just need to get myself into bed earlier to make the most of it, but I feel like it's the only time I get to myself all day! I'd expected that when Lila woke up she'd realise she was starving and start screaming her head off, but instead she just started babbling away to herself and when I went in to get her she gave me the biggest smile ..... aaaaaahh :) Anything could happen tonight but it was nice to get a break from zombie-ness today

Jen - Will does the same thing in the mornings when he wakes up....we lie in bed and listen to him for ages just babbling and cooing away. Its the nicest thing to wake up to. And he gives us the biggest smiles to when go in to get him out of bed in the mornings. He's a happy little chappy :D

Joey - it sounds likes you're doing all the right things to get your VBAC. Its hard to try and 'let it all happen' though isn't it? I look back on how I was approaching things during my pregnancy, and what I did to prepare for birth. I was very focussed on achieveing a natural birth, I actually didn't even entertain the notion of needing a c-section and every now and then I have days where I beat myself up for not preparing myself better for that possible scenario (that actually DID eventuate unfortunately). DP has said a few times since the birth, lets never ever be unprepared for all possible scenarios like were were. He was just as disappointed as I was. But I'm not going to apologise for being firmly focussed on achieving the birth I wanted. Next time round, I'll still remain focussed but maybe with a slighly more open mind about how things might go.

We've got major thunderstorms in SA this week, and last night there were a few cracks of thunder that were SO loud. I felt the house shaking. They scared the crap out of me, I woke up startled holding onto DP. He rolls over and says to me....."can you go check on Will?'....and I'm like "yep, but only if you come with me!"....I was such a chicken. So off we both go into Will's room to see if he's been woken up. He was FAAAAAAST asleep. i think they probably startled him, but didn't wake him which was good. I was more scared then he was!!!!!!

Monique and Jenushka - If you're free next Monday around 10am (or earlier if you want) I'm going to try and oranise a few mum's to meet up at my place (mostly BB girls that I have met through other threads). Usually we just bring a plate of food to share (for the adults). I'm in Hamilton.

Jenushka - We'll start trying as soon as my period returns. But I'm BF exclusevly (sp?) so I don't know when they will return. Even though Lily's labour was horrible I can't wait to do it all again!! I know, I'm crazy!

LB - I was exactly the same with my pregnancy. CS did not even enter into my mind. I was so determined to have a VBAC. I just hope I can have a more open mind next time too. We'll see. :rolleyes:

Well Lily only woke twice last night and she's been a perfect baby today, so I don't know what has been going on, but looks like she might be going back to her usual self. I can't beleive, she had about half an hour tummy time out side on the varandah this morning all by herself with no entertaining, I just watched her from inside while I was on the computer. She was so happy and I think she would have stayed longer, but I felt so bad for leaving her for so long!

Go the Eels tonight!!! We're going over to my dad's to watch the game. The eels are my DH's team and the Broncos are my team, and they play tomorrow. If we both win, we'll have both teams in the final next weekend. I hope so.

How are your babies going with their sleep? Lily started sleeping from 7pm-1am then through till morning at 4 weeks, but hasn't done that for about a month now and over the last week or so she has been waking every 3-4 hours (she is being BF every 2.5-3 hours in the day). Any suggestions?? :rolleyes:

Joey - Natalya is still sleeping through, we havent had any change in sleeping habits so cant help you there nor offer any suggestions. Sorry - hope she settles down again for you soon tho.

Clare- Hope your wedding went well and it was a perfect day for you.

Lolly - Your little fellow sounds like Natalya, a really happy little thing who gives us the most fantastic smiles in the morning - some days it is a race between DH and I to get up so that we are the ones that get the smiles.:lol:It is a lovely way to start the day.

Natalya hasnt rolled over yet, I checked my other two's record books and they all rolled over around the 14 week mark so it should happen soon. Mind you, being the "baby" of the family she is constantly held and carried by everyone so I suspect she will be a bit slower in achieving her physical milestones then the others!! She was weighed and measured last week and she is 6.2 kilos and 61cm.

We have school holidays here in WA now so the next couple of weeks should be interesting!

Been a quiet week in here, hope you're all well.

FINALLY bubs is asleep in bed. It took me 2 hrs of up and down, feeding, rocking to sleep then putting him in his cradle only having him wake up again 10 mins later. Arrrrrgh. Thankfully once he's down properly though he's there until morning.

DP is out late tonight, his band are playing a gig so its just me and the computer now that Will is in bed. Some chocolate wouldn't go astray LOL! Hmmmm maybe I've got a Magnum stashed in the freezer....have to go check that out later :D

Been watching the movie 'Knocked Up' on telly tonight, pretty funny.

Joey - how are Lily's nights going this week? Apart from a growth spurt or a wonder week, I dunno mate? Do you wrap her at night? They're little mystery creatures some times aren't they?!

Will has his 4 month jabs next week, not looking forward to that. We've also had poo problems....poor little guy. He's had a few that are fully formed, like adult poos (not that big though) just not runny like baby poo should be. And he had such a hard time getting them out, not fun at all. He's on formula so they've just suggested giving him plain water a bit each day to see if it resolves. We'll have to wait and see. If it doesn't get better I'll have to try a different brand.

Other than that, he's a happy little guy. I reckon teeth are gonna happen sooner rather than later. He is gumming EVERYTHING he can get his little hands on. And drool city!

As for me, I managed to clear out my neglected veggie patch today. After Will was born, it got pretty low on the priority list. Now its time to get organised to plant our summer crop. I can't wait until Will is old enough to 'help' in the patch!

Hi All! What on earth was going on with bb yesterday? I've been awol yet again, have just been so busy - doing what I'm not exactly sure! Have had a weekend a week or so ago at my MIL's place on the sunshine coast - that was nice, and we've just had a lot of stuff to get done around the house too which has kept me busy. Oh, and the kids too ;)

We had Lila's 4 month check-up and needles with the GP yesterday, and all is going great. My petite miss is still on the titchy side though - 5.5kg, 63cm long and head circ 39.5cm. Her weight has dropped down a bit on the charts so am on a program to beef her up a bit - instead of feed-play-sleep, we're going to do feed-play-feed-sleep. Lila seems to be enjoying the extra feed so far, and was back doing a 8 hr stretch of sleep o/night :). May even try offering her a bottle of formula once a day if she'll take it... Dr said she was very happy with how she was going, she's hitting all her milestones and that she would look at the baby before looking at the numbers which was reassuring, and seeing as though her length puts her on 75th centile she is prob investing all her energy in getting longer! Will take her back to GP in a month for a check on her measurements just for my peace of mind. DH reckons I'm not happy unless I've got something to stress about (lol!). It's just weird having a little bub - my ds was always such a big boofa!

She did well with the needles, only a little cry, and managed to get most of the syrup stuff in her mouth this time. I also got the swine flu jab - GP told me it is free for parents of 0-6 month olds - so I felt Lila's pain! DH is heading off to get the jab this afternoon...

Lolly - LOVE the avvy! Hope Will's poos don't keep hurting him (poor little guy). GL with his jabs. I clicked on your FB link but it just took me to my fb home page. I'll PM you my name so you can add me if you like :)

joey - how are Lily's nights going this week? The GP told me yesterday that the recommendation for starting solids is to now offer it from 4-6 months. Could always see how she goes with it - might even resolve the sleep problem perhaps? I offered Lila some rice cereal yesterday, don't think she's quite ready though. Started ds at 5 months, will prob do the same with L. And bugger about the Eels loss :(

Joey & Jen - got you both on FB now, very cute photos of your gorgeous girls I must say! And can I just say how much i would love to be living in QLD right now. It is SO BLOOMING COLD in SA grrrrr (or I should say brrrrrrrr!) I can't believe its October and its still freezing. We're starting to get some sunny days which is nice, but its still freezing and I am totally OVER IT. I feel the cold really badly and we live in a cold part of the hills in Adelaide, but this is just ridiculous. We got first electricity bill since Will was born and it was not pretty let me tell you that. I want a holiday somewhere warm and sunny....waaaahhhhhhh :cry: maybe then I might de-frost a bit.

We had 4 month jabs yesterday. Poor Will, big cry when the stick them in and then a bit of a sook and cuddle with mum. I put him down to dress him and he just starts laughing and blowing raspberries as if nothing happened. So thats good he took it all in his stride. They don't seem to affect him too much afterwards either which is good.

Well as for me, I'm a tad frustrated as I've been left with the organising of my MILs upcoming 60th surprise b'day party (in a few weeks time). My SIL was meant to have it under control (or so she said) but it turns out no-one's talked to anyone and nothing has been finalised. I got a venue organised this morning which is a start and am about to TAKE CONTROL. I hate it when people can't be honest about taking on this kinda stuff. If you can't do it, don't offer.

We're off to mum's group this arvo so that should be nice. And I have my house being inundated with blokes this weekend.....Bathurst is on of course. DP makes his own timber slot car (you know scalextric cars) tracks and has a giant one in our shed. They race like its the end of the world. I'm leaving the premises on Sunday when it all gets to serious! And I'm not cleaning until next week, cos if I do it today, it will all just be undone.

Quick post from me as it's very late and waaaaaay past my bedtime...

Just wanted to say lolly and joey how lovely it has been seeing you on fb - what gorgeous bubs you both have! Lolly - Will is an absolutely beautiful boy and looks like he has as much hair as Lila! And joey, love all the photos of Lily's beautiful smile, and super wow at her rolling.... In one of your video clips she rolls and then does an almost crawl :o I reckon you've got an early walker there hun! And you both kind of looked how I'd thought of you in my head ... weird hey?!

Lolly - will happily house-swap with you (lol) - I am a definite cold-bug and often wonder what on earth I was thinking moving to brisvegas! GL surviving the bathurst onslaught this weekend, and also with sorting out your mil's party - how frustrating!

Other update from check-up I forgot to mention was that Lila has a mild flat spot on one side of her head. Not bad enough to be referred to anyone yet but we now have to constantly make sure she isn't lying on that side in her cot (have switched ends and she sleeps with a rolled up cloth nappy wedged under one side), on her playmat, in the pram etc. Guess as long as it doesn't get any worse we should be right. And she has enough hair to cover it anyhow! We didn't have this problem with ds as he never slept and never wanted to be put down anywhere so its all new to us ;)

Just a quick post from me, I've got a rotten cold and the house looks like a bomb's hit it! Thanks to everyone who sent me well-wishes, the wedding was everything I could've wished for (excluding the dust storm we had at 6am that morning, and the strong wind that we experienced the WHOLE day!).

Hope everyone is plodding along nicely, will try and catch-up with all posts over the next week or so when I get some spare time :)
