Well lets see, BHL has been talking more and more about moving out of Mackay in a years time as he knows I hate it and he isnt too fond of it himself, plus he is getting quite annoyed with his job, and is thinking of doing the course that will get him on the oil rigs, or a course that will get him to be a electirition ( as he is navy qualified but not civvy so needs to do a few more mods ), but all this is leading to us moving away from here, he has even been thinking about moving us back to Melb, ( will just have to get used to the cold weather and choose a house with better heating ) but I will not get my hopes up this is something he will have to decided himself as this is it we can keep movig around it cost us way too much plus Zayden will be in High school in 3 years so he really needs to be settled for those final school years...

Our NYE was brilliant. Had 3 other families come over for a bbq dinner and swim. It was so stinking hot, everyone spent ages in the pool. Then the big storm hit and everyone wanted to stay in, DH turned all the lights off and they all watched the storm in the pool. It was pouring down but they didn't want to move. It was great watching everyone have so much fun. Most of the adults spent time in the spa, it was weird sitting in there while it was pouring. Then it got really windy and stuff was blowing everywhere. The bigger kids got to stay up till midnight and then they were asleep by 12.15!!!! Poor things. Littlies went to bed around 10ish, and put up a bit of a fight.
Bath - I love the tightrope! Chelsea is really good at it. I was hopeless when I first started but getting the hang of it now. Skiing, not so good Sebel, you lucky girl! Sounds divine! Enjoy.
Maya - Earthly Treasures sounds great. Hope we can find a day to suit everyone. I have been checking out your pics and T is getting so big! Those cheeks are filling out, love chubby cheeks.

Tali - how fantastic for your sisters, you mum and dad must love having all these extra grandkids. My poor MIL will only have my two, BIL is not married and still lives at home (he is a bit of a loner) and is now 45 and not likely to marry or meet someone any time soon. I feel so bad for you, feeling so home sick. But Feb isn't far away, and you will have the best weekend. You should spoil yourselves and go for a spa treatment before the theatre. You deserve it. With regards to our meet up, I am on holidays until 19th Jan (and loving it!). I can do anyday next week, except 15th (Chelsea's birthday). And either Monday or Wednesday (week of 18th). Fingers crossed we can get together. Maya, I will bring the muslins for you!
Had my niece stay over last night and took the kids to the Collingwood Childrens Farm today, which was great. The cafe was delicious!!! The kids got to hold guinea pigs and go and pat goats, cows, sheep and pigs. Marley got the most excited when she saw the resident cat lol!

Both kidlets asleep and I should make a start on some sewing before it gets too late. I had a horrid day yesterday and I can't believe how normal I feel today. DP reckons I've run myself down with too many late nights and sent me to bed early last night, so it must have helped!
Gonna go now to see about this sewing and to look over the Sect 32 I was sent about this other farm thingy Chat soon!

Bath - have a ball at the Sebel and yes, it will be hot and you'll get plenty of use in the pool (pity you aren't staying till Monday, its going to be 41!).
Maya - yes, did think about lightening strikes, but nobody else seemed too! One of my friends DH is scared of storms. It was strange as I'm used to kids being scared but not adults and he wouldn't go in till the storm passed!! What breed are you checking out? Hope DP likes what he sees. Fingers crossed for your new property.

I had to take Chelsea to the dr yesterday as she has this build up of wax in her ear. And it won't budge. Tried Waxol and various other drops but its not softening it enough. She is having trouble hearing so thought dr better look at it. Thankfully she can see to the ear drum and no infection which means she can still swim (one of the first questions she asked the dr!!!). But now she has to go to a ear, nose and throat specialist to have it removed!!! $150 for the visit and it will probably take him about 5 mins to get out. Dr had to ring around so many as they are all on holidays. I was tempted to try and get it out myself but its too far in and I don't want to damage her ears. She just wants it out.
I also went to the dr today for something I have been putting off for ages. I've had bad big toenails for a while now one is getting so painful I need to take panadol before bed to stop the pain. Its excruciating some nights. DH and other friends have been on my back to get them looked at and I finally did It appears I have a nasty fungal infection but they need to grow cultures to work out what which takes 4 weeks!!!! She gave me some antiobiotics which may alleviate some of the pain. I had to go to pathology to get clippings taken from both nails and scrapings. I nearly hit the roof when she tried to cut my sore one - Chelsea was with me so I cried "SHOOT" when she hurt me!!! Chelsea thought that was rather funny!!!! Then the treatment could take up to 12 months to work. The medication she wants me to have is really expensive, but I can get it on PBS if they can prove there is a fungus present. Then I can get it cheaper which is a relief if I have to be on it for 12 months!!! At least its something and my toes maybe on the road to recovery - fingers crossed!
Mel - what about the ENT hospital in East Melb? They'd bulk bill you there They'll probably use a vacuum (risk involved, yaddiyaddah, but when you can't hear anything and it HURTS what are you gonna do??? I've had it done before - two days before a flight to Central America...had to be done). Good luck!
Looking at Friesian crosses (a pure is just way out of my reach and I'm mulling over a cross I think I can live with!) and Gypsy Vanners and looking into a mare to possibly mix the two myself at some stage to get horses for myself (and kids) and to sell when I get it right!

The ENT at Sth Melbourne will see you quickly if an emergency (so dr said) and technically its not an emergency as her ear drum etc is all fine. I suppose $150 is a small price to pay for being able to hear properly lol!!!

Been in the pool most of the day - its glorious! Will be loving it Monday when we reach a scorching 41 degrees! Chelsea has her 7th birthday next Saturday (16th) and she has been praying to God every night asking for it to be nice and sunny! Very sweet. I will be joining her I think, can't have a pool party without the warm weather - and no back up plan yet. They say 23 for Thursday and I hope it starts to get warmer. Please!!!!

Bath - have an awesome time away! Turns out I'll be at YV Sebel in July for this women in firefighting seminar weekend - not sure I'll stay there, but I'll be helping to organise and will speak with the lady there who offered me a complimentary 'sample' night (flights incl, had I been from interstate!), to see if I can get a night anyway and arrange for Oscar to sleep over at ML's...
Tallarah's just freaked me out today - moved quite a bit off her lambskin whilst on her tummy...I knew she'd be mobile sooner than Oscar was!

We're back! And yes... wish we could have stayed until tuesday to escape tomorrow's predicted 41 But the pool was lovely... even DH came in (he doesn't like water much) and Niall had his first swim in a big pool and loved it! They provide kick boards, floaties etc it was fantastic. We stayed in the Holly Suite... the same room we stayed in a few years ago... it was great to go back to somewhere familiar. Only downer was that Wade is unwell... temp and cough. But I'll be locking in thursday too.... surely he'll be better by then! Any sign of infection and don't worry Maya! We'll make a raincheck!
Sounds divine! Don't worry about infection - T has a throaty cough again (I think I'm the culprit this time, so she'll actually get healing antibodies! I've been running myself down again ), so she'll be at the tail end of her own lurgy, too!
Your comment about the boys fighting reminds me of what they are hopefully not like in 20 years! Our neighbours were out last night and their sons had a major falling out - someone in the neighbourhood called the police, but as we have a pretty clear view of their back deck (not the most salubrious aspect of living on hilly terrain!) we knew it was all verbal and no touching...but geez they were close! Apparently over a mobile phone Ah, brotherly love...they work together in the younger brother's fencing business!
Anyhow, planning to relocate with two dogs tomorrow (MiL away and won't be around to take them off the mountain with her dog). DP's aunt's AC isn't working, so she's probably not going to be there, so I'll use her yard for the dogs and stay close to the beach.
Oscar is being painful tonight, better tend to him so that he goes to sleep and I can pack some bags...

May is 7 this year, I still cant get my head around it, all my kids seem to old, our babies are going to be 4 this year where have those years gone...
Tali: thanks for your lovely comments regarding my avvy. The glass slipper is there just to extend upon the Cinderella theme of my previous avvy. The rooster is both Verity and representative of our real life chicken Tina that has become part of the family. The castle in the sky is our dream to own a home one day. DH will probably just make a brief appearance in this avvy... he is chuffed but fully understands that this is my place. Don't let your BHL feel that he is being neglected... just tell him that it's healthy to exist as independant people sometimes There's a thread about that somewhere LOL it leads to a better relationship in the long run. Sorry for the mini lecture!
I've been quiet because I've been in hospital since just after my last post with Wade who has pnuemonia! I found BB hard to navigate on my iphone so mainly stuck to using FaceBook for updates. Thanks to the girls who offered their continual support through FB too!
Since I have been back I've had avatar requests (eg Pandoras) and kinda got swept up in other threads as usual!
Looking forward to our rain-check meetup! Wade's recovery could be slow. He has only just woken up today (as has Niall who also has a mild temp and looks pale)... could take Wade a few weeks to get back to full health. I am praying he is better for his first day of school! So I don't want to risk tiring him out (his lung capacity is still diminished) and a relapse.

Isn't the weather lovely today Melbourne girls!!! If you like this kind of thing... cool, rain with hail periods! My lawns really need a drink! Also probably breathes a sigh of relief for people worrying about bush fires.
No, NOT lovely weather! I was meant to bring my horse up for the farrier and because of the rain I couldn't I had Oscar and Tallarah and there was no way I could manage both in slippery conditions (change of clothes is one thing, but settling an upset muddy boy AND consoling a wet, wind-blown little girl another!). So, terrible hooves for one more week. It is so cold up here, I'm resenting it! There's only one thing nice about it - the dogs are curled up together in their kennel
Anyhoo, yep, meet up was postponed till Bath can make it without stressing about Wade.
Bath - I wanted to offer going round to play with Niall, but Oscar has been such a little brat in the last week and a bit that I wasn't sure I could cope with him (Oscar, not Niall!). I've been pulling my hair out with him, but we seem to have turned a corner on the weekend...fingers crossed. I figured the slipper had something to do with DH and 'the dream'!
Tali - yep, Passionate Marriage by David Schnarch is really, really good reading for relationships (even when it's not in 'trouble'). 'Differentiation' is where you don't rely on the other partner's identity or on the relationship to form your own sense of identity, and this far more stable sense of self makes for a more enriching relationship because of what you both bring to it, rather that what each of you gets from it. It's not 'separation' and it's not about one person doing nothing and the other person having to rely on themselves for happiness. It's a great read, actually. I have yet to finish my copy, but it's good so far! It came recommended to me by my former neighbours and her sister and a mutual friend, before I saw it on here.
My sister is here and in East Gippsland with my parents, so I'll go up on Wednesday. Was goign to go to the protest outside the AMA offices, but I have to prioritise my sister's visit, I'm afraid. The weather looks like it wil be right up my alley when I'm there, so I anticipate hanging out at Lakes Entrance (the icecreamery!!) and Lake Tyers for a bit.
Weather held out for you, Mel!! I bet Chelsea slept like a log

Tali - party was ace!! The easiest one I have organised so far. Kids spent nearly the entire 3 hours in the pool and weather held out. Started getting cold as parents were picking up. They had pizza for dinner, birthday cake (I was so stoked with my treasure chest cake!!!) and then couldn't get back in the pool fast enough. DH, my brother and another friend were the life guards and stayed around or in the pool for the whole time. 16 kids to keep an eye on needed more than 2 eyes! Yes, Chelsea turned 7 and she seems to be really growing up. You probably notice that with May too? Just things she says make me laugh but she is growing up too fast. And our babies turning 4 this year!!! You couldn't get me off coffee for all the tea in China!!!! I love it too much.
Bath - poor Wade. Hope is recovery is slow and steady. How is Niall? Look forward to our next catch up. It's been a while since the last one.
Maya - I am with you, this weather is horrid!!!! Where has the beautiful sunshine gone??? Should be just right by the time you head up to see your sister, plenty of ice-cream eating days ahead!!! Chelsea was so cactus after her party. She had a late night Friday (the day of her birthday) with my brother and his girlfriend and IL's coming over. She hit the pillow and her eyes were shut!
The only great thing about all this rain - it filled the pool!!! And nearly to the top. After Saturday, it lost a bit. 16 kids doing bombs will do that! But it's now nicely filled and our solar blanket will arrive this week and then hopefully lose very little water to evaporation.
Back at work today, 4 weeks have gone so quickly. So far, not too crazy. Just my 300+ emails waiting for me - took me 4 hours to get through them. I must admit it's nice to have a bit of time away from the kids - they are starting to annoy the hell out of each other and me!!!! Marley is back at creche this week which will please Chelsea. No more defending her new stash of presents!!!
Ahhh, the headspace, Mel! Oscar is back at childcare today and I think I'm gonna LOVE my Tuesdays! I bought two frocks for cheap at Voski...cos there was no kid being a pain, just a sleepy T
Oscar is being a lot more cooperative in the last few days. For now, the fireworks appear to be put away.
Gotta put the girl down, get something to eat, prepare a dinner and pack for the week away...taking all my lovely new summer frocks! Going without DP till he meets us up on Sunday, so I reckon I'll have some photos taken of me in the interim - DP never takes any of me when we're away or doing something interesting I have beautiful photos of me with my mum when I was a baby and little because my dad photographed her when he could - I especially love the summer ones where she's in her pretty frocks. The kids will miss out when they get bigger and realise there aren't many pics of us together, as nice as it is to have a squillion photos that I've taken of them.
If I don't get on much, have a great week and more loves to Wade!
Hi girls, got a BFP last night Not ready to announce to the rest of the forum yet (I know this is not a private thread but YKWIM). Very happy but now worried about how hossy will know my dates - I have no idea how far along I am. This time I want a HB - Sunshine Hossy (12 mins away) does hospital supported HBs as part of a trial
