thanks insom!! my other baby group is really quiet and i wanna stay with u guys.
had my appt with my ob today. Hamish is 7 weeks today and i am still bleeding. found that the last week have been getting excruiciating cramps and overnight gave birth to a HUGE clot. ob said if bleeding hasnt settled by next week then i have to have a hysteroscopy where they put a camera up your vj and see into your uterus. they may have to check why i am still bleeding and where the clot came from. heres hoping i dont have to have it.
Yay! Baby buddies!!!
I'm sitting in bed typing this with Indy in the hug-a-bub cause he's having a grumbly "I don't want to be put down" day  He can have daddy cuddles when DP gets home so I can cook dinner!
How are you all? I haven't been on BB in ages!
I feel your pain B, Harri has days when all he does is feed for an hour sleep for 2 and then does the same thing again.
I got a bit peed off today, I'd told DP that I didn't really want visitors yet apart from family as we're still settling in and my family hasn't actually seen him yet. Low and behold though this afternoon while Harri was trying to sleep he says its ok for 3 different people to come over...then has to go to work and leaves me with them and dinner to cook. I told him I'm not happy about it so we'll see what happens when he gets home from work.
Teresa, hoping everything goes well for you at your appointment
Jelly, great work on the routine!
Meercat, as I've already put up, think sometimes the DP's need a good smack in the chops
Beata, we camped out in the lounge last night, he slept in the rocker, I slept on the couch, going to try and actually put him in the bassinet tonight though
Insom, I cry pretty much everyday either because Harri won't settle or I feel bad cause the house is a mess and its so small we can't fit everything in.
Morning ladies,
b, big hugs hun. I think all of our bubs have that 'unsettling' period anywhere between 4 pm to midnight. Well, mine does anyway and it's doing my head in ATM. As for the chucks, Cam has a wee one every now and then especially if I don't burp him properly. He has so much wind it's painful seeing him wriggle in pain and discomfort. I put 7 to 10 drops of the Infants Friens in his every feed but I'm not sure it's helping any...
teresa, glad you joined us here hun!! Hope you don't have to have the wee camera in there, and the bleeding settles down for you soon.
rooey, hello my dear!! Nice to have you here too finally. Glad you're doing well. Anything is worth a try with a grumble bum!
inSom, what rocker do you have hun?? I am at my wits end in the evenings when I just can't settle the devil child (as he is affecionately called between 4 pm til midnight)!! As for crying, well I usually have the odd burst of irrational thought when I want to give him back to my OB so he can put him back inside my tummy ;)
meercat, I've asked my DF to help with the night feeds...he refuses saying he doesn't want to disrupt my and his routine.....WTF???? I would give yours a slap like I have done to mine. Last night I pretty much washed my hands off Cam, DF was up and down with him until 11.30 pm, and ended up going to bed with the light on as he figured when the light is on it's too bright for Cam and he can't open his eyes, hehehehehe. Poor luv has to get up at 5.30 am for work so today he would have been buggered....oh well, welcome to my world buddy!
missawah, what rocker do YOU have?? Seriously I have to look into one. As for the visitors, I have had everyone under the sun flooding in since the day we came home from hossy. Mind you, mum has been a godsend as she normally comes for 1 to 2 hours every day so I can have my shower and pop into the shops for anything I need. She feeds him and settles him, so I can have a wee break. Pitty she can't come over in the evening when he plays up! She seriously thinks he is an angel, and doesn't grizzle much :o
I'm not 100% sure, but I'm beginning to suspect that maybe he isn't sucking properly b/c of him being tounge tied, maybe he is getting too many air bubbles in his tummy when he's feeding? I think I'm going to book a visit to his doc tomorrow, I'm seriously going to lose the plot soon if he doesn't settle in the evenings. He just farts ALL day long!!
Hi to everyone else! Will have to try and catch up on some sleep now.
B xxx
b, I hope it works soon too. Did it take a few days to kick in for your DD and your lil one??
i am using infacol for Hamish. he can be so stubborn sometimes bringing his wind up.
Hello ladies!
I like the sound of those wind drops! I think, judging by the farts Indy produces, he doesn't struggle to get his wind out!
How did everyone sleep last night? Indy had feeds about every 3 hours, not too bad!
my little man has been really unsettled since last night. was wide awake from 9pm until 1230 am. if i put him down he started to cry and the only way i could soothe him then get him to sleep was to put him on my shoulder and walk around the house with him. i tried rocking him in the rocker whilst i cuddled him but he didnt want that. i put him in his swing and he cried. so i had to walk around with him.
he has been unsettled so far this morning. i tried bf him earlier but he didnt take much. then gave him a top up bottle of EBM and formula mixed together. settled him for a bit but now he is starting to stir. i dont know what is wrong with him. he only quietens down when i pick him up and put him on my shoulder. trying to do housework but cant as he is so unsettled.
Hi!
Just a quick one from me - Jayden Luke arrived Mon morning at 5.55am. He weighed 3.68kg or 8lb 2, 54cm long and head circ 36cm. I had 8.5 hours of established labour overnight but I managed to go drug free and stitch free! So proud of myself and also very happy to say that after 4 boys my family is complete!!! He's so gorgeous though and although he looks a little like the others he's also very unique. I'm very excited to watch him grow and see what his personality will bring!
We came home on Mon as well and he's going well. Bfeeding is going great - just waiting on my milk to come in properly...I'm feeling good other than being tired of course and the afterpains this time are even worse!!!
I feel so skinny - hehe - even though obviously I'm not but it hasw been nice to have a big cuddle with dh without a tummy in the way!!
ok, will try and catch up properly later. Am typing with one hand while holding bubs...lol...
Hi ladies,
Nice to see everyone in here.
I am having issues. Because my dd and ds are shared care, i have been spoilt only having them 50/50. That and the fact there is a 7 yr gap between dd and Grace. I am really struggling with it, i cry everyday...i really hope it isn't turning into post natel depression.
Does anyone else feel this way? I really can't believe i feel like this...i wanted this baby so bad, how can it change the instance we come home?
con - big hugs. i hope u r ok. it could just be the blues happening. i cried on day 3, day 4, day 5 and then again on day 7. plus whenever we left Hamish at the hospital to go home. maybe see how u go over the next few days. have a chat with your DH and let him know how u r feeling. if u r still feeling this way after easter, have a chat with your doc. big hugs.
Afternoon ladies,
How are we all doing? Hope bubs arn't keeping too many of us up too late.
Con- since bubs is only 5 days old i would say it is just baby blues. When i was still in hossie I had times i felt i couldnt even look at Adrian and felt so bad that i didnt gush with love when i looked at him, and other times if he was crying and wouldnt feed properly i felt like screaming at him. I'm better now though and hopefully you will come good too. Let DH know how you are feeling and just keep an eye on it.
Krisvee- Congrats on the arrival of little Jayden!!!! Four boys!!! :o Wow, you have your work cut out for you!
AFM i have to say a feel a bit spoiled:redface: Adrian is still feeding every 3-4 hrs with big sleeps in between and usually only cries when he is hungry, no unexplained fussing or crying as of yet and thankfully only one early morning feed at 3ish. I hope it is not just a calm before the storm but am prepared for the worst if he decides to turn evil. :crossfingers: He burps well and has a bit of wind but otherwise is very calm when he is awake and just looks around at stuff and makes faces. He grumps when we change him because he doesn't like being nude, LOL.
Hope you all get some sleep and calm cuddles with your little ones.
PS, so many boys born this month!!!!
Hi ladies!
Hope you're feeling better soon, Con. I have been lucky, I didn't get baby blues, but I did watch Benjamin Button the other day and the end made me bawl :( I'm sure anyone who's seen it will know why!
Yay KrisVee! Glad your new little man finally made it into the world :D
Jelly, I'd be enjoying those big sleeps! Indy has times where he won't be put down without crying, so out comes the hug-a-bub! Thank God my friend and cousin suggested getting one, it's great!
AFM, the MCHN came out today and is very impressed with Indy's weight gain! He's added 150 grams in 4 days, which is apparently what they expect in a week. He's going to be a chubba!
Hope you're all enjoying your babies!
We just saw the community midwife as well- Tiah has put on heaps of weight and is in perfect health :) Made me feel so good to be told I am doing everything right and that Tiah is progressing as she should, being a first timer I have no idea if what I am doing is right or not!
We did tummy time this morning and she is already raising her head and looking around?!?!?! I thought this was something they do way later?
My little brother flys in from work tommorrow - I will be attempting my first solo outing with Tiah - an hour drive to suprise him at the airport.... I hope it goes ok!
b - we were told in the antenatal class that the gold brands have omega 3 in them which can make babies chuck and get constipated more easily. we just use the basic s26 and not the gold version coz of that. HTH
hamish is much more settled since DH got home. he gave him a bottle of EBM and formula and he drank it all and has been settled since. might have wanted daddy cuddles!!
b - i think we pay around $20 a tin.
Hi ladies,
Krisvee, congrats again on wee Jayden coming into this world finally! He looks so gorgoeus!
Con, big hugs from me too. I lost the plot on day 3 when they finally told me my breast milk wasn't enough for Cam and told me to top him up with formula. I cried every time I saw a midwife or DF. Then when I came home I wondered the same thing.....I wanted this bub so much, but so much has changed for me in terms of my life being completely flipped inside out! The lack of sleep, the breast feeding issues, losing my freedom..blah blah. I am feeling a bit better but I'm still struggling a bit. I would also suggest seeing a doc if things don't improve soon hun. You have to act quickly. I'm still seeing my psychologist so I know I can discuss things with her in 4 weeks when I see her next...oops.
Teresa, we had a horror night last night! Cam wouldn't settle from early evening to about 11.30, I thought I was going to lose the plot! AGAIN.
Jellymaker, so jeleaous of your good baby!!
Rooey, nice weight gain for your Indy hun!! You're going to be a great mummy :D
Meercat, I have to do tummy time soon too. GL with your solo outing tomorrow!
b, Cam doesn't spew much but he has got baaaaaaaad wind still :wall: The doc said he should improve by 8 weeks (OMG, another 6 weeks of this unsettled periods!!!). He said to give him the drops before his feeds, 3 times a day and also to hold him more upright.
AFM, I ened up booking Cam in to see a pedatrician (sp?) b/c I was worried about the tounge tie. He ended up snipping it and I was almost in tears. He cried for about 20 seconds and then settled down. And I've made a huge first mistake today. I forgot to pack his formula in the nappy bag!! Even though I fed him half an hour before we went out, I had no back up in case b/f went pear shaped!! Tonight I gave Cam a tiny bit of baby panadol and tried settling him lying on my chest. He fell asleep on it, and I put him down at 8.30 but he's stirring again. I'm going to give him a feed soon so I can go to bed too. Still feeling very tired!
BTW, when your bubs are sleeping, do you alter on which side of the head they are lying?? I have been putting Cam on his right side with every sleep so far, and the doc said I should start alternating as he is off balance in terms of his muscle structure in his neck...
