bron - i hope the brew works for you, chinese med are great. can acupuncture help?
lakshman still needs to be patted... and we havent got him a bed, we are looking into it. we saw some at ikea that werent expensive so will get one. and the problem w him is that he hates sheets over him, he will fuss and cry and kick them in his sleep. i was exactly the same when i was little. my mum said she had to cover me many times. it's so amazing to see he's got that trait from me haha.
and good job on the photography! well done!!
skye- that's fantastic news!!! wow!! hope he can stay there for a while yet!!

Bron - they are amazing how they relate things that we see as incidental (pimples) back to something that really is significant.
Took MJ to the Osteo 2 weeks ago and she confirmed wy suspicions, MJ's hip rotates inwards on one side (dysplasia) and we have two options.. cast or lots of appointments. I should have trusted my gut 2 years ago :( MJ has to build up more streght before it can be fixed properly and as she is so young she can follow nstructions for posturing etc etc so we have to encourage bike riding so she builds up her glutes (bum) muscles and swimming - not too hard to do, but it is the constant correcting that will be harder....
I am also going to she her in 2 weeks time to see if i really do have something wrong with my hips (the OB tod me thats why i ended up with a c/s) and figure that imight as well tr and fix it while i still am not pg.
To get MJ to bed, we read for a while and then i stay with her and then i put on a story CD (she prefers them to music) and leave her. I usually have to go back in 5+ times to kiss or cuddle her again or get her some more water - she has taken to having a sippy cup in bed with some water...
So Bron - although we dont all talk about it anymore, probably most of us are still unable to read them a story and simply walk out!
Well done Will :)
SKye - Awesome news... pay is usualy really good there too - i have an exBF that use to work in one for a while and the pay was great (he didnt get fed though)... only problem was getting the smell out of his clothes, they all had to be washed seperate from anything else and in hot water and with eucalptus oil!!!
So happy for you :)

oh sj - sorry to hear abt mj. one of the girls fr my mother's group had her little one in cast cos of hip problems, i dont know if it's the same. the cast was hard cos she could only have baths once a week etc and she was learning to crawl etc. but with mj walking and running she would probably fix herself really well.
i hope you find out about your hips too. it will be good to know what you can do before you get pg.
yeah i prob pat lakshman to sleep cos i feel that's the real time i have to bond with him esp working 5 days. we go sit on the rocking chair, good night and cuddle for papa and baby and then read books. he insists on at least 3, then turn on the CD for some music and turn off the lights. and we cuddle and whisper to each other and i rock him to sleep.

Glad you found out about her hips now, rather than later SJ. Though it'd be ideal to have known when she was little, I'm sure you'll get through this pretty easily. If swimming helps you could use the bath tub every night :)
My MIL, BIL & SIL were all born with hip displaysia. I was really paranoid with Jaz & they did u/s on hers & Bri's hips at about 8 weeks. Bri's were perfect, But Jaz's results showed she had 54% displaysia in her right hip & 45% in her left. Thankfully though, wasn't bad enough to worry about. Wearing cloth nappies have probably helped MJ too. SIL & BIL were in braces for 6 months from birth. MIL wasn't so lucky. Her hips are well & truly stuffed. She had her first replaced at 40 & has been needing to get the other one replaced since not long after, but because she'll probably be on warfin for a dvt for the rest of her life, there's a good chance she'll never be able to have it done.
& yeah, the job will be good. He'll be buggered, but he's very determined. Both jobs are almost an hour away from here. Near Kempsey. We don't want to move from here, so thats alot of travelling. He'll be doing 5.30am - about 2 - 3pm at the abbitoir, then he starts at woolies between 6 & 9pm & usually finishes between 12 & 2am. So most nights he'll probably go to woolies, then sleep the 3 or so hours in the car, then do the abs, then come home for a few more hours sleep before heading off again. He's only doing 3 - 4 days a week at woolies most of the time though & doesn't usually do weekends, so hopefully he'll be able to do it. We want to build a house if not on mum & dad's block, then buy the block just up the road from them. He's really determined, so hopefully it all works out ok :)
Hope all goes ok with you at the osteo too SJ.

Bron - Hope everything gets back in order so you can get pg and hopefully cruise though it :crossfingers:
Skye - Good to see that Anth is getting sorted work wise. Hopefully the financial pressures will ease and you can enjoy life even more. And getting your own house would be awesome!
SJ - I hope you can sort out MJ's hips without having to go down the cast route. We had a friend that had to do it and it was a nightmare. It is a bummer that you had suspected that there was a problem but it didn't get picked up like it should have. I also hope that you can get a good result re your hips and have a healthy VBAC :)
Caitlin has 3 stories before bed. Then it is teeth brushing, kisses good night and then she gets dummy & Taggie and it is straight into bed and lights out. She occasionally calls out for another cuddle and I just go in give her a quick cuddle and tell her to lie down it's bedtime and then she usually goes off to sleep without anymore problems. I am sure this will change once she is in her big girl bed and can actually get out and come out! At least at the moment she has never tried to climb out of her cot.
-
SJ: So sorry to hear about MJ's hips. Hope it can get sorted quickly.
Bron: Hope you're health problems get sorted out soon.
Skye: Hoping Anth has long term employment and things start easing up for you guys. You've done it really tough since I've known you.
Jazz has bath at 7pm, then straight into her room to get her pajamas on and then it's in bed with a warm bottle of milk by 7:30. Sometimes we hear her talking and calling out for up to an hour and a half so we go in to make sure she hasn't fallen out of bed or done a poo. Though, she's never fallen out of bed. We've had her in the big bed for about 6 months (started as a matress on the floor). We put the bed on the frame at Christmas time, she had a barrier up for about a month and hasn't had it up for about 3 months and has never fallen out! She tends to spend more time talking and crying crocodile tears for attention if we haven't been able to spend much time with her before bed - so often on weeknights as we both work, then as soon as Jazz & I get home I cook dinner, we eat dinner, have a little play and then it's bath and bed. I'm trying to include her in making dinner and stuff more though.

Hmm not sure if I like the new look
-
I don't like it Bron. Its giving me a headache! But we'll get used to it...same as we do every time facebook changes, lol. TBH it looks a bit tacky to me.
Anyways. I had my u/s this morning. You guys may as well be the first to know, we are probably having another girl :) Not sure how I feel about that yet. Will probably hope til the day its born he was wrong. But not suprised. I did think we were having a girl. I have a DVD, so will upload some pics to fb later. Should probably let DH see it first ;)
Hope everyone's well :D

Hope you all had a wondeerful mothers day spent with those you love xx
-
Not sure I'm liking the new look either. It has taken me ages to work out where things are!
Yay on the pink skye. Although you have all the boy stuff from Jessie so you will have some shopping to do.
Bron - Yay on the herbs working. I can understand the excitement of getting AF when you want to get back on track to have a bubba. Let's hope it is the start of something good :)
We had our 12 week scan today and I am finally brave enough to do a ticker! I was not going to do one until I knew all was ok because I didn't want to mozz it! Had a little scare as the neck fold was a little thick on the U/S but other factors for downs weren't present and once they put the U/S with the bloods & age we ended up with a 1:1200 ratio so I am happy with that.
Prama - I can't believe you are almost 25 weeks, where has the time gone? I am sure it is not going that fast for you though.
Hope everyone else is well xx
-
Not sure if I like it yet, will take some getting used to.
Congrats on another girl in the oven Skye.
Prama, do you know what you're having (and don't say a baby)
I went to the specialist on Friday about my thyroid and she's happy that currently things are going well since I've been on medication. My hormone levels are normal but I'll have to be on the meds for the rest of my life because my body is destroying my thyroid. I get to wait until the end of July for my next blood test! That will be the longest time between tests since I first got diagnosed. Have to go back to the specialist again in January, by that time I should know if we're going to TTC and the specialist will be able to tell me how much I'll have to increase my meds by when I get pregnant.
Jazz started at a new daycare last week. She's still very shy when I drop her off in the morning, I think that's because there are so many kids there when she arrives and she's still used to being the first one to arrive because that's what it was like at her old FDC. This evening while she was having a bath she was singing "Ba ba ba sheep ha-u-aee woo. Yessa yessa three ba fuu"
-
Danni - How cute is it when they try and sing. Caitlin seems to start with Twinkle twinkle but somewhere during it throws in a bit of ba ba and then itsy bitsy spider! We took a video of Caitlin doing Rock-A-Bye Bear the other day. It is a keeper for her 21st!
-
Today I really want to TTC. But that's just today. Matt said we can practice LOL. Still should wait until my thyroid medication is stable I guess, also still have 11 months left on the implanon.
-
danni - we'll find out if it's a boy or girl in aug ;)
if you really wanted to TTC could u get the implanon removed? sorry dont know much about it..
glad your thyroid is starting to settle, sounds good!
-
Danni, do you know you'll have to go off the thyroid meds while TTC, during pregnancy & breastfeeding? If so, maybe you'd be better having another now. I'm not sure.
A friend of mine has an underactive thyroid & was on meds. She lost all the weight it made her gain & then fell pg with her DS. She's now put all that weight back on. She has been breastfeeding him for almost 2 years & is waiting for him to wean so she can get back on the meds. Yours might be different though, or you might be better waiting :dunno:
-
Clover, I'm on thyroxine because my body has basically started destroying my thyroid and eventually I wont have one at all. I have what's called Hashimoto's disease. My specialist has said that I'll be on the meds for the rest of my life and has stressed that it's important to increase my dose when I do get pregnant. I did some reading and if I'm not on the right dose then I'll be at high risk of miscarrage or birth defects.
Anyway, Matt today said that he'd be happy to start TTC right now and has said that it's up to me. He said it makes sense to start about now. I'm thinking about it, but will need to talk to the doctor about it for the reasons mentioned just above! I hate that it's gonna be so complicated this time. I'll probably also have to have blood tests every couple of weeks or something. Arrrrghhhhh!
Watch this space.
The other thing to wait for is I'm not liking this job so I'm looking for something else. Will see what happens.

Hi guys,
Hope you are all well, i have been really struggling these last few months and finally have admitted it...
Saw my GP yesterday who has refered me to see a psycholgist.
Hopefully will get in to see her next week.
For someone that has always been the strong one that deals with other peoples problems, has really made it hard to ask for help.
Ummm, so i am still around and read, but i just want you to know that my silence at times is for no other reason than i have nothing positive to say and am sick of being negative.
Hope that makes sense.
xo
