Anyway took Aaron to the clinic today and happy to report that my nearly 7 month old is BIG 8.7kg and Length 69.5...and the dreaded HC is 47 (however following the 97% line for his age)...I just think he just has allot of brains in there like his mumma :dance:
Hope all you mums and bubs are all well are getting ready for next week :)
raining and humid here at the moment - ick!
not a lot to report here - just sorta travelling along. the optometrist i went to see for myself today has agreed to see E next month for a basic work up (he noticed the turn in her eye but wouldn't mention it til i did lol) - if she has signs of any of the issues i have (long sighted, short sighted - yup, i've had both! astigmatisms etc) he'll give us a referral for a paediatric opthamologist. he did say she is very young, but given both DH and I have had life long eye issues, and mine were bad enough to need glasses when i was less than a year old, he will check her out. yay! i need new lenses in my glasses, which i'd guessed - but i've been going to same place for so long they gave us a mammoth discount (over a third off!) and PHI covers the rest - woot!
Nicole - sounds like Aaron is growing nicely :) What did he weigh at birth? We are ready for Christmas I am pleased to say - and quite looking forward to it too (actually I am MEGA excited TBH!!)
BG - thats great that they will check E out for you, if she does have vision issues, what happens then, how early can a bubba wear glasses if needed?
Bailey skipped his night feed last night and slept through to 550am - 12 hours straight (two grizzles but I just popped the dummy back in). I almost didn't know myself this morning, felt bright and perky LOL, then today he had a mammoth 3 hour nap - we have gone from "sleep is for the weak" to "Awake time is sooo last week" LOL - I cant work it out!! :O He did have a couple of little spews this morning (which rarely happens, he is too mean to waste food LOL) so perhaps he is under the weather, no temp and seems happy enough

Been busy. Allira had her 6 month vax today and she was a trooper. She's been so good all day. Slight temp tonight, but will see how she goes and have the panadol and nurofen on standby.
Had the kids santa pic today. Dressed them up, and they look gorgeous if I do say so myself... haha.
Allira looks a bit like a stunned mullet, but she's still a bit cute. Very proud of Lachie! Thought he was going to be a struggle, but he was fantastic once he saw Allira on Santa's knee.
( I've put the pic on FB... feel free to have a squizz :) ).
Anyway, bed is calling. Will pop back tomorrow.

He was 2.8kg at birth( I was induced 11 days early)...and ohhhh so tiny...where has that newborn bubba gone......

AFU, with yesterdays heat Aaron didn't sleep till 11.00pm, woke up at 6 quick feed and can only hear him stirring ATM....let’s see how long it will last...well I hope until I finish my coffee!!
Bought a Peg Perego Prima Pappa high chair yesterday and sent the Fisher Price one I had to ones...bit on the exy side but will be worth it if I have another 20 kids ;)
Anyway must away and do a few things before I a little boy calls out for his mumma.

Welcome Nicole I hadn't said hello before!
Well we have been hectically busy here for ages!! Getting ready for christmas and the big move. I have the movers booked, but not the cleaners. Not looking forward to the driving but hey... what can you do. The dogs were angels on the last trip. Just hope Jemima is ok... not for awhile yet though. Have to get ready for Christmas first. Nearly there. Have Darrens pressies now.
Jemima just hit 6 months the other day. I have to go and get her measured!! She is huge tho. She is really sleeping much better at night now. Still not liking her day sleeps and only has them under protest. But a little is better than very little. Last night I went to BAC group again. So DH had her for the first time at night on his own. As per usual he bathed her dressed her and gave to me to put to sleep. I went to BAC group at 7.10 Apparently she woke up a half hr later. He did all the things I told him to trying to settle her in the cot. When she wouldn't settle and was distressed as per his orders he picked her up and went to cuddle her. It was then that he noticed that she had a soaked bottom....... He had forgotten to put a nappy on her when he dressed her, and I hadn't noticed..LMAO!!!!! Not that she was happy at all he says. She hates being dressed at the best of times and when she wants to be asleep it is even worse!! Anyway she only woke at 11.45 and he went in (cos I still wasn't back) he offered her EBM and she didn't want it and went back to sleep. Anyhow I got home at MN and she still wasn't up. I woke her dream fed her just b4 I went to bed and she didn't wake till 6.30.... then suprise suprise she went back to sleep till 7.15. So either something is working or she is just over a bad patch there and has settled on her own... maybe a bit of both?
We would like some of the rain up here please BG!! it is consistantly 36+ and humid!!! But no rain... ok I lie... there was a few drops the other day but nothing really.
Anyway I feel ready for an early night!!!

She bit me!!!!
I think cos she was full and I offered her the other side and so she was just wanting to play/chew.... but she bit me!! I don't know who was more shocked! Oh well.. problem is she did it today again. Once again I was going to lay down with her and I put the nipple in her mouth. Or I should say she did, cos she was so impatient. Then before she had a chance to properly latch I tried to lift up to get into a more comfortable position and I think she was trying to stop it from leaving her mouth and she bit me again. The 1st time I figured that she was full so just stopped feeding. The second I gave it back to her cos she was practically howling for it!!
I meant to tell all the bf mummas that I had been struggling with a feeling that I had low supply. I was able to feed alright but she often got frustrated with me and I felt like I was low in supply/flat in the chest.
I read on one of the forums here that blessed thistle and also flaxseed oil which has omega 3,6 and 9 was good for increasing flow. So I tried them both at the same time and it has made a HUGE difference!! Obviously don't know which is working but I am only taking it when I remember and it seems to be working really well.

Hi girls, just a quick one with no persies, sorry... Things have been just crazy busy around here, with family birthdays, Natty's friends' birthdays, some preparation I have had to do for this morning's church and tonight's carols and the girls have just been very demanding. Natty's behaviour has been a million times better if I make sure I pay her deliberate attention even if she seems like she doesn't want it. So it has been very hard to get online at all. On top of that, I have been up much of the night with Phoebs who has been running a temp since her afternoon nap yesterday, poor little bubba. I think the panadol has finally kicked in, as she's now had 3 hours in a row without waking hot or cold or thirsty.
With everything going on, I doubt very much I'll be in again before next week, so... I wish you all a very merry Christmas - I hope it's a joyful time for you all, even through the difficulties some of you are facing (Bailz with his brace, Bella with your move, etc). I hope you all enjoy the first Christmas with your babies - I am looking forward to Phoebe seeing her new toy :) aside from that I think it will be much like any other day, LOL! Hoping she is right as rain again by then.

Nicole - i'm so much a fan of PL that i sell it! only way i can afford my obsession! i tend to not actively sell - just put in a party every couple of months so that i can stay active for when the Christmas stuff comes out in September - heheheh
Bella - ouchies at the bite! E has latched on with her gums a few times - i go crook and take her off so she knows it hurts. i'm hoping it is working!

AFU - very tired today - went to Melbourne for a baby shower for another BB long termer yesterday. E was really good, but it was still a very draining day. she is feeding a lot more today - not sure if it's to make up for yesterday or if she's feeling a bit unwell. i was pretty crook last week with a cold and my throat is still a bit yukky after having to run around yesterday. maybe she is feeling the same...
weighed E at mum's the other day - not sure how accurate it is, but seems she's put on a few hundred grams in two weeks.
well, should away - trying to upload pics on fb and the bulk uploader isn't working on my puter - so i'm having to do five at a time - PITA!
well lucky for us my mum got my sister to bring our chrissy pressies for us so even though she isnt here we have something to remind us shes still there they are coming to visit in a couple of weeks which is good but it'll be weird without seeing her at chrissy
anyway theres 5 pressies for jamie lol she went a little overboard
jamie has 2 teeth now and hes getting up on his knees and rocking he growing up so quick i want him to go back to a little bubba i miss that but i dont miss the no sleep lol

Bella - ouch re the biting! Glad you likes Bailz's card. I loved J's too, very very cute!! Eeeeek re constant 36 degrees, we are in for a heatwave this week - 42 on wednesday arrrrggghhhhh, but should be a respectable 26 for Chrissie Day with any luck
Nicole - we got another couple of nights of 12-13 hours, I almost dont know myself! Last night he woke at 430 and I couldn't get him back to sleep without a bottle, but as he went to bed at 630 he did pretty well! I'd love for him to drop the night bottle altogether, I'll see what happens this week

AFU, we are going ok, I am really looking forward to Bailey's first Christmas so that's pretty exciting. Have had a few family events this weekend which was nice and my Dad is down from Broome until after NY so enjoyed his company today, I think he and Bailey were delighted with each other, this is the third time Grandad has seen him since he was born which is pretty good seeing as we live so far apart.
Anyway, must away, the washing maching is beeping at me to unload it

Well, we had to turn Allira around in her car seat yesterday. I didn't want to, but she now exceeds the weight limit for rear facing for the capsule, and Lachie's old seat is the same limit, so forward facing it is :(
She really likes it though. The seat is tilted back a bit so she's very comfy in it.
Picking up a new booster combo seat for Lachie after new years ( he's in the one from mum's car at the moment). Gah, they grow too quickly!

He has been a little off for the last few days not sleeping till 11.00pm then crys out at around 1ish cuddle with mum and back to bed till 7 which is alright.
Must be his teeth and maybe that he didn't do a number 2 or should I say 3 in a 4 days.

Nicole: Welcome :) Yay for another tooth. 11 til 7 is a great stretch of sleep. We are in for another hot couple of days Wednesday and Thursday - they're predicting 38 on Thurs, so lets strap ourselves in, LOL.
Nicky: Bummer about the car seat. That really sucks. I'm not looking forward to having to buy another bigger seat for Natty, but she is so tiny I can't imagine it happening any time soon. She's only 12kg still. I think she has lost weight over the last month or so :( She has been seriously better since I got my head out of my butt and started paying her more attention the last couple of days. So hopefully her eating will improve and she'll start growing more again.
Naomi: Fingers crossed that was the WW and now it's over. Phoebs is usually up between 2 and 3 hours between sleeps, although now I find it next to impossible to get her to have that 3rd sleep so depending on when she wakes from her second sleep she's sometimes up for 4, 5, even 6 hours. On those nights there are many tears. Sorry to hear Bailey isn't feeling well. Phoebe is ok - maybe the temp was due to teeth? Either way, it's something I can't see so I'm hoping it's behind us now. Enjoy the time with your dad. Loved the Chrissy card, thanks mate! Way cute.
BG: Is that the BB choc fudge? I LOVE that stuff. I have made it for Christmas presents before but this year I'm doing bickies and lemon butter. Hope you get a good rest tonight and can give that cold the final boot.
Bella: Glad you've fixed your supply issues. I have all but given up on my RHS. Phoebe thinks my right boob is just a big joke. Shame about the biting, but I suppose you have the reason behind it and if that's the case it shouldn't become a habit. Our struggle is pinching. Not so much while feeding but when people hold her she grabs great handfuls of flesh and squeezes REALLY hard... she's incredibly strong. Gave my friend a bruise on her neck last week. So I have started to be really consistent in telling her to be gentle, praising her when she touches gently and reminding her when she pinches. Even when it doesn't hurt I still remind her. Sometimes I feel like she's taking it in and other times not, LOL! But it's all we can do. Thank you for the Chrissy card too! Jemima is very cute! She looks a lot like (photos I've seen of) her dad in that photo :)
Agh, Phoebe is still spiritedly chatting away in there. I could probably go to bed but she may well start to cry at some stage and need me so I think I'd rather wait until I know she's asleep rather than fall asleep only to be woken after 20 minutes or something.
Am trashed though. The weekend was very full on. But the next couple of days should actually be quieter, which is a relief.
Phoebe has in the last couple of days decided she likes food! She had her first taste of banana today. I just used the spoon to get some smaller chunks off for her and she chewed away. Even got upset with me when I slowed down to talk! That was mid afternoon, so I figured she wouldn't want any solids at dinner time. Wrongo! Luckily I had steamed myself some pumpkin and I shared with her. She just took little bites off the chunks I gave her. She still can't feed herself, but at least she's starting to show interest in eating. I've noticed her growth slowing down. Feels like she's been in 00s for ages and isn't looking to grow out of them any time soon. Some clothes she wears are 0s but they are smaller sized ones.
Orright, I think I'm going to peek on FB while I have the chance.
Well holidays must really wear babies out, CJ is having the longest day sleep has had in ages - although am just making a coffee and normally that is her cue to wake up!!!! Had a fantastic weekend in Grampians with my parents, before we moved to Melbourne the only time I really thought about wanting kids was when I was on holiday, and going away with a child lived up to my expectations - even at six months the wonder she displayed at everything is just infectious. DH didn't come due to work and CJ and I were in a hostel while mum and dad were in their camper van - hostel was fine (even had high chair and baby change table) CJ slept in with me which was a bit odd as am not used to it but worked out fine. Back at home now for a few days peace before mum and dad get into MEL on Christmas Eve.
Oh right on cue she has woken up - will post more later - can catch up on posts now though as read while I feed her!
Hi girls, gosh this is such a busy time of year isn't it? I'm just finishing off the last of my Christmas cards to send out and I'm crossing my fingers that they get there just before Christmas, but I think they are going to end up arriving late.
DH and I decided this year that seeings as we spent so much on things in the new house, that we would count those as our presents to each other, so we're not buying each other presents. But I really wanted to get him a little something from Kyson. Problem is that I couldn't find ANYTHING! Oh well, I guess Kyson is the best present we could ever ask for :)
I just can't believe how quickly Kyson is growing up. Not only is he standing up holding onto furniture and walking around them, he's now using a box to stand against and walk wile he pushes it across the floor! DH thinks he'l be walking in a month. I walked at 8 1/2 months and I think Kyson is trying to beat me, lol.
He's become a really affectionate little boy. He loves his cuddles and will crawl across the floor and into my arms for a snuggle. I love when he tucks his head into me, TOO CUTE! Yesterday morning DH got him up for an hour first thing in the morning, and when he brought him back to bed he laid him down in his cot. I thought he'd play for a while so I just kept laying with my eyes closed. Then he crawled onto my bed and over to me and laid his head on my shoulder and fell asleep there! It was the sweetest thing, and I didn't have the heart to move him back to his cot, so he slept his nap like that :)
I'd love to do persies but I really need to get a million things done. I have a pile of dirty clothes that I just dropped on the lounge room floor (BB took precedence), the rest of the crissy cards, I have Kyson's Santa Sack half sewn on the kitchen table, the kitchen is a war zone (I really believed the dishes would do themselves during the night...), and my parents are coming to visit later.

Hi All,
Bailey seems to be pretty much over his cold, just in time for christmas which is good. We have a busy time coming up (although doesn't everyone hehehehehe). My brother, wife and girls arrive from Shepparton on Christmas Eve and are staying at Mums, Dad is here from Broome as I mentioned so almost all the relo's will be here except my 'lil bro, but we are heading to Perth to visit him for 4 days on Jan 7th. Christmas Day is at the IL (more of my family will be there LOL) but it should be a good day as Bailey's first christmas will be with all his cousins which is really cool.
We have an appt for physio and then a brace adjustment tomorrow, I am really conscious of how quickly he grows now as you see how they need to adjust his brace width etc in only two weeks due to his growth, quite amazing. Hoping I can get in and out of the hospital quickly - its due to be about 40 degrees here tomorrow - arrrrrrrgh, however we are s'posed to have a nice 20 degree chrissie day, that would be great :)
Krystie - Bailey gives great cuddles too and has learnt to kiss when we ask for a kiss - although his version of a kiss is hilarious, its more of a lip sucking pucker - cracks me up everytime hehehehehe. He also does this adorable thing where if I sit him on my lap facing me, he graps both my cheeks and goes in for this smoochie-cuddly-saliva-fest! It's deliciously gross and he thinks its funny as. He is super giggly recently which I love. This age is pretty special, their little personalities come out more and more everyday
J - Yeah I find the hot weather always mucks up Baileys normal sleeping, we seem to be over our sleep regression, hope Jamie likes to nap again soon
Nicole - congrats on Aaron hitting the 7 month mark - Bailey is 8 months tomorrow - I can't beleive it!! A year ago tomorrow I found out he was a boy at our 19 week scan!! Tomorrow also marks one month in the brace - Yaaay for us getting through a month, we are one month closer to it being off :leap:
Amy - hope you guys have a few relaxing days before Christmas hits in full force - glad to hear Phoebe is starting to enjoy food :) Yaaaaay for Nattie being a good girl for Mum!

Hi All!!
Well we are absolutely sweltering in the heat and humidity up here!! It has been appalling!! Jemima has been particularly demanding of the last few days and I think that it has to do with the heat making her irritable. To help cool her down I have been giving her ice wrapped in cloth to suck on which seems to make her very content. Today I couldn't find the cloth I was looking for and put it into one of her newborn socks and tied a knot in the end. It worked really well and she sat content for the longest time working on it. I think h=it helped her gums as well as helping her fight the heat and stayed cold for sooooo much longer than any of her teethers, so that is a win.
I finally have all the pressies wrapped. Had my nieces over for a pre-christmas sleep over, give their mum a chance to do so stuff, night the other night. I went and bought a few more lights to put up, and got them each a fairy ornament to put on the tree which they loved! Lots of fun to be honest. We are going to my sisters place the night before christmas to sleep over to catch the chrissy morning present bonanza. I think my DH is really excited for the first time in years. He has struggled for it to feel like christmas as he is a POM and it isn't cold like the UK and so he doesn't have the same christmas triggers that we have here which build his excitement. Anyway I think he and his brother-in-law will both be out of bed before the kids on christmas day and having to restrain them selves from waking the kids at 5am.
Anyway I am gonna go. Jemima has been totally turned around the lst few weeks with her sleeping and has been going 6-7 hrs in a row without waking and up to 9-10 btwn feeds. However not last night and I doubt it tonight for some reason. She has been really motoring around the house tho and sits un-aided now. She really leapt ahead the last week and I think she is bang smack in the middle of a wonder week even tho this is the begining of week 27. Amazing how accurate those weeks are. Anyway I must go

Phoebe isn't moving anywhere, except backwards occasionally. She is now a bit of a wriggler, trying to roll to her tummy on the change table. Pretty annoying really! Her sleeping has been so higgledy piggledy with all these late nights - the poor thing is so confused. I'm really hoping that the next few nights she sorts herself out because I'm getting soooooo tired. Tonight she has been waking and calling out a few times, then going back to sleep again. It is enough to keep me awake but not enough that I should go in there and help her because she's doing ok soothing herself. I think it has been a good 15 mins now, so I should probably go back to bed...
Was DH and Natty's birthday today. Nat had such a lovely time. Had our parents over for lunch and cake and she just nattered away to them and played with all her new presents. It's kind of embarrassing - she is present-obsessed. I think it will be hard explaining to her why she won't have any tomorrow, LOL! And I need to work out some serious storage issues for all the new toys the girls have. The toy corner has sort of exploded.

I hope you all had a magical Christmas! We had a wonderful day and I managed to only cry once. It was in the evening and I was just so happy and didn't want the day to end :) I even managed to make my mum cry when she opened the gift from Kyson. I made a book of 40 digi-scrapbooking pages that I got printed as a photobook (the big 12x12inch ones) and she loved it! I was going to get a little upset if she didn't considering each page took more than a day to do! Lol!
Kyson was such a good boy all day. It must have been pretty overwhelming considering we did Christmas morning at our house where he opened his Santa sack presents, then brunch at the PIL with DH's family, then lunch and the afternoon at my parents house (at which most of my dad's family was also there!), and then home again to open his presents from us. I'm sure he must have been all present-ed out by the end of the day, but he loves all the new toys!
Amy, I hope you're back in bed and fast asleep and that Phoebe has decided to sleep nicely again. Kyson's worst sleep is always his evening sleep from about 7.30-8pm until his 11pm feed. He wakes after most of the sleep cycles and cries out and we need to run in to try to quickly resettle him or else he just wakes himself up more and more. Then he goes back to his lovely 3 hourly feeds after that...
Also, Happy Birthday to Natty and your DH! My youngest DS had his birthday on Christmas Eve (he turned 10) and I think it took him until he was about 8 or 9 before he really grasped the fact that Christmas and his Birthday were actually separate events, rather than just a continuous flow of presents, hehe.
Well, not only is Kyson cruising around the place like a pro, but he's now practicing letting go and balancing. He's so proud of himself when he does it too. When he lets go he makes a sort of panting/concentrating noise and smiles. So far he's managing to balance for about 3-5 seconds before he falls backwards onto his butt, or starts to topple to the side.
Before I head off I just had a question... Lately I've felt that I'm not making as much milk as usual. Kyson still seemed satisfied with how much he gets at feeds, but my breasts never feel as full as they used to. Do you girls think it's something that I should do something about? I was thinking about cluster feeding him for a day or two and also expressing in there somewhere to see if that boosts the supply. I'm sure that it's probably got to do with how much solid food he's eating now, but I can't help but be a little concerned. I don't want to leave it and then be in a situation where my milk dries up and I have to give up breastfeeding.
Oh Krystie, he's going to be walking before you know it! I remember when Natty got to the stage of letting go of the furniture it was only a couple of weeks before she was taking her first tottering steps. (Mind you, she was 14 months old, not 7!)
LOL @ the 'flow of presents'. At least Nat had a day in between, although this year we did spend boxing day doing Christmas with my brother and SIL and their kids... so I suppose it was a 3-day-flow of presents after all. We are going to another birthday party for one of her little mates today, so perhaps that will actually be a good thing - someone else can have a turn today ;)
Re your milk, probably it is to do with the solid food intake. The good thing about your supply is that it automatically regulates to how much he is needing. I know milk is the most important part of their diets, but the reality is that as the year goes on they will be needing less and less. After 12 months, they "should" be having normal family foods, so most bubs I know of over 12 months are only having a couple of feeds a day (some still overnight too of course!). So personally, I wouldn't worry too much, particularly when he's still feeding overnight. It's so true that every baby is different though, so if you feel your supply is getting too low for whatever reason, then I find feeding more often (like whenever you think of it) is the best way to build it up. But Bella posted only a few weeks ago that Blessed Thistle worked for her (I could never find it when I was feeding Natty and she was weaning at 10 months). I tried Fenugreek but I thought it was gross - left a funny taste in my mouth. But I know people who've found that to be helpful.

Hey Krystie I have been told by lactation consultants that our breast are much more efficient at making milk by now and they won't ever feel as full anymore. So you may not have anything to worry about however if you think he needs more milk maybe try to always give him a boob before he has his solids and so that way he may eat less soids but you know he is still getting the milk which has so much of the essential nutrients he needs in it. I used blessed thistle and flax seed oil recently and it felt like it increased my supply really well. See how you go honey.
I just posted in the bf area cos Jemima is really ramping up with her biting of me and it is starting to really scare me. Today she refused a feed before her nap and I am really worried... been in tears because of it..... Waiting to see what the bf mummas suggest. :(
i am always telling DH to let me feed DD before solids - he means well, but he puts her in the high chair while we're cooking and just feeds her - i don't want my supply impacted either! i rarely feel full-ish anymore but i know she's getting plenty as some days she refuses solids and still feeds the same and sleeps the same...
Bella - hope you get some answers re biting. E has not started biting (yet) but i'm dreading it. her latest trick is pinching the sensitive skin under my arms EVERY feed. she gets one warning - then she gets taken off the boob and i give it a minute before putting her back on. third time, she gets her arm moved to a position that is less comfy for her!
Amy - sounds like Natty has had constant presents lately - hopefully she will be ok with someone else being the present recipient today!
AFU - i'm exhausted! Christmas ended up being more full on for DH and I than it should of. all the "we'll bring stuff" offers turned into "we'll dump it on you the night before and you organise it". all the stuff that should have been done just wasn't, so we had to do it all that night and next morning. not a happy mummy! it probably turned out better though - cos i did it myself and no one else messed it up on me! just meant we didn't get to bed til after midnight (not unusual for Christmas eve) and were up before 6 - and E's nap in the morning, when we should have been able to relax - we were organising stuff still. ah well, DH has said there is "no way in hell we're wasting our Christmas Eve next year doing things for Christmas when noone helped us out" - and he's said we're not going into town early - we're going to do what my bro did to us - he didn't rock up til 12 - when he said he'd be here early to help us! at least it meant E got to open some of her presents with just us and wasn't overwhelmed too early - when my bro and SIL turned up with their kids, she had everything dumped on her, and the other kids were impatient with her so they took over... sigh
it sounds like i didn't enjoy Christmas day - but honestly, i had a fantastic day! E was perfect and she had a ball - just having a bad morning this morning (didn't sleep well - stupid nightmares!) and am obviously fixating on the minor negatives of the day! hehehe i've vented now - time to move on!
E didn't get overly spoilt - i dug my heels in and told everyone to be sensible - she doesn't NEEEEEEED heaps of crap! we tried to encourage people to get clothes for 6 months from now, rather than a mass of toys that she won't use. she simply can't use too many toys! and what she did get, we tried to make sure it was multi-use so that she can be creative herself with it. Daddy is loving her blocks, so i think we might need to get more! got a big megablocks pack - 120 pieces, so we thought you'd be able to do a bit with it - i sat down last night and found that over a third of the pieces were single bits instead of the multiple pieces you can build on - so really, there is bugger all you can make with it! ah well, at least it gives us something to suggest to people for her birthday!
I hear you on the exhausted part BG - I am rundown and sick as a result I think. Looking back I have not had a day without something happening for almost a month - so I have no one to blame but myself. Our Christmas was good too - I so wish we could have just stayed home with the little guy though, as christmas morning with just him and Sean and I was delightful to say the least. Unfortunately some petty family issues on my side reared their head (not brought up by me, but got dragged into it a bit). DHs family were well behaved for once - the irony! However, Christmas was enjoyable, but exhausting, I dont think I have had the chance to actually sit down and relax until I got sick late sunday night which forced me to relax. We had to go to the IL yesterday and I was seriously so ill I was laying on the floor until finally DH took pity on me and we went home.
Amy - I am with you re the toy explosion, not sure what to do here either. I think once the Christmas tree is packed up I might have to invest in a big toybox, our current 'toy basket' is about to burst! Bailey wasn't too spoilt which was good - except the MIL went overboard :wall: (apparantly its ok to spoil babies now (with meaningless plastic cr*p), but not 'spoil' them when they are two weeks old and crying to be picked up to tend to their basic needs!! :o ) Anyhoo, I need to try to rotate the toys I give him to play with otherwise they are in danger of just sitting in the corner collecting dust. No moving here either (obviously) but we are trying to encourage Bailey to reach out to the side to grab toys etc as the physio recommended this to improve his upper body strength, but as his brace is so bloody wide he currently sits like he is doing the splits and just continuously face plants which his legs either side of him which is very frustrating to him (and me). Since they adjusted him on Dec 23rd he is having trouble sitting now - It seems they went a bit extreme on the adjustment, we had a different orthotist for this appt. I am propping him up with endless pillows but he pushes them out of the way to play with the toys so we really cant leave him otherwise we risk coming back a few seconds later to him face down in a pillow - scary stuff (even leaving him to go to the loo is a challenge atm, as I lay him on his back to play (so he cant face plant) which he now hates and cries most of the time until I sit him up again). Never mind, I want to be with him as much as possible, but you know what its like, sometimes even just 5 minutes is all you want to quickly get something done. We have another appt mid january so will talk about it then.
Krystie - Kyson is sooo clever, what a little champ!! Re your milk, Like Bella I agree re your body only making what Kyson needs, I know its been a few months since I have BF, but I did have a wonderful midwife who explained to me that over time your breasts only make just enough to meet your babies supply (smart boobies!!) and Kyson's solids intake would no doubt be changing his needs thus your supply for sure. But if you are worried, maybe ring the ABA
As of yesterday I have only 10 weeks of maternity leave left - VERY scary and upsetting!! I am going to sit down tomorrow and work out exactly what will happen financially and what proposals that then allows me that I can put to my boss next week when I go back in to negotiate the conditions of my return. Hoping for the first 6 weeks of my return I can work maybe 4 days, then back to 5 days while Sean in on long service leave as he is taking only half pay, then when he goes back to work in July hoping to work 3 or 4 days, I need to work out the finances to see what is viable so I can stop stressing about it and accept it. I am definately buying a lotto ticket this saturday (I never buy them LOL).
Anyway, am feeling a bit better this arvo, have drugged myself up LOL

Hi everyone!!! I hope you all had a wonderfu Christmas and New years! I can't believe it's 2010!!
All well here. Allira is doing too much now and it's depressing knowing that I won't have anymore babies of my own again. Ah well.
She's getting really bad nappy rash. It's horrid... to the point sometimes where just wiping her bum will cause her skin to bleed. She's not worried about it at all, and some days it's really good, like today for example. I can't think of any foods that would be causing it, but it's def something to do with #2's. I wonder if it's her formula? I'm thinking of pulling some of Lachie's old cloth nappies out and seeing if that makes things any better.She won't have any trouble fitting... she's bigger than he was at 12 months now.
Do any of you girls have an fantastic nappy creams that you could recommend?
We took the kids to a public pool a couple of days ago and they loved it. Lachie's just fantastic in the water now, and after the inital cold water freak out, Allira had a ball aswell. She starts swimming lessons at the end of Jan.
Not much else happening.. same old boring me here really.
Just glad to be bored and at home. haha.

Nicky - we swear by sudocream here, it always clears any hint of nappy rash up straight away so Bailey has never really gotten very bad nappy rash. I have noticed though in the hot weather he has had a few more patches than normal - might be a bit of sweating perhaps?
try for as much nappy free time as possible (i know it's not easy with a mobile bubba but it will help heaps.
if you have some from when your DS was in cloth, moogoo ROCKS! e has only ever had a few spots of nappy rash and it's gone within horus with a combo of nappy free time and moo goo

DH has just taken DD to bed and is sleeping on the bed. he reckons he lays down while she dozes off, but then he told me how he settles her - he lays down once she's asleep and has a nana nap! lol
Hmm.. sudocream works ok, but not brilliantly. I've tried moogoo once or twice, might give it another whirl. Hopefully it clears up but it's been going on a little while now. Can't shake it. I give her nappy free time when I can. I wish we had tiles or wooden floors.... My poo carpet has been 'dirited' a couple of times and it's so hard to get out! haha
