Cathy - At mothers group or if there are videos of bubs on FB, crawling walking etc I always show CJ and say "Don't you want to copy all the other babies" as she isn't really moving about yet (pushing backwards a bit and spinning round but at MG today they were all at least commando crawling, despite the fact she is 3rd oldest, but she seems quite happy to just sit and watch and let them come steal her toys!)

Have any of your bubs got bad breath when they burp? I posted a thread in the BLS section and seems is nothing to worry about but just curious if CJ is the only one? I hold my nose and say stinky at her and she thinks is hilarious.

IL's at theatre tonight, tomorrow DH has day off, then Thur, Fri I am on my own with them on holiday on mornington peninsula as DH couldn't get Thur or Fri off, so is joining us Fri night and we all stay down there the weekend, then just Mon and they are gone. Counting down the days.

No cluckiness here but I wasn't clucky before CJ either, but I enjoy hearing about people being pregnant and having babies so much now - before I didn't really get why people who already had children got so excited about people having children, but I get it now. My cousin is due next week with her second, and I am far more excited than when she had her first 3 years ago (she is in Sydney so will get to see little one end of May)

Yeah, I've noticed it a few times on and off, not 100% sure but I think its been when I have given Bailey bought baby food when I am out and about - I swear he had breath that stunk of garlic the other week (but don't recall him eating anything that could have had garlic in it ) Not that it applies to CJ but I remember thinking formula made his breath smell different, BF breath was actually lovely to smell ..... ah that sweet warm booby milk breath....... *sigh*......... I miss it (Yep, I'm weird )

Oh, and I meant to ask you ladies - have any of you given your babies peanut butter? I was going to give Bailey some on a cruskit and DH talked me out of it for now, he is paranoid about anaphylaxis, although there are no peanut allergies in our families!!

sorry i've been a little MIA myself lately - been going through a bit of a rough patch with E on top of organising to go back to work and all that crap - so i read, i post briefly, but don't manage to say a whole hell of a lot!

Nicky and Bridg - hope you're both feeling better. being under the weather sucks at the best of times - having an almost-nine-month old and feeling off - nope, not fun! plus you both have older kidlets - rather full on!

Nicole - sounds like chaos as the MAN SHED goes up. we're waiting on our shed to go up (similar size) but there have been delays delays and more delays! it's doing my frikken head in!

Cathy - gorgeous pics hun! i have a couple of BF photos from when E was little, but too many body image issues to get anymore done now. ah well - i know how cute she looks when she's BF! no plans on weaning any time soon - so maybe i'll get some when i'm back at work and feeling more confident in myself

Naomi - we have introduced peanut butter to E recently. i did a lot of reading and the current research (which may only be current for a little while lol) says it's best to introduce food that may cause allergies between 6 and 12 months - any later, the chances of allergic reactions actually increase. so, give how far from medico's and hospital/pharmacy we are, we've been trialling foods at my folks place when i'm there for an afternoon. E has had no reaction to peanuts (or eggs - or anything else!). i was determined to introduce them though - we like our satay too much to not have it - and given E eats the same meal as us every night... anyway - i would suggest introducing a small amount (e only had a small crust) and then increasing it next time.

Vic - E has had a bit of bad breath but it's usually following having something to eat that would cause icky breath in anyone! the other night, her breath was a bit wiffy after she had burritos for dinner!

good luck surviving the IL's. not sure if it's a fortunately or unfortunately situation for us, but i have no IL's at all. DH's parents are both passed, and he is estranged from almost all the rest of his family. i'm guessing he would have the same antagonistic thoughts about his IL's as you do though!

sorry to everyone else if i've missed you - gotta get some other stuff done before E wakes up, so time to waffle about us!

E cut another tooth yesterday. she was a miserable PITA little rat the day before - refused to sleep and all that stuff. Mummy wasn't coping very well and had to walk away for a while - but eventually things were ok.

yesterday E and I went out with my mum for a while. after waiting in line for over an hour at c'link (no wonder people abuse me on the phone! lol) we went to my Aunt's to show her some stuff she'd asked us to get for my brothers DD's and then back to mum's for lunch and dinner while DH did some work in the garden. My SIL had held onto the dresses her DD's wore in our wedding and one is a size 0 so yesterday i put it on E and set up a mini photo shoot outside at mum and dad's - we had a ball! the wind was blowing so mum was holding a sheet up behind E and letting it billow around her - E was cackling her little heart out! so we have some very natural photos of her - with a sheet blowing around her! they look so cute - will post some on BB later. love trying to set up a photo and having it go so very wrong but so very right lol

I never thought I would say this, but... I can't wait for AF to come!!!

I had my appointment with the FS today and it's full steam ahead! No waiting or anything. He was going to to a down reg cycle, but when he found out AF was due any day now, he changed to an antagonist cycle and asked if I was happy to start right away. YES! Lol. So I have an appointment with his nurse on Friday at 10am to work out all the meds, but she said if AF turns up tonight or tomorrow morning then I'll have to go in tomorrow instead because the drugs have to start on day 2. The doc is putting me on a light drug cycle and trying to keep it as natural as possible. I have poly cystic ovaries (just means I have plenty of follicles in there) and he thinks I'll respond well to a low dose of the drugs. Oh, and I won't be taking the nasal spray, just an injection from day 2-5, then 2 injections daily after that until there are enough "ripe" eggs for pickup

And want to know some more great news? I can keep breastfeeding! WHOOHOO! I told him I was a little concerned about the drugs, but that I was keen to keep going and perhaps just time feeds so that Kyson would get a feed right before the daily drug dose, then hold off as long as possible before his next feed (which I'll still do anyway), but he said he wasn't worried about the drugs at all. His concern was that the lining of the uterus wouldn't be thick enough, but he was convinced that it wouldn't be a problem in my case Yay for breastfeeding!

If everything goes to plan, the age gap between Kyson and his sibling will be only a month or two bigger than between my sister and I which I like.

Krystie, that is GREAT news on being able to start the short cycle (antagonist) as soon as AF arrives.
From memory I was on 125 Puregon for 6 days and then Orgalutran (which is the antagonist injection) for 6 days EPU on day 13 ET on day 18!! So it's fast!!!

AFU, well Aaron hit 9 months a couple of days ago and CANT believe that he will be 1 in 3 months...where has the time gone.
He had been waking up every 3 hours during the night up until the couple of nights....but maybe I have just spoken too soon.
He sat on his own today for about 30 seconds so I am very proud of my little man.
We are also seeing the neuro this Friday and just want to get it over and done with so I can stop holding my breath
Not much else other than living in dust and mess ATM...building this garage is getting old....although it's only been 1.5 weeks. The Cement is being poured tomorrow and I could not be happier...ohh how I hate dust!!

Anyway may try and clean the fish tank before Mr wakes up.

Ok, am making the most of the girls' early night
I'm going to try to catch up on a couple of things...
Vic, Phoebe has bad breath sometimes. Onion does it to her usually. But I think it's a matter of preference - I would think her breath was DREADFUL if she had've been eating tuna or something. DH thinks her breath is awful if she's eaten tomato (which she does ALL THE TIME in her "commercial" lunches. Something which incidentally she has decided she has a marked preference for). Interestingly too (and I hope its not TMI) I find her poo stinks pretty badly but is actually not remarkably dissimilar to the way it goes in. Those mashed meals look pretty much the same in the nappy as they do in the bowl (just with some added in seeds from cucumber etc).

Re the cluckiness, I told DH the other day that working in a hospital is going to mess with my biological instincts. I really am happy with just my two, however every time I go to the loo at work I run into about a million pregnant women and another million women with newborns. It gives me a little twang in the tummy, this sad feeling of knowing that I'll never be in that exciting place again.

Krystie, about your DH's reservations on having the second while Kyson is still waking o/n, in some ways I think it's better to just keep up the sleep deprivation rather than having another kid once you are used to getting a full night's sleep (even most nights). It was tough going back to that newborn haze of sleeplessness after about a year of consistent 12-hour nights from Natty. Even now, I find it harder to go back to waking for feeds when Phoebe's given me a couple of nights of solid sleep.

Re the teething, I know that the Baby Love book says the same thing. *Shrug* they can do their studies all they like. I think there is WAY too much anecdotal evidence to support the fact that teething screws with some kids. I have been fortunate I think, that my kids haven't suffered too much with it. With Natty I saw in hindsight that teeth could've been responsible for some issues we had. And Phoebe still only has two! Has had them for ages and there's no sign of any more yet. Personally I don't really care if it's teeth or some other developmental issue, we know when something's up with our babies and it would seem a heck of a coincidence to find that there are consistently these unsettled times that resolve somewhat when teeth come through. That article is really good though to reference when they get which teeth. And even the adult teeth can be really variable in making an appearance too.

Bridg & Nicky, sorry to hear about the illnesses. I hope you and your little ones are much better soon. Fortunately the girls haven't passed their colds onto me, but it's hard enough dealing with just them. I think Natty is just about over hers which is a relief, but Phoebe is still struggling. Poor little mite. I'm pleased tonight is cooler though - I have put the vaporiser on in her room and have my fingers crossed for a more settled night.

Cathy & Naomi, re vacuums - ours pretty much carked it around Christmas and we bought a new one in January. (We got DH's business to pay for it. I did the cleaning there once. PMSL! But it's only fair - it's because of the stupid business that I have had to go back to work. It bloody well owes me a vacuum cleaner at the very least.) Anyhoo, we bought a red one and Natty no longer cries or whinges or runs and hides when I vacuum. She is not in love with it or anything but just doesn't find it as scary. She's obviously a very superficial little thing Once I realised she wasn't as afraid of this one, I asked her if she'd like to have a turn and that helped too.

Amy: LOL that Natty likes the RED vacuum. It is good when you ask them to help hey. I love this age when they actually WANT to help!! Laura loves to help me sort washing, get groceries (in her little shopping trolley), clean up mess (well SOME times LOL)

Krystie: So excited for you!! Hope AF comes really soon! SO glad you can BF too!

I'm pretty tired..Cara woke up a lot last night...I was so stuffed I didn't make it to playgroup. She seems to have one rought night, followed by a good night, then a rough night.. It's cooler, but still humid. :-S

Cathy - I have a few pics of BF Bailey, but nothing as lovely as yours Your photo's are wonderful and precious! Love them! We are going to Mums for a BBQ on Sat, I might give Bailey some peanut butter there LOL, so if anything happens there are plenty of ppl around, I would be VERY surpised at a reaction though, and DH has eaten peanut butter while playing with Bailz

Nic - GL with todays appointment, hope all goes well, and if you see Amy, can you give her a clip across the ear from me for calling me a whackjob PMSL!! I liked the quote, its so true and real, babies DO make time go all funny And besides, I only quote people I admire

BG - that little dress that E was wearing is super pretty, I looked at your wedding photo's (stunning btw) and saw the other little girl wearing it - did someone make it?

Krystie - I bet you are super excited right now! I remember feeling the same, I was so glad that it was all happening, but I do remember that when Sean did our first injection (he always did them for me), I burst into tears, I think the enormity of the situation kinda came to a head at that point, but it was worth it, I remember we soon got used to the jabs, we would inject me in the car on the way out to dinner etc LOL

Man, I was gonna do more persies but just realised what the time is, I gotta go put the little man down for a nap otherwise we will be late for our playdate with our mothers group - we are off to the playcafe again, the babies LOVE it

Also, Bailey has been waking at 4-5ish for the last 4 days, I am wrecked, I have ended up giving him a 5am bottle for the last two days as I can't get him back to sleep any other way, I think its teething with a bit of a growth spurt thrown in, I hope he goes back to sleeping until 6-630 before I go back to work

Nic - hope you've had some news now that your appt is over with.

Nay - that dress we managed to pic up rather cheap for my littlest niece at Chain Reaction (cheapie clothes) - we were having gold stars as part of the table theme so it just worked! her big sister was going to have a dress made to match the junior bridesmaid and other flower girl (Midgie was going to be unique and wear the white and carry the rings) - but family breakdown between DH and his nephew (father of the kids) and myself and nephews wife (skanky ho biatch that is forbidden in my home or near my baby after some stuff she said) meant their kids weren't able to be in the wedding (and the kids STILL don't know that it wasn't our decision - we wanted them - they're still DH's nieces! - hell, i still have their present in our safe for them when they're old enough to understand) - anyway - we were still going to get older nieces dress made as the dress like E had on didn't go up big enough - we were at fountain gate and found her the dress - completely different shop, only in the bigger sizes! so we grabbed that (i had the pattern ready to be cut out that night for the other dress!). so it worked out heaps better. the material for the three girls dresses is still here and will eventually be used for something for me or for E. it was going to bring the bridesmaids and Midgie (littlest niece) together - it is blue that shimmers gold.
