well done KL - that's an awesoem number of eggs hun!

i managed to get quite a large number of eggs - but that is one of the side effects of PCOS - i managed to develop a lot of eggs (22 were harvested, 60+follicles drained) but half of those had not matured properly. 8-12 seems to be the number they target for.

take it easy tonight and tomorrow. take panadol if you need to. try to avoid anything stronger as the pain of codeine constipation on top of the bloating isn't much fun! the needle they jabbed you with is rather big and you have to keep in mind, you've been "poked" with it on every single follicle you had there - so you have lots of pin ***** injuries on already swollen and sore ovaries. fingers crossed for good fert results tomorrow. have they given you an idea of when transfer will be? there is supposed to be a melb meet up this weekend... i asked Div about contingency plans in case it rains though!

you mentioned stopping in to visit your folks on the way out here if you come - are they on this side of Melbourne?

Bella - i know we chatted on FB - but want to send you more hugs hun. i'm glad the "hurdle" to TTC has been overcome now for you. will be supporting you all the way when TTC happens again for you

Nay - so glad yesterday wasn't as bad as you'd feared. hoping today is better again - by now you should be on your way home (or maybe even there!) to great big Bailey snuggles again!

nicole - sounds like A's measurements are spot on - glad the head growth has slowed - that must be making you feel heaps better

argh - was gonna do more persies but i'm losing the plot tonight! been crook off and on for the past day or so. just upset tum, really really tired, very flat and generally yuk. but it comes and goes. no idea what it is - thought it was going earlier today but seems to be back. E isn't herself either. cut tooth number 4 yesterday and the next two are so close to coming through - i justwant the damn things through - the poor poppet seems to be very uncomfy!

Krystie, hope today was a huge success and you are recovering well.

My girls are doing very well. Natty's language is improving a lot and she has become a TOTAL chatterbox. We have had a breakthrough with the TT too - lots of wees and two poos (!) in the toilet so far. Phoebe is going great, and I MUST remember to book her in for a visit to the nurse as we haven't been for 3 months now. Am dead keen to see how much she weighs and how long she is. She is getting her 3rd tooth (top right) and has been a bit cranky with it, TBH. No troubles with the bottom ones, but she has been quite cranky with the top ones (I think Natty was too from memory...). She's going well with the crawling, but it hasn't given her the independence I'd hoped it might. She still wants to be carried around and entertained practically all the time.
She's doing pretty well overnight again, however last night she woke several times. I think it's this weather! It's too hot at bedtime for long jarmies, but gets quite cold overnight. Tonight is a bit cooler so I think I'm going to dress them warmer.
Am still feeling a bit hard done by, which sucks. My parents are away for three days and it's causing dramas for childcare. Once again, I am going to be the sucker who sorts it out and I will likely be late to work on Friday. I know that if my mum were around it would be dead easy but FIL doesn't think the same way she does and DH is so bloody hopeless - he has a wedding on Fri and so he is apparently useless to me.
This is precisely what I HATE about going back to work. It's actually quite enjoyable having some grown-up time and learning new skills, but organising childcare SUCKS. It's as though my kids are an inconvenience to everyone except me. (And that includes DH.) I HATE that they'd be thought of in that way, it makes me really upset. They are my first priority and I want them to be loved and looked after when I'm not there to do it.
Anyway, sorry for the rant and the ho-hum selfish post.

your kids should be your DH"s number one priority - it's not so hard to arrange to work around their care needs is it? grrrr. sorry you're going through this Amy!

I know. It sucks, but it's always been my grudge with him. It's like work comes before all of us. :(

That's great Krystie!!! I rememeber a fertility nurse gave us a little talk about hyperstimulation syndrome and if I recall correctly she said that about 100mls per egg is normally released by the ovary or egg or somewhere?? not quite sure, but the upshot was that it can leave you very bloated and it can also dehydrate you and leave your blood pressure a bit low which may be the reason you were feeling nauseous as that is a common sign of low bp. I am sure that BG knopws all the details very well and could teach us all about it but my advice is just go real slow and if you feel wrong just give your clinic a call and talk thru your symptoms. They will know what is ok and what needs follow up. Can you believe it tho? you new little one is currently being held by someone in a little petrie dish deciding what bits of you and what bits of DH it is going to take on:) How exciting!!!!!!!

yup - that all sounds about right Bella
definitely keep up the fluids K - and if you can, weigh yourself and measure your stomach - if the bloating gets worse, weigh yourself again. if you have overstimulated, you will put on a lot of weight quickly and it can be dangerous (the bad bad cases are rare - i've mildly hyperstimulated every time, but never to the point of gaining excessive weight or getting really unwell). it's normal to feel rather bloated - if it doesn't go down, if it gets worse, or you're at all concerned, call your clinic. if you have any other side effects (vomitting continues or you have any breathing or light headedness issues) call your clinic. the egg number you got is about what they aim for, so the risk of side effects is low - but it's still there. take care of yourself

Well my computer is all fixed (had some issues posting on here today but cleared cookies and seems to be working now) - so happy felt like my arm was missing not having the net or just having it really slow.

Naomi - Hope your second day back at work went ok, I still don't know what is happening with work but if I do go back will be quite weird leaving CJ for the day - I hope I get that sort of reaction from her that you got from Bailey - I have seen her do that for DH if she hasn't seen him for a couple of days (with his shifts sometimes can happen).

Is actually a bit annoying at the moment as his work are not even giving him a week in advance notice of his shifts, when he worked in faults always got three weeks ahead but is a real pain when like this week doesn't know till the Monday what hours will be working the following week.

K - Hope you are feeling less bloated and all goes well

BG - Hope you are also feeling better soon and Emerald too

Amy - Great news on the TT front with Natty - I know you were finding it pretty frustrating a while back - my mum reckons is all linked to their ability to talk which fits with Natty becoming such a chatterbox too.

Bella - Are you in a Mothers Group or similar, a friend from my mothers group is worried about her sister who is up in QLD (Mango Hill - is that really a suburb or have I just heard wrong) as says no Mothers Groups are organised in QLD by the council like they are down here? How did you go about getting into one if you are? I have said to get on to BellyBelly and look around in the different sections.

Cathy - Yes I think Raindrops did go back to the UK after not being over here very long at all, she was a friend on FB but seems to have disappeared off there as well.

Jacinta - Hope you are feeling a bit better. CJ isn't really saying anything either and like BG said in other thread don't think is anything to be concerned about at this age.

Nicole - Great stats from A, and must be great to have some dates now.

Nicky - Loved the invite DH saw on my FB too and was impressed.

Bridg - I have to admit like Nicky I didn't know what a backseat buddy was either!

Does everyone else have mobile bubs? CJ will push backwards and spin round on her stomach but no sign of going forward of getting onto her knees at all yet. I know really is probably just her laid back personality but I really want her to crawl just so I know she can and isn't an issue with her hips. The hospital said hips wouldn't affect her crawling and if she is late to crawl is her personality but you know how these things nag at you! At MG she just lays there and all the others are crawling all over even those a fair bit younger (she is also the baldest in MG (might be in this group too?) but am not fussed on that and know I was a real baldy). On weekend DH took away all her toys and had her on the floor reaching for a grape that was just out of reach for about 20 mins she didn't even get frustrated she did get her bum quite high in the air though but if bum is high head is down.

Bridg - I heard Shep was hit bad by the storms, glad you guys didn't get too affected, this weather is frigin crazy aint it? I should ring my bro and see how they fared! I am hoping they head over for Baileys Bday so I must give them a call and a pep talk :) Can't wait to check out the back seat buddy!

Krystie - Sounds like a great EPU mate. Great advice given by Bella and BG. I recall that I felt a bit 'crampy' after my EPU, I used a wheat heat bag which seemed to work a treat. At Repromed here in Adelaide they write the number of eggs collected on your hand while you are still under the GA so when you wake up you can see right away, seems crazy but I'm glad they did as that was the first thing I thought of when I woke. Bella is right, just think that your baby may already be on its journey (and starting its life in a petrie dish just like Aaron, Emerald and Bailey did in one way or another)

Nicky - the weather confuses me sometimes as to what to put Bailey in :o Mostly we've had warm weather so its shorts and Tshirts, but we've been in trackie daks a few days lately with low 20s. I struggle at night too with what to put Bailey in, its warmer when he goes to bed but then cools off so sometimes I take the thicker sleeping bag off and put the lightweight one on, I think I worry he'll be cold and tend to over heat him sometimes - Arrgghhh!! It was much easier in the middle of winter when they were little and you could just bundle them up against the cold, I DEFINATELY want another winter baby :D LOL @ these netball uniform - who designs these things? Not a really confidence outfit unless you are a stick figure, but I bet you will look great anyway - wooohooo with the fake tan! If you are as bad at me in applying it you'll have orange palms in no time LMAO

Vic - that spaghetti sucking vid on FB had me in stiches, I love the hilarious sucking action, CJ rocks with her eating, what a little legend! Re her crawling, some babies go straight to walking you know, do you know at what point you and DH reached these milestones, that MIGHT be an indication? I dont think Bailey would be crawling forwards even without his brace, although he is crawling backwards, it really is more of a push backwards (and our smooth tiles help him do it). What department is Ryan working for now? I should look him up in our directory now that I am back LOL! I thought they HAD to give 10 days notice of shifts, I know in our department we have to!

Bella - Yay re 2011 TTC, I am really happy for you babe. I have learnt that as woman we are genetically engineered to be Mums and god help anyone that gets in our way of motherhood or creating another baby - even a DH or an exam hehehehehe!! I wish you baby dust for baby #2 when the time is right for you to start trying

Thanks Babe, I have soon learnt even after just 2 days that time is so precious for me that even things like shopping are hard to find time for. When Sean goes back to work I think we will use the Coles Online for our grocery shopping, even if its a bit more expensive I think the convenience will pay for itself (and stop us from buying impulse lines while we are instore!!) Glad to hear you have some dates sorted for Aarons appts, at least you know a timeline of when you will have your next updates etc. Hang in there babe....... :hug:

It's funny while I was pregnant I was dead against videoing Baileys birth, but now I would LOVE to watch it from the other end so to speak. Although watching it might take away the 'romanticism' of my memory of it - you know what I mean, you remember what you want to remember and block out the rest LOL

J - It sure is getting scary that we have 1st birthdays upon us! Time sure does fly by, at work today I was feeling like I'd never left (and yet SOOOO much has happened since I did). Glad you are feeling a bit better, hope it stays that way for you!

Amy - I remember reading a post from you a week or so ago about how after going back to work you are making the most of quality time with your girls. I totally get it now, rather than being bogged down in the never-ending nappy changes, feeds, meals, naps blah blah blah - all of a sudden its an absolute delight again (when you dont have to do it all day long hahahaha). It certainly makes you appreciate the time with them doesn't it, even if it is at the change table PMSL. I am so sorry to hear that you are having a tough time babe. You are such a great Mum and it breaks my heart to hear that you feel your kids are an inconvenience to everyone else. I'd be proud to look after them ANY time - damn the frigin distance DOH! Your post is NOT selfish in anyway, you are always here to give the rest of us a pick up when we are low and struggling so I know personally I want to be able to return the favour. I wish I could come and offer some practical help, but in leui of that I wanted to send you some MASSIVE :hug: and let you know I am thinking of you and understand. Sometimes our DHs need a bit of a slap upside the head re priorities, so if you need me to administer one gimme a call LOL

BG - Are you feeling any better mate? And have you been to the Dr? If not I am demanding that you do - no ifs, buts or maybes! Look after yourself and take it easy. I reckon I was in the door by the time you posted, and yes I got some awesome cuddles again. I think Sean and Bailz had a tough day. Sean said Bailey was looking around and saying Mumma Mumma a lot and was grizzly so I think it wore Sean out by the end of the day trying to keep him happy. I think though that Bailey is just over tired, he missed his afternoon nap yesterday because the IL were here, woke at 330 this morning and really only snoozed after that, and only slept a total of 2 hours today. I am trying not to tread on Sean's toes too much (and failing miserably as I cant help myself) but I explained to him the whole sleep promotes sleep thing and this has to be his number one priority. Hopefully they'll both get used to the changes in the next few days as both tonight and last night Bailey has gone to be early as he is just buggered (which sucks for me as I want to play LOL). I am glad though that DH FINALLY understands what it is like to get nothing done all day and how draining these little ones can be (not that I want it to be at the expense of Baileys happiness but it was bound to happen at some point)

Well day 2 was easier, I still cried when I left home and had a few tear up moments but again got stuck into work to distract myself to make the day fly by. Fortunately there is plenty for me to do atm so its easy to find some distraction. Thursday is my RDO so we are off to Mothers Group in the morning after our morning nap and my Mum is popping around for a visit in the arvo and I am gonna make sure Bailey has some decent sleeps and try to get that back on track. Oh and how exciting - we are off to buy a new vacuum - crazy I know but I cant wait LOL (I am turning into a demented housewifey, work will soon knock that back out of me!!)

Nay - glad day two wasnt' as hard as day one - i think friday might test you a bit again after having tomorrow home - but with luck, sean will see how important sleep is for Bailz. thankfully (i think) with C having so much time off lately he's seen the difference and knows E needs sleep (and can actually make the call as to when. will be interesting to see how he goes with getting her to nap though!

haven't been to the doctors - just taking it easy on my own. the local GP is a twit, and not here often - to get into any other doctor i have to get into town - which is hard cos i have to work around mum. i'm not sick now, just flat. last night i thought maybe i was sick sick - but now i'm just tired and flat. i'll get over it! i think bad nights with E and this teething gig isn't helping at all. C and I both have headaches tonight. ive' given him a massage and am going to give him another soon. i hate seeing him like this - has to be bad for him to succumb to pain killers. apparently the boss of the place he's working said it's very common for people to get headaches from working in that environment. GREAT. so it's hard labour, dirty work - and they all get headaches. poor buggers. crap pay too lol

I have been doing our Wollies on-line since I was 31 weeks PG and think it's great...save you time and money!! Even buy our pet food on-line as well.
The time we have with these little ones is sooo precious who wants to be shopping for pasta and toilet paper.

My muscles are currently screaming at me. They are not happy. Today will be a no cleaning day in my house. I will only be getting up when the kids need something. I cannot believe the amount of running we had to do... ws alright for most of the others. Skinny minis. lol. I got through it still alive which was great. I will be dropping dress sizes before I know it though. It's insane!

BG - Thanks for all your support and helpful advice! I ended up taking a couple of panadol late yesterday afternoon because it was hurting enough that I couldn't walk standing fully straight. It's still tender today, but much better than yesterday :) Oh, and I've been a good girl and am weighing myself daily like you suggested.
I'll have to pop over to the melb meetup thread again. I remember seeing it and I think I said I would go, so I better check the details. Transfer should be on Monday, so this weekend should be fine.
My parents life in Cranbourne, which I don't think is exactly "on the way", but is it sort of toward the right direction? I'm not sure exactly where you are so I'm not sure...
I hope you and E are both feeling better soon. Gosh illnesses that hang on for ages are sooooo annoying! Sometimes I would prefer to be really sick for a few days, than to be moderately sick for ages.

Amy - Nat's talking must be so cute. I can't wait for Kyson to start talking. He may have said his first word this morning but I'm not sure. After our nap he woke up, climbed on me to look at the other side of the bed where DH sleeps at night and was saying "dada dada". Could have been coincidence so I'll see if he does it again.
I love finding out Kyson's weight. My last nurse visit was at 8 months, and the next isn't until 12 months. I take him into my work once a month though and pop him on our "cat" scales, lol. They are the exact same brand and model that my nurse's office has, hehe. Hopefully Phoebe will start to be more content to play on the floor by herself soon. Since Kyson has been walking he's better at playing by himself. He still wants me to be pretty close by though.
I hope the cc situation isn't driving you too batty :(

Bella - Hmmm, I reckon you are problely right about the bp thing. It was fine at the hospital before I left, but it wasn't until I stood up when I got out of the car that I felt the need to run to the bathroom. Maybe my bp was lowish, and standing up just pushed me over the edge. Luckily I've felt fine ever since. I spoke to my nurse this morning and she thoguht everything sounded pretty normal. I also asked her if there is something in the procedure that might irritate my diaphram as I'm having referred pain in my shoulder (only knew what it was because I had it so bad after my gall bladder was removed. My "shoulder" hurt more than the surgical site!). She said it can be caused by the positioning of my body during the procedure, or from gas being left in there. I'm betting on the gas, because that's what caused it last time. It's not too bad though, just enough for me to notice and wonder about.

Vic - Having no computer and internet makes you feel even more naked than when you acidentally leave your mobile phone at home for the day, lol. Glad the computer is back up and running for you.
With regards to CJ's mobility, don't stress to much hun. Just remember, she's not going to be 14 and not walking. She's just going to do it all in her own time. My niece didn't walk until just before her 2nd birthday, but she 4 now and definitely a pro at walking, hehe. Also, you never know, CJ might decide to go straight to walking and bypass crawling all together!

Nay - How cute that they write the number of eggs on patients hands! I was told before the EPU that I would get a form with the number on it, and then the nurse said that they will tell me in recovery too, but that I'll probably not remember them telling me. Well, in recovery I remember two different nurses coming over to tell me how many eggs, but I have no idea if they told me more times before that, lol.
I hope you are thoroughly enjoying your rdo today! I'm sure Bailey and Sean will get themselves into a routine soon enough. Sean probably just didn't realise how important those naps were to Bailey. After a few cranky days he'd probably work it out pretty quickly, hehe.

Nicky - I had to go and buy Kyson a couple of pairs of pants recently. One day I went to put a pair of shorts on him and realised that I was trying to put on a pair of his pants that had just gotten way too small! LOL! At least all the shops have now got their winter stock in so it's not too hard to find warmer clothes. I'm getting lucky because my best friend is going to send a bunch of her sons old clothes down for me. I'm pretty sure Kyson won't fit into them for a while yet though. Oh, and I saw Allira's walking video. Isn't the baby steps so adorable?!

Nicole - I wish I could have been awake during the EPU. I get rather nervous about anaesthetics (not sure why, you'd think a surgical vet nurse would be fine with them...) but they don't give you a choice here.

Want to guess what part of the IVF journey I'm actually finding the hardest emotionally at the moment? I'm having a hard time knowing how I feel about my future baby being "nurtured" so far away from me right now. I mean, yesterday was the longest I've even ever been away from Kyson (3ish hours for the procedure, then 2 1/2 in the afternoon when DH took him for a visit with my PIL), so to be away from my "baby" for 5 days is really messing with me emotionally. I had a bit of a cry last night. I didn't let DH know how upset I was about it though, because I thought it might seem silly. I did mention what you said Bella, about our little one already starting it's life, and he seemed to get a bit excited about that :)

I was really glad he got a bit excited because I was getting worried that he just didn't want this baby at all. I knew that he would have been happy to stop after Kyson, but I don't want him to be just doing it for me. Although he's not overjoyed at the moment, he's admitted that once it's all "real" that he knows he'll get excited about having another baby. In fact, yesterday while I was having the EPU, he took Kyson to Chaddy and was looking at baby clothes. Apparently he nearly bought a little dress. He stopped when he realised it was $150!!! LOL!

I just spoke to my nurse. Of our 10 eggs, 7 have fertilised :) The nurse said that this is a good result. Hopefully things will look really good on Saturday when they are due to do the PGD. Fingers crossed!


And in Kyson news: :D
Kyson just cut his second tooth today! He now has two eensy weensy pearly whites in the bottom middle of his mouth. How quickly once they cut the gum do they shoot up so that they look like proper teeth. So far they are still just sitting at the gum line.

Also, he's walking up a storm now. He walks everywhere! He even just goes back and forth from the couch to the window and back to practise. It's so cute. He accidetally ran to me yesterday. I think he leaned forward a bit too much and had to pump those little legs to stop from falling on his face ;)

Ok, time to pick up the DSS's!

yay on the fert rate K - that's great news! anything over 50% fertilisation is considered very good!

with Kysons teeth, they will come up to be little "teeth" pretty quickly - hopefully his top teeth come through quickly now as well. E's got two of the top ones, two on the brink. driving us all insane!

cranbourne is kinda on the way - but depends on which way you want to come! if you come down the freeway, it's way off the path. if you head out to this side of melbourne and continue along the monash out towards warragul - we're further out than that. if you want to go via cranbourne though, you can come down the south gippy highway, and get here via korrumburra/leongatha. takes a bit longer, but is a prettier drive!

ooh, DH home and E trying to get out to him through the window - better run! bbl
