Wow!!! :o
Where is everyone? Too busy!?
Hope everyone is well. Darcie is going well...growing SOOO fast it's not funny! We are cozily co-sleeping still and loving it. I have Max on one side of me and Darcie on the other. Couldn't get more love! DH went back to Singa yesterday so 3 more weeks and we will be heading back there too. I am totally petrified. Going to have to get a routine all over again (not that i have much of one now....but there is a reason for that....my life is just a fluff!), I'm worried about how bored I will be, and lonely. All you girls have to come back more often to keep me sane....although not sure if Max will appreciate that... sigh!
I sent off for Darcies passport on Saturday, so I hope to get it in 10 days. So cute the little picture in it, although I'm not sure they will know it's her when she is 5 years old!
Trying to have a busy week.....going to Myer today to use some old vouchers and take advantage of cool sales.....tomorrow I'm going visiting my mothers group near 'my' house, Thursday....hmmmmm.....and Friday going to meet Sharon & Krikkit! Girls I hope our colds will be long gone by then.
I hope everyone else is going well. Miskilla I saw your Zen Baby had a megga sleep....can I say I'm jealous much! :)
MT I got all my Bubblebubs stuff yesterday but will start to use it when I get to Singas.....wish I could smell them though....this cold is destroying my bum wiping pleasure! :)
Sunshine How are you and Sheriden Hun? What is this cranial stuff you mentioned in another post?
Come back everyone and let us know how you are going!
I'm here, promise I'll try get back on later today. Weekend was busy but good. Mornings are crazy running around getting ds1 ready for kindy, lunch made, breaky done etc... while trying to feed ds2, have a shower and poke and prod dh to get out of bed and go to work! He has to leave by 7:15am or he's late!
Speaking of late, we need to leave for kindy in 20mins and I'm on here in my jammies still!! Off to have a shower and move some butt at high speed so we're not too late! :)
p.s. - Yay for Friday!!! A little snot doesn't worry me hun, as long as it's not gastro I'm fine. They're little enough not to be chewing on toys and sharing germs at this age.
No gastro here.....Just the megga snots! x
*wail*
I need to come back later to do a proper post, but I just need to sob among friends for a minute - I was expressing, and had done about 120mls, then for no apparent reason the cup detatched from the pump, and landed upside down on the rug - causing all of the milk to go into and under the rug, where it is of absolutely no value to my hungry little man!
And then after balling my eyes out completely (ironic, actually crying over spilled milk!) I picked myself up, finished expressing (another 120 mls) had a salt bath, and got Joshua ready to go to playgroup for the very first time, got there a little late but not much - and found out that they don't meet during the school holidays! So there was no one there!
So back at home, trying not to have a pity party ... I need a hug!
Oh Peanutter! What a day. I recall expressing & spilling the whole lot too -- only my boobies would only put out about 70mls altogether after about 40mins of pumping. I was so 5h1tty. And who would think playgroup wouldn't meet on the hols. I guess that's to allow for those with older kids who are at kindy or school.
Yules - sounds like all is going well for you. At least when you get back to Singas you'll have your maid back to assist you (?).
Sharon - Sounds like things are crazy at your house.
Sunshine - well done to Sheridan for rolling over so early. Aly HATES tummy time, so am finding it hard to force her to do it. She screams alot.
Miskilla - sounds like things are going well for you guys.
AFM - well last week we had our friends 3 teenage kids to stay. So, we had the school run each day, plus extra lunches, dinners, etc to make. You would think by that age they would be in a routine to get lunch boxes out of bags, do homework, have a shower......NO. So anyway, they are great kids & I was sad to see them go (the family have moved to Tassie & have been our besties for 11 years or so). It felt like my own kids were leaving...... Aly is going well. Mummy is a bit dopey though, yesterday the poor little thing wouldn't settle & kept chucking after minimal feeds (not like her at all). Unfortunately it took me till 7pm last night to work out the pants she had been wearing all afternoon were too tight & causing her discomfort. So today, we visited Target & got some new stuff. Ooops! We live & learn. Our house is now under contract so we should be moving end of August. Now to find somewhere to move to.....
Take care & have fun all.
Sending you loads of virtual hugs peanutter
BBL when not typing 1 handed - and with the left at that!
I'm finally able to spend 5 mins to post a reply instead of just reading while Deacon is sleeping
Peanutter: BIG  to you. Firstly, sorry to read about your post-birth problems "down there". Hope it is all coming along well for you. Second, sorry to hear about how your day went on Thursday. I did the same with the first little amount of milk I was able to express when I first came home from hospital. DH thought it was funny that I was crying over spilt milk, MEN..... Glad to hear little Joshua is coming along well.
Yules: Hope all your colds are clearing up. Deac & I both had a few snots the other day, but it looks like they have cleared out already. Darcie is such a little cutie.
Peta: Glad to hear Aly is going well. Oops at the pants.... Good luck with finding a new house :goodluck:
Sharon: Yay to Logan doing so well. Sounds like our little ones are following a similar pattern. Deac feeds around 8-9 then 2-3 and then when DH is up for work at 6-7. He is also quite good at going straight to sleep after his night feeds, but is a little harder during the day, especially in the afternoon.
Sunshine: Wow at Miss S rolling over already :o
Crumpet: Good luck for the 12th. Yay to a possible wormette :stickyvibesgirl:
Miskilla: Sorry to hear about the trouble you had with your mum when your little Zen baby was born. Yay to Tasman helping you out so much and your good night time sleeps.
Holly: Hope everything went well with Carmello getting his needles.
AFM: We are going really well. As I said above, Deac is getting into a good night pattern of only waking for one feed between when we go to bed and DH has to get up for work. Fingers crossed that keeps up or only improves ;)
We started going to a new mothers group on Friday. That was good. Met a couple of really nice new mothers. Hopefully we will all be able to keep in touch and still meet up after the group visits at the health centre finish.
We are booked in for our six week check up and needles on Monday. Fingers crossed that all goes well.
Deacon has been smiling and laughing and "talking" for the last week or two. I have a little bumble bee toy on his change table that he loves conversing with while I'm changing him. I managed to remember to grab the video camera the other day and record it
Well, I'd better go, I can hear little munchkin stirring. Can't believe I've managed to do a post with persies......:o
Hope you and your little ones are all doing well. I would say yay to the weekend, but weekend's don't mean what they used to, one day kinda rolls into the next and I really have to think hard when someone asks what day or date it is......
I was thinking everyone was really busy cause I haven't had any notificaitons???
WHen miss J goes down for a sleep i'll come back and post more.
I think we must all be in teh same boat!!
I was just popping in to say hi - haven't got long with everything else going on. It has been a super busy week with a number of things going on, but Jett got a cold/virus and has been a real pill this week. And then yesterday I copped it, with everything aching like the flu - all my joints and bones and not being able to get warm. But I had no temp and seem to be getting better today. Feel like the weekend with DH has been wasted though  Emmelyn is still doing well, but has been quite unsettled today - my thinking is she might have caught the virus I had yesterday, but no way to tell cos she can't speak and there were no outward symptoms.
Hope everyone else is faring well, and hopefully I will get a little more time to jump on here this week!
Hi girls,
another here who is flat out at the moment! Especially with school hols, no break for me! :)
Poor Logan has a cold, he's sooo snuffly and sneezing about 20 times a day. Poor kid, it's a struggle to feed and even worse for him to try sleep. For the life of me I can't make the 'snot sucker' work.... anyone have any suggestions?????
Sharon - I hope Darcie didn't give Logan the snots! Snot sucker....I can only suggest that you squirt the stuff up there, and try and close the other nostril before you suck! It's hard with such little noses huh!
I had Darcie at the CHN yesterday for her 6 week check and she weighs in at 4.4kg....she is still so little! I'm well aware that some have pushed babies out that big! Ouchie! We had a good night sleep last night. Last feed at 10pm.....then 2:30am, then 6am. Love it considering the night before she screamed half the night away coz she couldn't get a poo out.
DH best friend is coming to take Max out for the day tomorrow. I'm so excited to spend the day with just my girl. I might watch New Moon seeing as I can't get to see Eclipse!
I'm starting to pack ready to go back to Singas. So bitter sweet at the moment :(
Hope everyone is well x
Go Darcie! As long as she is growing all is good! Can't believe how gorgeous and petite she is!!! Logan looked like a giant child! hahaha!
Does anyone have tips on how to get your babies to sleep in their own cot??? Logan was up until 11:30pm last night, grizzling and crying and very unhappy! When he finally settled he was up at 12:30 for a feed, then again at 3:00am!?!?! Then up for the day just before 6am! It's now 8am and he's FINALLY dropped off in his rocker. Should I move him to the cot or just let him be?
I feel like my eyes are hanging out of my head at the moment!
Sharon - Depending on what james is doing, I would be picking up logan and taking him to bed with me :) If that isn't an option, I'd let him be. Maybe he was cold last night?
Ian is such a heavy sleeper I don't trust having Logan in bed with us. Would be nice though :(
Sharon: Not sure on that one hun as we have had Deacon in a cot in his own room from the day we got home. Maybe it might have just been coz of the cold as Yules suggested. BTW what's a snot sucker?? I think Deac is coming down with a cold as his snots are getting worse so would love to have something to try and help get rid of them.
Yules: Glad to hear Darcie is doing well. Good luck with your packing to go back to Singas.
MT: Good to hear Emelyn is doing well. Hope she isn't coming down with the cold/flu.
:hello: to everyone I've missed.
AFM: We had our 6 week check and needles yesterday. Everything went well. Deac is now 57cm long, 4.56kg and HC of 37cm. Everything else checked out fantastic and the dr said his reflexes and hand/eye co-ordination is slightly advanced for his age. By the way that he is growing in length, it looks like he will be tall and skinny like his dad (and not short and podgy like me.... ;) )
He handled the needles okay. He let out an awful cry when they went in but settled down within a minute just with some mummy cuddles. A few hours after being at home he woke up from a sleep and had a fever and some pain so we gave him some panadol and a really good feed and he was happy as larry for the rest of the night and has woken up in a good mood today after a good night's sleep.
We have a big weekend planned as we go to our first archery shoot in 12 months. Will be a long day Saturday as we have to leave home about 5:30-6am and won't be home until well after dark. Fingers crossed Deac handles it well. It will be good to see everyone and introduce them to Deac as we hope he takes to the sport like DH did and we will be going to lots more once he is able to shoot a bow himself.
Hope you all have a good rest of the week and are getting lots of cuddles with your little ones. :D
HI All
Well it must be getting to immunisation time for all. Aly just had her's this morning & boy did she scream. A big cuddle from mummy (who was also close to tears) and she calmed down. She's asleep now but we are off house hunting soon, so I think I will give her a dose of panadol before we leave for "Justin".
Sounds like everyone is busy & bubs are all getting out & about with the families.
Snot Sucker - these are tricky little buggers I find! I just keep trying till I get it. I have heard you can get saline drops which work well also (sorry not sure of the brand).
Sleeping in the Cot - Aly has been in her cot since day 1. Sometimes she will fall asleep in her rocker & so I just put the rocker into the cot & leave her there (rather than disturbing her). I do wonder if it is bad for their posture to be sleeping half upright in the rocker though.
Ok well best start getting organised for the house shopping trip. Speak soon.
