i find iteasier to go out when troy is here to have scarlet, so i take hayley out with me when she home and leave scarlet here with him unless we al going, or he asleep then i take her.
she isnt to bad soemtimes but othertimes its hard,
tina sounds like sleeping like scarlet, she is roughly same times from midnight, the before could be anytime, im finding sheis awake more during day today she only slept prolly 4hrs from 7am till 9.30pm big day for her lol,
oh well hopefully she will sleep well tonight for troy lol
dtd we have only done it 2 times so far,
you guys with dry bits have u tried using lube to, as we need the lube cause of the condoms of course it was still but weird feeling for me sore ish, but once i relaxed and got into it was not feeling pain really,
so maybe try lube and relax and itmight happen lol and not hurt so much,
We had a better night last night as night before M was awake most of the night with wind pains i tryed everything but couldnt get it to budge so last night we did the bath before bed and i used gripe water as infants friends dosent seem to do anything and we had some sucess which was great managed 6 hrs straight which is good compared to up every half hour.
As for leaving the house i havent taken M out of the house yet as it is so wet and cold and we have enough problems with wind now without going outside into the wind. I find it hard enough to get organised to do anything lately if i go somewhere i just leave M with DP.
As for dtd we havent even tryed yet half the time i end up out the couch or in with oldest DD. Maybe we might get time soon enough as bleeding and all has finished now (i think) every time i say that it comes back.
I weighed M yesterday and she is 3.4kg 7Ib 6oz so gaining weight which is good.
Anyway i have to go and tackle my laundry that is full of washing that i cant get dry etc.
Takecare everyone BFN
We're back, we had a ball catching up with family etc but boy was it great to be back in my own bed! Plus I missed my furbaby
Car made it home but it looks like i'm going to be without a car for a few days or maybe even the whole 2 weeks DH is away while he pulls out the turbo and fixes it, just means I have to drive his 4WD ute and I hate parking the thing, it feels like a tank but on the upside the carseat in there is nice & high and easy to get A in and out of lol.
Oh lots for me to catch up on so forgive me for no personals today. I've had a quick read and saw we have someone new - welcome JCEC to our little group.
I've got my first mothers group this arvo, looking forward to it as I don't really know anyone else with a baby........well my cousin's wife had one last week but I don't have much to do with that side of the family - as they say you can chose your friends but not your family
Will be back later, gotta go get ready & feed A before we head out.
I forgot to mention earlier that E has started smiling at me. It's sooo gorgeous! And as for him not pooping for 2 days, he did a ripper of a poop last night at 2am. Lol. Of all times - 2am! But he's sleeping better today so that's good. Well I'm off to have a nap while he's asleep.
Been so busy, trying to keep up with the washing, house work, spending some 1 on 1 time with DD#1 and the inlaws have gone away so have to help out with the office work, theres been no extra time to get on here. I have been spending my nights on the computer trying to finish off my birth ann/ thank you cards so I can finally get them sent off, my goodness I'm tired!! lol Most people are tired cuz of their bubs, mine is just from staying up too late!
H has been sleeping beautifully, feeding VERY well and is fairly settled, but does have her 'witching hour' most days around the time I need to start putting dinner on of an afternoon! Thankfully she loves her mobile in her cot so I just keep putting that one for her until she gets over it.. I usually get enough time to get dinner all prepared by the time she gets over it.
Pheonix - Welcome back! Hope you have a great time at mother's group this afternoon. I really enjoyed it with DD, met some great ladies.
Outings - I take both the girls out a fair bit. I get over being inside all the time, as does T so I try to get out and about most days. Some days we don't leave the park, just head over to the office, T plays in the back yard or colours in while I'm working and she's happy.
Sorry for no other personals, I really gotta get back to this washing... I have 3 loads to fold
Phonenix - Welcome back! Hope you have a good time at mothers group today.
Tiff - Hope you get your washing done. Mine is slowly getting there!
Sleepy - Hope you have a nice nap! I have only had 1 daytime nap since P was born. T doesn't sleep during the day so neither can I. I'm just lucky that P settles well overnight most of the time.
Taking bubs out - I try and get out a few times a week. I must say it is easier when I only have to take Phoebe but Tiana is getting easier to reason with all the time! I can also usually bribe her into behaving with a smartie cookie! I will not however attempt grocery shopping with them. That waits until DH can come!
I had my six week check yesterday. My uterus hasn't entirely contracted yet so I have drugs to stop the bleeding and antibiotics for a sinus infection I have managed to develop. I also got needles for swine flu and whooping cough. I never realised how dangerous whooping cough is for bubbas! I did however get out of a pap smear for a couple of weeks because of the bleeding! I am hoping to take T to the local show if the weather is good this weekend. I love the ekka but she is still too young for that but I think she will really love the local show! What is everyone else up to?
Ahhh, this is a bit of a vent. A has been so naughty this morning. If i have E in the sling (which I often do because getting her to nap in her bed takes a marathon effort which is pretty hard with a toddler), A is constantly doing things to provoke a reaction from me. I can't seem to get it right. I really don't want to get angry at A because I know she's doing pretty well given she now has to share me, but she's doing my head in! And i've been trying to get E to sleep for the past hour, to no avail. *sigh* Is a shower too much to ask for?
Hope the afternoon gets better for you pmccask! Maybe try a bath with all of you? I know it isn't a shower by yourself but at least you would get clean and entertain A while hopefully settling E?
Pmccask - I really feel for you. I know what you're going thru. Almost every day C does something to aggrivate me. I know he isn't doing it on purpose but it's usually at a time when my hands are full. I end up getting cranky, but feel guilty afterwards. So take a few minutes, try and make a cup of tea and relax. A bath is a great idea. If you'll all fit that wouldn't work for me. But I did bath C and E together last night. So they both relaxed. E slept heaps better last night too. We all have good days and bad days, and tomorrow is a new day
Ok i am getting better, i have managed to post twice in a week! yay for me!!
I think it was sleepy who asked...my DD name is Amalee.
Things have been going well for us...A has been sleeping great guns and we had our first big nights sleep the other night - 7 hours!! i couldn't believe it when i woke up and saw the clock...although realised it had been a while as my boobies were killing me!!! She has been great since then - 4/5 hour breaks between feeds so finally starting to feel human! I have had a cold though which hasn't been easy, but my mum is on leave and has been a life saver coming over to help me with everything.
I really praise you ladies that have a new born and toddler - i seriously don't know if i can do it again!!!! big pat on the backs to you all - amazing women we have here!!!
Going out - i am starting to get the hang of it all now and forcing myself to go out regularly...although A usually decides to spew on me or herself as we are heading out the door and we have to start all over again!
DTD - not going there yet...if ever again! J/K! Due to the extra stitching i had, i was told not to do anything until at the very least my 6 week check...which is next week. I am hoping that everything will be all healed by then but even still not sure how comfy i will be to DTD again for at least a little bit...although i have told DH that i will be keen for other fun activities!! hehehe Traylee - i will def remember the lube!
Anyways, hope you are all having a good night...DH just settled A so i am going to chill on the couch
BTW: What sort of 'routine' are you all getting into atm? Do you have specific times that bubs tends to sleep in the morning/arvo or do you just take it as it comes??? xo
jcec, i take it as it comes, she feeds when hungry sleeps when tired i guess, hayley never had a set routine till she was 2 lol, cause she use to sleep anywhere before 8.30 so we use to just put her tobed, when she hit 2 i started to send her to bed, and she is great since, always goes to bed when told etc etc, i will start a routine sooner with scarlet though i just find when they are babies it easier to let them feed and sleep when they want to as its easier on me i find they dont understand as yet
sometimes she sleeps well during day othertime not so well
im back to being awake from 4pm till 9 ish pm the last 2 days thouhg, but she only waking 2 times between 9.30 and 7am, so not bad i spose,
i guess mums will do what is best for there bubs and what easier on them,
HI JCEC, we have a set routine here (I know so many people disagree with it but it works for us), Hunter seems to like it and now he is like a little alarm clock! We are loosely following the Tizzy Hall routine and he seemed to follow that sort of routine anyway - feeding 4 hourly during the day! Only thing I had to do was coax him to feed at a more suitable time for a couple of days, I mean offer him food at 7am (even if he feed at 5am) and he now does the same thing most days :-) I am returning to work in 7 weeks so routine is the key for the sanity of our household!
Our day is something like this:
7am wake up to start the day (every morning he wakes anywhere between 645-715 of his own accord) bottle, play
815am sleep
11am bottle, play
1215pm sleep
3pm bottle, play
430pm meant to sleep for an hour - but most days he only kips for 15 minutes at time - this is his cranky time before his bath!!!
530pm bath and massage
6-630pm bottle
7pm bed
10pm dreamfeed
He wakes once during the night (last couple of nights he went to 4-430 but last night was 2)
7am wake up
Some days he sleeps for longer than others and his sleep times will get later as he gets older ;-)
So I'm sitting here still in my PJ's, but having a good day so who really cares?! I have got a lot of my house work done, H has been an angel today and last night, only really waking for a feed, although she has been awake for the last half hour, but is happily laying on the floor kicking about. Last night we fed at 10pm, 3am then this morning at 7am... Wonderful night!! Then she slept until 9:30.
As for a Rountine - It's no existant really. She feeds roughly every hour. Is never usually awake for more than 30-45 mins, but does have a 'witching hour' of an afternoon and can be awake for a lot longer. She's usually down in bed at night by about 8pm and never usually gets out of bed until about 9am as she sleeps so solidly and falls asleep on the boob between these times so I don't like to disterb her.
Pmccask - I hope you're having a better day today! T has been a little 'trying' lately. I'm just not sure if it's the 'terrible 2s' finally kicking in (well I think I had it pretty good before, she would still play up, but not this bad!), or if it is having H around that has made her worse. T is fantastic with H, we have no probe there apart from her trying to sqeeze her for cuddles, etc. Enjoy your weekend, I hope DH takes the bubs for you for a while so you can have a nice relaxing bath/ shower.
Hope you're all enjoying your weekend. Time to get this baby off the floor before she cracks it!
Wow i feel so alive today its great We Have had a huge turn around with M ever since we started using the gripe water of a night and putting her down in the pram last night fed at 7 slept till 2 back to sleep till 9 this morning hopefully things stay this way now.(figers crossed)
as for the routine i kinda just go with the flow but in the day i pick her up and feed her every 3-4 hrs as other wise she misses feeds and then the night can become abit disasterous if i didnt pick her up in the day to feed she would sleep all day.
I sometimes dont get out of my pj's either till all hours and sometimes would just love to jump in the shower but never seems to happen when i want it to.
Quick question How much weight have your bubs gained since birth?
I hope everyone has a great weekend.
takecare and bye for now.
Hi Guys!
I suck.
I have so much to catch up on, its just not funny!
I've been trying to keep up, but with Dr appointments, harness adjustments, visitors and sick hubby its gotten away from me!
hi all
routine - we don't really have one yet. E is feeding about every 2.5-3.5hrs during the day, ideally doing feed, play, sleep but having a bit of trouble with the sleep component this week. Then in bed by about 8pm after a bath and feed. Sometimes takes a while to get her to sleep, but once she's down she is waking around 12:30/1am, then again some time between 4 and 6am. Superstar, I'm VERY jealous of your routine. From memory we started something fairly similar with A when she was about 2 months, once she was sleeping in longer blocks during the night. I am a creature of habit and really need a routine but have been finding it very hard to form much of one just yet.
weight - I haven't had E weighed in a couple of weeks, but she'd put on what she lost and about 200g more when we had her checked at 2 weeks.
I am currently enjoying a nice relaxing evening on my own! yay! My DH has gone to watch the rugby at my parents and taken DD with him...so nice to be on my own!
As for our routine - we have nothing particularly set - during the day i try and put A down for a sleep late morning and late arvo but generally just let her sleep when she wants to. Night time we have a bit more of a set routine i guess. She has a feed by 8pm and we put her in the cot to sleep - sometimes she just lies there and looks around but she is usually pretty happy to keep herself amused if she doesn't sleep. She has a final feed between 10 and 11pm and usually sleeps to 4/5am. Feed again and then sleeps again until sometime between 7 and 9. It's nice to be able to have a bit of a sleep in or get up and shower before DD wakes to start the day. Anyways, that seems to be where we are at at the moment. I have to start getting the day time sleeps a bit more sorted as i am going back to uni next semester and need to make sure i have a few block hours during the day to study.
Weight - Last time i had her weighed A was 4 weeks and had put on 500gms more than her birth weight - so had gained 800gms since leaving hospital - she really is a little chubba and looks so much older than she is!! hehehe i would say she has gained another 200gms at least since then.
