took her in to get weighed today she is 3.77kgs, so she has gained 510grams in 19 days since she last got weighed, now for you ladies who have unsettled bubs after feeds etc, have you tried to make there beds raised, we put a phone book under the bassinette and we havent had a problems with scarlet now, it was def like reflux and tummy issues,
maybe you girls could try that and see how u go, scarlet has settled right down now,
i had her last night she slept from 7.30 to 12.30, then woke at 4 then 6.30, but she isnt being the pain she was anymore lol

Welcome caplaylolmay to our little group.......I'm a stalker but this was my belly buddies group & I didn't want to leave them.
Tina - poor little Z hope he settles for you soon, seeing them with wind and any sort of pain and not being able to do anything to help them is heart wrenching. A seems to be saving her wind up for arvo & night times and spends hours grunting, groaning, farting and crying and when it's all over you can see the look of relief on her face. Tummy massage like Sleepy suggested helps calm her and also DH lays her on her back on his lap, curling her legs towards her belly & plays bicycles with her legs which seems to help out the farts......poo-plosions have been a side effect of that though :)
Superstar - sounds like you've got an unhappy chappy too, apparently 4 weeks can be approx age for colic to start acting up. Hoping he settles down for you and you get some rest today too.
Traylee - Sex, what's that lol think DH would faint from shock if I suggested it hahaha I feel bad for him but I'm just starting to feel semi-human again.
Hello to everyone.
A now has a dummy at night, seems to be only thing that will help her settle night time tantrums she's currently having. I'm dreading DH going back to work and being home for two weeks on my own, from about 6pm -10.30ish or like a few nights ago midnight - 1am all she wants is to be held or fed.
Gotta run, grumpy baby and I better get packing or we won't be going anywhere tomorrow :)

Hi and thanks for the warm welcome everyone.
Super- My birth was nice and quick being my fourth i was induced to prolonged rupture of membranes once again third time being induced for this reason i only ever got my 1 all natural birth without induction (lucky i got 1)
I was induced 8:50am and May was born at 10:40am so 1hr 50min labour it was my most easiest birth everDP just made it in a matter of seconds he walked in right as the head was crowning and i was about to push her out so was very lucky to make it.
12 hours later i had a PPH which was the scariest thing ever really frightened me.
For those bottle feeding does your bub spew up much?
We had a good night last night first half was unsettled got her settled at 1:00am and she slept till 8:00am this morning so i cant complain thats 7 hrs straight
Do anyone else seem to have to do top up feeds at night??
we seem to have to at night to get her settled she is always looking for that bit more 1 to 2 hours after the first feed.
I would love to hear about some of your births???
anyway takecare and will pop back abit later.

caplaylolmay, maybe ur giving her to much, scarlet spews when we give her to much, but also reflux, is it alot or a little, she is now 3.7kgs and is on s26 and has 90 mls roughly eveyr 3hrs soemtimes longer, she was spewing for a bit but now we make sure we hold her up to feed her and hold her up for at least 10mins patting her before we put her down to clear out wind,
and make sure when she sleeps is raised to stop the spewing, my first was so different from what scarlet is lol.
its just trial and error, if she is projectile vomiting then thats probly why she wants tops up scarlet was like that, btu once we sorted out it being reflux and raised the bassinette and fed her upright and held her for a while upright seems to have stopped and no more is coming out its all goin down
and wow lucky you gettng 7hrs straight sleep,
-
Caplayolomay - Hunter does spew, but only every couple of feeds, sometime more than others! I am going to ask the nurse what is considered normal when I go on Monday as I am not sure. I will try the phonebook Traylee to see if that helps! 7 hours - I am jealous!!! LOL
-
caplaylolmay - Sorry if I seem ignorant, but what is a PPH? I had a natural labour of 1hour and 40mins. We were lucky to get to hospital, as the cord was wrapped around E's neck, twice! No time for drugs.....the worst part were the afterbirth pains! Worse with each child! lol How lucky are you to get 7 hours sleep! The most I get is 4 to 4.5 hours! But sometimes if I put his dummy in, I can get an extra 20 minutes...lol He's pretty good like that....What is your bubs name?
Phoenix76 - E just loves his dummy. He doesn't always have it, but generaly it helps when he is unsettled. I wanted to not have the dummy this time, as Cooper still is attached to his, and he is 3 in July, so hoping to get rid of it soon....and the nappies too..altho winter is a bit horrible and cold for training, but I know he can do it, he doesn't have accidents at daycare, he just gets lazy at home.
I have been feeling great today, got so much house work done, even the vacuuming, and washing, but alas, I haven't had a sleep...lol Oh well early to bed for me! (if i can)
-
Caplaylolmay - Hi and welcome! Hope you enjoy our group! Are you planning any more bubbies or is 4 it?
Phoenix - With the nipple shields I had no trouble, but sometimes she chokes just normally - apparently sometimes our letdown is too fast for them. Could this be it?
Traylee - Thats good weight gain! Glad she is settling better for you too.
Sorry, I have forgotten what everyone else has said. P is beginning to not want to sleep in the day. Only in my arms and not for long. I have been persistent in putting her down but eventually hold her just so she has some sleep. I'm not sure what to do? I am hoping it is just a growth spurt or something and she will settle again soon. I had photos of the girls taken today. Very happy with them but don't get them until the 17th. One is for P's twinkle toes so can't wait to get that! I also got my first smile today. It wasn't a fantastic one but it was one!
Must go, she is awake again!

marnikat, scarlet is same threw the day, doesnt sleep alot i asked nurse about it today she said thats fine they r just taking in the world, i notice its mostly avos she wont sleep, mornings arent to bad though.

Sleepy PPh is a post partum heamorige and very scary i had heard about it happening to people but never thought it would happen to me i was fine after the birth i had really bad after birth pains well what i thought were after birth pains but they were alot worse then what i could remember with last DD but just thought the pain was worse cause it was my 4th child i was just sitting up in bed and then all of a sudden it was like someone turned on a tap down there and when i looked down OMG blood and lots of it i think i neally fainted at that stage couldnt beleive my eyes as to how much there was i finally got hold of the buzzer and just started buzzing very quickly.
We called our little girl May after DP mother who passed the start of this year her middle name was May so when we found out it was a girl she was automatically called May in memory of her.
You were lucky to make the hostpital it is scary when they have the cord round there neck my first DD and DS both had cords round there necks DS wasnt breathing when he was born cause of the cord.
How many children do you all have??
Marni No no more for us 4 is plenty enough although i miss being pregnant already wish i had of taken the time to enjoy the last weeks abit more but at that time couldnt wait for her to out.
TraleeShe isnt spewing up alot at the moment but i remember with my first DD and my last DD they started out like this and then they turned into real projectile vomiters after awhile hoping that isnt the case this time round DD1 left stains all over the carpet.
Yes i am so happy about the 7hrs last night but things can soon change so lets see what tonight brings
DD3 17 months is teething bad so could be up with her all night (hopefully not)
Takecare all and hope everyone gets some kind of sleep tonight

Evening ladies,
I got back from SYD tonight. Haven't caught up on everyone yet but I see we have a new person. :hello: and :welcome: caplaylolmay and congrats on the birth of bubby #4.
Thank you all for you messages. It was good being with my family at such a horrible time. The funeral was yesterday which was a lot better than I had expected. On the bright side, it was good to see some family I haven't seen in years, shame it wasn't the best of circumstances for their visit.
As for my girls, they are great! H was soooo good during the funeral, didn't make a sound, but wanted feeding the moment we got to the burial. That wasn't a problem at all, got her on the boob, but she was so hungry, she fed so loudly everyone heard her!!! hehehe Everyone thought she was gorgeous so she got past around like a pass the parcel! T was really well behaved too. Thankfully MIL came down for the day to help out with her, kept her occupied through the service, took her shopping through the burial (as it was pouring down with rain) then helped out at the wake. I was so greatful to have her help and support.
Anyways ladies time to cuddle up with my gorgeous hubby.
Have a great night all.
PS I can't believe my baby is 4 weeks old already!!! Where has the time gone?! I wish I could stop time, it's going too fast... She doesn't look like a new born anymore!
-
scarlet slept well again kind of, had feed at 6.30pm, woke at 1, 4 and then 6.30 and fed at 7am, so pretty good
-
I forgot to tell you all, Hadley is smiling at us now!! She smiled at DH just after we were told of my GD's passing (although I am sure I got a smile a few nights prior but it was followed by a big spew so thought it may have been wind), since then she has given us definate smiles everyday!! Just loving them! I will charge my camera today and take a pic, its just beautiful!
-
well morning all, tmi i no, but we dtd last night wasnt as painful as i thought it would lol but all i could think about was my belly splitting open or somethng lol,
my belly wasnt sore but my privates are a bit which is weird considering i didnt have vb.
i swear i remeber sex as better lol but i guess my mind was focused on other things, but was still good but not great great lol.
condoms suck so much they r horrid things, but becuase im not allowed on any birth control i have no choice but to use them (im not allowed on birth control due to my family histroy of blood clotting disorders and apperntly im at high risk for it), which i only found out like 3yrs ago due to my aunt having many miscarriages and one still born.
so i dont no what else there is out there that doesnt contain the same hormones and stuff as depo, and the pill and the rest of them cause they all contain it
hubby doesnt want me on any of them anyways due to them messing with my body and crap anyways and he wants one more eventually
anyways how is eveyrone else, and bubs its a cold morning here in hervey bay
-
Morning all
Tralee I am always terrified of sex after giving birth this time i will be worse due to having the heamorige and all condoms yes horrid things we will have to use them till september as thats the earliest DP can get to see a surgeon for his snip i have tryed every contreception and none has worked for me i have fallen pregnant last 2 times while on the pill and we are happy with the 4 we have so going for the permenent approach this time.
May slept 7 hrs last night again i really cant believe she is sleeping that long already although since we have been up and down very unsettled this morning but thats ok i dont mind when she sleeps that long at night.
What are everyones plans for today? me nothing much think my dad may be coming he hasnt seen may yet or our new house as he has been having radio therapy for prostate cancer and been away so cant wait to see him.
I have oldest DD in plaster due to falling off monkey bars at school it never seems to end here
anyway gotta run May crying BBL takecare
-
your lucky she sleeps so long, scarlet didnt sleep much yesterday at all was awake most of the day, im not sure on how she slept last night as troy had her in his room, but he bought her into me at 5.30am lol,
yea to condoms sucks, but we have to buy the non latex ones to so they rnt even fun to use cause they dont come in like cool ones like the rough riders and stuff, i would like to try out some cool ones, but i wouldnt even no if they were good as we have never bothered to use any before lol its only now we have to, cant afford to get pregnant again right now this close to my csection date lol (well 4 weeks) would like to wait at least 6 months before i care about condoms, even then though im stll not sure if i want another yet, i think about it, but i dunno lol

grrrrr
hi all! will do proper post tomorow, had done full post this morn but internet dropped out as i posted :wall:
hi to our newbie :D
-
Hi all. We had a good night, up until the 4am feed. E decided to projectile vomit all over my back and bed and was unsettled for quite a while. He hasn't vomited since which is good tho. I ate a bit of junk yesterday, so was thinking that maybe that had something to do with it. I'm finding it really hard to stop eating chocolate at the moment. It's just I don't getuch of a chance to eat properly with feeding and a 3 year old. It's just easy to grab whatever is in the fridge. Doesn't help with the weight issue either.
I think I might try and put E in his bed tonight. DH is complaining there isn't enough room in the bed lol. I'm just worried he might not settle properly or maybe he'll be too cold.
Is anyone using the washable breast pads? If so, how are you finding them? I think they don't really work, and I won't wear them outside the house. The milk goes right thru them :(
Ok big hello to everyone...hope you're all coping and getting enough sleep.....
-
Sleepy - I use washable breast pads. I love them. I have the 'princess di' ones by maz, no leaking at all and I have quite a bit of milk. P sleeps in her bed for at least some of the night. I just wrap her and she has flannelette sheets and two blankets.
Traylee - Well done for the sex, I would like to but am still bleeding a little.
Wow to all the ladies getting 7 hour sleeps! I get four at the most, normally only 3-3 1/2. She normally settles pretty well at night though so it isn't so bad!
Tiff - Aren't the smiles gorgeous?! Ours are still pretty random though.
Hi to everyone else! Hope you are all travelling well with your bubs. P is now 4.8kgs, so growing well!
