-
Traylee - I don't think I could wait a week to bath E. He gets smelly from spew, sweat and his bum needs fresh water every now and then too. Every second day is good tho. My DH has thought about setting up a single bed in C's room for him. Just incase it gets too hard to sleep in here. But I said it won't be long til E is in there anyway.
-
yea good idea to the bed, i wanted soemthign in her room when i put her in there so i can feed her in there change her on change table and putback to bed, cause atm cause she is where ever we are we change ehr when she is just stick a towel under bum lol, she has a habit of peeing eveyrtime i take off nappy lol this morning though it was all over my bed lol didnt use the towel oops lol, its so hard to wash her cause she hates the bath and its so bloody cold lol i think this morning ill try bath in the laundry sick it miht be easier, or put her in a bath with hayley for 2mins while i wipe her over and clean her, i spose maybe the more i bath her the more she may like it,
-
I take E in the shower too, it's just easier. Especially when DH helps me. If I really need to I put the change table in the bathroom and lie him on there with just his nappy on until I'm ready to wash him. I have only given him a bath twice. It's hard to wash him tho, it's very slippery, but with a wash cloth it's not so bad. I just usually give him boobie to calm him. He is getting used to it now.
-
good idea, its to cold here for that though she screams wen clothes come off lol
-
Bathing - Zen loves the bath (now). He screamed the first couple of times but now I make sure I have absolutely everything ready and the water a great temp and I do it near the fire so its warm when he gets out. I find he settles really well after the bath. To wash him in the shower would require DH help as currently our shower and toilet block is about 30m from our home :( I cant just wheel the change table up with me lol
Nookie - we had a little go at it last night but I wasnt feeling all that comfy and just when I did 'get into the swing of things' Zen woke for a feed lol...oh well, I told DH we will wait one more week to make sure everything is settled properly. Poor man. He has been wanting 'proper' nookie since I was pregnant (we had very gentle nookie the whole time cause of our history with pregnancies)
Sleeping - Mr Z is outside with me at the moment soaking up the sunshine. Today seems a better day - no screaming so far :) he is possibly due for a feed so I expect him to start any time now.
Birthday - thanks for the birthday wishes :) I had a day with Zen screaming which wasnt fun.DH brother came out for a while which was nice and I had plenty of FB, email and texts to wish me a good day.. DH bought me a laminator (i wanted one!) and I spent an hour laminating our photos etc to put up on the walls, cheaper alternative to frames.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend xo

Morning all,
Qu about bleeding, if you don't mind - If this is TMI for you to answer I completely understand! Are you still having bright red blood or settled down to the browish or yellowish blood for you now??? I only ask as I don't really remember from DD#1 and with the 'retained product' I was bleeding a lot more in the beginning, but only as more was coming away, so the flow would slow down, then pick up again ever few days when more was coming away. I am still having days that is a light flow of old blood, then getting my days that have bright red blood, so I just want to know if its normal or if it is likely that I still have product in there (which will mean a D&C after my 6 week check). I was having a lot of cramping in the early days when more was coming away, but not having that anymore... I just want to have some idea what is happening in there!!!
Ok... Going to run, H is fast asleep in bed and T is playing happily, perfect time for a nice relaxing shower!!!
have a great day all
-
mine was on and off for for the first 3 weeks, stop start from light to thicker and so forth, i had a few clots drop oiff in toilet and thought on need a pad then nothing would come on it lol
i think its different with eveyrone, as with hayley i bled for 6 weeks i think, well close to that mark
-
Afternoon all.
Tiff- i have also been wondering about the bleeding i had the PPH after birth and then i have had hardly any bleeding at all some days nothing but what you are describing is the same for me aswell i had nothing but old brownish blood not much just abit here and there then yesterday it turned bright red blood again it has got me baffled as i havent had this with any of the others after birth last time i didnt really bleed just lightly for a couple of weeks i was also hoping there is nothing left in there i havent had any cramping or anything though but when i see the bright red blood again it scares me cause of the heamorige i had.
Bathing- we bath May every second day as she is the same gets abit smelly of spew and all she loves the bath now first couple she didnt but is happy to lie back and relax in the water now.
we are the same tina we have the open fire so i do it all on the kitchen table right near the fire our shower is way out in the cold part of the house.
Tralee- May is the same everytime we take the nappy off she pees you can bet every time she will do it then i have to change everything no wonder i have so much washing.
AFM- Still travelling quite smoothly here May seems to be getting abit more wind now then usual but abit of infants friends seems to do the trick unless it is really bad.
I am having a quite weekend at home rainging here so good day to be indoors.
:hello: to everyone else
takecare

Oh ok, good, glad I'm normal!!! I really don't want a D&C!
Bathing - We too bath every 2nd-3rd day. We generally have only gone the extra day due to being so busy (with going back and fourth to SYD and everything we did down there etc). H is a bit of a spewer so gets that spewy smell too!
I have finally written my birth story too if anyone wants to read... Its long so I completely understnad if you don't have the time or want to read it! Just thought I'd let you know! :)

I just posted my professional preg pics on FB if anyone is interested.
Also updated H and T's pics on there.

Hi all. Just sitting here watching Happy Feet, trying to get E to sleep. He is not settling very well tonight. But I'm nit feeling well either. I have a temp, it went up to 37.7 earlier. I have to take some panadol with codeine to help. My muscles are aching, got a headache and it feels like the flu, which is what it felt like last time with Cooper, when I had masstitis. So tomorrow I've got to get more panadol, and then go to the Dr on Monday. I just hope it's from lack of sleep but somehow I doubt it. I haven't exactly been taking care of myself in the food sense. I haven't been eating healthy :( it's very hard to do that. I have also been having sharp pains down my right boob. So hopefully with plenty of rest and water I won't need to go to the Dr, but we'll see what tomorrow brings.
Speaking of boobs, for all those breast feeding, is anyone noticing that one boob is bigger than the other? I noticed it, but not sure if I'm the only one...I don't know if DH has noticed, but it's really annoying. Lol
I really need to have a shower and try and express both sides and see how that goes too. I've heard that cabbage leaves help, but I think that's just to soothe sore swollen boobies, not for medicinal purposes. Lol.
Ok well nite nite mummies and hope sleep is nice to us tonight! Xox

Tiff - I added you on facebook! :-)
Sleepy - hope you are feeling better soon, doesnt sound nice! Hopefully E settles for you - would be aweful feeling ill and having an unsettled bub!
Tina - hopefully little Zen was more settled for you today.
Baths while I remember - I must be the only one who baths bub everyday, is that bad? Except fridays as we have family dinner and there is not enough time LOL! H loves his bath and it is part of his daily routine, he loves his bath and massage (mostly done by daddy upon his return from work). Although he is nearly out of the baby bath already - he hits hit head when he kicks his legs against the end of the bath! H hates being cold so we purchased one of those cheap heaters and turn it on in bubs room while the bath is being run...by the time bub gets undressed the room has warmed up and bub is more comfortable and also applies after bath when he is getting massaged, once dressed the heater gets turned off.
DTD - I am keen, still have some brown ickies but it is only a tiny bit on a pad some of the time, maybe next week! I am feeling the urge and have no pain so I guess why not - DP will think all his christmases have come at once LOL!
Does anyone else have issues with (TMI) number 1 leaks! I am doing my exercises but they dont seem to be working LOL
-
Baths - We bath every day here as well. Sometimes twice. But usually she is just taken in the shower with one of us. P seems to prefer the shower to the bath, loves the water running over her!
Bleeding - I am still off and on. It was pretty much gone last week and yesterday started up quite heavy and red again? I don't know whats going on but I wish it would stop.
SSM - Sorry I cant help with the leaking. I had it a couple of times in the first few days but that is all.
-
troy said scarlet getting better on nights with sleeping lol so thats good,
during the day she only seems happy sleeping in the bouncer lol its old style one with mesh to so i let her. annoys me a bit at times i wanted her to like it like her big sister liked hers lol but she hated it at first but now its like the only place she will sleep during the day lol.
i have music on now doesnt seem to bother her either so thats good usually the tv is on lol
she is having 120mls now to finally so that will make clinic nurse happy
-
hi all
sleepy - hope you manage to clear the blockage, I had recurrent mastitis with A and it wasn't fun. Antibiotics 4 times, and finally got put onto ultrasound therapy when she was 8 months, never had a problem after a few sessions of that. Hopefully it won't get to that for you, but keep it in mind as I'd explored so many avenues (even had visual ultrasounds to check for reasons for constant blockage) then the clinic nurse mentioned she'd read a recent article about u/s therapy and it was the solution for me. I fed A happily after that till she weaned at 14 months. Sorry to digress! Don't think the cabbage leaves do anything for blockage, just help with engorgement. Oh and my right boob was bigger than left the entire time I was bf A, then they went back to the same when I stopped feeding. Now the same is happening. I guess my right either makes more milk than the left or isn't as good at draining. I used to think it was how A sucked but obviously it's me!
Baths - we bath or shower everyday too. It's part of A's bedtime routine so we started it with E from day 1. Hopefully she'll figure out that it means bed :) Last 2 nights we've only had 1 feed in between 8pm and 6:30am so maybe it's working!
Still bleeding very slightly but almost stopped I think. Fingers crossed! It's weird because I only had 2 cycles in between having A and getting pregnant with E, as A weaning happened about the same time as I fell pregnant. I'm not used to buying pads!
Settling - I'm having a bit of trouble settling E without using the hugabub or walking in the pram. She doesn't just drift off if I put her down drowsy but awake like all the books suggest lol. I know they're all different, and A needed teaching to self settle fairly harshly as she was a VERY awake baby, but any suggestions of things that work for you would be great!
Hope you're all having a good w/e.
-
lol im same, scarlet wont go down anymore droswy, i try i even try dummy but no wont have it, has to be in her bouncer or us holding her, but mostly bouncer she is happpy with now, on a night she isnt bad for troy he said, she has her bottle and goes back in ok, but maybe she knows day time is different already im not sure lol
she slept from 4.30 till really late last night, i went to bed 8.30 and she still wasnt awake, troy said it was really late, i walked past room at 1 and he was watchign tv and had the bottle behind him empty, then i heard once more in between then she woke at 6,
so not to bad he said

Hey, love the idea of replying in topics!
DTD - I wouldn't mind, but am still bleeding, not to mention tired! DH seems keen though...
Contraception - We don't want condoms so I think it'll be the mini-pill. Will have to speak to the ob about my endo though, because before we were ttc I was taking the pill full time (no period) for 5 years. They say preg is a great treatment for endo, but I don't want it coming back!
Baths - We bath every day as part of B's bedtime routine: feed, bath, massage, cuddles, bed. He settles really well afterwards and most of the time for longer - we've had 5.5hrs the last couple of days! He hated them at first, but really likes them now and looks so relaxed. DH and I always bath together and it's my fave time of day. We want to take him in the shower one day soon though... Oh, and we have ducted air con/heating so always turn that on before bath time so it's nice and warm in his room, otherwise he shivers when we take his clothes off!
Sleepy - Hope you don't have mastitis, it sounds very unpleasant from what I've heard.
Tina - Happy Birthday!!
traylee - B loves noise! He's slept through heavy traffic, vaccuum, mower and whipper snipper as well as TV, phones ringing and shopping centre crowds! That's gotta be a good thing!
pmccask - I wish I had some secrets for settling! I've just handed B off to DH to settle as he's been very unsettled all day. He hasn't slept for longer than 10 minutes (though we're up to 15 now so he might finally have tired himself out!) and is feeding every two hours, then crying/grizzing non-stop, even if he's being held! If he's really upset, a dummy stops the really loud cries, but won't put him to sleep. Sometimes he'll go to sleep from drowsy; sometimes he feeds to sleep; sometimes he will self-settle from wide awake; sometimes he'll fall asleep only if he's being cuddled and sometimes he'll sleep if he's in the pram! The midwife said to remember the "5 S's" - swaddling, sucking (your finger, a dummy or boob), side hold (lying flat against your body with your arm along his back), swaying (or rocking or in a pram) and shhhhhing (slow and loud enough to be heard above their grizzles/screams). Hope that helps!
Question - Tell me about the drops etc that you guys are using - Infacol, gripe water, Infants Friend etc. Do they work? What's in them?
AFM - As I said above, B is unsettled today, but yesterday was an angel. I went shopping and he slept for 6 hours in the pram, with 10 or so minutes awake and crying while I changed him - he even slept while he fed!
