My son Elliott James was born at 1.55pm Monday the 16th. So he's a full week old today! He was due on the 11th but things didn't go to plan. Never mind, here he is and I can't wait to talk to other new parents. I'm already Googling a million things a day about my baby!!
Hi my November Due Date BB Girls - well I'm finally posting - a huge apologies if it's a selfish post as I haven't had time to read the myriad of posts since I've been in hospital!
BTW so funny, we realised last night the paedatrician worked out the pounds conversion wrong, Amelia was 7 pound 12 ounces not 7 pound 1 ounce, still, not the 9 pound the OB was predicting! ha ha
AFM - will post more on the weekend when I get to go home, bit hectic and knackered right now. Briefly though, went in on Monday when contractions went from 15 mins apart to 2 minutes apart within 30 minutes, had my waters broken at 5.00 pm as had only dialated to 4 cms, OB came back at 9.00 pm expecting me to be 8 cms and was only 5 cms. I had a fever and the bubs heart rate was too high so he decided to do a c/s. Turns out to be the best decision as he discovered I had an infection in my uterus.....weird as it usually occurs when the waters have broken and been left for too long. Still waiting on the results for that but luckily it didn't affect the bub, but if we had've waited and gone natural it would've! I was disappointed to not experience the vaginal birth but what can you do. Also the recovery sux, it's really sore and painful and I couldn't even get out of bed until yesterday as I had a catheter in but I'm getting there. My daughter is beautiful and healthy and that's the main thing.
Anyway, breakie is here and coming off the 3rd night horrors with my milk coming in and giving her a tummy ache (normally she's feeding every 4 hours and sleeping in between!). Will post more on the weekend.
Love to you all and catch up on personals very soon I promise. xx
Hi everyone! Jasmine Kayla was born on 21st November (edd was 6th Nov). She was born at home after 3.5 hour labour (lots of prelabour on the Friday though!). Birth was amazing! Very intense and painful but am in awe of the work my body did! My perineum was intact but I ended up with a few grazes and a tear at the front which were really sore for the first week - peeing was awful. Thankfully it seems to be healing now and I can pee again without stinging!
We've had breastfeeding challenges the past week - bad attachment led to cracked nipples and painful feeds until we realised yesterday I was needing to get more boob in her mouth, and last 24 hours have been a LOT better thank goodness.
Otherwise we've been going really well. She sleeps great even at night and loves having a bath with me in our corner bath. DH is back at work this week but I've been coping ok. We did a few short car trips last week to the Drs and to a parenting group gathering at my midwifes house, but I haven't been game enough to go out with her by myself yet - once I get my confidence back with feeds I guess I will feel ready!
Looking forward to getting to know everyone better! xxx

i ladies hope everyone is well...i had a great night, serenity went to bed at 9 woke at 3:45 and then at 7:30, unfortunatly the other 3 kiddies woke up at 6am grrrr im glad i think the yuck from her needles has worn off..and shes awake during the day heaps now
Hi Turtlejane - wow your little one wasn't in a hurry to make the due date but certainly didn't keep you waiting in birth, good one!
I had an emergency c/s last Monday night after my temp raised and bubs heart rate increased, was disappointing but had to be done.
Hi Mon - wow can you send vibes of Serenity's sleeping at night to me, I had a terrible night last night, she's sleeping peacefully now though and does during the day, just have to carry it over to the evening.
The nurse came out this morning and took out my stitches and gave me some advice on getting her to sleep. I have plenty of milk (she's put on 60 grams in 2 days since coming home) but I need to make sure she fills up instead of only have 15 minutes otherwise it's making her hungry at night. If I can get the 4 hours between feeds during the day into the night I'll be stoked!
I probably should be sleeping now while she is I guess!
Oh yeah hi turtlejane my lil princess was born by emerg csec after I was 7cm in 10 odd min but her foot came down at 32+3 talk about a bummer lol
Alison vibes are on there way lol I try to keep her awake alil during the day even if its a lil so she works put the difference, might not be for everyone but her needles did stuff her around
