Just a quick question... any ones babes starting to pull their clothes off? Rebecca has worked out that she wants her pants off... am thinking we might be in for some fun!
Mel, yep Lara has been doing that for about 2mths now and sometimes it drives me nuts. I've still got Cadence in her maxi rider and Lara and Lexie are in convertable car seats, 0 - 4yrs but I am thinking once I turn Lexie's seat forward facing its going to be very squashy so I might have to put Lara in a booster seat, I'd love to get her a maxi rider too but another one wont fit so I will have to look for a slim line one.
Guess what, Lexie has started sleeping through the night. Going to sleep around 10pm and waking around 5:30am - 6am. This morning it was 6.20am so I am very, very happy about that.
Gotta go, Lexie is crying.
Leigh thats great Lexie is sleeping through. You must feel great. Reassuring to hear about the taking off clothes. Today Bec was in the toilet with me and when I had finished she had said my turn and started putting at her pants!
Looks like Bec has oral thrush. She woke up this morning and just inside her lips was all white. I though she was a bit dry from her sleep but it hasnt washed away and on closer inspection its on her tongue too. So I have started applying dactarin oral gel. If its not better by Monday then I'll take her to the gp. Might go get some kids pro biotics too.
Hope all is well
Hi girls,
Im typing one handed while feeding Lexie so please excuse any mistakes.
Mel, how is Bec's thrush? Has it cleared up? How is she going in her bed? I have to take Lexie for her hip scan tomorrow & I am quite nervous about it. Did you have any idea Olivia had hip dysplasia before she was diagnosed with it? Were there any signs etc?
Kate, how is your pregnancy going? How many wks are you now? Have you had a dating scan?
Hi to everyone else, hope you're all well.
Hey Leigh
We knew Olivia had hip dysplasia on day 2 of her outside life! She had an audable click of her hips and they were loose and she also had positional talipies (her feet turned in... a good sign). When you go to your helth nurse they usually do a hip check early on and see if they can feel a click. Am sure she will be fine.
Bec is getting there with her bed. She is dropping her day sleep because she can get out of bed and play up, so now I just let her have quiet time infront of the tv and if she sleeps she sleeps. Makes night sleeping easier!!! Her thrush cleared up nice and quick with some oral gel.
Good luck today... hopefully its all just routine. If not come back and ask away. Olivia is a happy crazy 3 year old who can do a load of physical stuff. I wouldnt have been able to tell that she was harnessed for all those months:)
Thanks for the info Mel. When the paed checked her a day or two after she was born he could hear a click, but we've seen our gp a few times since she's been born & she's checked her hips on each visit & she said she couldn't hear any clicking, so fingers crossed she is ok.
I've still got Lara in her cot. There is still no way she's ready for a bed. She tosses & turns & sleeps every which way in her cot.
Mel, Lexie's hip scan went well, the sonographer said they looked fine. I am so relieved.
Great news:) Just what you need to hear! I cant believe she is 6 weeks already..... hows your scar healing?
Hi girls,
It's been quiet in here, hope you're all well. Everyone has been sick in our house with a cold. It really knocked DH around & I took Lexie to the dr yesterday. I think I'm about to get it again too coz i've got a really sore throat & runny nose. Think coz DH & I are run down we keep getting sick. Other than that we're all doing really well. Lexie is 8wks already, it's going so quickly.
How are all your pregnancies going? How far along are you now Kate?
Gotta go & have a shower while I have a spare 5min. Oh bloody AF has arrived back already too. I didn't get her back til after I'd finished breastfeeding DD1 soni wasn't expecting it this quick. Annoying after not getting it for mths.
HEy Leigh.. been busy here too. Hope everyone gets better soon.
Pregnancy going well. Baby is breechat 31 weeks so just doing some exercises to help flip her. No doubt she will turn soon. We have had a bit of a scar with Becca. We found lumps in her neck which didnt respond to antibiotics, so she went for a scan and thankfully all came back normal.
Better go.... will catch up when I have some me time!
Hey girls... just having a chat to myself!!! Hope all is well.
Becca is not too well, shes congested and has a cough, but this morning when she threw her whole fist in her mouth, she let me have a feel and she has got 3 back molars through..... which means.. 1 more tooth left and she has a whole mouthful!!! OH yay!
I am getting sick too. My throat is sore and my nose is a bit snotty. Not getting much sleep because of becca, but also I just have trouble sleeping these days. Bubs is still breech, so shes kicking my cervix which is uncomfy.
Hey girls, Leigh - hope your household is all better now, amazing Lexie is 8 weeks already, how quickly time goes. Mel - how are you doing, I can't believe your 31 weeks, hope your feeling better soon and your sleeping improves, it sucks doesn't it and I bet you are so uncomfortable in bed too.
Us here, we are well, sooooo sick of winter, I hate having the kids inside all the time with all this rain we are having. So I am 14 weeks today, next Saturday is Rylee's 4th birthday - we are having a fairy birthday for her with 16 little girls, then the following week, I go for my amnio as I had an increased risk of downs syndrome so crossing my fingers for that. Apart from that, nothing else really to report, thankfully the kids have been pretty well this winter and me too, just that yucky nauseous feeling every now and then.

Hi Ladies,
I was hoping I could join in this baby buddies group.
My DD, Jody, was born early Nov '08 but I can't find a group for then. She's a bit behind her age group anyway, she likes to take her time learning new things ;)
We are from NZ and still learning how the Aussie medical systems work over here so will be asking a few questions...
Anyway, I hope I am allowed to join in this group, if the rules aren't too strict ;)
Thank you :D
Welcome Chickoin.... ask away! Where abouts are you living in Australia?
Lauren- I hate the winter too.... driving me insane having to be indoors most of the time. Good luck with your amnio. Make sure you have some help after coz it can be quite uncomfy for a bit after. I had a CVS with Olivia and it hurt a bit after, but not during. Am nearly 33 weeks now!
ok being acostedc
Thanks Mel.
Welcome Chickoin, I am originally from NZ too, moved to Aus in 1994 so you are in good company :)
Thank you for the welcome girls :D
Minimatron, I am south of Perth, it is really nice here, so good not to have a winter like back in nz!
Boo Boo, where are you from originally?
Looks like a few of you are pregnant. DH and I are going to start ttc at the end of the year, I am really nervous about having a baby here, so different from at home! But I feel better now that I can bombard you all with questions about drs, midwives and hospitals hehehe
My DD (Jody) has been having reaccuring ear infections and we are off to see an ENT specialist next month, does anyone know if we pay for this appointment or if children are covered under medicare?
Thanks in advance :D
Ok so I dont remember whats happened in the past 2 weeks. I just wanted to find out how you went Lauren with your amnio? I hope you got some good results. Did you find out gender as well?
Hi everyone else... hope youre well.... am 35 weeks now:)
Hi Ladies..... where is everyone? Just thought I would pop in again and say hi..... Am 36 weeks pregnant and have some serious nesting happening!
How is everyone going?
Wow Mel, 36wks already, your pregnancy has gone so fast. Are you getting excited? What name have you got picked?
I too am wondering how Laurin's amnio went. Hope everything is ok!
Well Lexie is 3mths old tomorrow already, time has gone so quick. I'm still breastfeeding but have introduced a couple of formula bottles a day, basically because Lexie takes forever to breastfeed & also likes to use me as a dummy. Also coz i'm busy with the other two girls I don't have ages to sit & feed sometimes. Can't believe Lara will be two on the 26th of October, that 2yrs has gone fast too.
HI Girls,
Sorry I have been so slack with updating. The amnio results showed no abnormalities, which was fantastic news, so now I am really starting to enjoy the pregnancy and....also, nesting...yes, and I'm only 17 weeks, just getting Finny's room organised as he will need to move from where he is so the new bub can go into his room, so we need to get a bed and chest of drawers. Really want to get him settled him a couple of months before new bub arrives hence nesting :)
Melissa - you are going fantastic, 36 weeks, how great is that, so a few more weeks to go. how are you feeling, are you feeling a bit nervous about 3 - I am :) It will be chaotic. Leigh - Amazing little Lexie is three months, how are you coping with three, have you got any tips for us 'soon to be three' girls? Please share...
Gosh, it really only seems like yesterday we were all pregnant with our 2008 bubs, I still think of Finny as a baby, my 4 year old Rylee seems so grown up now, she will be a huge help. Okay, how is everyone else going, come on back and update us.....
Take care, Mel - have you got a PIG - if not I would love to, but you probably have one from your current belly buddies group. I am so slack I havn't joined my one yet, I think I would be on BB all day if I had three groups happening.
Laurin xxx
Laurin, fantastic news about tha amnio results. Did you find out the sex? I still thought of Lara as my bub too but soon as I had Lexie realised how big she was compared to a tiny baby but I still do see her as my bub as well & when I talk to my mum or someone about both Lexie & Lara I say the two babies. In regards to having three kids, well I was freaking about it while pregnant too. I must admit it is busier & you do have to be organised. I do find it harder to get organised to leave the house with three. Cadence, my DD1 is a great help which I'm sure Rylee will be too, same as Olivia will be for you Mel. Lexie is in a bit of a routine now & sleeps through the night so I'm finding it much easier.
Hey eveyone!
Sorry I have been MIA! Im so knackered come a night time that I read but dont have the energy to post!
Mel - 36 weeks! Not long now!
Leigh - Wow! Lil L is 3 months already!! She is such a sweetie!
Laurin - Im so glad your amnio went well! Excellent news!
As for me Im 15 weeks now (or 14 qccording to the hospital!!) Feeling very sick morning and night! Its very hard feeling like that and looking after a toddler - as you would all know!
Bella is going great guns! She is suck a doll! Im a bit nervouse about having 2 kids! But I guess Ill cope!
Anyway off to bed!
Kate xo
Yay... i got excited when I saw all theses posts!!!
Leigh- wow little Lexie is already 3 months. Where did that time go? Good to hear youre managing well. I am dreading popping 3 in the car. It always takes me forever to get them in so having an extra will be fun!
Lauren- I dont have a P.I.G.... youre more than welcome to do it. I never thought about actually! PM me your number and I will text you:) And I will pop you on my sig. Am glad all went well with the amnio. How exciting that youre organising stuff already. Im sure we both will be fine with 3! Whats your due date and did you find out what flavour your having?
Kate- sorry to hear the ms is still lingering. Gees your pg has gone fast too. Will you be finding out your flavour baby?
Sounds like our 2008 babies are doing well:)
As for me I am feeling great... probably too great! Nesting has kicked in, cooking, cleaning, mowing. We had a mid appointment last night all is well. We got to see the baby again in a super quick scan because they couldnt tell her position. She is deep within my pelvis and well engaged. She is definately a she. we did have a peek last night. I am feeling much better about the idea of having another girl, although i know of 8 people having boys around me and I dont know one other having a girl. Its not phasing me anymore..... I just want to meet my little lady now and see what she looks like. We have decided on Amy Melissa as her name. I dont mind it and I will get used to it. Olivia is the one who is set on it and she constantly talks about Amy! So Amy it is. Olivia is a great help so I think it will be different to when I had becca. Anyway, better run, time for my snooze. I hope we can keep in touch a little more often:)
Kate, good to hear from you. Hopefully your ms goes away soon. That's the one thing I hated about pregnancy. It is hard having it & looking after a toddler at the same time. Your pregnancy is flying by. Glad to hear Bella is doing well too.
Mel, I like the name Amy Melissa. I'm enjoying 3 girls & now that I have the 3 I don't even think about a boy. But we get comments left, right & centre about "wow 3 girls, I can't believe you have 3 girls & that they'll give us trouble when they're teenagers. These comments are mainly from strangers in the street. The waitress at a restaurant said it the other night too. Everyone says you'll have to go back & try for a boy. Well seeing as my tubes are tied that won't be happening, plus our luck we'd get another girl. DH's mates give him a hard time about 3girls calling him barbie balls, purfume nuts etc, but that's guys for you....they never grow up.
Gotta go, I've got both Lara & Lexie up. Sorry if there's any mistakes, i'm on my iPhone & it changes words without me realising sometimes
Melissa - great I am really excited about being your PIG, I will PM my mobile number to you and come up with a beautiful birth announcement for you. I love the name Amy Melissa. One of my friends has four girls, she isn't having anymore, I am sure she gets comments all the time. I seem to have loads of energy too now, though after I did a huge declutter session on Tuesday I am a bit exhausted and then Rylee jumped into bed with me at 6.15 am this morning. I am studying part time too which takes up my evenings. Oooh by the way, we are having a boy.....Rylee wanted a little sister so I think I will have to talk up the benefits of having a boy (we havn't told anyone else IRL). Due date is 26th February....I think our house will be chaos with two little boys racing around as they do, though Finny is really placid (so far). I am also nervous about trying to get out of the house with three - especially as Rylee will be at kinder next year with two mornings of an 8.30 am start - I can see us all heading out the door in our PJ's and banana's in hand.
Kate - really hoping your MS goes away soon and you get a burst of energy...mine lasted till about 13/14 weeks too, so fingers crossed for you. Does Bella still have day sleeps or even just watch a DVD while you rest on the couch to get some energy for the arvo, I always found the after-lunch slump was really hard for me.
Okay, enough blabbing from me, nice to see us all coming back on here, I know I am incredibly slack these days.
Laurin xxx
Laurin, yay a boy, that's exciting news!!! Least with the amnio you know he's definitely a boy, whereas scans can be wrong. Cadence is in prep 5 days a wk & it's hard getting us all out of the house & to school by 9am. I'm lucky the school is only a 5min drive away. She's been late to school a few times just coz Lexie has been feeding or either her or Lara have poo'd just as we're heading out the door lol.
Sorry Laurin.... I keep spelling your name wrong! Doh! Wont happen again!
I understand what you mean when you worry about getting kids to kinder or school late! I have deferred Olivia from 4 yr old kinder next year as she was going to be the youngest and possibly not ready so it gives us one more year and Amy will be older and I wont have to worry about feeds! Congrats on your little man too. Got any names on your list?
Leigh- yep we get those comments too. I need to find a come back. I feel for my dh when people throw that crap in his face. He just wanted 3 kids who are happy and healthy and doesnt mind about gender. It was me who had all the issues but nope.... its poor Adam, he will have to get a man cave..... or whats wrong cant you prduce boy sperm ... it goes on and on! I just want to tell them to f off!
Anyway I think these chicks are getting sick again! Both now have coughs this morning.
Better run.....
Hi All, its quiet again in here. Hope that means you are all well. Just a copy and paste from my other babies thread as I cant be bothered trying to rememeber! A bot tired today!
AFM- well... 37 weeks tomrrow. I am knackered after an horrendis night with Rebecca. She still hasnt had a sleep today so I am super cranky. Olivia has been delightful and is the best at saying a flat out no to most of our requests. She can be super helpful at times though! I fell over at the supermarket yesterday after stepping on a grape and did the splits. Luckily I have woken only with a bruised bum and more than likely pulled leg muscles coz I dont feel too bad! I am sad/angry that it happened coz I was doing so well doing stuff and its slowed me right down. Oh well, time to relax and try and enjoy these last few.....weeks? days? I have been having consistant pre labour pains again just like I had with Rebecca a few weeks before she was born. This time it wakes me around 445am and I have to breath through it! Yay! This morning I felt baby squirming her head down where the pain is... so shes fairly low now. Ok better run... try and get some rest.
Take care all...
Oh Mel, poor you falling over in the supermarket, how painful, not nice at all!!! Did you go early or late with Oliver and Rebecca, I can't remember? 37 weeks, tick tock, tick tock, wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You know all those phone calls will be starting from everyone.....wanting to know if a) you've had the baby b) your at the hospital) c) if your in labour....people are so rude when it comes to bubs gender....you know with all the problems that are out there, isn't it enough to have a healthy baby rather than a particular sex, I probably havn't explained that very well, but you know what I mean. After all the stuff we went through with the downs syndrome risk, that we are having a healthy baby, (that we know of) is enough for us....
Leigh - wow on getting out of the house each day by 9 am, super mum!!!
Okay, better go, I am still in decluttering mode, have probably a trailor load or more of stuff waiting to go to the tip outside. And, now doing up the room that Finn will move into so ordering bed, mattress, drawers, etc, etc and then the fun part of decorating.
Hi to everyone! xxx Laurin
Laurin, I went early with both the girls... Olivia was a week and Rebecca was 10 days... am hoping this one will go early too. So esentially I am thinking I have no more than 2 weeks left and yep already the text messages have come in!
Good on you for de cluttering. I have been in that mod for a bit now. We managed to sort out the office which was a thing on my list for ages! Now I walk in there and I am so happy at how clean and tidy it is and I dont have to whinge about it any more!
I got a bit of a nap today and have been relaxing to rest up my leg from the fall. It just feels like I pulled the muscle in my hamy but nothing too bad. Am so happy that it was just that. Its made me think about having a rest too everyday because soon I will be run off my feet.
Take care chat soon:)
Just thought I would share my belly pics with you all.... nearly there! Who's counting!
37 weeks picture by livbec - Photobucket
Wow Mel, thanks for sharing your photos. You're looking good! Not long to go now. Can't wait for your big news!
You look great Mel!!!
Hi girls,
How's everyone going? Mel not long for you now. Are you all organised? I can't wait to hear how it all goes.
We put Lara in a single bed on Saturday night & so far so good, no climbing out etc but I'm sure she will begin to do it coz DD1 didn't climb out for the first few nights either. Yesterday she didn't have a day sleep though coz she was too busy playing with her toys in her room. The cot is still in her room & today I really wanted her to have a sleep so I put her in the cot for her day sleep but she was back in the bed tonight without a fuss.
Nothing else much happening here. Thought I'd pop in for a quick hello while feeding Lexie.
Hey girls... am still here! 38 weeks today. Am hoping to make it to the weekend as we have dhs bday tomorrow and then his bday dinner on Friday night. After that I am happy to go. although I havent had any niggles/signs recently that would indicate that I am going!!! I was getting cramping for about a week... a week agi but thats all stopped. I feel like I have concrete in my pelvis when I am in bed, its so hard to turn over and am always waking up on my back. Am seeing a lactation consultant today to work out a birth plan.... really hope that I can do it this time, at least for longer than 6 weeks and 3 week! She cost $70 an hour but I said to dh that it will work out cheaper than buying formula if successful... if not oh well!
Hope everyone is doing well. Leigh I hear you on the day sleeps and bed! I only can get bec having a day sleep if I lay with her on the lounge room floor! She sleeps all night but is a pain to get to sleep most nights. Shes just restless. Beccas language has picked up a lot lately and shes doing really well. Shes got a great personality and good sense of humour. Shes a lot less firey than Olivia, although she still throws stuff when shes mad!
Better go, I can see a migraine headache coming on... hope its nothing to do with my swelling! Lots of squigly lines in my vision... off to the mids tonight!
Mel, good luck with the lactation consultant, hope she gives you some good tips. I breastfed Cadence for 3 & a half months and Lara was bottle fed from birth (I had a hard time feeding Cadence which put me off doing it with Lara) then with Lexie I wanted to try breastfeeding again. So far I'm
still breastfeeding but a month ago I started to introduce some bottles of formula. So now I
breastfeed & she has about 2 bottles a day too. Coz Lexie is slow on the boob (sometimes taking an hr to feed) I didn't always have time to sit for that long when I've got the other two girls to look after, that's why I introduced the formula too. You might be lucky & have a quick drinker & bubs feeds might be over with in 5-10mins.
Fingers crossed you hold out til the weekend!
Sorry if there's any mistakes, I'm on my iPhone & it sometimes changes my words without me noticing.
Am still here, the days are dragging! The LC went well and I feel a fair bit more confidant going into this! I have a plan in place and I will see her after I get home. I made up some pressies for the girls from the baby, just lots of crappy stuff ... well not crappy but things like colouring in books and pencils stamps and crayons and some lip gloss and some snack food for when they come and visit! Everything is done so am resting up these days, just have the general day to day stuff to do and thats it!
Hope youre all well. x o
Wow Mel, so close, so close. Great idea on the pressies from the girls, that is such a good one, might have to put it in place for my two. So I am looking forward to that text :)
Leigh, well done on getting Lara into a single bed, I am in the process of setting up Finny's room, so I imagine he will be in his big boy bed probably 6 weeks before my due date - I guess just before Xmas, nervous to how he goes.
Well, I am the worlds grumpiest mummy at the moment - feel dreadful - since Saturday, I lost my voice for a three days, sore throat, head cold, achy, ughhhh, each day I think I am going to wake up feeling better but I don't and can't really take much for it bar panadol, honey & lemon drinks, so everything feels like a major drama to do. Not even sure if I should go to the doctor as I am sure they will just say to rest up, blah blah. Anyway, that is my whinge for the day. Lucky the kids don't seem to have any signs of it yet.
Have a good day peoples :) xxx
Mel, you sound very prepared. I forgot all about a present for my girls from Lexie when she was born. I did that with cadence when Lara was born, cadence thought it was the best thing. I'll be stalking you over the next few wks to see if your princess has been born.
Lara never had a day sleep again yesterday. I put her to bed but she climbed back out & played with her toys for 2hrs. I'm praying her day sleeps don't stop yet.
Anyone started toilet training? I'm sitting Lara on the potty (when I remember) but that's about it. She's not ready yet & I learnt with Cadence not to push it til they're ready. Cadence was done by 2 & a half so it would be nice if Lara was the same but we'll see how she goes. I had more time to train cadence than I do Lara though.
Better go & get Cadence up & ready for school.
Thanks girls.... I thought a nice activity pack would keep them entertained in the hossy and it has a bit of snack food too in it. The girls have got Amy a dolly for a pressie. I have everything packed in my bag.... everything is done! Have been having lower back ache and a bit of period pain but really nothing too strong.
Ahh the day sleep saga! Rebecca has one every now and then because shewont sleep in her bed during the day. Night time at the moment is proving difficult just to get her to sleep. She stuffs around so much now, but once asleep she usually sleeps the night, unlike Miss Olivia who at 3.5 thinks its ok to climb into our bed a few times a night! Oh well! As for TT, as soon as its warm I will take off the nappy and leave the potty outside and she can go for it there. I might start to pop her on it before baths/bed, but thought I would wait til bubs arrives! Dont want to impliment too many changes during this time. Shes been in a bed since July and is don to having 1 bottle at night. Got to get rid of that soon too!
Better run, washing to hang out! Coffee to drink:)
