Arimeh - night settling puts us off having another 'cause we have one parent per child (and I've got the easy one in the big bed - DH goes into DS1's single bed). That and pushing 2 babies out without drugs is enough for me.
I worry I'm rousing on DS1 too much - mind you I got up this morning to find him sitting on the couch with an entire block of Lindt dark chocolate! So i thing he deserved that rousing. That's what happens when DH lets me sleep in. I do try to read a book to him when I'm feeding Mr I, but that only happens a couple of times a week, the rest of the time its 'USE YOUR INSIDE VOICE' - real good example from me!
Ubba: I love my Close Carrier too - I think I sold one to a lady in the shoe shop on Tuesday - I didn't buy any shoes though.
Hi to everyone else!
Mr I seems to have forgotten the needles - I haven't forgotten mine though, my shoulder kills. Mr I slept from about 5pm to 2am yesterday & his nappy was dry until 4:30am - nearly 12 hrs without a pee! When we woke at 4:30 he was still dry and I was concerned and waited for the pee, which was large, but not huge. Hopefully this bodes well for 2 or 3 years time when I want him to sleep without a nappy - DS1 wets his bed about once a week atm.
Hi Girls - I'm hearing you on the sleep Arimeh, not sure what happened to our 5-6 hour nights, they seemed to have gotten lost as we're back to 4 now and it's killing me! I got used to 6 hours grrrrr. Not sure like you if Amelia's going through a 6 week growth spurt and that's why because she too has been sleeping different during the day and eating more sporadically, might have less some feeds and more others. Oh well, what can you do but go with the flow! I have mothers group today and her 6 week check with the health nurse so might see if she has any ideas!
hahaha, thank you ladies! I feel so special to have my own fan club! LOL!
You ladies mean the world to me, i love you all also!
Madame i know exactly what you mean, you me and natty in the back of the classroom - probably a good thing it never happened! haha, don't know how well the poor teachers would have coped. I'm totally keen to visit my bestie in melbourne too, not sure when it'll happen, we have to wait for her to get her own place, atm she's staying at a mates aunty's house (yea, musicians! they'll live anywhere i swear!) But i promise when i head that way i'll seek you out! haha! Would love to meet in person, same with you ubba! We could have our personal little bellybelly meet up!
Thanks for the lovely comments on my kiddies too, i think they're gorgeous aswell! but i may be slightly biased. Seriously, no idea where the olive skin comes from! People often joke to my mum that i'm the milkmans (cause my skin is quite olive aswell, and my sisters is soo pastey white!). I think its going to be the same with Kaili and Theo. Her skin is beautiful and olive, & he is white white - in the sun his hair even has tinges of orange
700grams in two weeks is awesome!! Well done! Must have the "full cream" variety as natty phrases it, hahaha (love it!). 5 minutes on a side sounds dream like! If only theo was like that, he's a sleeper - takes forever because i keep having to wake him! Two weeks off for your DH sounds well deserved! I can only imagine how hard it must be having your own business, holidays would be few and far between. Have fun at the beach, perfect weather for it!
Oh also i know what you mean about the 2.5 hour drive! Yikes! You're brave! We had to go to Townsville (4 hours) for Theo's circ, and i swear... i was on suicide watch afterwards!!! hahaha! (yes i can laugh about it now, but at the time it was no laughing matter!) The 4 hour drive took 7 hours... need i say more?? On the drive home, a portable DVD player, and 4 new Dora DVDs helped us reduce it to 5 hours (i now have a true appreciation for DVDs, haha).
arimeh i know how you feel re the bad sleepers! DD is a nightmare to get to bed! Has been since she was a newborn. for about the first year her bed time was 11:30, and NOTHING i did would change it! My mum thought i was exagerating, then she had to babysit overnight when DD was 8 months and couldn't believe it!! haha, i just laughed and said told ya so. She fights it till the end... even now its like a bomb.. and you have carefully leave without the slightest noise or it'll explode! hehehe. Touch wood, so far Theo has been great *touching wood as i type, haha*
Kymmy my gosh!! he's in crawlers already!! WOW!! Can't wait to see some more pics of him, chubby babies are just the cutest, they make my heart melt! hehe. Im definately keen for another baby too, but i'm not ready just yet! Will probably start trying again near his birthday (as we did with Kaili). How many do you want in your family? Oh and how is your daughter adjusting to archie?? i hope all is well
Natty, i'm glad i'm not the only one putting bub to sleep on their belly. Theo settles sooo well on it. I agree tho, the sensor pads are a must. Just to help ease your mind a little. Also i read that a fan in the room also helps reduce the risk of SIDS, so i've been putting the split system fan on high (but i checked to make sure it didn't affect the sensor pads first, because they can even pick up on fans). I can't believe she is 4.6kg either! Makes me really grasp how tiny all your bubbies were. Theo was 4.5kg born....
I'm so glad your '6 week moment' has arrived, and youre feeling more relaxed with everything Being a mum is tough work - no doubt about it!
Alison - i know what you mean about the work. I never ended up going back for the same thinking your on atm. I thought, i'll go back to work, already be pregnant, work for what... 3 - 4 months?? it just wasn't worth it in my books, missing out on the quality time with DD for a bit of extra cash. I always wanted my kids close together, so now i can't see me going back until we've had all our babies. Even then i think i'll wait until they're in school. DH doesn't want me to go back at all, his mum was a worker, and he grew up in an empty house (she was always working), and he doesn't want that for his kids. Good luck with your decision!
Ubba - sooo glad i'm not the only cranky mummy! ALthough i must say i had a good chuckle at the "stop laughing too loud" That's something i would say! AHh, i need to take some chill pills! Actually today when i was hanging out the washing (wahoo for kaili, outside time!), i actually took the COVER OFF OF THE SAND PIT! OMG!! Poor thing! I know exactly how you feel, i don't want kaili to resent the baby either. But its so hard... When bubs finally asleep the LAST thing you want to do is clean and do jobs, but its the only time - so where do you get the time to also do scrapbooking, play cars, get the playdough out etc. I'm sure we'll get back into the swing of things, we just need time
haha, wow - i really should have just titled this post, "Dear Madame.. " hahaha. Who has the obsession now, huh?
Amelia's 6 week check with the child health nurse went really well. She passed with flying colours She is now 4.5 kgs - almost exactly a kilo heavier than her birth weight, so her weight and head circumference is right in the 50th percentile. She is 57.9 cms in length which puts her in the 90th percentile so definitely a tall girl! DH said, well at least she won't be a short a*se like you and I said yes and luckily her head is small like mine and not massive like yours LOL! He has a big head ha ha....polish genes! That shut him up.
Tomorrow I'm going to call and see if I can get into a mums and bubs aqua class, I miss my aqua class and I desperately want to get rid of some weight, I haven't shifted the last 8 kgs and am now starting to feel depressed. I can't fit into any of my pre pregnancy skirts if they have zips, I can't do them up and I have this gut that makes me look a little pregnant only floppy!!!!!! Who said BF'ing drops the kilos, doesn't for me, unless it's because I'm not producing enough to burn the calories, typical, just my luck!
hey all just found the new thread...been too busy with house work and no comp time anymore....serenity has a yuck nose still and had a crap sleep and i cbf reading through all the long posts sorry...
arimeh the day niesha turned 3 she started getting an attitude for no reason i think it is the age
took all the kids to the shop yesterday by yself and it wasnt that bad we all survived only just lol...couldnt do it without the 3 seater pram someone wouldve died then lol
Telly: I thought i just wanted 3 kids but i'm not so sure now! I'm from a big family (I have 7 sisters and 1 brother) and we all had a great time growing up. My poor DD was an only child for the first 10 years and i don't want Archie to be lonely like she was. He'll always have her but the age gap is so big he'll feel like an only child iykwim? Soooo i dunnnoooo! Maybe 3, maybe 4 or maybe we'll do a brad and angie and adopt one from every country in the world!! I'll just keep my options open..
Brittney is adapting better than i thought she would! She is a real mummy's girl but she doesn't mind sharing me at all... i think if Archie was a girl it might be a different story! She likes being the only girl! She is sooo good with him! She is really maternal, always looking after people's little ones and she loves animals and is generally a really caring girl so she is great with the baby. She helps to put him to sleep, dress him and change his nappy. I'm pretty lucky really! She is a great help!!
AFM: I've had a really sad day today. Brit is really into her ponies. We have three here at the moment, one of which is on lease. He is the only one she can ride cos the other pony is 32 this year and can't be ridden anymore and the third is a big horse. He is the most beautiful pony, an angel.. never puts a foot wrong. We have leased this pony for the last two years (he is worth ALOT of money, not something we could afford right now) and knew he had to go eventually but we got the phone call the other day and he has to go on the 20th of this month... Brit is DEVASTATED to say the least.. She cannot stop crying! She wants to leave home so she doesn't have any reminders of him cos she'll be too sad! It is so horrible.. she is so distraught and there is not a thing i can do about it! And the worst thing is that he is being transported over to Qld so we will probably never see him again.
So i have spent the day consoling a ten year old, a six week old and then promptly bursting into tears myself
Had Archie weighed today and he now weighs 5560g which is great. Can't believe how fast they grow. I'll have to put up some recent pics of him on FB.
Does everyone's babies still have the hard lumps under the nipples? I am worried Archie might have mastitis in his left one cos it seems as though it is getting bigger. The Child health nurse said it did feel a bit larger than what she'd expect so has told me to keep an eye on it.
Is anyone else still bleeding? I thought it had stopped but apparently not!
Sorry for poor me post....
Have a lovely night x x x
Oh Alison that just sucks...crawling my ass lol I'd be like sorry I didn't realise I had a baby for a competion there I was thinking that I had her for love....and maybe they looked at her and just thought she needed more room I'd just cut her off as much as possible cos it only gets worse
Serenity slept 10 hours last night too my friend said something on fb about her dd doing that at 5 weeks do I was like yeah ff babies sleep through faster than bf babies hahaha I did ff her last night though lmao but not gonna say that lol competitive ppl hey
ha ha thanks Mon, you made me laugh, thanks for understanding. I mean, us BB girls talk about these things but it's not competitive, she has that tone that I know means she's comparing and it sh*ts me to tears, she was like with other things before anyway. She's always annoyed me really.......I pick some strange friends I tell you. Might have to keep my distance as much as poss I think.

omg i hate those ppl!
I agree with mon, stear clear - cause they only get worse.
crawling at 1 week, what a load of fn crap!
and i would have snotted her, giving you advice on bfing!!!!! I'm getting angry for you!
big hug
stay away!
Well i just got home from my sisters bday party. and i went 11.5 points over for the day!! yikes! might have to do some exercise tomorrow i think! but the thing is.. it didn't even feel like i was that naughty... i thought i did so well with temptation. but nope, got home and added it together - apparently not! haha.
First off, for those commenting on my saturday night blow out, haha - i think im back on track with my ww. I already had a bonus 4 points saved up. so i was really only over by 6 points. So yesterday i saved another 4 points again, so only 2 points then to work off. So i mowed the lawn - which was a grueling 1.5hours. So i think i'm fine!
Mon - Alison already explained it, but yea it really works. You're allowed so many points a day, im on 28 cause i'm a fatty, and i'm bfing. And each food is worth a certain amount of points. Bread = 1 point. A feed of KFC = 1000000 points, hahaha. soo easy once you get to know what equals what.
How cute with Mally's little sleep over buddy! Can't wait till we're at that stage. Actually yes i can.. don't want her to grow too quickly! haha. How's the school run going? How on earth do you get ther 4 of them organised in the mornings to start the day? you must be a super mum!
Alison your friend is irritating me.. hahahaha! I dont even know the poor woman! I like Ubba's suggestion of 'accidently' losing her number? but then agian if she only lives up the road, avoiding her could become struggle. Perhaps do the occasional visit. but always have an excuse lined up for when you can't tolerate her. be prepared! hehe. RAK'ed = random act of kindness
Natty - your new avy is FAB! Lovin' it! Haha, i chuckled at your DH checking himself out, making sure it was up to scratch! Sounds like someone mine would do too. Glad you guys got everything off your chest, sometimes that what a relationship needs, a good fight, then everything becomes more peaceful. I don't do CC either. Kaili is 2 now, and chris and i still struggle to let her cry! We tried letting her cry herself to sleep a couple of weeks ago. It lasted like.. 1 and a half nights. haha. We're suckers i know. But i wouldn't like to go to bed crying thinking my mum and dad have deserted me, so i don't expect her to. It just becomes an issue when DH is away for the night (which is tonight ) lol
Madame - I hope your holiday went well! Hope you don't have too much washing to catch up on either. I've got washing in the machine atm waiting to be hung out.. but hey while both kids are sleeping - bb time! haha. I'm so lame! And good work on the ww online! We can be ww buddies! haha. I"m so impatient with weight loss. I want to be skinny and hot NOW.. not in 6 months time! Its such a slow process.. but it will be worth it. Good luck for your first week! xx
Ubba good on you with your studies!! How exciting!!! Just think, in 4 years time... you could be a nurse!!! I always regretted doing teaching at uni, thought i should have gone down the nursing path. Teaching is just.. gross. haha. But i think the shift work would put me off the nursing.. i'm so undecided in life! Good luck with it all
Telly i totally agree, they are just babies, plenty of time to cry herself to sleep over some guy, not mummy abandoning her....Good work on the ww and lawn mowing, i am unfortunately banned as i do such a crap job...bummer lol...
Hi Snowy, yep typing with a growing bub is hard hey...i just get a good balancing act but my typing hand gets so sore..congrats on all the new additions! whoa twins lovely but eeek all i can picture is 2 vs and my eyes start to twitch Thanks for the advice I did say to him what have you read and he informed me he had visited Tresillian which is a centre which helps mums out it is a cc based place tho and I was so surprised he did it behind my back but he says i dont listen to him..Everyone has told me to go there in the early days but i never felt i needed to make my babt scream so i could sleep better so there lol...rant over...
Hi Alison, someone bought themselves a membership for a year and gifted me one, its for the bb birthday. I saw them on ppls sigs earlier this year and wondered too..at first i thought it indicated donor sperm or something but there were so many i thought that cant be right heehee. That girl sounds like a pain, next thing her kid will be talking lol. Amelia seems like she is getting a little special treatment too but it takes a nicer person to be modest and gracious then competitive and childish like she is, she should grow up, being a mother now and all...Id ask to see the baby crawl lmao Oh and its normal for them to drop a feed once they are over 5kg apparrently so dont stress.
Mon, hi! i think youd be great in aged care with your supermum skills! Those grannys would be showered and fed and don to the pokies all before 9am just joking but haha you would be great! i love the pics of Serenity she is just beautiful! What are your backgrounds? I love dark skin and prayed v got her dads brown skin instead of my white pasty skin lol,
Ubba oh follow your dream yay! its great that you will be doing your mw course and even better the bridging course is there and free! I wish i had done something a bit more realistic than art as im kind of locked in to a specialty..oh well it brings in the $$..not very challenging tho at times. Yep i supose its good for one thing cos i made my avvy lol, that dollmaker site is not especially user friendly but i got the hang of it
oop gtg but bfore i do that, v is sleeping well, very cute and more fun now she is laughing and interacting better.
Haha, Natty, I'm not usually allowed to mow the lawn, but I surrended to the leg humping earlier that day, so was given permission! hahaha. He just doens't like me doing it because its a 'mans' job. Also the time i mowed before that, was days before i had a m/c - so he is now freaked out about the whole thing. Isn't it just great when they start to laugh?? Music for the soul I gave Theo a rasberry (blowing on his stomach, not an actually rasberry, lol) today and i got the best giggle yet, was kinda a belly laugh iykwim. I just melted. But ofcorse he decided once was enough, and refused to do it again.
Snowy great news on the new additions to the family! I get sooo excited when our family grows. My cousin is due to have her second in a couple of weeks, and i think i'm more excited about it, than what i was when I was pregnant, lol. Twins too! How lovely!
AFM Theo has had a TERRIBLE day. I kid you not he slept for 20 minutes (while i typed my earlier post) and thats it!!! He's finally gone down now. Its 9:00pm. Lets hope he stays that way. I think he had a bad pain in his belly, poor little fella. And on top of that Kaili has also had a bad one. I had a squizz in her mouth and her last 2 year molar is FINALLY cutting through. So she's snotty, and very sooky.
I gave her a bulla frozen yoghurt pop before bed. Was washing up. Theo was in the swing thingo. I hear a kinda cough from theo, and kaili has put the stick from her icecream in his mouth I FREAKED out!! Smacked her bum and sent her to her room. Anyway, called DH (he's outta town), told lhim, and then he blasts me for not watching her?! argh. men.
Oh Telly you poor thing, Theo must be on the roof if he hasnt slept much! Isnt it crap that they get harder to get to sleep the tireder they are... Wow arent husbands helpful with their parenting advice when they are not there to live the circumstance lol....
Totally agree with you on the giggles too, we have had a few really good ones but I cant seem to get a nice smile for the camera. I have a bigg arsed black camera and I think id freaks her out, never mind the blinding flash lol...She always has this 'what the.." look on her face from the preflash flash thingo....
Haha to surrendering to the leg humping, I too have had to give in to the poor dhs whining about his lack of erm..satisfaction....hhhmmm Then Im supposed to just love it when all I really want to do is sleep, or maybe for him to make me a nice cup of tea! I guess its not the same..
Am getting silly with lack of sleep as V had me up uncharacteristically early this morning..geee that was a big word for 1125pm..
oh my gosh where is everyone?
i had to actually go looking for this thread its been so long since the last post. So out of character ladies!
madame i know what you mean about tully in his big bed. i think the same when kaili goes to bed. and occasionally she's mucking around and jumps in the cot for fun, and i think.. naww.. my little girl is so big now... really does fly! And i was/am an over eater too. my portions have always been my problem. if something tastes good i want to eat eat eat. Which is why the whole 'watching what i eat' diet never worked. Because although i was eating healthy, i was eating a lot of it iykwim. 5 kg is a good mini goal! Won't take long. Especially with you bfing! Mine is 10.. when i reach 10 i'm going for a haircut i've decided.
Must be hard baking cakes for your cafe and not being able to sample them.. DH made blueberry muffins with DD this morning and i tell you what... i'm about DIE, the smell is soooo good.
Anyway, i'm gonna try and have a nap. feeling very tired!
xx
