Hi Snowy - hee hee, what's with our bubs having sweaty feet! I was horrified when I realised, I was like, oh no are you going to have stinky sweaty feet, not a good look for a lady lol. Oh yum lamb shanks, did you get that from me hee hee - I had lamb shanks last week, diiiiiiiiiivine! Enjoy!

Hi Madame - ooooooooh that's so exciting that Harper rolled over! :dance: Amelia is so close, today she was really trying, she's getting frustrated cause she just about gets there, I think her arm gets in the way. She must do it at night in her sleep though, maybe she doesn't realise when she's asleep. I've never seen it but can't wait! I've been getting lots of giggles since yesterday so that's her thing for this week. You're right though, it's all happening now and before we know it they'll be in school, so sad!

AFM - I bought Amelia the Bright Starts rocker/swing today, it was on sale at Target for $49 down from $100! The other swing I had MIL bought me originally but it's big and cumbersome and takes up the whole lounge and it doesn't rock all the time when you flick the switch, I think it's a bit of a dud. Anyway, this one matches her bouncy so she likes it, in fact, she's asleep in it now! It was funny as a lady came up to me in the baby clothes section at Target and asked me about my pram, she's pregnant due in July and wanted to buy the same pram so was keen to know what it was like. We ended up chatting for ages, she was so excited after I gave her tips on what to buy, what not to waste money on etc., she was really sweet, I said I was jealous of her lovely little belly and she said she was jealous I had the baby already, ha ha - we were having a laugh. Then her husband came back rolling his eyes saying, is she still chatting to you ha ha - it was funny. I walked away thinking how ironic it was because when I was pregnant I was standing in the exact isle of the same shop wondering what size to buy for a newborn and asking a lady with a pram that had a baby about the same age as Amelia. Life is funny sometimes huh. I also bought a little something for the friend of a girl I met on Saturday who was 27 weeks pregnant, due on the 11th June, 1 day before my bday and unfortunately her placenta came away yesterday and she had to have an emergency c-section, her little girl is alive but in a critical condition, they're not sure if she has brain damage as she was without oxygen for about an hour inside her. It's just sad.....I haven't been able to stop thinking about her so I thought I'd buy a little gift to hopefully cheer her up. Makes me realise that worrying about not breastfeeding anymore is ridiculous in hindsight.

Also, I'm going to see my hairdresser tomorrow, she's got a 5.5 month old but is now working from home yay. I'm so tempted to go a different hair style but I'm so scared to cut my hair off, it took so long to grow...........I just feel like a change now I'm a mum but want it fashionable still. I know me, I'll come out with just a trim as always....can't wait to get it coloured though!

Hey Mon - thanks. 27 weeks is early huh, I pray she's ok poor little thing. Your head probably feels like that because you're so upset, let it all out and just try and think of the good times with your grandad. He'll enjoy seeing Neisha tomorrow, he'll know she's there don't worry. xx

Heavenly I'm so sorry about your grandad. My only surviving nana died about a month ago so I know how hard it is :( I'm just lucky that I got to see her before she (somewhat unexpectedly) died and she got to meet all my kids. My siblings hadn't seen her in about 22 years (same as me) and they never got that chance to introduce their families to her, so I count my blessings that I did get that chance. Had I not moved to Tassie I would not of had it. Enjoy the time you have left with him xxxx

Congrats on all the rolling everyone!!! Not happened here yet, but she can turn herself around and around and can do the "aeroplane" look on her belly and raise her head really high - think trying to roll is too frustrating for her.... haha. Actually its probably my fault cos she sits in her rocker chair a bit much during the day rather than on the floor, but on the floor she is likely to be trampled on by excited kids that aren't watching where their feet are going!!!! I can try and give her more time today though - DS is at daycare so its one less pair of feet to watch ;)

DD2 is doing really well, sleeps through most nights, and is the cheeriest baby ever - even with the reflux!!! I love waking up every morning and turning over and she is there grinning at me!!! Nawwww she's so cute!! She doesn't get much sleep during the day however, mainly due to the other two, but I think we've worked out that she needs to feed every 4 hours, so she usually squashes 2 short sleeps into the 4 hour block. All in all she is a pretty cruisy baby - much like DD1 was :D

Think I've crapped on enough, and DD2 is now awake and DD1 is trying to smother her with a spit rag so I should go and save her. Oh no its ok, DD1 is now playing with the potty.. lol

:DNice one Mel! Gotta love it when the kids play with the potty lol! I remember both my kids used to use the potty and carry it around the house to show everyone then they had to flush it down the toilet aaargghh independance.........:D

Yesterday Ruby had a 1 hour sleep in the morning and a 1 hour sleep in the afternoon. That was it for the day :rolleyes: She wanted to be held all day otherwise she would cry on the floor or in her bassinette or she wanted the boob. Every time I tried to feed her she would be getting angry and pulling off, arching her back (sound familliar Al?) so by the time it got to her bath, book, boob, bed feed she was REALLY frustrated and wouldnt have a proper feed so DH gave her a bottle of formula and she drank the whole thing! I think because I am so tired my milk supply isnt great.
Anyway she decided to wake up at 11, 1.30 and at 4.30 she decided it was wide awake time. I just cant win with this kid.....
Shes been awake now since 8 am and has been rolling around the floor being a happy liitle thing but I'm about to get her organised for a sleep.

I do love her rolling though, clever little thing.

Sarah- YAY! for Harper. On the move now our little girls. Maybe we could meet up and race them..... :p

Al- What a bargain getting the swing for $49! I wonder if the have any in Melbourne, hmmm.

Hi Mel - ha ha love the playing with the potty, hope it was empty at the time :p DD2 sounds like a happy go lucky little girl, I feel the same with Amelia, although she has her moments don't you worry! lol I think she has daddy's laid back personality....am hoping it stays that way! Amelia isn't rolling yet that I've witnessed either but she manages to turn over in her sleep somehow so not sure how that works! :rolleyes: She's almost there, when I put her on the floor she gets so frustrated as she just about gets over and can't, I think her arm might be in the way. She too spends a bit of time in her rocker, only because she gets poopy on the floor if left for too long and also instead of other kids I have 2 dogs, one of which has an obsession with trying to lick her feet!!!

Hi Ubbs - oh dear, yes sounds extremely familiar!!! :doh: Hope she goes back to the boob soon, the health nurse told me they can go through this stage at this age, some go back, some don't........I think like you Amelia just realised that the bottle was a sure thing and the boob was a lot of work for a little milk ha ha. Definitely check out Target, she loves it....she fell asleep in it after her last feed last night and I don't have to sit there and rock it with my foot like the other one!

AFM - DH is home from the block today yayyyyyy! Have missed him, he just phoned and I can tell he's missing Amelia lots, better have missed me too!!!! :shakehead: I'm glad he's home today though, had the weirdest thing last night........about twilight zoney. I heard Amelia stirring at 3.00 am (now I'm right into these ghost hunter dvd's from the US and they say 3.00 am is "dead time", when spirits come out to play so to speak (I can see DH rolling his eyes at this ha ha)....anyway, I went into her room and as I walked through the door the CD player started playing the first song.....I thought I must have left it on repeat but when I looked the repeat button wasn't on! It freaked me out so bad! (I play a soothing CD when I put her to bed). So Amelia went straight back to sleep but me, I was awake for another hour scared out of my wits ha ha!!!!! I told DH this morning who doesn't believe in all that stuff and he laughed and said oh well at least it's a good ghost as it was obviously helping her go back to sleep. ;) Before I got pregnant but was trying I had a lady tell me (I wasn't having a reading, was just talking to her about something general) that a lady called Eve was watching over me....I had no idea who she was talking about, I found out after that my dad's mum (who I hadn't seen in many years as my parents divorced when I was young) name is Evelyn (Eve for short)!!! But I've had other pyschics tell me someone I was named after is my guardian angel - that's my great grandma who died before I was born, her name was Alice Mary and I'm Alison Mary. Anyway, I've rambled on but there's that story and that's why I'm glad DH is home today ha ha!

Well, that rocker is a definite Ubba, I just put Amelia in it and within 2 minutes she's out like a light!

Thanks alot Al, now you've scared the crap out of me.... Im very scared of 'ghosts and spirits'. Im never getting up at 3am again

Ali: That is freaky... Just after my Grandma passed away (3yrs ago) Brit told me that she feels safe now... i asked her why and she said it was because Grandma doesn't let the 'dead people' follow her around anymore.... :o
I asked her about these dead people and she said there is an old man in a suit and a young girl with blonde hair and they follow her around and sit on the end of her bed at night and follow her into the toilets at school and that the man is nice but the girl is unhappy :o
I nearly DIED when she told me this! She doesn't often tell lies either, or when she does tell a porky i can always tell and she definately wasn't lying! Also when she was 2yrs old i picked her up from daycare and she calmly told me that her budgie had died today... when we got home her budgie was dead in the bottom of the cage... it was alive when we left home in the morning :o
AHHHHHH Now i am freaking myself out!!! hahahahaha!

Huggies boxes are on sale at IGA for $29.99... i just bought ten boxes! That should keep me going for a while.. As for the pram, the woman i bought it off is a few cans short of a six pack!! She changed her mind about swapping it and was on the phone with me for about half an hour telling me her whole life story... and long story but she is a crazy woman i tell ya!!! So i'm stuck with the Peg.. I'll sell it myself and buy a MB. I think i have a pram obsession too..... DH thinks i am a bit crazy myself for wanting more than one pram... Am i crazy girls?? How many prams do you all have?! haha!

Stoked - name change too? ;) Whats happening with your dad, I've missed it all! Hope he is going to be ok. Freaky stuff with your girl too - DS is a bit like that, asks us who a man is and there is no one else in the room!!! WEIRD. Its amazing what these kids can sense.
Oh - and I only have one pram - but I have a twin stroller that my aunty gave me yesterday and I also have 3 carriers.. haha

Alison - yes potty was empty - DS is at day care.. LOL

Ubba - Eden isn't sleeping properly at the moment either - she will if I put her in my carrier but then I can't do anything properly and I like having a clean house since its so new.. give me a couple of months and I won't care as much.. haha

Well my grandad is completly brain dead today so I'm so glad I saw him yesterday I just wish he wouldve known niesha visited today , she is abit sad but I told her that we were very special to him and that we made him very happy and gave him lots of smiles, she drew a picture of him and her holding hands that we left there, we held his hand abit gave him a kiss and a hug told him she loved him and we thanked him for being the best grandad ever and that we would always love him and miss him

Hi Kymmy - OMG!!!!! I'm so into that stuff, that's incredible. Brit must be attuned to the spirit world as they say lol. They say kids and animals are moreso because they are more open minded than adults about the whole thing. Does she say they still hang around her? Maybe she is going to be like Jennifer Love Hewitt and her "son" on Ghost Whisperer, my fave show! When my nephew was little he used to talk to a lady in the cupboard in the bathroom - my sister lived in an old house in Vic Park, anyway her kids are 12 months apart and on the morning of the christening for my niece my sister went into her room and she was in her cot, fully dressed in her christening outfit!!!!!! TRUE STORY! How creepy is that. And my nephew was being toilet trained in the potty and came out one day after doing a poo in the toilet and my sister said, how did you get up on the toilet and he said "the lady helped me" - there was no step or anything and there was a poo in the toilet!!! They've since moved and my nephew and niece are 15 and 16, he still remembers though but doesn't like to talk about it now, it's just not cool. lol Re the pram, bummer! The girl I bought my Bumbo from had a red MB, I can give you her email if you want to write and ask if she still has it....it wasn't advertised on Ebay or anything, was just there when I went to pick up the Bumbo and she asked if I was interested ha ha. Best leave the psycho to herself lol. Good luck for your dad, please keep us posted, I really hope he can keep his foot. :pray:

I had a cut and colour today, feel so much nicer, had a little more than usual cut off but wasn't daring to try a new style, I have fine hair and it takes ages to grow so was worried if I cut it too short and hated it I'd be stuck with it!

Hi Girls - update on the little baby born at 27 weeks, she suffered 2 seizures and required a full blood transfusion last night and apparently has just passed away. I don't really know this girl but I sent in a present this morning with my friend and a card before the bubby had died, now I feel worse for giving her things to see as a reminder. I just feel sick for her, life's not fair sometimes.

Oh no alison how terrible. Believe me, she'll appreciate the thought in the future, if not now. I still celebrate my sister's stillborn's birthday and xmas - so try to remember her birthday if you can. The worst thing that can happen is that everyone forgets about the poor little bubbas :(

Yup certainly is unfair. Aricyn was 2 months old when my sister lost Phoebe, and then my brother's wife had their child 3 days later. So our kids would have all been the same age. Very very suckful.

Hi everyone else!

So my friend made me feel like i should be introducing solids to Vs diet and initially I was so pzzed off that she implied V was missing out but I bought some farex for later anyhow....DH and I are pretty much in agreeance to wait until v wants to eat but today I got bored and a bit curious so I made her some with bm and she DEMOLISHED IT!.....
She has been really interested in us eating lately and trying to grab my food lol. Now I dont want to tell my friend I did it because I hate how smug her and her dh will be about it cos they have been there done that and are always giving me unwanted advice...

Is anyones babe starting to put their fist in their mouth, look angry and shake it all about? It looks like she is angry or in pain...Is it too early for teethng?

V is a flipper too I think she is so good at it cos she sleeps on her tummy so wakes up like that so gets lots of tummy time..

Natty - definitely not too early for teething. DD2 has been gnawing on her fist for about 2 months now!! And drooling heaps, so I would say that they are starting to get on the move for our bubbas. Still hurts them if you can't see them cos the teeth move in their gums.

I haven't copped the solids talk from anyone yet - unlike I did with my other two - but I'd just tell them we're waiting till 6 months to do BLS like I did with DD1. She's an awesome eater, unlike DS who was spoon fed from an earlier age. Dunno if its a coincidence or not, but I'd rather have a good eater!

Have DD2 in the sling again today - she just being a little crab apple at the moment!! But I'm trying to enjoy it... she is my last!!

Some of your loved ones / friends are having a rough time at the moment aren’t they?? Not good….my thoughts are with all of them….

Camme – Just got around to reading your birth story – very amusing and I loved it!!! Wish I was able to write something like that!! You did very very well! Your poor hubby though – he copped it!!! I think my DH was lucky that I was unable to talk or pretty much do anything except nearly crush his hand every time a contraction came! Seems like so long ago now...Abbey doesn’t get much floor time either as JD would probably sit on her and I don’t have eyes in the back of my head (though as useful as they would be!) so she’s stuck in her chair for a lot of awake time and she’s slowly starting to hate it now….damn it!

Alison – That poor little baby girl and her parents….I cant imagine how terrible that would be…I hope they get through it OK…so sad and it does make you realize how lucky we are doesn’t it? And all your ghost stories are freaking me out!! You will have put a pic of your new do on FB! Hope you had a nice time at your group this morning…

Heavenly – So sorry about your granddad…old age is a horrible thing….I hope he’s peaceful at least and not in any pain….

Kymmy – I hope the news for your dad was good and he doesn’t have to lose his foot…waiting to hear how he is….I cant believe you bought 10 boxes of nappies!!! That’s hilarious – good deal though so at least you’ll be stocked up for months and months now! I only have 2 prams so I’m not quite as obsessed as you and Alison though if I had the $$$ I would get a new one if I could!

Ubba – How is Ruby going now?? Her and Abbey sound alike with their feeding and sleep issues…..ever since I was away Abbey is refusing my left side and it’s driving me nuts….I think she got so used to getting milk instantly from the bottle that she doesn’t have the patience anymore to wait for it to start flowing from me….I think my left side has a slower let down as well cause she’s fine on my right and that’s always been my better side….I’m slowly giving up I think…she is having more and more bottles every day now. It makes me sad, but I’m going insane at the same time when she pulls off and carries on….A also only slept for about 30 mins this morning then another 20 min nap around lunchtime then is down again now so we’ll see how long it lasts this time…

Natty – I feel bad for Abbey too when we are eating…she stares at us and watches the food go from the plate into our mouths and the poor thing drools and carries on. It’s cruel isn’t it? Abbey will 4 months on Sunday so I don’t know what to do…see how her sleeping goes I guess…she is such a sucker too and always has her fist or washer or whatever she can get her hands on in her mouth. I wish she’d take a dummy, she’d probably like it if she gave it a go…I put my finger in her mouth sometimes and she chews like mad on it but I cant feel any lumps or anything…

AFM – God I was in a mood this morning…I think JD was happy he was off to kindy today for once!!! Abbey has been playing up the last 2 nights and it’s killing me….I didn’t shut my eyes at all last night until nearly 2am and then she was up probably an hour later so I ended up sleeping on the lounge with her attached to me and she still was on and off until she was properly up at around 7am…..I was just completely over everything….the filthy house, the whinging kids, my fatness, the toys everywhere, constantly sterilizing…the list goes on…anything tiny thing would set me off. Anyway, got the housework I wanted done and now I feel a bit better….I had a shower and changed back into my PJ’s and am still in them and plan on being until JD gets home at about 4pm….

I was thinking before how life used to be so relaxing and now I just seem to be in a constant rush and so anxious to get things done….showering, washing up, shopping, driving, hanging out the washing, eating – all in case someone starts losing it and I have to deal with them…I think cause I’m a control freak I have to have it all done and done my way so I cant deal with it when things aren’t in order….even when I’m typing this my heart skips a beat when I hear her cause I’m going to have to run off and leave…I need to get over it don’t I!!!

Anyway, other than my issues and Abbey’s sleeping and feeding issues we are alright. She has been rolling over – only to the right though and get’s the cranks cause she cant get her left arm out...

I’m desperately trying to find a bumbo seat for her but since I’m in the middle of nowhere and most of them on Ebay are pick up only I’m not having much success…a friend said she has one that she can get back of someone so fingers crossed she remembers and I can get it on Monday at Mothers Group…

Sorry for the whine…seems to be all that I do, but other people don’t get it so sorry I unleash it at your girls!! You’re the best!

Good news on my dad too .. Dr is really happy with foot so far and they will not need to amputate!! Woo hoo!

Hi Kymmy - far out that is TALL!!!! lol Amelia is pretty long and she's only 61.5 cms! ha ha, postman, that's funny. And brilliant news re your dad, finally some good news. I got a text from the girl who lost her bubby, apparently she was brain dead and they had to make the decision to turn off the machine, how sad is that. She said that she is numb but is of the belief that her baby had better things to do and better places to go. I feel so sad for her.

hey natty i've got the solids debate going through my head. DD didn't start till 5.5months, and even then she wasn't really fussed, it was just me getting curious to see what she'd be like. But Theo on the other hand.. I kid you not, he is now puts on his fake CRY whenever i start eating something! His hands and feet go crazy, and you can tell he wants want wants :o This morning he was sitting on my lap as i was eating cornflakes, and he wriggled and carried on that much that he eventually got the bowl, and tiped the lot all over us.. And the other night he managed to swipe some of my icecream with his hand (i got it before he put it in his mouth tho). So i dunno... I really want to wait but i don't know how much longer i can. I feel so sorry for the poor little bugger. Got an appointment at the clinic next week for his 4 month health check, so i'll ask the MW about starting early.

kymmy - im so excited to go get theos health check! I think archie and theo are very similar in size. Last time i got him weighed (it was about 3 weeks ago at the chemist), he was 7.49kg. He also seems very long, so we'll see next week exactly the size. Super super glad you've gotten some good news bout your dad too. Bout bloody time you got some! OMG About Brit... Super weird!! But i'm super intrigued... I also love hearing things like that. Nice on the 10 boxes! haha! When they're on sale like that i normally stock up on 3 boxes. Also johnsons wipes are on sale at toys r us too. 18.99 for a 6 pack. (i stock up on them too, they're my fav wipes).

Sometimes i have kids toys going off in the middle of the night too, it creeps me out big time! But then in the morning i examine them and they were lying funny, so it kinda explains it. pretty cool tho! I also love ghost whisperer!

JDsMum - :hug: Big hug to you. I know what you mean. Sometimes its just so frustrating that you can't just DO SOMETHING! Like.. hang out washing. Sounds easy. BUT ITS NOT! I'm totally hear listening to your vent and nodding my head. I get really crabby about those things too, feel sorry for DD some days as she's the only one to take my frustraiton out on :redface: Theo chills out in a purple bumbo (was dds old one), he loves it!

Mel - Welcome back! I'm just about to head to FB to check out your new pics of your gorgeous kids! Hope everything is settling in well and you're loving your new home. Gee i'd love a new home.. i'd be totally like you and become anal about keeping things clean! Hope your DD2 realises that the cot is also a great sleeping place! haha! Telly, yep V looks soo interested at anything that goes in our mouths, she starts smiling and laughing, itlooks like shes trying to charm our food off us. I was just so surprised how she ate the whole tablespoon full, I thought she would have a little bit but not the whole lot...Now I just have to figure out when the best time is for it...maybe just bfore her bath so her tummy is full before bed? When did you introduce the first meal times? I cant believe how much she enjoyed it I really dont want to tell my friend, DH and I were giggling about it last night lol. Sorry to hear you are a bit upset about things, Im not sure ifyou have mentioned it before? I dont think you did a birth story for Theo yet did you? I think of him as "Feo" now thanks Kaili lol xx

Kymmy Im glad to hear your Dads foot will be fine...whew what a relif for your family. Archie is so gorgeous! At least he will be a nice tall boy, something there was a shortage of when I was growing up. Being a tall girl sucks I remember I had a crush on a short boy but knew we could never be...sigh... Lol I am taller than my dh now lol...

Shayna lmao at Abbey only going right kind of like Derek Zoolander lol.... I agree with the way life has changed too but it must be worse with 2. :hug: but better too in some ways...Like doible the sloppy kisses! V and Abbey are about the same age I think and they are having a wonder week at 19 weeks I think so I am expecting things to get worse before better...bummer. Im not sure if bls is for me but i like some ideas like the carrot sticks broccoli etc, I just shudder at porridge all over everything...Our entire house is carpet except the kitchen and bathrooms so theres nowhere to really be able to let V go nuts with food..I am envisioning bits of porridge concrete over everything lol..
I hate all the "talks" Im copping...V is my kid and Im not stupid enough to just read one book and calll it gospel. I have researched to back up my opinions and still ppl want to argue with me.. Im kind of pzzed I even gave V farex but also I think its also abit silly to be stubborn and do things purely out of spite too. I dunno, Im just sick of ppl telling me whats best, that might be the case for their kid but maybe not mine...Ive made a point not to try and even pretend to know wat its like to have kids when my friends have been trying to work things out with theirs and I dont appreciate being told what to do like Im a dumba$$..I want to be the one to decide what happens when...oookay vent anyone?!

Natty - just quickly - if you are going to try her on new foods - try it in the morning in case she is allergic to anything and has a reaction, it doesn't happen in the middle of the night when she is sleeping ;) Oh, and we don't do porridge here, more like toast and stuff they can hold until they can get a grip of a spoon and feed themselves. DD1 is awesome with yoghurt (which is good cos it was messy for a while.. LOL)

Telly - sorry about your grandad.. its so sad isn't it? I think it was really bad for me this time cos she was the last surviving grandparent - now I have none! I hope its just a bit of the baby blues for you - or the getting used to 2 kids instead of one (cos that I found difficult!) I have to say, 3 is soooo much easier than 2!

Kymmy - wow that is super long!!! I think DD2 is around 66cm - not sure, but she's nearly out of 00's - taking after her brother and sister thats for sure. I was giving DS a cuddle this morning and I'm like - god you're tall - he's just over a metre tall now - and I'm only 1.65.. LOL.. DH doesn't get it cos he's 2 metres tall exactly.

JD - yeah I get the whole "omg I have to speed this up otherwise I won't ever get it done!!" yup, thats my life - always on the accelerator!! LOL Ahh keeps it exciting though ay? ;)

AFM - DS is at day care today, DD2 is having a nap at the moment, DD1 is playing with her "twins" (a cabbage patch doll and iggle piggle doll) in the cat's bed, so cute, she's putting them to bed, burping them etc... nawwww... she had them in a sling yesterday, will have to post pics on facebook cos it was sooo cute!! LOL Have a chiro appointment today so hopefully she can help because my back is still a bit sore, and my elbow is rooted and my shoulder blade muscle kills. Not too much ay? hehe

Hi everyone! Mr I had his needles yesterday & now wants to be held & doesn't stay asleep when I put him in the cot. He woke at 4:30 this morning, he went to sleep at 7:30 and woke 5 mins later so don't think I'll get much done today. I can't put him in the sling to hang the washing out 'cause the mozzies are so bad here.

The doctor measured him but didn't write down his measurements, jut put them in the computer - I think he was 6.5kg & 67cm. He was average anyway. She said I should start giving him tastes of food, but I don't think he's ready yet (and I'm definitely not ready for stinky solids nappies) He's happy to sit on my lap and watch me eat & doesn't get upset. I waited till 6mths with DS1 & I think I'll wait a bit again & do BLS.

Mr I is getting more floor time now, but if DS1 is home he gets grabbed, rolled & pushed so I have to watch closely (& not go outside to hang the washing without dousing DS1 in mozzie repellant & taking him with me :rolleyes:)

Natty spoon feeding is messy too, babies have great aim when it comes to hitting the spoon & bowl - get a tarp to put under the highchair - you can buy special messy mats, but tarps are bigger so IMO better for the job.

Natty.. I'm gonna do BLW and cover my entire house in black plastic...... hahahahaha!

Baaaahaaahaaa! I think ill do a bit of both! The tarp idea is great!

but it doesn't have anything about the hospial visit/first week, thats where the problem is. both kids are sleeping, so i'll try and explain it quickly, its probably confusing.

The morning theo was born, was the morning we were gettting a new kitchen (sweet, everything to be done while im in hospital, i'll get home and it will all be done, looking fab). We planned on getting new lino in the kitchen, and getting the same lino in the bathroom. When they pulled up the old tiles in the bathroom the floor was that rotten there were holes everywhere. DH rang. this is about 10hrs after theo was born to tell me. I told him to leave the tiles there, hell if its lasted for the last 2 years we've lived there, i'm sure it will last another couple of months until we've all settled in etc.

He then decided, on his own, without consulting me, to pull the tiles up, and completely gut the entire bathroom, i mean.. completely. no walls, no floor (you could see all the dirt under the house). He called his mates to do an extreme makeover. Borrowed 10grand from his mummy, and started work.

When we were pregnant, we told all of our family and friends not to visit the first couple of days, as we wanted it to be our time together without interuptions. The only reason he was so strict on this, is cause he was irritated with my mum and didn't want her anywhere near him.

Sooo, now he was doing these renos, i barely got a visit from him. Whenever he did come, it was rush rush rush. You could see he was sweating, tapping his foot, watching the clock and wanted to get back to continue the renos. He palmed kaili off to my family, which infruiated me.. soo angry. I had left her to be in hospital with a baby who she had no idea who it was, and now, wow, dad is leaving her to work on the house? wtf! My parents asked him if i'd like a visitor, he still said no... it was no visitors for the first couple of days.

So there i was.. sitting in a hospital room, without even theo (he was in the scn), with absolutely no visitors. I was so lonely. .

When i'd call and mention that i might be coming home, he'd say things to encourage me to stay there (cause the house was a ****fight) :( He didn't want me to come home with his first born son.. Then when FINALLY theo was released, he came to pick me up, rush rush rush rush rush, then dropped me off at my parents house. I wasn't allowed to come home for another 2 days. Finally when i did get home, the house was... a complete disaster zone. $hit everywhere. Took me about a month to get things semi ok.

So basically, I'm heartbroken at the fact that the house came before his son, his daughter, and me. What should have been one of the happiest times of my life, was one of the loneliest.

A good friend was talking the other night about how she can't wait to have her wine and cheese platter at hospital after she has her baby, and i muttered to DH, "I was flat out getting a visitor, let alone a wine and cheese platter". :(

ahhh... that was a bit longer than a quick explanation, sorry!
I hope it makes sense. I might sound like a bit of a whinger, but it really upset me, and still does whenever i think about it.

Awwww :hug: I'd probably be really upset too. And I'm sure, in his mind, (being male!) he probably thought he was doing the best thing FOR you, by trying to get a brand new bathroom for you by the time you got home!! Best intentions and all that I'm sure!! :hug:

Hi Mon - I'm sooooo sorry about your grandad. My goodness what an awful week, this girl's baby, my sister in law's house got broken into and they left the door open (this was while they slept), stole the car but in the meantime one of their pussycat's got out and he got hit by a car and they found him on the side of the road, 100 metres from their house! Then my sister's old neighbour passed away yesterday.....now you grandad, seriously what is it this week! Just know he's in a lovely place now and I'm sure he'll be your guardian angel and watch over you and your kiddies. He knew how much you loved him and that's the main thing. Hi Telly - I feel for you and I would feel the exact same. I often think of my DH and get a bit the same to be honest, I haven't really mentioned anything to anyone previously but sometimes I think about it and it irks me. DH runs his own business and was very busy but I would've preferred him to take some more time out. He didn't stay with me as the bed was uncomfortable but continued to work, he was finishing work earlier so at least I had that and I did have loads of visitors. The only night that REALLY p'd me off was his indoor cricket night, he actually played, he had a 3 day old and chose to play indoor cricket! He asked if I minded and I said I'd prefer it if he didn't but would leave it up to him, hoping he'd not play and in he comes in his cricket gear to quickly eat with me and go again, I was livid! What is it with men honestly! Then he never had any time off, still hasn't, he's been coming home earlier than he used to (he used to work long hours) and he's great when he's here and often leaves later in the morning but still, those first few weeks would've been nicer if he'd been here more. :shakehead: So, I understand how you feel!

AFM - well, after a great night, Amelia slept from 10pm to 8.15am (and I woke her!) she's been so grizzly this arvo, it's taken me ages to get her to sleep, not sure if we're heading into the early stages of the next wonder week phase but she went back to 3 hourly feeds today too - she's asleep now thank goodness, she's not normally so grizzly so it worries me when she is. Funny how you get used to a certain personality and as soon as it changes you freak out! Oh well, we go with the flow don't we girls!

Also the girl who's bub died has text me and asked me to the funeral Tuesday. I only met her once but she doesn't have a lot of friends here as she moved from Queensland only a year ago. She wants babies there and no black, she wants it to be a celebration rather than in mourning. I think I'll go to show my respects, even though it will suck and I don't really know her that well. Guess when you have a bub yourself it doesn't really matter, you still feel upset even though you hardly knew the person. How she's keeping it together is beyond me! Amelia is having her 4 month needles Monday though so not sure if I should have her around other people? The nurse told me last time to stay away from others for 24 hours in case they have bugs. Did anyone else do the same or does it not really matter?

Hey Alison, thanks for the understanding. I can only imagine how frustrated you must be getting, i suppose i should count my blessings, atleast DH got 2 weeks off work (even tho 2/3rds of it was working on the house).

AFM- I took Ruby and Ash to a photo party today, it was awesome. They are called dreams2realityart and are based in Melbourne. Check out their website to have a look at what they do, they are going to be doing online orders soon.
I have been giving Ruby a bottle of formula late in the arvo and at about 10pm, she polishes it off and seems more settled. I expressed last night and got 100ml in 1 go so I dont think there is anything wrong with my supply. I wish I could have it both ways though, still BF when I want to but give her formula too, but I know the more formula I give her the less breastmilk I will make.... DH is all for me giving her the bottle but Im still not sure. All the advice I have given to the other mums on here - I wish I could take some of my own advice.
Ruby is just rolling and rolling! She gets frustrated though when she forgets how to roll back onto her tummy. She has even started to pull her knees under her - I hope she doesnt start crawling just yet - I might have to have another baby if she grows up too fast lol.

I've got a blocked duct - it is sooo sore. I'm trying anything I can think of to avoid mastitis, was thinking of making a doctors appointment for tomorrow, but didn't get around to calling until they'd closed. The breastfeeding book said to use gravity so I'm gonna give you lasses a mental image - I fed him with him on the bed and me on all fours above him! :o Hopefully I'll be OK tomorrow.

I don't quite know what to say about the BF/FF issue but I know that I so mss Brestfeeding and if I could go back, I would have tried harder to stay on track - BUT we only got to 6 weeks so who knows how I'd feel now! Hi Snowy, Madame, Shayna and everyone else! I have used up alot of web space already and DH is asking for the computer so just a quick hi until next time!!

AFM - Took Cruz to the CHN on Wednesday, he's 7.65kgs and 62cms - My little chubba bubba!! I think his teeth are definitely moving around, he's always got mething in his mouth, drooling everywhere and seems a bit irritable at times! He did go off his foo for a little bit, was only taking half a bottle and I got worrie but then figured out he was probably bored with the slow flow and got the medium flow teats instead, we use Closer to Nature Bottles and I realised the medium flow teats were for 3 months+ so yea.. Silly Mummy But now he's back to gulping down about a litre of formula a day no worries - LOVES his food! He has started to watch us eat and CHEWS when we do!But he's not grabbing for it yet.. Is that what I have to wait for?? My Bestie who has 2 little girls told me that I should start giving him "tastings" of things, like just the tiniest amounts of mashed veg etc so I MIGHT start doing that very soon after I have researched things properly. He's also waking up in between 4 and 6am the past few mornings, a bit unsettled, always goes back to sleep but wakes a couple of times - What's that about?! Not overly fussed on his breakfast when he has woken up so it's not hunger, his nappy is doing a good job and he's never too fussed on that anyway, nothing else has changed in his environment, sleeping arrangements etc so not sure, could that be put down to teeth you think? A particluar unsettled time in the arly morning? Hoping it's a growth spurt, wonder week or something - ****, reminds me, have to find and buy that book! He's rolling over tummy to back and pushing himself halfway over with his legs from back to tummy, he also slides himself around byoushing with his legs when he's on his back and can make it a fair distance! So no more leaving him in is playset with my back turned for a quick sec while I boil the kettle anymore! He'll shuffle himself into hiding! He's started giving us the BIGGEST belly laughs now, it's hilarious! We just adore our little guy :) Thinking we might go in for needles on Wednesday - I am devo'd - I hate needle times! Mummy cries more than Cruzy :( Lucky Daddy will be there to snuggle us both hehe :)

Am packing at the moment, we move in 2 weeks - I HATE Packing!! Looking forward to moving though, the area is absolutely gorgeous and can't wait for DH to start at his new job! He's finished the odl one now and has a week off in between - Yaaay! Mummy might get a few sleep in's this week! Woot woo! Have found a Mummies Group aready and can't wait to get some sort of a social life happening over there!! Lots of parks, playgrounds, play centres etc - It's a Delfin estate so totally designed with families in mind - We are going to LOVE living there I think!! Woot!

OH and I have only one pram :( You make me feel deprived! I have my beloved Bootiq Kooper which I adore - HOWEVER I need a more practical pram for jogging/walking/mums and bubs exercise classes etc - Since this group seems to be Pramaholics Anonymous, any recommendations my lovely junkies??

Well, I have been giving DH the evil eye every time he tries to talk to me while I am typing so I best turn my B*tch Switch off and get some loving haha - Bah he wants to use the computer anyway, so my loving will be with the Foxtel remote for a while I think...
