just popped in to say SHOPPING SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it is so hard now with 2 lol. mason always needs a feed just as i am about to go into the shop. oh and not to mention my mum has been no help. most of the time she comes shopping with me because she cant go by herself because of her eye and she has been gettin shi tty with me if i have to go feed or take DD while i am feeding.
how is everyone going bfing?
-
going good here 7 whole days and no sign of stopping :) might be venturing out 2moro if the weather is ok have fed her once when we were out fri :) i have a bfing pillow but i dont even need that so excited about the whole thing really
-
Sassy- I remember how hard it is to get out with 2 little ones, I was like that after I had DS, in the end I just gave up going tot he shops because it would always end with all 3 of us in tears. Now I don't bother trying to go and do my grocery shopping with the kids, I usually order it online and have it delievered, it is so much easier and more convienent. I hope things get better for you!
BF is going really well here, I think that Kate has been the easiest of my 3 to feed, she has had excellent attachement since her first feed, and is getting really effecient at finishing a feed. In the night we usually do feed, burp and nappy change and back to bed in 45mins- an hour.
I am yet to venture far with all 3 on my own, I did school run this morning with all 3 kids and that went well, but we haven't gone further than that. DD1 is at school tomorrow and I am taking DS and DD2 to playgroup.
Anyway I had better go, sounds like it is feed time.

BFing is going GREAt here!! And I've already fed in public! Fed her in public at 6days old but i did have to go into the mothers room but im heaps more confident now so no stopping me!! finally feeding off both sides painfree!! dont know if i mentioned it but when i had the blocked ducts/ early mastits my partner emptied my boob kinda haha wierd..
Seeing the nurse today so will see how eboni is going. Last week at 10days old she had put on 100grams  and now she feels heavier so hoping she has put 100g if not more on. I'm doing all the right things regarding feeding :)
Cant believe Eboni will be 3weeks old on friday! ahh where has the time gone?!?! She is REALLy head strong. and has been since birth. I cant believe she already tries to hold her head up and pushes with her legs to move up. Oh her headbutts hurt...
I've had abit of an UTI! omg not fun, it burnt to pee on saturday and i was dreading it but got some URAL and have been having that but cant take it for 5 days straight.. so if it continues i best go to the doctor. but URAL is heaven!! I can pee burn free haha Sorry if thats TMI
Sorry i havent been posting here for awhile i kinda forget when im on here to pop in. Halfway through typing my BS up. Been really lazy about that Oops..
Hope mummas and bubbas are doing well

I wish I could say the same about the bfing... my supply id going down hill and i am struggling to pump out enough for a feed. I am over having to pump all the time and also try and bf. Why cant i just have 1 child who will attach? I think I will get a nipple shield to try again but last time I tried she just sucked the top of my nipple and it killed. I dont know what to do any more. Well got to go pump... am doing 3 hourly pumps to try and increase supply. I hope it works. Sorry no personals.... hope youre alll well.
-
Mini sorry to hear that BF isn't going well for you, I can't imagine how stressful it is trying to feed and pump and deal with the other girls as well. I really hope that you are able ot increase your supply and that Amy learns to attach. Just remember that you will know what is the best thing to do for you and your family, and you are giving it a red hot go!

Hi everyone I am back! Thanks for the congrats, time is flying so quickly!
Our friends left at lunchtime and DD1 is in daycare and Miss A is asleep :D
Firstly big  to Mini, hun you are doing an amazing job, can you get into your GP to get a prescription of Motillium, it works better than Maxolon and will help with your supply, have you managed to get a nipple shield, both DD's woujld jsut suck ont he end of the nipple they just couldn't take the whole thing in, and the shield does do wonders in this situation, they don't cost much and they just make a huge difference and it doesn't hurt
Well done Retro, I am glad things are going well for you and BF'ing Eboni and I am thrilled you have the confidence to BF in public, I have done it quite a few times with DD2 already, and it is pretty tricky with the shield at times as well  I hope the UTi clears very quickly for you.
Ali ~ I hope you have had a lovely daya t playgroup with your two LO's :)
Welldone JJJ, 7 days you are doing a great job!!
Sassy ~ I have been either going with just DD2 shopping or by myself and using online !
AFM ~ Bfing is going great, still using the shields and I have decided to not wean off them for a while yet, DD is putting on weight, is settled and a pretty calm baby, she is 3350grams at 5 weeks old, she is filling out a bit more and seems to be doing it a lot quicker than her sister did, but she is growing in length likey crazy, suits with feet are just not going to last her, the 0000 are really baggy, but in a couple of those she is starting to push on the length  nothing like her sister who is a really shorty! I put her in a NB PP top yesterday and it was like a dress  but still cute!
Our "routine" as much of a routine we have, has been all over the place last couple of days, but now our visitors have gone I want to get DD1 and DD2 back into some kind of rough routine, well atleast enough so I can work out the daycare dop offs and pick ups!
Must run for now, got some cleaning and sorting to do!
xxoo

Mini - I admire your dedication to keep trying to express and breastfeed, sounds like you are doing your best, and it can't be easy with two other little ones to care for as well. Have you seen the lactation consultant yet? Or maybe been in touch with the ABA? You sound like you are well informed anyway and doing everything you can - I really hope things turn around for you in the b'feeding area, but if not, know that you have given it your best shot and you just need to do what is right for you and your family.
Beema - great news on the weight gain and growth for and Miss A, you deserve and easy time of it now! Way to go on the public b'feeding too!
Retro - things in your worl sound like they are going really well which is wonderful to hear. And I think it si awesome you have been feeding in public too! I am still not confident enough but know that I'll need to give it a go sooner or later!
Ali - I think even doing a school run with three is an amzing effort! Hope you have a nice day today and playgroup and it all goes smoothly for you.
JJJ - great news that all is going well with you too - I hope it continues to stay smooth sailng for you - must make the transition easier for Jamie too when things are going so well.
AFM - Edward had his 4 week check up with the Maternal Health and Childcare Nurse today. He now weighs 4650grams (little chubby fellow! He has put on 1kg since birth now!) and height is 55cm. He is a growing boy that's for sure! I start mothers group next thruday which i am looking forward to. My SIL is visiting this weekend so it will be nice to have some family around for a couple of days. Not much else to report here.
Hope everyone else is doing well. I have to say that I think all of you who have more than one must be super women! Edward seems to (joyfully) take up every moment of my day - so I think you are all doing a fab job to be caring for a newborn and also taking such good care of your other little ones too!
-
we havent even had our first check up yet coz the nurse only works tuesday and friday and coz not open yesterday she coming fri i think or i might be going there not sure
figured out why jamie is so bad at the moment hes got more teeth coming through gah but a plain old teething ring works a treat
squidge has dimples well i think i saw them and if thats the case shes gonna look my sister bad lol jamie looks like DH's brother its so scary to see lol
-
Thanks girls, I have done the nipple shield now... not great :( I was hoping for more success but I just dont see ithappening and I dont think my mental health is going to stay strong for much longer. I have been in tears for the past few days over the feeding issue. I have put so much effort into it this time around and I am struggling to let go and move forward with formula. Every feed Amy takes a bottle because she just wont suck at the boob. And I give her a good go every feed. I have had to give her formula 2 times now because my supply dipped, mainly due to stress. I am getting run down too. GgGrrrr this has happened with each and every baby I have had. I have the equiptment, just my girls wont suck. I know my sister and I did the same thing... maybe gentetics???? LOL Anyway I hope you are all well and your bubs are growing strong. Sorry for the me post, once I have made a firm decision I will be back on here to let you know
-
i was opposite i was sucking too hard on my mum poor thing she ended up bleeding and we werent getting any milk for 3 weeks and her mchn ended up giving her formula and telling her its ok if u dont succeed
were going to be moving closer to melb by next yr fingers crossed
-
sorry i have been mia i have been very sore and have rellies visiting and just have not had time to get on the comp.
i will write up the birth story when i get more than 5 mins, but basically i went in at 6.30am had gel, broke my waters at about 1.30pm was 3cm dilated, had epidural 4 hours later after not dilating anymore, it didn't work and i had a patch that i could still feel :( was not good :( i ended up having her at 11.26pm after episiotomy and help from suction as she was in posterior position, so i am waiting for stitches to get better before spending long periods on here.
she is a little cracker though, she is a little boob monster and is a pro at bf! i am so lucky, she sleeps 4-5 hours a go at night, i love her to pieces!!!
she was 7lb1, 50cm, born at 11.26pm, her name Kayla Jayne Evelyn is that all the details?
i will do persies when i have caught up with everyone! hope you are all ok :)
-
yep thats everything was she born the 22nd? cant count lol
yay to booby monster got one here too :) stitches suck i had a pretty bad tear with jamie and it was so painful to sit or do anything
squidge is sleeping really well at night 4 -5 hour stints wish she would start being awake more in the day though lol im getting bored i think were gonna go down to the park today coz its a nice day
hope all the bubbas are doing well xoxoxox

Mini - sorry to hear you are having such a tough time hun. Big hugs. Just keep remembering you have done your best for your little ones and that as much as you want it to work out, if breastfeeding doesn't work out then you have not failed in anyway, sometimes it just doesn't happen for one reason or another. You have struggled and put so much more effort into it, so don't forget to be proud of yourself too. This can be a teary time as it is, so know that you can come in here and let it all out.
SPF - ouch, hope you heal up soon hun. But yay that the induction worked - even though you are sore now it is great you didn't end up needing a c-section. Great that Kayla is sleeping so well too - hopefully getting enough rest will help you heal up quickly.
JJJ - that's great you might be moving closer to melb - how far out do you live now? Brilliant Squidge is sleeping well and feeding well for you too. 4-5 hours sleep in a row must feel like bliss!
AFM - went walking again this morning (am trying not to overdo it after the c-section, but am finding a daily walk does wonders for my mental health! Sitting at home alone all day sends me a bit crazy!). I stopped by a cafe on the way home to get a takeaway coffee but ended up waiting for ages and little Mr Edward decided to crack it and wasn't taking no for an answer and screamed the cafe down until I summoned up the courage and gave him a feed. Granted, I was in the outside courtyard, and no one else was sitting out there (just some foot traffic) - but I was very proud of myself for doing a feed in public!
-
   Mini, it is ok, what ever you need to do, we are here to support you, have you posted in the BF'ing support section? If you include Barb Glare in the title she is amazing and can put you in contact with someone in your area who can help you out, DD1 was a terrible sucker and I had to tickle her under the chin, strip her down to her nappy to get her to feed, she was a sleepy crappy sucking feeder, but we got through it. Although I can only imagine how much harder it is with two other little girls. Be gentle with yourself and take care .
My nipples were bleeding quite badly at the start with DD2, she was very rough, but now that it has all healed and I am sticking with the shields we are going along nicely and generally pain free.
Welcome Back SPF!!! It can be hard having visitors, especially when you want to rest and recover as well, I am so glad things are going along so well for you!! I look forward to reading your BS :D
Thanks Bubble!! Wow isn't Edward doing fabulously what a great weight gain!!! WTG go on the public BF'ing!!
I hope that everyone else and their bubba's are going well , I must run as it is feeding time again! xxoo
