were doing well here were having a few issues with sleeping arrangements she has an aversion to the basinet but i got her to sleep in it for half the night last night yay to me i think my milk is settling too and shes feeding less often so shes getting filled up which is good
-
Miss A is in 0000, her waist is still skinny , but the 00000 target pants fit her now :D
I have put her in some 0-3month clothes and she is swimming in them but she'll grow into them, she is growing a lot quicker that DD1 did :leap:
Still in Newborn Nappies, hoping that the IB's will fit properly soon, but not far off as her legs are chubbing up and I believe we are going to have a baby who has some rolls on her legs - we waiting 12 months for DD1 to get a leg roll PMSL!
I have to take A for her needles now she is over two months old :o
Sounds like your milk is just settling Retro, mine did as well, I don't really feel full much, but there is definitely enough milk there!
I hope everyone else is going well, must run I have to get work done while A is asleep!
-
mason is still feeding heaps. guring the day if he lasts 2 hrs my boobs end up sooooo sore. he is sleepin 2.5hrs at night. he wnot sleep in his cot of a day. he loves his swing but i dont want him to get used to being rocked to sleep we made that mistake with dd. he also doesnt sleep much of a day. maybe i am missin his tired signs and he gets over tired
-
hey all... just killing time while i pump... although a bit awkward to type! just a bit of excitement.... took A to the osteo today for the second time and by tonight i am prett sure we had a successful feed. It took about 45 minutes both sides and although she was on and off a fair bit, she did also drink a bit too... her next feed was 2 hours later... well apparently coz i left the kids with dh while i did some late night xmas shopping! yay anyway! so how long is everyone taking to do a feed? would it be considered a proper feed even though i have to rre attach her a fair bit?
Oh shes also been unsettled and feeding 2 hourly lately. think shes having a growth spurt.... smiling and cooing!
better go.... wiggles concert tomorrow with my big girls
-
well feeds now take 30-45 mins but thats both sides including a nappy change in between it can sometimes stretch into an hour
last night jazz had her last feed at 10:30 pm and didnt have another one till 8 this morning :) gotta go for my 6 week appt to see the doc about contraception :o no little accidents gonna happen here and i dont think im protected coz im not feeding over night all the time
-
We viewed our first place yesterday :) it was alright. cross fingers we get it if not oh well atleast we ried. jsut need to take application in. we are looking to move out, it is VERY over crowded here. feel like im trapped in a box..

Still demand feeding here :) she is doing wel. she came off yesterday and then attached herself! so proud!! JJJ - 10.30 until 8am?!!!! You lucky thing!! I cant wait until Edward sleeps for that long!!
Mini - yay on a full feed! Sounds like all of that hard work is paying off! 45 mins sounds like a good amount of time for a full feed. Edward feeds take about an 45 mins to an hour on average (including a nappy change). Sometimes during his night feeds he will only feed for about 15 mins on one side but then fall asleep for the second side. He also went through what I think was a growth spurt around six weeks, especially in the afternoons / early evening he was 'cluster' feeding (bascially non-stop feeding for about four hours - he wouldn't sleep and was grizzly for play and was only happy when he was on the boob!
Retro - good luck with the application on your own place! I hope you had a great birthday too!
Oops - better run, Eddie has woken up needing a feed. I have a rtten cold at the moment and am worried he is getting it.
Be back later.
-
i will add she wasnt asleep for all of it probably 12 till 8 it is weird though coz even jamie was still waking at this stage but shes a pretty awesome baby :) and breastfeeding too so i thought she would feed more shes doing probably every 3 hours and stretching it out to 4 im a little worried shes not getting enough but shes not upset or anything so iguess shes ok
-
Wow that is awesome JJJ, WTG Jazzy
Good luck with the house hunting Retrogal, and your 6 weeks checkup, do what you want to do contraception wise :crossfingers:
I hope your cold is very short lived Bubble
How was the Wiggles Mini? DD1 has only recently gotten into them so I hadn't bought tickets, but will next time they are in town :D Wooo Hooo for the awesome results after the oesteopath appointment, I sooo understand what it is like to be hooked up to the pump for so long, I think it was my third arm with DD1
I hope you get some more sleep soon Sassy, it must be so hard
How are you going Ali?
AFM ~ been flat out working and doing the household stuff and most importantly looking after my girls. DD2 is rocketing along, feeding well, she is growing so darn fast and starting to chub up - of which I am super excited after DD1 only had a chubby face as she got older, never got the rolls on her legs, so I am hoping for some with DD2. We are now on a liquid form of Loces, and OUCH it is expensive, I ahve to speak with out PHI tomorrow to see if we can get some money back on it. I have to take DD2 to the Dr this week for her 2 month shots, and I am going to see if we can trial a combination of Losec and Gaviscon (depending on how we can administer it), as a friend has found that the combo works better than just the Losec. I also need to speak with her Paed about her final US results, hopefully no follow ups will be needed and she can be discharged and we can just see the GP for checks.

cut and pasted from another thread! too lazy to retype....
I made the decision last night to just stop and give formula full time. So I have given her nearly 8 weeks ebm and cant be happier. I only wish I could have been one of those women who just shove them on and off they go. Now for the wonderful weaning process..... Am feeling at peace with it all though. Just make things easier in a sense and I have done it all before. I just hope shes ok on the formula. I will continue to express off for a few more days until I dont burst!
I hope everyone and their beautiful bubs are doing well. x o
-
Mini- congratulations on making it to 8 weeks with ebm, you have done a fantastic job, you should be very proud of yourself! It is always a rough decision to make, glad to hear that you feel at peace!
-
uve done awesome mel dont let anyone tell u otherwise u did better than me first time i lasted 5 days and its awesome ur feeling at peace with it shes such a gorgeous girl it wont matter if she has BM or Formula :)
ok now im really lazy and dont want to pump do u think it would be bad for her to have formula once in a while like when my mum baby sits? oh and if not i think i need an electric pump the manual one i have is just not fast enough
-
   Mini what an awesome job you have done, you should be so so proud of yourself
I have a double electric JJJ, an Ameda Purely Yours, but I am glad to say it isn't getting used much, but it is a great pump, very quick and efficient, but I wouldn't spend the $$ on one like that for just a bit fo pumping, I used it long term so got my $$ worth out of it with DD1 :)
-
Well done Mini - you have done a fantastic job to get this far!!
-
Thanks girls for the words of support. I only wish it could have lasted longer, however it didnt! Now to move forward! I have taken myself off the couch and can now do a lot more.....
-
well AF is back damn witch lol i only started taking my mini pill a week ago and im feeling ok so far i hope that isnt wat set it off
BFing is still going awesome now pain free and jazzy is going good not gaining like her brother did but he was FF but shes not going backwards and the nurse doesnt seem very worried at all and ive been feeding a lot more relying on the dummy a lot less so im hoping that helps
-

ETA- AF hasnt returned yet and i do a a script for the pill but im un sure of it i want to take it... and had my 6week check up on the 6th dec and everything is good. but seeing physio on tuesday to talk about my tear or something, have to go back monday to have an examination so she can see if im doing my pelvic floor exercises right, DP has to some as DD was restless
-
Hi girls,
Things are going well here. No AF for me as yet. I have a script for the Mirena but my dh and I are a bit hesitant about getting it in...it looks scary! Will have to do some research. I think there are going to be some big conversations here about our future plans for children. I dont know if I am finished yet and I dont know if dh is either! Although it would be only 1 more if there was one! So we are just being as careful as we can be....which isnt safe at all!
Amy is now weighing 4.6kgs and is 54cms... dont remember her head circ! Shes doing fine on the formula too. Shes starting to wake up a bit more and is smiling and sometimes laughing and making sounds. She hits out at toys dangling from the A-frame. We went to have her needles this morning at the gp clinic which finished at 1030. I got there 4 minutes late and they wouldnt take me...needless to say I was upset and have had to book in an appointment to see the dr next week. I am going to have my whooping cough booster at the same time too.
Ok better go... hope you are all doing well
-
Hi all, no AF here yet not looking forward to when that kicks in again!
Things are going ok here. We are waiting on some test results taken yesterday but Campbell may have whooping cough which will suck if he does. He had his injection on Friday so I will be spewing if he caught it just before he had his injection. Poor little man is miserable and having major problems sleeping and settling. We have his cot jacked up to the maximum the raiserscwill let you go and he slept a little better last night but he is barely making it to 3 hours between feeds day and night which is taking it's toll on me & dh. I ended up having a formula day on Saturday to give a rest from the constant feeding and expressing and he did sleep a bit better but we were straight back to ebm on Sunday and back to shorter times between feeds :(
He is now having thickener in his feeds to help with the regurgitation and it is great, he is bringing up heaps less. Had a weigh in yesterday and he is now 4175g @ 8w5d which is an increase of 480g in 11 days he is now out of some of his 0000's! He is crying when he finishes his bottle as if he wants more but we were told we were feeding him too much and to cut back so not sure whether to ignore that and let him eat until he stops or to listen and then put up with more frequent feeds. He should be having 750ml for his weight but yesterday he had 800 and still seems hungry - I don't want to give him too much and make him spew more, but I don't want to hold back either if he is hungry. I think today I will put a bit more in his bottles and see what happens. He has another weigh in next week so we will see if it makes a difference.
Still got heaps to do to get ready for Christmas. Am going to tackle Southland today with the double pram - wish me luck!
-
Oh no marknjo.... what a bugger about the whooping cough. Amy is of to get her needles today and I am getting the booster. I hope he gets better real soon. Well done on the weight gain and congrats on still expressing. Its so hard to do it with another little one around. I must say though after 1 week of not expressing my nipples are so much better! Enjoy Southland today, you are very game! I went to Dandenong Plaza instead of Southland on Saturday thinking it would be quieter but it wasnt!!! I only have food to get so will just head to Parkmore instead... although that place is just as busy!
As for the increasing amount of feeds... Amy wants more too at the moment, so I am debating on increasing her amounts. We dont have any reflux issues though so Im not too much help in that department.
Hello to everyone. I hope you and your bubs are doing well x o
-
Good news, not whooping cough just a terrible sounding cough! Thank goodness. He is getting a bit better every day which is great.
Have decided to go from EBM to formula feeds am only expressing once a day to take the pressure off and the bbs are settling down. The motilium wasn't making a huge difference and he seems to be more settled and less uncomfortable after a formula feed so decision made. I am just using up the frozen milk we have and then he will be on purely formula in a couple of days. At the moment I am alternating until all the EBM is used up.
Well got heaps to do for tomorrow so have a great Christmas everyone and stay safe.
-
Just a quick Merry Christmas and Happy New year. We are off camping tomorrow for 2 weeks. Have a great one and catch up when I am back
-
hi there ladies
Sorry i havnt been in for ages i come on the comp and get like 5 min before someone needs me.
I dunno when i last came in here so sorry if i repeat anything.
I ended up putting mason on formula at 7 weeks because he was feeding like every hour and was very unsettled and had very very watery poo's. as soon as i put him on he went to 3 to 4 hrs apart and slept so well.
my milk has only just dried up, had cabbage everyday, expressed tiny bits and drank sage tea to try to dry it up, it was sooooooooooo painful but we got there lol.
im scared to go back to baby clinic cause the nurse is so pro breastfeeding and i dont wanna get a lecture.
Mas is going to bed at like 9pm then wakes at 230 and 430 for bottles. he has done a few night where he has gone 9 to 530 and i was in so much shock and got my hopes up so much the next night.
Hope everyone had a great chrissy and all the bubs got spoilt. what did everyone get their bubs. we got mas mainly clothes but a bumbo seat and a little ride on car thing.
-
Sassy- dont let the nurse say anything to you about how your feeding. Mas is getting his food and is gaining weight so thats the main thing. Your doing whats best for him!!
DP and I got Ebs "my first toybox" it has about 6 toys, a activity table and a tummy timr mat, from my sister (tk) she got a sit me up elmo, some toys, clothes, from my other sister she got books, my parents got her a fair few things, books, toys etc....
Hope everyone had a merry xmas.
Ebs now weighs 5.96kg! probably 6kgs now. Yay!!! she is getting so cheeky.... cooing , smiling just being cheeky. Love her to bits, she has made me so happy!!
-
retro: i had looked at the my first toy box but DD had a similar version of all the toys so i didnt see the point. much with all the toys i looked at lol.
mini: i think it was u that wrote about the mirena. I got mine put it just after my 6 week check up. it hurt a little gettin it in just like period pain but that said it hurt a little more then usual for me cause i had a bit of scare tissue up there from after having mas. i had 1 day of light period pain and 3 days of spotting and since then i have had 2 or 3 days of really light spotting. some people say their DH can feel the string when DTD and have to get them cut a bit shorter but we havnt had any trouble with it. i feel so much better after gettin it in. also it only sends the hormone that stops ya gettin preg in the small area not ur whole body like the pill. if u decide to get it out u can just get it taken out at the doc.
to everyone that has gone to formula dont feel bad its better then stressing that ur bub isnt gettin enough. i was so upset when i decided to put mas on formula i tried going back to BFing twice but it just upset his tummy so once it kept happening i felt alot better with my decision of puttin hiim on formula because it wasnt hurting him like my milk was.
mas is gooing and garring all the time now and gets up a little giggle, esp when he has done a poo and i change his nappy liek he is saying sucked in mum lol.
Started toilet training jayda yesterday and she is doing so well so far.
-
Jazzy rolled from front to back today she only just started lifting her head it's the same time jamie did it I was right they are twins lol
-
WTG Jazz, super clever little girl :)
I think we are still a bit away from any rolling, but i am sure she will be quicker than DD1 who was over 12 months
-
Eboni rolled from her belly to hr back yesterday!! DP missed it. seems he misses alot of things she does... I feel i need to force himto spend time with DD and i houldnt have to. Eboni now weighs 6.43kgs. has put on 470g since 22nd dec! she is a trooper and loves her booby juice
-
-
Hey girls we are back from camping. Had a fab time. Congrats to those babies who are rolling. I dont think Amy is near ready after spending the past 2 weeks either in the pram or in someones arms so she wouldnt get ants/bullants/scorpians or any other bug on her! She slept in her sisters room in the cot last night for the first time. She did well and slept from 9pm til just before 6am. Shes asleep again now in our bed... I went to the supermarket at 6am!
Hope all is well x o
-
Happy 2011 everyone! I realised the other day it has been ages and ages since I have been in here. I hope everoyne had a great christmas with their bubs and their families and 2011 has started off well.
Things here are going great, we had a lovely relaxing christmas and new year. We have just spent 5 days down south with DH's mum and that was fantastic (other than Liam and I both having a day of gastro while we were away).
Kate is going great guns, she is feeding and sleeping like a champ- generally sleeping between 5-9 hours overnight, depending on how much sleep/ feeding she has done during the day. I haven't had her weighed in a while, but we measured her the other day and she is 64 cms. She has just moved out of our room and the basinette and into her cot in her own room, the transistion went really well. We have also started a sleep routine in her room with her, and it is working really well- she can generally settle herself of to sleep with us just sitting in there with her.
I have just started back with my personal trainer this week ( I do group out door training) and it feels excellent to be back into some proper excercise, I was a bit sore after my kickboxing session on Friday, and I did some cardio this morning and I think I might feel a bit sore tomorrow, but it feels like I haven't lost too much fitness over my pregnancy. I am also thinking about starting yoga in an attempt to get my core muscles in better condition.
Anyway I hop everyone is doing well, and staying out of the heat/ rain or whatever whether mother nature is throwing at you. Looking forward to hearing everyone's news
-
Wow... its so quiet in here. I hope that means youre all busy with your little babies and everyone is doing well. We are going fine. Amy is mostly sleeping through the night from about 830 til 630, but the last 2 nights she has woken for a feed around 3am. She still sleeps a lot. I retried her on the boob but it didnt work in that she would still pull on and off, so bottle it is. After seeing Ali's pics on fb of Kate laying on her tummy up on her arms, I had to do sonething with Amy, who still loves to just lay on her tummy and suck her fists! Shes lifting her head a little bit more and thats with 1 week of constant tummy time post feed. Shes not rolling yet... I think dd2 rolled at 3.5months. DD1 didnt roll as she was in a pavlik harness for her hips. I still havent got AF back and am not on any form of contraception. Any ideas on when she will rock up? Some times I think shes coming then the feeling passes! Cant complain though!
Well, take care all x o
-
no idea ive only had one visit from the witch since jazzy was born still waiting for another visit
jazzy is still doing awesome love my little princess she sleeps 8 hours most nights so when we move she'll be going into her cot :o im almost afraid to have her out of our room lol but in the new house we wont have room in our room
-
Not rolling here yet, A is wiggling a lot and when she has nappy free time or in the bath she kicks like crazy, she's like a little frog :) DD1 didn't roll until almost 14 months, but she had hypermobility and needed a heap of physio to help her.
Sleeping up to 12 hours at night :o I never thought it was possible, but some nights she wakes for a feed, but will generally sleep in longer if she does that. She is really long, so guessing she has that from DH, not me I'm average height , putting on weight, slowing down now to about 100grams a week, but she is moving and wiggling more so not at all concerned :D
I haven't seen the witch yet, and have been wodnering if should would come back as I only occassionally feed overnight. With DD1 it didn't come back until I had weaned off the Motilium (which i read later was a supressent for AF), so I have no idea what will happen this time. Sorry I can't help Mini, its just one of those things....... When did it happen with your other DD's
She is 4 months old in a few days, I just can't believe it, she is growing soo quickly
-
:waves: hello!! sorry I haven't been around lately...
Eboni is going great guns still!! goes to sleep between 8.30-10.30pm and wakes between 6-8 sometimes earlier. She doesnt really wake for a feed during the morning but when she does it stuffs me about as i'm not used to doing it.... she is a great sleeper now, very cheeky!! So chubby! its funny she has rolls everywhere... she weighs 6.69kgs (she is 2kgs and abit less then her cousin who is 14mnths older) I just love her to bits!! she has started fanging on her fingers..
With sposie nappies which are you using?? I've used huggies which i dont mind, but I just want to try others. atm im trying coles nappies (with those gumnut people on them) so far they are okay.... I sound like a cheap skate... i said to DP this morning i want to try different ones as incase we cant afford boxes of huggies all he said was you can buy huggies in the bags... arrgghh men!.
Hoping all mummas and bubbas are doing well!!
-
beema- I stopped bf my other girls and went on the pill so by 10 weeks old af arrived.
Retro- I have to use huggies with Amy as she is a huger wetter. With my other 2 I used Aldi and had no issues. Amy leaks with those and with baby love. So far I havent had any issues with huggies, just that they are heaps more expensive, so am buying in bulk when on special. I just got them for $29.95 a box from foodworks.
TripleJ when are you moving?
-
at this stage the end of feb will be finding out specific details the end of this week exciting but scary at the same time im actually crapping myself never had to move before still dont know how im packing my dishes lol we dont have any newspaper and i dont really wanna buy them just to pack with i have a roll of paper that jamie was supposed to draw on but its just easier with small bits of paper lol
i would post in here more but i dont like posting 3 times in a row i feel like a twit lol still dont know how im gonna go with moving 2 young kids wish i could express so i could leave jazzy but she might not even take a bottle i would even do formula if it wasnt gonna be almost a whole day i'll just have to have the 2 kids here as much as it scares me lol
-
How come you have to post 3 times in a row? Is that including fb? It must be scary having to move with 2 kids...do you have any supports..like your mum to look after them while your moving? Maybe you could go to the local newsagent and see what they do with their unsold papers? Or maybe the butchers?
-
I finally have a new avy, only took me nearly 4 months
I jsut changed my background and Keike did the "Me/A/N?Firefly who is a butterfly ;)"
Mini are you going to get one?
I would try the butchers as well for paper, i think with the newsagents they just have to cut out the barcode to return them, but I am not 100% on that.
