    Hello girls!

Just thought I'd drop in quickly and say hello!

Hope you are all doing well and getting to have a nap when your babies are sleeping/napping!

I have a group question re: BF? - Is anyone else having to wake their babies after 4 hours for a feed? I find that Noah will sometimes start to fuss a little around 4 hours after his last feed and will feed him then, but find that I mostly have to wake him to feed him now..... is this normal? Ok? Being a first time Mummy I'm a tiny bit worried and my Mum said that she reckons it's ok. Could possibly still be the jaundice as he is still a tiny bit yellow, although he does have some hours in the morning when he is alert and awake.

Just wanted to find out what you girls thought/opinions are...?

Just got home after our first grocery shopping trip and Noah was a little Angel!! Literally! He slept all the way to the shops and in the trolley and all the way back home again and still sleeping. He is due for his next feed in 10 mins so will probably have to wake him again as I don't see him waking on his own...lol.

I'm in quite a bit of pain though since coming home. My 2nd degree tear is still giving me quite bad pain and I have noticed standing and sitting for a long time and walking around a lot makes it ache/burn more......

Well then, best get going but will pop in again soon!

    Love to you all!

Pretz - I wake Alannah if we get to 4.5 hours, esp if she has already had a big 6-7 hour sleep during the night. Noah will (listen to me giving advice when I have just turned myself inside and out with Alannah! lol) sort himself out but 'it is early days yet'. Alannah is starting to wake up by herself around the 4 hour mark. They say to only alllow one big sleep in a 24 hr period. Hope that helps you....only half way through my first coffee.

Sparkles - the cluster feeds are a group of really (and often very annoying) close feeds. This builds up your supply and provides them with 'more' in the event they sleep longer and for periods of growth spurts. Alannah seems to have shorter feeds during this time so I am actually trying to keep her on the boob longer to get the fatter milk in the hope it will stretch her out longer. Hope that makes sesne.......Alannah does her from after dinner through till around midnight buuuut I did get to bed for an hour last night so I think she is slowly going longer. Growth spurts are at around, and not precisely 2, 4 and 6 weeks. Alannah is 3 weeks and just coming out of her 2 week one...........fingers crossed!
I know what you mean about the moment. Last Friday (I think) I had a complete meltdown. I had been crying every day for almost 2 weeks and one small thing just ticked me off. I was thinking of ff (after 2 kids who I bf), what would happen if I left DH, phonibg Tresillian because I thought Alannah was a problem baby etc etc etc Damn Hormones!!!!! I have actually said no visitors till Alannah and i sort ourselves out and I am back on top of things - that inc 2 of my closest friends.

AFM: The little miss is now having a feed leading up to midnight and a 4 / 5 am one, there goes my big 6 hour sleep I was getting! *sigh* DH goes back to his real job today so I am back to flying solo from 7am till 6am...with three kids! eeeeekkkkk!!!!!!

    Okay, have to shower.

Have started drink my milk making tea (can't remember if I have mentioned it) and I am back to ouchie let downs again! lol As long as the little miss is satisfied, that is all that matters.

So mad with our Pediatrician right now. When I was in hospy, he told me to make an appointment when I got home and to mention Alannah was a Nepean Private baby and they would slot her in. So I did. That was on the 27th Sept. It worked our perfectly because DH was off on the date we made the appointment for. Yesterday his receptionist phones and says he can't do that day now and mumbled something about him going on hols. She told me not to 'take it personally'. Anyways, Alannah will be 9 weeks old before she is seen. She kept saying if I had any concerns to take her to a GP...der!! I would do that anyway. And now DH cannot come.

So I called Community Health and asked them could they send our someone sooner than planned and i explained what happened. I said with DS#2 no one came out until he was three months old (from Community Health). I also said I felt like I had just been cast aside everywhere. I know I am a 3 x Mum, but that does not mean I am not entitled to peace of mind and to know if she has put weight on etc

If Community Health don't call me today, I am going to bite the bullet and phone another Pediatrician!

    Fairs fair?

Jo - glad to see you found the thread! lol

    Okay, need to keep moving.

Nikki - Hope you got your grocery shopping done with both kiddies and they were good for you. My Mum and I are going to go do grocery shopping tomorrow. Yes, my pelvic floor/pelvis still hurts and feels achy and tender. I also still have a really sore lower back and my va-jay-jay still hurts (where I tore) too. It seems to be ok at times and getting better, but then once I've been up and moving around heaps it seems to be getting worse again. I actually phoned this morning and made an appt with my physio for Wednesday as the physio that saw me in hossy said that I have Diastasis (muscle separation of my abdomen muscles) and where it usually is 2-4cm separated, mine is 6cm separated and I was told I'd need some physio for a while but better to get it tended to now than later and have more problems with it.

AFM, never had a sleep today as we had some friends over today and they just left. Noah didn't sleep much either today and fed really well. He is asleep now and I'm about to go have a shower before his next feed, then time for dinner (thankfully my Mummy is cooking us tea) and then hopefully when Noah goes to sleep, I can get a few hours sleep too. Perhaps I'll express some milk and Daddy or Granny can feed him through the night so I can get some zzzzzzzz......

    Love to you all!!

    xoxo

    hi ladies

thought i would jump on really quickly while Cooper is having cuddles with daddy.

Nikki - yes my pelvic floor still aches to but i had a 3rd degree tear and muscle damage in my bottom lol. nothing nurofen cant help though, thank god. my bleeding also slowed almost to a stop but has come back but like you said its still not bad enough to be worried about. hope you managed to get your shopping done while you had some good kiddies.

Pretz - arent mummys the best. my mum cooked a beautiful soup for us tonight. just what i needed, and with the whether the way it is at the moment it was just the right thing for tea glad to hear Noah is feeding well. Cooper is already starting to stay awake more during the day which is nice, he was a bit boring the last few days coz all he did was eat and then sleep for hours. ive got some EBM in the fridge for tonight JIC coz im sooo tired but chances are ill wake up with engorged boobys and just wana do it myself again lol.

    hiya,

Just popping in. severly sleep deprived atm which makes me feel so light headed at times. My milk has dropped off so I will need to start expressing tomorrow to boost it back up.

Alannah slept 'maybe' 40 minutes from 11am until about 4.30pm when she finally crashed and like I said for only 40 minutes. I spent so long trying to settle her at lunch that I did not get lunch at all until about 3pm when i had some fruit cake that my gf bought over for me.

Tomorrow I am calling my CHN and DEMANDING someone comes out and does a PND test on me rather than waiting for a nurse to decide to come out. I have no idea what is going on with the little miss. Not sure if colic or silent reflux at this stage.

Some nights I try and settle her from about 8pm - midnight and just keep putting her on the boob as that is what she seems to want and she likes to fall asleep there or having cuddles. Sometimes she feeds for 20 minutes/10 mins per side and others it is 40 / 20 mins perside. Last night i fed her and then topped her up with a ff and she crashed rather quickly. Don't really wanna ff at this stage but I have to think about my state of mind at the moment as I am literally running myself into the ground. People say sleep when the baby sleeps.......yer right! Sometimes I really need to eat a meal, go to the toilet, shower and actaully spend some time with my boys who feel like strangers to me atm.

This morning she woke at 3.30am and after her feed, it took me from about 4.15am till 5am to settle her again.

I have only had my gf as a visitor since being home as I can't handle the thought of being here with someone else in the house to worry about. On Friday night i just broke down from the exhaustion and stress of it all...after screaming at Alannah to shut the f*** up. DH had to settle her and I just sat on the floor and cried. This is NOT what I imagined I would be like 3rd time round. There is other 'stuff' but i am too exhausted to try and even explain it atm. Sorry to be so neg but that is just how it is atm.

Alannah is out of size 000 Bonds Wondersuits now. Starting to fit into some other brands in size 000. I have a 0000 OshCosh jumpsuit and it is massive on her. The sizings in this country are stupid to say the least!

Yesterday I got my first real smile. Other than that she just frowns at me which is prolly all she sees me doing.

On the bright side though, my darling girl is ONE MONTH OLD TODAY!
