Brydz, ask for a S&S. They should do it. It might not do much, but its worth a try :)

Brydz, ask for a S&S. They should do it. It might not do much, but its worth a try :)
Just popping in quickly as I haven't been on for a while as I'm sooooooo tired and just don't get around to ANYTHING at the moment.... I refer to myself now as a COW as all I do and seem to have the time for is to FEED MILK to my little monkey! lol :p
Raffy - Glad to hear that you're enjoying having your Mummy over too and that she also cooks tea for you guys! Glad to hear that Cooper is staying awake more during the day too. Noah has also been awake for most of the day the past 2 days, which is nice as he is active and alert and pulls these cute, yet funny facial expressions and makes these cute little noises and sounds.
Vix - Sending you huge, huge, huge hugs honey! I agree with what Brydz said - you are an amazing Mum and you are doing an amazing job looking after your beautiful boys and beautiful little girl, however being an emotional time when you're recovering from birth, being sleep deprived and tired, whilst having to cook, clean and do all your usual chores will offcourse be hard on you physically, mentally and emotionally. I am struggling with the sleep deprivation, recovering from the birth, having constant back pain and I only have one baby to look after and have my Mum here to help me out, so I think that you're doing a truly AMAZING job honey!! I'm glad that you were able to confide in your friend that came over and I hope that the CHN was able to send someone out to you. I know I'm far away, but if you ever need anything, please know that I'm here for you and if you ever want to talk, you have my number!!
Brydz - Just move on in here and post your heart out in here. You're a part of us and it won't be long til Vinny is here. I can't wait to see your BA!!! I agree with Clover, I would ask for an S&S at your appt tomorrow too if I were you - it hurts like HELL, but you never know as it might get things started. Continuing to send you tonnes of labour vibes!! :goodluck:
Clover - Hope your first day at home with DH back at work went well! ;)
Beckles - Glad to hear from you. Sorry to hear that you are having to defend and justify yourself to friends/family re BF. It sucks, but don't let it get to you as it's your decision and your bub and whatever works for you/your baby doesn't concern them or are any of their business.
Nikki, Sparkles, Rory, Bonham, Beautitude, MrsB26 and everyone else, hello! :hello:
AFM, very tired today, haven't slept at all today as Noah has been awake for most of the day and feeding every hour and a half to 2 hours and although he is settled between feeds, I just can't seem to sleep. Have ben really emotional the last 2 days but think it's because I'm tired, have the worst lower back pain and still have pain where I tore when I stand, walk or sit for long periods of time. Looking forward to my physio appt whivh was supposed to be Wednesday but is now Friday...
Love to you all!
xxxxx
You know what - FF or BF - you are still feeding your baby girl! Good on ya for making a decision that works for you. VERY proud of you!!!
Clover - lol....MCN or disposables - you are still preventing the sh*t from hitting the fan!!! lmao. But yes, opinions everywhere hey. I think it is harder to be a Mum these days than blumin' 50 yrs ago. Back then it was only cloth, only bf, only scrbbbing floors, walls and ceilings!!! lol JK!!!
Pretz - Ouchie! Don't froget the growth spurts at 2, 4 and 6 weeks hun. I forgot about the two week one and nearly went out of my mind....well I did in fact! I think....fingers crossed we just made it through a 4 week one as she is feeding around 10pm and then goes through to Sunday morning - 3am, Monday morning - 3.30am (I think) and this morning 4.30am! Phew.
AFM: I think we are dealing with silent reflux. Yesterday I treated her as if she had it and it was sooooo much easier to settle her, even at 5.30am this morning. I think she was so hard to settle as she was in pain but will leave all my appointments with the nurse and Tresillian as they are atm.
Yesterday arvo - I left the house! Went and did the groceries with DH and DS#1. The youngest was at MIL's. Then I actaully survived dinner at MIL's house. So glad I did because it is blumin' raining today and i think we have rain for over a week. Sucky!!! Grrr. The kids drove me nuts within about 2 hrs so I print a load of print & colour pix off ABC Kids and a few other www's. Staples them together and basically told the boys I made them colouring books and no other Mummy does that! Hehehehehe!!!
Okay, off to put the shopping away that 'someone' didn't do last night because he fell asleep on the lounge whilst I spent 90 mins feeding HIS daughter!
xxxxx
BTW - Brydz - I posted in the other thread for you. I went there before I popped in her. :)
Morning All,
Vix - Nawww...thanks for saying that, you have made my day! :D
Brydz - No early morning post...hmmm...maybe your off giving birth???
Everyone else - Hello!!! hope you are all having a fab morning, enjoying your bundles, or catching some zzz's - which I prob should be doing - just riding the sleep dep wave at the moment lol.
AFM - Busy day yesterday, so having a nice quiet day with me & Madi. Spent most of last 24hrs alone together, as DP back @ wk, and then he went to see Metallica last night. Also realised that since having bubs, I have only been separated from her twice, and that was to drive & pick up take away!! I am off to see Powderfinger in a few weeks, so that will be my 1st outing with friends - minus Madi - leaving DP in charge...Can't wait! It's nice to have some ME time when we can I think...
Anyhoo have a great day
Becxo
Brydz - hope you are quiet coz something exciting is happening :D
Vix - I went out to hand in my forms at c'link yesterday & to a friends place. Feels good to get out in the fresh air, but I spend so much time stressing about feeding & changing in public places & how awkward its all going to be, that I try to avoid it. I'm fine with doing it all, but finding a place to sit etc... It was so much easier only having one at home! One that doesn't need nappies, pram, & all the extra's loaded up in the nappy bag. I'm carting a double pram around atm & its not easy dragging it in & out of the car. Think I'll just stick to quick trips, or wait til I have someone with me. I've only done this NB thing 3 times before, why I'm thinking its so much harder this time I dunno!!
Been ok with DH back at work. Finding it hard to have the energy to keep the house clean by myself though. We were up every 2 hours for boob last night, so I'm tired today, but managed to do some stuff. Well all except the kids rooms. Tempted to just take a garbage bag to DD1's room! Will have to mop their bathroom floor sometime this week too. Its so easy to avoid when I'm lucky to go in there once a day.
MCHN came out today. Got an awesome score, someone gave her some 0000 jumpsuits to give away & she gave them to me! They are mostly boys colours (4 blue, 1 black, 1 grey & 1 white), but I'll use them. She's been wearing dinosaurs to bed anyways, lol.
So, I think she must've forgotten about the head circumference measurement, but miss has apparently grown 3cm in length & put on 250 grams. So weight is right on 50 %ile, length just over. So she's not putting on a huge lot of weight, but growing fast!
Oh & she's awake... boob time.
bye girls x
FINALLY have the chance to get on here while Cooper is having cuddles with his grandma. i have seriously tried like 4 times and get half way thru a post and he will start crying for a feed lol.
soooo tired today. not really sure why though. Coops is still sleeping well, from bout 9.30-2.30 then 3/3.30-5 and 5.30-7.30 but i get up and do the first one and let DP sleep and with the second i get up and feed him (gosh i wish it was DP with the boobies sometimes) but as soon as hes fed i palm him off to DP and he burps and settles him and then we all get up at 7.30-8ish give bub a feed and give him to grandma for her morning cuddles while DP and i have a shower. tell ya what i have it pretty darn good at the moment. reality will truely set in when my mum leave on thursday and DP goes back to work on monday. im dreading it.
Cooper has started projectile vomiting. it scares the crap outta me. hes only done it 3 times. hope it stops. if it doesnt ill have to go see the GP coz it can cause damage. has anyone else had projectile vomiters?? apparently there is reflux drops you can use now before feeds and its suppose to stop it.
i left Cooper for the first time today. mum and i went and got our hair done so we were gone a few hours. i couldnt help but message DP and ask how things are goin lol even though i knew things were fine hahah silly mummy i am. i do love my hair but. i weighed myself this morning and im 6kg lighter than i was pre preg so that as well as getting my hair done im feeling good at the moment, i seriously needed it :)
sorry bout the 'me/Cooper' post. im struggling to keep up now i cant get on here all the time lol i will try harder.
anyways my boobies are engorged and sore so hopefully the lil guy wakes up soon to relieve me.
xx
Vix - Thanks for letting me know about the growth spurts at 2, 4 and 6 weeks. I didn't know.....would probably have read it in my book somewhere but haven't had the chance to do any reading since giving birth. lol :p Hope Allanah settles into a routine soon and that she gives her Mummy some well deserved sleep. Glad to hear you were able to settle her yesterday and hopefully it's not bad reflux that she's got. Awesome that you made the boys some colouring books - that's very clever and you're right, not many Mummies would do that so good on ya! ;)
Beckles - I have only been separated from Noah once now for about 10 mins and I must say it felt like the longest 10 mins of my LIFE!! I just went to get some milk and bread at the shops while my Mum stayed at home with him. I hope that you enjoy your Powderfinger concert in a few weeks and the "ME" time! ;) Once we're in a routine and my Mum goes back home to South Africa I will be leaving Noah with his Daddy too on a weekend and go do my shopping and take a bit of a time out for "ME".
Clover - I was up every 2 hours feeding Noah last night as well. He didn't feed for very long though, but it took nearly an hour to settle him and then just as I drift into a deep enough sleep, he'd wake again and I'd have to feed him again. It kills your head when you finally get about 2 hours sleep and then have to wake up again. I have been waking up with a throbbing headache every morning for the past 3 mornings... Awesome about the jumpsuits your CHN gave you and that Summer is growing well.
Raffy - Sorry to hear about Coop's projectile vomiting. Noah has had a few bouts of vomiting too, but nothing too bad and I usually end up with most of it on me and him. lol I hear ya on dreading being on your own when your DP goes back to work and your Mum going back home. It's a real help to have someone around to help out, especially being a first time Mummy. I should be ok by the time my Mum goes back to South Africa in December as Noah will be about 10 weeks by then (holy cow, that sounds scary thinking of my baby being 10 weeks then). You should post some piccies on FB of your hair and well done on weighing less than pre-pregnancy. I only have about another 3kg's to lose before I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight. ;)
Group Question - I have read that it can be normal as it's part of the recovery, but does anyone else also suffer with really bad lower back pain/tail bone pain at the moment? I guess it's normal and that it takes time for everything to heal when pushing out a baby (especially a 8pd+ baby) but my entire lower back/lower pelvis/bum/v-jay-jay is tender, sore and achy constantly and panadol and a heat pack doesn't really seem to do much anymore!! Bring on the physio on Friday!!!
AFM, I'm getting Noah weighed again tomorrow at the CHN and clinic and really hope that he is back to his birth weight or over his BW tomorrow, although at the rate he has been feeding, he should be or else I must be hallucinating that he is feeding that much!! lol
Best be off, the little man is fussing so guessing it's feed time again....have a great arvo!
xoxo
Afternoon yummy mummies.
No baby just yet. Appointment went well though. Apart from not getting out until 1230 when my appointment was for 11.. I had to go on the CTG monitor for about 15-20 minutes, during which I had 3 strong braxton hicks contractions, was kool to see them on the chart..
OBs asked if I wanna go all the way to 42 weeks and I said NO! So I am basically booked for induction for Monday :) woohoo. that's only another 6 days.
Here's hoping he comes before then all on his own anyway. She did an internal and I am 1-2cm dilated and so she performed the S & S for me. Cervix is only about 50% thinned out though, but she said bubs head is right there :) yay. Fingers crossed something will happen over the next day or two.
If nothing happens I've gotta go back to bendigo on friday (41 weeks) for an ultrasound and another CTG monitor. then sunday get the gel put on in preparation for monday.
At least I have a definite timeline now. No more than 6 days and I'll be holding my baby boy! woohoo.
sorry its such a me post but i am excited.
Pretz - I'm feeling the same. My tailbone pain has gone away, but I still have alot of pain all around there & I'm still walking funny sometimes.
I want to start walking, but I'm waiting til it all disappears, coz I have enough trouble getting through the day. & thats without doing everything I need to. My pelvis, pubic bone, back, hips & tailbone area all ache, plus all my insides feel like they wanna fall out by the end of the day, coz the muscles aren't working properly yet. Its fun, but it will go away.
Thats why they have a 6 week recovery period i guess. Coz it can take that long. After a few weeks though, you should notice it less.
I'm hoping today will be the day. At least that things start moving..
Have had braxton hicks contractions all afternoon, evening and night. Last night before bed I saw what I think was some of the plug come away, and a tiny bit more just a few moments ago.
Been getting random stabbing pains in the cervix at times too.
Hoping that a walk today in the beautiful sunshine might help speed things up.
Good luck Brydz :D
I had Summer at 40+5.
:leap::leap:Oooohhhhh so excited for you Brydz! Hope you get to read this message. My mobile is ON!!! lol Have to go out today but will post any news when I am home again. Massive hugs!!!!!!
RE: sore Tailbone. I thought it was just me having a c-section and sitting in a bed all day in hospy. NORMAL obviously. I have had it with all three babies.
Have to get organised and get myself ready so when Alannah wakes up for her next feed, I can put her in the pram and head into town - GP for a referral to a new Pediatrician and my Whooping Cough needle, then to Mediacare to claim back, then to a Parents room to top up before we head back home.
xxxxx
Brydz - Oh how exciting for ya honey!!! Soooo happy to hear that you have some news and a "date" now. I hope that things happen for you before you have to be induced on Monday, but if not, I wish you all the best and hope it all goes well with the birth. Not long now until you get to hold your little boy!! Yay!!!! :hooray:
Clover & Vix - Thanks for the info re the tailbone/pelvic/back pain. I figured it was normal and obviously like Clover said, that's why they say there's a 6 week recovery period, but I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't the only one (especially since I'm a first time Mummy who has given birth) experiencing this for this long. I have been using my heat pack non stop and still taking panadol and sent DH to get me some ibuprofen at the chemist yesterday arvo and it eases it a little but not for long, so I'm trying to just rest and take it easy when I can. ;)
:hello: to everyone else!!
AFM, took Noah to the CHN this morning and got him weighed. Was sooooooo worried that he wasn't gaining enough weight as last week he only gained a little bit, but luckily he gained 210g this past week and the CHN said that was great. He is now 3.98kg's, so nearly back to his BW and I'm happy and relieved with that. He is measuring 55cm and HC is now 36.9cm. :) CHN said that he still seems a tiny bit yellow from the jaundice, but that it looks better than last week so I'm happy with that too. Now Mummy can relax a little! lol
Hope all you Mummies are having a great day and that you're enjoying the cuddles with your bubs and are able to get some zzzzzz's - I am hoping to have some zzzzzz's soon as Noah just went to sleep! ;)
Love to you all! :heartbeat:
That is great news Pretz! Always a worry though with babies - are they eating, pooing, putting on weight, reaching milestones etc etc etc! I won't know till Friday at this stage if I will see a Nurse next week. She will be 5 weeks old then. Community Health in Western Sydney Area health is DISGUSTING!!!
Okay, was going to nap but will do housework. DH being a PITA of late...only doing half a job of the kitchen at night, snapped at me this morning coz he was running late....he did not even feed the boys this morning or make his lunch. Got dressed when he should have been walking out the door, then had breakfast and went to the bathroom again, then his teeth....I think we are either in for a massive argument......or something VERY soon! He is already beginning to grope me...ARGH! Men!
xxxxx
Vix - my DH seems to think that now he's back at work its all over. No need to help with anything anymore. He's sleeping now after I let him know that I only got about 3 hours sleep last night! He better be making up for it on the weekend...
Oh & he might not be groping me yet, but he's still asking for 'favours'... ha ha, yeah sure... when I get some sleep!
haha clover - amen to that re: getting sleep. DP is already suggesting 'favours' lol hes dreamin!!
Pretz - thats awesome that Noah is putting on weight. i to am still having pains. i woke up not last night but the night before to feed Cooper and i was in agony, then DP woke up and i asked him to go get me a heat pack i couldnt move coz it hurt so bad. so i think what your experiencing is normal :) good work on only havin 3kgs to go until you reach ur pre preg weight :) and yes 10 weeks sounds like an eternity away but unfortunately itll be here before you know it. im glad your mum is staying so long, my mum leaves tomoro. it went to quick. im not ready for her to go :( hope you manage to get some Z's while Noah is sleeping.
Brydz - sounds like your going thru the exact same thing that i went thru. and in the end Cooper came naturally the day before i was due to be induced. so im hoping the same thing happens for you. regardless you'll be holding your little man so soon. im so excited for you. cant wait to hear some news. all the best hunni. will be thinking of you xx
AFM - Cooper had his photo shoot today (pix on FB) i cant wait to see more. they are all sooooo cute. it was a little hard coz hes not a fan of being naked so i had to give him a feed and cuddle him to sleep so that he would co operate a little better haha but i love all the ones ive seen so far and cant wait to see more. we have a 'sprinkler' almost everytime his nappy is change but today was the first time he got himself in the face lol. i wish i got a photo of his face when it happened. it was priceless.
anyway once again hes starting to stir.
BBS
xx
Hi all,
Warning *ME POST*, i will ctach up on all your posts & post tomoro when i am more together again.
Had Tynan weighed again today and he has lost weight, was already giving him one FF feed a day and expressing and topping up before bedtime for the past 4 days and he has been sooo settled and happy, but he has still lost weight. Left hospital 290g lighter than birth weight, 5 days later he had put on 85g, but today had lost 50g, so only 35g heavier than when leaving hospital and still 255g lighter than birth weight & he is 3 weeks on friday!! He has at least 6-8 pooey & wet nappies a day, is happy, sleeping well, very alert & active and he has grown 2.5cm in length but is just not gaining weight.
The midwife suggested topping up with formula at least 3 times a day(which i am fine with cause i want my little man to be thriving, not starving), switch feeding (5 mins a side, for a total of 30 mins) then expressing after feeds which i have been doing anyway(even if i can't get anything just to stimulate the nipple is great!!), and we re weigh next wednesday!! I have been beside myself all afternoon & in tears as i only want whats best for Ty and i hate to think he is wasting away and this next week is going to be sooo long!! If no improvement by next week, she said we will have to re-evaluate the BF again.
I think DH is going to ring the hospital tonight, as when we were in there they said if we were ever worried about how much breastmilk he was getting to come in and weigh him before & after a feed (fully dressed so even if he wees etc it will be in nappy), so i think we may do that to try and put our minds at ease a bit or so we can about this the way we see best!!
Sorry for the rant, just upset and needed to let it out!
Hope you are all well and i will get to persies tomoro xx
Raffy - your pictures of Coop are fabulous!! sooooooo handsome! I bet your very pleased with them. i really can't wait til Vinny is here and I can get his pictures done :D
Sparkles - hello!! Sorry to hear that your feeding isn't going so well. I really hope things pick up for you this week :) Tynan is gorgeous by the way! Hope you are doing well xo
AFM - definitely had a show this afternoon! woohoo! Figure I must be getting closer now, I was really cranky this arvo because we were meant to go for our walk but mum fell asleep on the couch and I was left watching crappy daytime tv really bored! LOL. I ended up going to bed and having a 45 minute nap..
I finally went for a walk with mum at 5pm for about an hour around the cemetery. downside, we didn't find the grave we were searching for. upside, now im having some niggly sorta crampy pains on and off :) yay. fingers crossed its really the start of something!!!
I will keep you posted if anything happens during the night Vix will be the one to know :)
Go Brydz!! Come on Vinny!!!!
Cant wait to hear your BA Brydz if tonight is the night!!!
I havent been coming on here regularly enough, so starting tomorrow I am!!! So no persies from me tonight as its 6:20pm and I havent even thought about tea and both the kiddies are still asleep!! :)
Pretz - I did notice you said that Noah in the last few days has been feeding every 1.5 - 2 hrs, which is the same as Ben. I thought I was going loopy through the night feeding that often but glad to hear your little man is doing the same so it must be a growth spurt??
Got Ben weighed by the health nurse yesterday and since coming out of hospital he has put on about 700g and now weighs 4.8kg in the nakey. She asked me if I was feeding him TOO much??? AHHH no! 3 hours and only having 1 side. I then got told thats completely fine. Hmm, wasnt going to stop feeding him even if she thought I was over doing it!!
Anyhoo, got to go get dinner on. Have a good night all you mummies and GO BRYDZ, GO!!
waiting sucks.
sorry to disappoint you all. i don't think he is coming tonight, i'm back where i started, just not feeling ANYTHING happening right now.
can't sleep though. that sucks. keep waking up hot and sweaty and its not even hot in the house, usually the heaters are on or the fire is going, but they aren't.
can't believe i'm now officially 6 days overdue! he better get a move on because i'm not exactly looking forward to induction as an option. although at least I know its only 4 more days...
Nikki - nice to see you! wow Ben is doing a great job putting on weight. He must be getting a lot out of his feeds! well done :)
all your babies are gorgeous ladies. i'm sooooooooooooo jealous that you've had them for several weeks now and I'm still waiting :( feel like I don't fit into this group no more.
When they are all start walking & talking Brydz, Vinny will be right there with them, don't worry.
Nikki - I BFed DS for almost 2 years, he fed 2 hourly through the day right up to 8 months & sometimes after. It was also 2 hourly at night if he was sick or going through a growth spurt, so its very normal. BFing is very different to FF, alot of people don't realise that. It digests easier, so they need feeding more often. DS was a one side feeder too. Summer is starting to settle to one side, 2 hourly also & is starting to do longer stretches over night. Last night was 1.15 - 7.15!! She's started the cluster feeding of an arvo, which makes cooking dinner hard, but the sleep is soooo good!!
Sparkles - PHONE the ABA! Sometimes nurses, although with the best intentions don't always get it right.
Brydz - all in good time!
AFM: Could NOT settle Alannah last night until midnight. Geez Louise!! Fed her almost hourly from 7pm, even gave her a bath. She had refluz a little more than normal last night so everytime we laid her in her bed (already propped up) she would wake up after about 10 mins. I fed her a final time around 11.30pm and then DH (shock horror ;) ) got me to make her a FF and he gave it to her. She crashed within 5 mins and did not wake up till 5.30am. Pretty impressed but going to bed earlier would have been nicer. I have now been up since then and my head is spinning as I type this.
Off to the dentist tomorrow to have a molar pulled out. Oh joy!
Fingers crossed a nurse calls me tomorrow to arrange for an appointment next week. Would love to have Alannah weighed. WSAH - get your act together. GOV'T - GIve WSAH some funding! Grrrrrrr.
Time for my 3rd coffee.
xxxxx
BTW - I gave her some Brauers Stomach Calm last night. lmao. Next time I am getting DH to record her - the facials she pulls are an absolute crack up. =D
Sparkles - I was going to suggest you go into the BFing forum here & ask Barb for ideas. She's BB's own lactation consultant & is very good.
There are alot of things you can do before going to FF. CHN's are great, but they don't know as much as you think about BFing. I don't want to sound nasty, but my first 2 failed attempts at BFing I went to them for help & didn't get it. It wasn't til with DS the CHN called a LC that we worked out what was going on & sorted it out. As great as my first health nurses were, I felt so let down that they didn't go that bit further for me. Noone even mentioned an LC.
I wanna sleep!
That is all. :)
xxxxx
i miss my mum :(
morning ladies.
hoping today will be the day. have had irregular contractions all night. ranging from 7 mins to 20 mins apart. starting to increase in their intensity as time passes. I was up half the night because I couldn't sleep from discomfort (and excitement I guess). Showered at like 630am and that took the edge off it for a while and I managed to get a little more sleep. Have had 2 in 10 minutes since waking up again, just waiting to see when the next one is to time them and see if they are starting to be more regular.
If they are I might talk mum into going over to Bendigo early and hang out at my sisters for the day as I'm already booked for an u/sound at 345 this arvo and if anything is going to happen I'd rather be there relaxing than rush at the last minute.
Just a thought Brydz, contractions don't always get regular (though usually they do, just not for me the last 2 labours). So I just wanted to say that going to your sisters sounds like a great idea. Its so much easier when you can be relaxed. I'd wait til you can't talk through contractions to ring the hospital & try to hang out at home as long as possible.
If it gets too much, go in.
So excited for you hun! Don't think you'll be having that u/s today ;)
Morning Mummies!
Vix - HUGE  about DH being a PITA! My DH wouldn't dare start groping me if he knows what's good for him as that's the last thing on my mind at the moment! lol Men sometimes!! Arrgh!! Hope you hear back about seeing the Nurse next week. Hope Allanah has settled a bit better for you at night now.
Clover - Awesome to hear that Summer slept so well for you through the night the other night! I can't wait for Noah to start doing that too! I could REALLY do with some sleep for longer than 2-3 hours at a time as it seems it's the most I've been getting since he was born!!
Raffy - HUGE  for you missing your Mummy honey. I can only imagine how you feel and don't even want to think about how I will be feeling when my Mum goes home too. I don't even want to start thinking about it yet... :( Hope your pain is improving. I have been much better over the last day but still having some mild pain and discomfort, but know it is normal and will pass soon (can't wait though as it sucks when you try and walk around with bubs while in pain). Coopers photo shoot pics on FB is just GORGEOUS! I'm glad to hear that my baby isn't the only one that screams and hates his clothes being off. Noah hates it too! I still haven't gotten my photo shoot pics from the lady who took them, but should today as she said it takes about a week or so.
Sparkles - Oh honey, I know exactly how you feel as I felt the same way since last week until I got Noah weighed this week as he only gained a little bit of weight the first week we were home and I was stressed/worried/beside myself that he wasn't gaining enough weight and that he wouldn't have gained enough. I know it's hard, but remember (this is what I was told by the pediatrician when I phoned the week before as I was worried Noah wasn't drinking enough) that if your bub has 6-8 wet diapers and pooey one's that he is getting enough to drink and if he settles after feeding, then it's ok. I'm sure that he will gain more this week as he (like Noah) will have a growth spurt again soon and will make up for it. ;)
Brydz - Hope today is the day for you honey! :crossfingers: Great news on those contractions. I hope this is it! I too am very very excited for you!! Come on Vinny, we're all waiting to meet/see you and you've made your Mummy wait long enough now. lol In the meantime, rest, relax and sleep when you can for as long as you can.... hehehe ;)
Nikki - Glad to hear that Noah wasn't the only one feeding every 1.5-2 hours the last few days. I believe it definitely must be a growth spurt they're having. I don't mind him feeding that often during the day, but the nights does kill you. Wow, good on Ben for his excellent weight gain! I can't believe Noah has reached the 3 week mark and Ben is about to reach the 3 week mark already! Time sure does go by sooooooo fast! Every day is starting to feel more and more like a blur to me and I'm starting to become MORE forgetful than ever! lol
AFM, had a pretty good night last night as Noah went to sleep around 8pm and didn't wake for his feed until 1:45am, so I got about 3 hours sleep uninterupted! Yay!!! He then slept again from about 3:00am til 5:00am when the alarm went off for DH to go to work and Noah woke up. Have been up since then and he is asleep now, but due for a feed in about 5 mins as I have to get him ready and get going as I have my physio appt with the physio at the hospital this morning and afterwards we're going to Births, Deaths and Marriages so I can hand in his Birth Certificate Application and things.
Hope you all have a great day!
xoxo
Morning,
Brydz- how exciting, you will be holding your little man in no time!!
Thanks for the advice, i posted in the BFing forum as well. To keep my & DH's sanity we have been topping up with formula & Ty is a different baby, he is soooo content and sleeps really well during the day & night, he will BF for 30-40 mins(mostly sleeping in this time, as he does!!), then top up of formula while i am expressing, not getting much but at least stimulating, then play for about 30 mins then self settle for a 2 hour sleep! Don't know where we are really going with this but going to call the hospital in the next few days and get some advice and a number for a LC as to whether my supply is low, my let down is slow or ty is just lazt etc etc. The thing is since his first feed while i was in recovery he has latched on GREAT, i think he is just lazy and finds comfort in lying on the boob, we have tried stripping him off, the switch feeding, a cool damp washer, tickling his feet etc but he just loves snozing on there and i worry that since he has done this since birth my supply probably isn't great cause he hardly gets any milk. DH went and bought some digital kitchen scales and we have been weighing him before & after feeds and he looks to be getting only about 30mls of breast milk, we then did it before & after formula to check accuracy and spot on to the ml he drank he put on in grams. Also weighed my EBM, as breast milk is slighter lighter than a ml to a gram. So of course now i feel bad, if that is all he has been getting since birth, the poor boy!! This morning though, he seemed to get about 40ml and then i was able to express about 40ml, all soo confusing. I love BFing him, but in the end i just want him to be happy & healthy!!
I have ended up doing a ME post again, i am thinking of you all & your bubs, just got alot going on in my mind at the moment & need to get it out...sorry!!!
xx
Sparkles - you are doing a brilliant job. BF is not an easy task to learn for you and Tynan. I have been drink Ferugreek Tea (once a day) and yesterday I could feel a massive improvement in my boobs, they seem fuller all the time now and the poor little miss for the first time choked on my letdown and then was showered in it! This stuff seriously works and it might just make life easier for you to hun. If you like, I can find out where my gf bought my box from and let you know - pretty sure she bought it online. There are also tablets you can buy but I don't know anything about them. I have not been expressing at all so this tea really does work. I also know from alot of experience that stressing about bf is not very good for your supply - any stress infact....try and relax matey. MASSIVE hugs - keep going. The FF are great too as it gives you a little room for flexibility. I did not give Alannah one last night and she slept from 8pm - 3am as obviously my last feed satisfied her.
AFM: Dentist today to have a molar yanked out!
Love ya'll,
xxxxx
BTW: CHN phoned and wanted to see me next Wednesday - cant do it as I have my 6 week check up with my OBGYN.....which is sad as it is the last time I will see her :( So have to wait to see her on Friday. Alannah will be almost 6 weeks by then. What a JOKE! :X
Sparkles - I have something for you. Just need your mailing address love. xxxxx
awww Coops just woke up in his portacot and cried so i picked him up and all he wanted was a cuddle coz now hes fast asleep on my chest. hes such a smoocher.
Brydz - good luck babe, will be stalking for some news :) really excited for you and i hope its soon. thinkin of ya xx
Pretz - dont think bout ur mum going home! u still have ages. enjoy it while you can :) im going home december 11th for roughly a month so its only bout 6 weeks till i see her again :)
AFM - im having the opposite problem with breastfeeding, i have WAY to much milk. im finding that if cooper has a long nap i want/need to express some so i dont feel so huge and sore. and i also express for when we go out (like tonight we r going out to dinner, so i expressed while cooper was sleeping) and i filled a 260ml bottle in bout 7 minutes :o not to mention the amount of breast pads and shirts im going through because of all the leaking. i think this could have something to do with y cooper is projectile vomiting as well, coz i watch how much and how fast it comes out into the pump if thats whats going into him i would be vomiting as well, poor lil guy, but its making it hard to judge how much hes having nd how much is to much!
Raffy - your milk will settle. You always do get a crap load with your first. It took a few weeks to settle in to feeds, & about 4 months to settle completely with DS, so that I wasn't huge every time he skipped a feed. It will feel better soon x
thanks clover :)
WOW raffy! 260mls is huge!! I agree with Clover, your boobs will settle over the next week or so. Breastfeeding is just so unpredictable huh!! Your boobs will finally sort themselves out and then Cooper will go through a growth spurt and change his feeding pattern and then you'll be all over the shop again. It really does take a good couple of months to get it all sorted. Glad to hear you are going home in December. THat will be nice for you to see your mum and family again. The time will be here before you know it
Brydz - I hope you are in labour and well on your way to meeting little Vinny!! I CANT WAIT to hear your BA!!!
Vix - Hope your trip to the dentist wasnt too painful!! WOw, that tea sounds amazing. Dont think I need any atm but its always helpful to know that there is some things out there to help with BF.
Sparkles - Sorry to hear you are feeling stressed about BF, and dont worry about doing a ME post. Everyone on here understands and feels pushed for time etc, and need to get things of their mind, so dont apologise. I dont have any advice to offer sorry as Ben is just a guts, but wanted to send you massive hugs  :comfort:
Pretz - I KNOW about time going by so fast. I feel like I only just get up in the morning and its time for bed again. There just isnt enough time in the day. I cant believe our boys are at the 3 week mark already. Its truly amazing and I have forgotten already what it is like to be pregnant :(
Clover - you certainly did have a good sleep with Summer going from 1.15 - 7:15am!! That is truly awesome!!
AFM - YAWN ... SO tired. I honestly and truly forgot what its like having a newborn. Even though Ben feeds then goes straight back to sleep, the broken sleep every 2 - 3 hours is amazing. I am absolutely knackered by this time of the day ... Might go watch some TV actually while both kiddies are sleeping ... Have a good night everyone and see you tomorrow with even bigger bags under my eyes haha
JUst popping in.
Alannah woke up at 4.30am this morning but I stayed in bed for 15 mins until she got abit more grumpy! She does not really cry out when she wakes up but makes a noise which basically means "get up Mum, I am hungry!" Then for the life of me I could not settle her until after 6am! She wasn't crying or anything, just unsettled which I put down to reflux. Wish next Friday would hurry up so I can be told if she is reflux-y or not. Anyways, then I had to type up DH's assignment which was due today so I told him to keep the boys away from me and to make me breakfast - a cooked breakfast! lol Nearly lunch time and I am darn tired now.
27 degrees here atm, should get to 30 degrees soon. Muggy! I dare say we will have another storm this arvo.
Nikki- tooth out! From the time they started numbing my gums to me getting out of the chair was about 10 mins and a cool $200. Thank goodness for health insurance.
Pretz - Hope you manage some sleep today!
Raffy - Liquid gold! I refuse to express this time as it mucked me around so much last time and I had a Forceful Letdown which in turn caused a few problems with Noah. Besides, I don't have time to express most days.
Clover - I topped Alannah up with a FF last night (60ml) after a BF and she crashed just after 10pm until 4.30am. Sleep does wonderful things for a sleep dep Mummy!!! I found my sense of humour and patience today, even with an overtired 2 yr old who chucked about 6 tanties this morning.
Okay, need to brush my teeth before it is midday, lol
xxxxx
Sparkles - I got your addy. Thanks. I can't reply directly to your message as your mail box is chockers! lol
Will mail your surprise his weekend.
