YAY Brydz! Well Done, Congratulations & Welcome to the outside Vincent. How Exciting!! WOO HOO:leap::happyforyou::hooray:
Congratulations Brydz and welcome to the world Vinny!!! :hooray:
Soooooooo happy that he finally made his appearance honey. Enjoy your very own newborn cuddles and looking forward to seeing some photos of him!! ;)
Okay, Vinnie was 8 pounds 5 ounces....some of you may have seen that on FB already.
AFM: Alannah slept from about 9.30pm - 6am this morning. Shhhhh, lets hope this is just the beginning!"
*normal voice* For the first time EVER, Alannah pulled off the second side with that 'drunk look' babies get when super full. She has never done that after a BF before! She looks drunk after a FF but never a BF. Even DH commented. The boys always looked drunk afterwards....so prehaps my milk isn't what it used to be.....???? Happy & sad moment!
xxxxx
DS used to be like that Vix. He slept, then fed, then was awake for an hour, then slept again. He had BF when he woke up instead of putting him to sleep.
I wouldn't worry too much. Long as she's gaining weight & has wet & dirty nappies :)
Gawd there are some CRAPPY tickers out there. Just spent 2 hours playing around with them. I liked a few but they only counted down to her birthday and did not show her current age. Then, the ones like what I now have, look crap but have the info I want on them! Can't win.:wall:
Morning ladies,
Sorry for the "me" post but I'm an emotional mess today....... :crying:
Noah was really unsettled through the night on Friday night and yesterday morning and hardly slept, which meant I didn't sleep. DH finally got him to sleep yesterday arvo at around 2:30pm and he slept until just before 6:00pm when we arrived at friends for dinner, then woke, had a feed and slept again until we got home at 10:30pm, he then fed, but wouldn't settle until after 1:00am only to wake again at 4:00am and the same thing happened and he wouldn't settle until after 7:00am this morning (my Mum got him to sleep thankfully). I was in tears a few times through the night as I felt like he hates me as he just screams and won't settle after feeding him, changing him, trying to cuddle him, rocking him etc, but then my Mum sometimes takes him and he calms down a bit, then I take him again and he screams.... :( My Mum keeps saying I should just stay calm and don't stress because he will feel it, but it's hard as I don't like my baby screaming and crying. To make things even more emotional, my MIL phoned DH last night to say that she heard his grandmother in Holland passed away on Thursday night and then just after 8:00am we got a call from my Dad in South Africa saying that my grandmother passed away last night! :crying:
It's really not been a good 48 hours for me, especially being emotional and sleep deprived....
Sorry for the me post girls.....will be back later to do persies.....must go have a shower now I think before my little monkey wakes up again... :heartbeat:
PS: Vix - I know what you mean bout Tickers, it's hard to find one you like, although I reckon yours looks great! ;)
WELCOME TO THE WORLD VINCENT and congrats to new mummy Brydz!! :happyforyou:
Vix - I love that milk drunk look. So cute. AWESOME on Alannah sleeping from 9:30pm to 6am. Can I please get a piece of that!!!! Sleep sounds most devine!
Pretz - HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE hugs being sent your way love  I am so sorry to hear of both yours and DH's grandmothers passing away. That is utterly devastating. Terrible news. Dont think for one second that Noah hates you ~ I can guarantee you are the one he most wants to be comforted by ... sometimes it just takes a change of hands and a slightly different approach and he will be asleep. One time you will get it right, another time your DH will, another time your mum will. Babies are so unpredictable. You are doing a wonderful job as a Mummy so dont think otherwise. He is thriving so you must be doing something right. Love to you hun and I hope today is a better day for you :comfort:
Hi all,
Yay to BYRDZ!!! Congrats hun.
Pretz - big, big hugs to, i am having a really trying 48 hours to!!!
Hi to everyone else.
AFM - If its not one thing its another, doing formula top ups cause Ty is just soooo hungry and needs it, thurs & friday he was soooo settled etc. But as of friday arvo he has started vomiting after feeds, i thought it was the formula but he is doing it with the EBM as well, and it seems to be getting worse ie. more coming up after each feed, he will continually chuck up various amounts for an hour or so after his feed, which is then affecting his sleep. We have tried keeping him upright after feeds but now he is just chucking while upright!!! and he is screaming(as if in pain) and will not sleep....i am thinking reflux??? i don't know, i am in tears as i hate to see my little man so unsettled and i cannot help him, it's starting to worry me!! Live in a small town so can't go see a dr either, only thing i could do is go to hospital emergency (40 mins away), maybe i could call the maternity ward and ask them....mmmmmmm, hard to know what to do!! Otherwise i can leave it to tomoro and go see a dr or call the community nurse!!! will talk to DH once he gets back in mobile range and sort out a plan of action!! Anyone here dealt with this/or reflux???
*Heading over to reflux threads*
Pretz - HUUUUUUUUGE hugs and sympanthy for you and your families. What a tough week honey. As for Noah hating you - NEVER! I know it blumin' feels like it at the time as only last week I felt like Alannah was being hard to settle just to annoy me. Your Mum is right in saying for you to remain calm and it is hard to do it. Don't ask me how you stay calm.....several times last week i screamed at Alannah to 'shut the firetruck up'......nice Mum arn't I???? This is why Sleep Deprivation has been used as a form of torture for hundreds of years. Have you tried topping him up with another feed or a nice deep warm bath...for him although it might do you a world of good too?! If you need an ear...i'm here, only a call away or a text. Also, have you got a rocker or swing you can put Noah in that will rock him? We were given a swing (2nd hand) by DH's cousin and it plays music although it sounds like onhold music but it swings and sends her to sleep. I also have lullaby music that is played everytime she is put into bed. My boys still listen to the same CD at bedtime and during day naps. They are actually so accustomed to it that they will sleep until it stops playing! Love the repeat button! lol Oh...sometimes foods you eat give them belly pains. I can't eat onions at all but unlike some Mums I can eat all the choccy or drink all the coffee in the world and my kids have been fine.
Sparkles - kinda sounds like reflux to me. Does he arch his back??? Does he sounds snotty? I know they are two things i picked up last week after visitng the Tresillian website. I thought Alannah was getting a cold but it is her reflux. She does not cry but was very unsettled for many hours. Try visitng the Tresillian website or the Karitane (sp) website - the numbers will be on the back of your blue book. Def phone your CHN tomorrow, NO question is every a silly question....esp when it comes to babies and children.
AFM: Alannah is 5 weeks old today. I feel like she is so much older than all the other babies and i kinda feel abit 'out' of this group but don't want to leave. I know in 2 yrs time age won't matter though just at the moment I feel like Alannah has nothing in common. *sigh* Happy to hang around though.
I hope my advice helps some of you out too. Not trying to big note myself, just 'paying it forward'.
Just wanted to see how Pretz and Sparkles went overnight.
xxxxx
Thanks Vix, Nikki and Sparkles for the 's really appreciate it heaps for your lovely, caring and kind thoughts. Thanks for being there and for always lending an ear to listen and to help reassure my mind.'s back at ya!! I had a much better night with Noah. He slept really well and settled real easy after feeding every 4-4 & 1/2 hours through the night and although he was awake from about 5am this morning (and just went to sleep) he was very content and happy. Happy baby = extremely happy Mummy! hehe  I was able to have 2x 3 hour sleeps through the night after Noah fed and went to sleep.
Sparkles - BIG 's for you too honey. It is very worrying when your baby is unsettled and crying for long periods of time. I feel like I can't think when Noah screams and cries for long and I guess what makes it hard is being a first time Mum and not knowing what to do or to expect and it can be very overwhelming, especially when you're tired and sleep deprived. I hope that Ty is doing better and that you had a better night last night. I too would recommend that you phone the CHN today (if you haven't already) to see what they say. Thinking of you honey and remember, you're doing a great job!
AFM, my back is killing me this morning and have been popping panadols, but it's still not doing much. My physio appt last Friday went well and was told that my muscles have come back together really well (no more 6cm muscle separation), however my back muscles are in spasm and a bit of a mess due to the labour and heavy baby I carried but with time, some exercise (which I don't know where I'll find the time or energy from at the moment) and some more physio it should get better. ;)
Off to have a shower and then a sleep while Noah is asleep and going to go some grocery shopping this arvo once I feel a bit more refreshed. For those of you that don't know yet, my friend Eng had her little boy yesterday morning! Sooooooo excited and hoping to pop over to the hossy to see her and for Noah (and myself) to meet his new little friend! :D
Hope you all have a great day!
Love to you all!!
xoxox
Hi guys :)
Sparkles & Pretz - guys. Things will get better.
We're having a hard time today. Poor Summer is full of mucus. Having trouble breathing & feeding, & spewing it up & choking on it. Not fun :(
I slept most of the night with her on her belly on my chest, or on her side beside me. Finding that putting her on her belly over my knee or something to try getting the mucus up makes it harder for her. It all runs into her nose & makes things worse. She's been on her side with terry flats under her all morning & I'm too scared to leave the room in case she starts choking.
DS is being a PITA lately too. Jelousy is starting. Wanting me to do things for him, but only when I'm feeding her. Yelling & getting louder when I ask him to shoosh. Saying swear words just for the attention. Anything he can possibly do to make things hard really.
Horrible rainy day here today. Suits how i feel with my sleepless headache. I can see blue though, so hopefully the sun will come out & give me some motivation.
Feeling a bit alone in the town atm. I'm probably the only one sitting at home TBH. One of the young boys (about 22/23) hung himself here last week :( Such a horrible shock. Happened in my street, just 2 doors down from a good friends place. Being such a small town (a few hundred people), everyone knew him, so they are all off to his funeral this morning. My sister went out with him for a while, but I didn't know him that well.
The weather kinda fits the sad day it is here.
Anyway. Hope everyone else is well :)
Hopefully things will be better next time I post :)
Oh Clover - how very sad. Man he RIP now. Have you tried Saline nose drops? When my DS#2 was 2 weeks old he caught a really bad cold and I would clear his nose several times a day / night esp just before a feed. I also propped up his cot too so it all ran down and did not clog up his head anymore than it already did. Hope she gets better superduper fast! *hugs*
Pretz - You sound so much chirpier today even though you are going through an emotional time. Good to hear little Noah is catching up on his own sleep so you an get some for yourself.
AFM: Off to start waking up the little miss.
xxxxx
hi everyone,
had to do a bit of catching up coz i didnt come on here yesterday, DP and i spent all day in bed with Cooper just pigging out and playing a new game we bought for the nintendo DS. it was a nice way to spend DPs last day at home before he went back to work today.
Pretz - humungous hugs hunni. im soo sorry for yours and DHs losses. my thoughts are with you and your families, im so glad that Noah slept better for you last night. Cooper had a 'bad' night last night. however his bad isnt that bad, he still sleeps for 3-4 hours he just wouldnt settle. and DP was getting extremely frustrated with him which made it worse, so im a strong believer in the 'staying calm' theory, coz as soon as i took him and laid down and relaxed he was fine. i hope Noah continues to behave for you. and Congrats to Eng and you and Noah getting a new lil friend yay.
Vix - please dont leave us!! you help me out heaps without even knowing you do. for example i didnt know that arching the back and sounding snotting could mean reflux. coz Cooper does that and it makes a lot of sense. see??? please stay. Cooper gets the drunk look all the time!! it cracks me up. so weird coz i put a pic of his drunk look on fb and then came on here and you had mentioned it haha
Clover - sorry to hear about your towns loss. i to am from a small town so i know how it is when someone dies. pretty awful stuff. also sorry to hear that DS's jealously side is kicking in. im sure that makes things alot harder. hope it doesnt last to long and he realises you love him just a much as Summer and your other girls to
AFM - DP went back to work today but hes on night shift so didnt leave til 330 so it wasnt so bad. but im at home alone with Cooper now and already finding things like the time to got to the toilet alot harder. luckily i was prepared and cooked dinner while DP was here to entertain Cooper or i think i would be going hungry lol. bub didnt want to settle last night. was a little frustrating due to the increasing sleep dep. but he slept from bout 9-12 this morning after his first shower (which he loved a hell of a lot more than his baths) and that gave DP and i a good chance to catch up on some Zs :) anyways i hope this post makes sense coz im doin it one handed with Coops is on the boob haha yay for multi-tasking!! hes just come off and has a major drunk look happening so i might burp him, change his bum and hopefully he goes down so i can hand out my load of washing.
PS - im findin that cooper settles well when ur holdin him and will stay asleep no matter what u do if ur holding him, but as soon as you put him down in the bassinette or portacot, unless hes in an extremeley deep sleep, he will toss and turn and wake himself up. does anyone elses bub do this?? as much as i looooove holding him, its a PITA at 4 in the morning or when i have things to do.
HELLO MY LOVELY GIRLIES!
woohoo. i am finally a mummy in the group now. Vinny is an absolute pleasure I love him to bits.
Anyway just popping in to say hi, most of you have seen/read things on facebook but I promise I'll be back tomorrow perhaps to post about the birth etc.
J's family (well his mum anyway) have been an absolute friggin nightmare.
I am soooooooooo stressed, and drained, and tired and over it all. Not how I wanted to spend my first few days as a mummy.
Glad to be out of the hospital though, am staying at my mums for tonight. Expressed some colostrum into syringe for her to do one feed so i can get a reasonable sleep during the first part of the night at least.
love to all of you and bootiful baboos :) xo
Just a quickie as Im going to lay down before going out for tea ... am absolutely shattered. Ben has been feeding every 1.5hrs today since 3am! Zzzzzz all i want is some zzzzz's. He feeds and then goes straight back to sleep, but seriously, how can he be so hungry haha I read breastmilk digests in around 45 minutes. What good is that lol
Pretz glad to see you had a fantastic day and that things are going better. And congrats to Eng!!! Going to find her BA or pop into the other thread and offer my congrats!
Brydz - hugs to you for J's nightmarish family. Hope things improve.
Hello to everyone else, was going to write more but surprise surprise Ben wants the milk machine :)
If anyone wants anything else added to the list (information wise) on the front page, let me know and I will update it!!
Thanks Nikki. I have attempted to do my best to make contact with J directly again over it all and encourage him to talk to me without them involving their opinions. If he isn't interested or there is any sign of trouble I'll be leaving him off the birth certificate and staying well clear of the whole family. Hopefully things will blow over and we can move forward. He was fantastic when he came to meet Vinny, seemed sooooooooooooo proud and ecstatic to be a daddy. His mother has been absolutely horrendous though. Some of the things that come out of that womans mouth. WOW! I'll fill in more about it later. As for now I'm heading over to the other section to type up a birth story :)
 Brydz. I hope for their own sake they back off!
First night out of hospital was good. I slept from 8-11. Fed bub, changed him, put him back to bed at 12. Couldn't sleep because I really really wanted to come on to type my birth story among other things haha. Got up and came online. Tried to sleep again, fed bubs at 3am, had to hand express and use a syringe because for some reason he just would NOT latch on the right side and the left side was all out from earlier.. It took about half an hour. Tried to put him back down but he hadn't drank enough, so attempted to feed again and he finally latched on the right and fed for just 10 mins. By 4am we were back in bed again and he is still asleep :)
I think it was either the change in taste/my milk starting to come in or a blocked duct? that was stopping him from giving it a real go, my right boob was lumpy and sore and hard but after the 10 min feed it went back to being like the other one..
about J's mum:
Some of the things she did and said.
*arrived at hospital just before bub was born, mum went out and told them when he had arrived. then i am being stitched and I can hear her outside the delivery room door demanding that bubs comes out in a crib to a separate room for them to meet him 'as we agreed upon'. WTF? I never in my life agreed to that. The agreement was J get to hold Vinny after whoever is in the delivery room, before anyone else. And he did. Only mum and I held him before J did.
*made a point of saying that the baby looks ENTIRELY like me and 'oh he is nothing like you J' in quite sarcastic tone
*text me sunday to say that J would not be coming by himself outside visiting hours (he technically had to be support/partner to be allowed, but i was kind enough to offer) to spend time with bub and help with his first bath. Instead he wanted to have half an hour 'alone time' with his family during visiting hours to meet the baby properly.
*suggested we 'alternate' visiting hours so that their family could have time with him, and mine separately. um....... NO!
*and when I said that I had a lot of people coming during both lots of visiting hours, and was only going to be in til the next day so there probably wouldn't be any time, i get a reply from her phone (claiming to be J himself) stating and I quote word for word "I'm very disappointed that you would book both lots of visiting hours"
WTF??????????????? I wrote back saying that they are times for people to visit me, the patient, and the baby and I can't exactly dictate when people choose to come, that I'd speak to my midwife about arranging a possible meeting time for him and them in the morning (i knew i wouldn't have time being discharged at 11am).
So then I just didn't tell them what was happening and relaxed in hospital til I went home. Then J messaged me (from her phone - still don't have direct contact with him) asking what were the plans for today and I said sorry my phone had been flat, that I was home now and needing a bit of recovery time and would contact him again shortly. I sent him a long email via facebook (because I know it will get to him directly without his mum) and am hoping that things will be alright.
He was like I said ecstatic about the baby, he seemed so proud, although she was basically trying to say it wasn't his..
I think I'd be ignoring her Brydz. Having nothing to do with her. Stick to contact with him & only him. Vinny is his child, not hers.
Maybe consider court ordered visitation rights too. That way she can't do anything different. I know its way too soon for you to want to think about all this stuff, but you might have to.
Oh Brydz - no way do you deserve this in your first week or at anytime. I can hear restraining orders coming for the silly woman! lol I would continue to contact J via FB, atleast you know it will go to him directly.
With BF....I have two diff nipples and at first Alannah actually had her fav side and it would take a special care nurse and myself to get her to latch on. It wasn't coz she couldn't, she was being lazy / stubborn! After a few days she was happy to take both sides once my milk was in properly. Expressing is great to bring your milk in. You'll suiddenly look in the mirror and see Pammy Anderson! JK
Raffy - Will stay. Just feel.....I don't know.....I will stay though. Thanks.
AFM: just popped in quickly. Am buying that sling you mnetioned on FB Brydz! Love the price and the custom made service!!!
Off for some shut eye before the Impossible Princess wakes again. Fed 4 times from 4.30am - 9.30am.....a FF kept crossing my mind I tell you what! Little monkey.
xxxxx
Thanks guys.
I rang J himself on the home phone earlier. I told him that I'd sent the facebook message because I had a lot to write and it was too much for text. I said we need to catch up about the DNA test and stuff (because I REALLY need to get that ball rolling in order to apply for centrelink stuff etc.) and he says thurs or friday is fine. He seemed very friendly, relaxed and glad to hear from me. I was glad to ring during the day because the devil woman would have been at work LOL.
He said the cutest thing, he asked if I could do a favour and bring Vinny with me! hahahaha. I was like, ....ah no, I think i'll just leave him home by himself LOL.
Vinny has been an angel today. Slept most of the day. Due for a feed in about an hour or so. Had the dom nurse visit me at home today. She was an absolute cow. Treated me like I was effing retarded. Why would she need to ask such ridiculous questions like 'what would you do if vinny gets sick' and i was like 'take him to a dr', how would you know if he was sick? well i'm a freaking nurse what do you think....
I seriously wanted to slap her. And she was opinionated about dummies and things.. And she was meant to check my stitches, and feel my tummy and did neither. Weird, strange, not very nice lady.
:hello:
Brydz - keep up the good work. contacting J like you are, knowing his mum wont be around sounds like the best thing to do. cant believe how much of a mole shes being. im super duper happy that J is happy though. and its awesome that Vinny is being a good boy for you. i hope for your sake he stays that way. Cooper is turning into a monster :wall: cant wait to read ur birth story. i should stop being lazy and do mine to :)
AFM - we went to the clinic today and Cooper has put on 800g and grown 2.5cm haha my lil budha :) he is being a PITA but. last night he just didnt want to be put down. he stayed awake til bout 3.30 and if i even moved to put him in the bassinette he would wake up and scream. he ended up sleeping on my chest coz that was the only way we were both gonna get some sleep. so today ive been feeding him, giving him a burp and a cuddle and then putting him in the portacot or bassinette instead of holding him til he wakes again. most of the time he wakes up when we lay him down and has a little whinge but he has soothed himself back to sleep after a while. so fingers crossed thats how it goes tonight. i dont mind waking during the night but its the fact that he sleeps on my chest and im stricted with movement. does my head in lol
anyways thats my rant for today
might go do my birth story, Brydz inspired me
xx
HI,
I promise to pop in in the morning & update and say hi, doing well Ty seems alot more settled again, no excessive vomits and he actually enjoyed his bath this afternoon...YAY!!! Going to nurse at 11.30 tomoro to get weighed!! Trying to get dinner cooked and eaten before the little man wakes!
oops double post.
Thanks Raffy. He has been a really good boy today. Feeding a bit more frequently since my milk is coming in.. But its not too bad. Just had his first at home bath, enjoyed it for a little while then squawked his head off hehehe. I just put new clothes on him and fed him and then he spewed, out his nose and all everywhere LOL. Gone to bed about 10 minutes ago and haven't heard a peep. I'm just checking emails and then I'm going to join him.
Tomorrow I have my first busy day. Got my sister and niece visiting, my best friend too, then out to lawyer at 2pm and dr at 3pm and back home to see my best friend again and 2 other really close friends.
And i have an absolute mountain of washing to do, cos I couldn't be assed doing it today.
Hi all - just found this thread :)
Must be quick cause I am ignoring the boys while they watch "Poko" :) Rose is feeding while I type (I love the "My Brest Friend" pillow - I can type to handed AND feed at the same time :)
All is well here - we are going camping over the weekend so looking forward to some time away. Hope you all are settling in :)
I have one of those Rory... maybe I should start using it again...
Morning!
Brydz - They sound like standard questions as some people have no idea what to do at all. It was nothing at you personally but more than likley part of her job. When I had my first they actually looked in Baileys room to see the cot, bedding etc and at the next visit (because DH was not there this time) asked me about domestic violence. Don't take it personally hun. Not sure about the stitches etc but with the dummies, I think they base it on their own beliefs. My S-Mum makes comments about my kids using dummies...she is an RN too. Try not to take it personally. One thing I have learn't since becoming a Mummy is 'my baby, my way'. J sounds like he will be a great Daddy!
Raffy - WTG Cooper!!! I MADE Alannah self settle at 6am this morning because I could hear the boys waking up anyway. My SIL made the comment that day time was the best time to do it....never actually thought about that, just got sick and tired of going in every 2 mins. That is my plan of attack for today so hopefully by tonight she will get some idea about me not racing in every 2 mins coz sometimes I just gotta PEE!!!! lmao
Sparkles - all the best today. Damn DH did not mail your surprise till Monday! I hope you get it today or tomorrow!!!
Rory - Camping!!?? OMG!! I have trouble just getting out of the house to get the blumin' mail! lol Have fun.
Clover - I used a Hot Milk pillow but stopped about 2 weeks ago. It was great whilst I was still sore form my c-section. I know just sit cross legged on the lounge with a small pillow under her / to rest my arm on.
AFM: :cry::cry: Just had my 6 weeks check up with my OBGYN. My last ever appointment with her. Was at 10am and I still feel like crying. She gave me a great big hug and said it was the end of an era. 2005 - 2010! I ment to get a thnaks card but forgot when i was at the shops the other day. Will do it this week plus a photo of the kids when they were born and now. Had my pap smear and got a referral for a BT for my thyroid but the results go to my GP. I was kinda hoping I would see bernie again...but no. I have been dreading this day since 1/2 way through my pregnancy. Feel like I have lost a BF.:cry: I think I feel sad too knowing I won't be feeling little kicks in my belly ever again. I know I don't want more kids but knowing I can't is worse. Make sense? *sigh*
Hanging out for Friday so Alannah can finally see a CHN! She will be 6 weeks on the weekend! Friggin' joke!
Okay, off to phone my GF and sook to her. lol
:grouphug::grouphug:
Without you ladies, my life would be dull.
xxxxx
Finally caught up on all the posts - sorry for my slack responses but luckily you all know how busy having a little one(s) can be! lol
Sparkles - Hope all goes well when you get Ty weighed today. I'm sure he has gained more weight this week and I hope it helps ease your mind a little!
Vix - Don't feel left out in this group and don't you dare leave this group! I'll be coming to find you and chase you back here!! lol Just remember that there's only 11 days in age between Allanah and Noah and that's not a lot. You are a gem and you are amazing at helping ease us first time Mummies' minds and helping us out with advice. I for one really, really appreciate it more than you will EVER know!! Feeling much better after my emotional wreck day on Sunday and Noah is sleeping/settling much better now! Yay!! I'm sorry that you're feeling sad about not seeing your OB anymore. I felt sad too that I wouldn't be seeing my OB's as regularly anymore and after my 6 weeks check up in 3 weeks it'll be a while before I see them again (until baby #2 - oh wow, I can't believe I'm already talking baby #2! :o) lol
Nikki - Hope you were able to catch up on some sleep by now and that Ben isn't still feeding every 1.5 hours. Hope you're doing ok and remember if you ever want to talk/chat/vent about ANYTHING I'm here for you and you have my no!
Clover - Sorry to hear about that young guy! Hope Summer is doing better now with her mucus and that she's breathing and feeding better.
Raffy - Hope that you have been able to settle Coop a bit better by now. I have the same thing with Noah. He doesn't like you putting him in his bassinet as he'll wake up and scream until you cuddle him and he'll fall asleep, but the last day or so has been much better thankfully. I too LOVE the drunken look they have once they've fed and fallen asleep. lol Too cute!! Yay on Coop's 800g weight gain thats excellent!!!
Brydz - Officially welcome to our thread as a Mummy, I'm soooo glad Vinny finally made his appearance and he's a real little spunk! I'm sorry about J's family being a nightmare and about them putting stress on you that you don't need. I would have to agree with the other girls that J is Vinny's father and that J's mother should get lost. She doesn't have any say about Vinny and that should be that! I can't believe the things she said and would ignore her completely. Stick to messaging J on FB and that way she can't interfere. Hope you are settling in nicely at home with your little man.
Rory - Wow, camping!? Enjoy hope you guys have a blast!!
Group Question - Is anyone still bleeding/spotting? I know it can be normal to last for up to 6 weeks and sometimes even longer, but I'm OVER the bleeding/spotting now. Some days it's just spotting, other days it's more red bleeding again. I feel like I've been horseback riding for weeks now and having to wear a pad down there all the time is starting to kill me!! I am wanting the 9 months back without having bleeding/periods and no pads!! lol Starting to think that one of my stitches didn't disolve properly either as I feel a little lump and it's still a bit tender in that spot....guess I'll find out when I see my OB.
To everyone - Thanks for your sweet and kind thoughts - really appreciate it heaps. Am doing better now and although Mum and I are still very sad about my Nan, we're trying to remember all the good thing about her. Funeral is on Friday, but unfortunately neither Mum or I will be able to go, obviously because the funeral is in South Africa and I wouldn't want to fly with Noah at this stage and Mum said that if she went back she probably couldn't come back again (being expensive and all) and that it's only for a day, so we're (me and Mum) going to plant a Jacaranda tree (my Nan LOVED Jacaranda's) for her on Friday here in our yard. :)
AFM, I feel like a new woman this morning as Noah slept from midnight until 5:30am this morning and I got about 5 hours straight sleep!! Wow, it's amazing how good that can feel! lol That's the first big sleep for me for that long since Noah was born! lol Went to get Noah weighed this morning at the CHN and he gained 230g which is fantastic according to the CHN and he is now over his birth weight! Yay!!!!!! :) Very happy and relaxed Mummy over here!! I can't believe my little man will be 4 WEEKS old tomorrow! Holy cow, where has the last month/4 weeks gone!!!???
Well then, best be off to get some lunch before my monkey wakes up again. Can't believe I was actually able to type all this without him crying as whenever I try to get on the PC lately he screams.....he doesn't like me sharing my attention with much other than him! lol
Love to you all!!

Thanks Pretz for your kind words. I worry that it may come across as I am a know it all. I guess it is just advice I wish my mum could have passed onto me....oh well!
Re: Group Question. Alannah is 5.5weeks old now and I am still spotting every couple of days but only wear panty liners now and just change them as often as required. The full size pads and before that the maternity ones drove me nuts and after a while I found them rubbing on the inside of my legs.
Blahhhhhh, she just woke up! Anyways, looks like a storm brewing outside. so black over there <----- lol

Hello,
Finally have a minute to pop on here, between being a mum and still trying to do all our bookwork & who knows why i did not do the BAS for our company & partnership before Ty was born....silly me!! But all done now..YAY!!!
So.....had the weigh in, and he has put on 330g in a week. The CHN was so happy and i think absolutely astounded by it. Makes me feel like all the work of BF'ing, comp feeding & expressing is paying off!! Ty also slept for 2.5 hours from 8-10.30 and then slept while i was out and about and put him back down at 3, all self settled to sleep, awesome day!! Also my ob who was away for the delivery called me this morning to check in and my bloods taken on the day of induction/birth actually showed i had full blown pre-eclampsia, my liver function was failing & many other levels were off the chart, so lucky i went with my gut feeling and let my ob know i did not feel right, if i had waited another week it may have not been very pretty!!
VIX - No probs on the post, will let you know when i get it and i love advice & opinions, especially as its my first!!
Pretz - I am still bleeding, and Ty is 4 weeks tomoro, not alot at all but still pad worthy (not liners), but it has really settled in the last day or two and is now brown!!mmm...just realised my ticker is a day behind!!
Hi to everyone else, i have read everything but have now forgotten who said what, damn baby brain!!
Vix - You're very welcome and no need to thank me. I'm thanking you for everything you do!! I don't think you come across as a know it all - although you do know a lot and your advice and tips are very helpful and much appreciated! :D I too find that the pads are rubbing on the insides of my legs and it hurts! That's another reason I'm OVER it!! lol
Sparkles - Way to go Ty on gaining 330g's!! That's excellent. I'm glad to hear that and you sound like you're much more relaxed about it now. I'm very happy for you!! Glad to hear I'm not the only one that is still bleeding - I hope for all our sakes that it completely goes away SOONER rather than later. Very annoying!
I should probably go have a nap as my little monkey has been asleep since about 12pm but due for a feed in about an hour...
Hope you all have a great arvo!!

I'm tired, so can't remember who said what... sorry guys :(
Summer has been awake since 8am. Finally got her sleeping properly about half hour ago, but she's already stirring. Its wearing me down today. House is a mess & washing needs doing, but I haven't been able to put her down. She's sounding a bit croaky too. Poor bubba.
Anyway, going for a walk to get out of the house.
Oh, & I bled on & off for 8 weeks after DS. I could almost say its finished this time around, but I'm not quite ready to say it is for sure yet. Still using liners JIC.
Gotta go, she's up again...
Hello everyone.
Pretz - so sorry to hear about your nan :( what a lovely sentiment to plant the tree in her memory. I hope it grows huge and blossoms all the time. Jacarandas are so beautiful, I can see why she liked them :)
Vix - yes I am pretty sure they were standard questions. but it wasn't just the questions it was the womans demeanour. she came across as very judging and was as if she looked down on me for being young, or single. I have to see her again tomorrow for one more check up but hopefully not again after that.
She was meant to do his heel ***** yesterday I thought, I'll have to ask about it tomorrow.
AFM: sore boobs have improved. my left was bleeding during the night, ouch. but after hand expressing a fair bit I was able to get Vinny to latch on properly and have 2 feeds in a row off it because it was sooooooooooo engorged and like twice the size of the right, and painful. now the right is slightly bigger so we are back to alternating feeds. fingers crossed they stay good and don't get ouchie again.
had a busy day. went into town and took Vinny to the shops for the first time to get some groceries. had my sister and my niece visit, and 2 friends and then went to the GP (first walk with the pram) and then came back to my house to see my friend again, just got home 20 minutes ago.
Vinny fed at 11, 12, 2, and then 430 and currently is still sleeping. He has been very good again, got lots of beautiful cuddles from my mates.
Tomorrow is my brothers birthday. My dad, his partner and my baby brother Henry (who is almost 2) are travelling over from interstate to see him, and meet Vinny and catch up with all of us. It will be nice to see them. Especially my gorgeous brother as have not seen him since his 1st bday. We are going out for tea I think.
Have a good one.
Hi to everyone else who I didn't persie to. hope you are all well xo
Just popping in quickly! Alannah is due to wake up. She slept from around 9pm - 5am, that is 2 nights in a row. Unfortunately I had a 4 yr old who woke me up about 4 times for no real reason (DS#1 - "Need to go to the toilet" Me: "Well friggin' GO!!", he always goes by himself and then after that it was petty crap) over two or three hours and then DH's snoring started up so I ended up on the lounge. Certainly had my cranky pants on!
Alannah was awake almost alllll day yesterday just wanting to be fed but today she has self settles each time! I have also put her in a sleeping bag...wonder if that has made a diff??? I tried to wrap her arms in her wrap yesterday......the little miss has a temper already! lol
Okay, the boys need me for something now....something to do with Scooby Doo 13????? What???? lol
xxxxx
Haha..i just realised my ticker isn't a day behind, i was a day in front of myself, yesterday was only wednesday not thursday!!Shocker!
hehe sparkles. well done
anyone else agree baby brain is worse after pregnancy?
ROFL at sparkles!
My memory is absolutely shot at the moment. Which sucks cos its usually really good. I just hope that the only thing I never forget is the baby LOL.
You girlies are quiet. I'm heading to Bendigo tomorrow to meet up with J and fill out some paperwork and so he can spend time with Vinny. I'm hoping his mum is at work and not there to interfere. Looking forward to it. He rang me today and asked what time I was coming etc. He wants me to leave Vinny with him for 1/2 an hour unsupervised and I said I don't think so.. He is far too young and I still don't know J well enough. nor do I know his level of competency at parenting, I don't know if he's ever really had anything to do with babies.. and there is no guarantee Vinny will be well behaved. Today he had a very unsettled period through lunch/early afternoon but now he is much better.
Take it as it comes I say, fingers crossed it works out okay :)
