Morning!
Brydz - They sound like standard questions as some people have no idea what to do at all. It was nothing at you personally but more than likley part of her job. When I had my first they actually looked in Baileys room to see the cot, bedding etc and at the next visit (because DH was not there this time) asked me about domestic violence. Don't take it personally hun. Not sure about the stitches etc but with the dummies, I think they base it on their own beliefs. My S-Mum makes comments about my kids using dummies...she is an RN too. Try not to take it personally. One thing I have learn't since becoming a Mummy is 'my baby, my way'. J sounds like he will be a great Daddy!
Raffy - WTG Cooper!!! I MADE Alannah self settle at 6am this morning because I could hear the boys waking up anyway. My SIL made the comment that day time was the best time to do it....never actually thought about that, just got sick and tired of going in every 2 mins. That is my plan of attack for today so hopefully by tonight she will get some idea about me not racing in every 2 mins coz sometimes I just gotta PEE!!!! lmao
Sparkles - all the best today. Damn DH did not mail your surprise till Monday! I hope you get it today or tomorrow!!!
Rory - Camping!!?? OMG!! I have trouble just getting out of the house to get the blumin' mail! lol Have fun.
Clover - I used a Hot Milk pillow but stopped about 2 weeks ago. It was great whilst I was still sore form my c-section. I know just sit cross legged on the lounge with a small pillow under her / to rest my arm on.
AFM: :cry::cry: Just had my 6 weeks check up with my OBGYN. My last ever appointment with her. Was at 10am and I still feel like crying. She gave me a great big hug and said it was the end of an era. 2005 - 2010! I ment to get a thnaks card but forgot when i was at the shops the other day. Will do it this week plus a photo of the kids when they were born and now. Had my pap smear and got a referral for a BT for my thyroid but the results go to my GP. I was kinda hoping I would see bernie again...but no. I have been dreading this day since 1/2 way through my pregnancy. Feel like I have lost a BF.:cry: I think I feel sad too knowing I won't be feeling little kicks in my belly ever again. I know I don't want more kids but knowing I can't is worse. Make sense? *sigh*
Hanging out for Friday so Alannah can finally see a CHN! She will be 6 weeks on the weekend! Friggin' joke!
Okay, off to phone my GF and sook to her. lol
:grouphug::grouphug:
Without you ladies, my life would be dull.

Finally caught up on all the posts - sorry for my slack responses but luckily you all know how busy having a little one(s) can be! lol
Sparkles - Hope all goes well when you get Ty weighed today. I'm sure he has gained more weight this week and I hope it helps ease your mind a little!
Vix - Don't feel left out in this group and don't you dare leave this group! I'll be coming to find you and chase you back here!! lol Just remember that there's only 11 days in age between Allanah and Noah and that's not a lot. You are a gem and you are amazing at helping ease us first time Mummies' minds and helping us out with advice. I for one really, really appreciate it more than you will EVER know!! Feeling much better after my emotional wreck day on Sunday and Noah is sleeping/settling much better now! Yay!! I'm sorry that you're feeling sad about not seeing your OB anymore. I felt sad too that I wouldn't be seeing my OB's as regularly anymore and after my 6 weeks check up in 3 weeks it'll be a while before I see them again (until baby #2 - oh wow, I can't believe I'm already talking baby #2! :o) lol
Nikki - Hope you were able to catch up on some sleep by now and that Ben isn't still feeding every 1.5 hours. Hope you're doing ok and remember if you ever want to talk/chat/vent about ANYTHING I'm here for you and you have my no!
Clover - Sorry to hear about that young guy! Hope Summer is doing better now with her mucus and that she's breathing and feeding better.
Raffy - Hope that you have been able to settle Coop a bit better by now. I have the same thing with Noah. He doesn't like you putting him in his bassinet as he'll wake up and scream until you cuddle him and he'll fall asleep, but the last day or so has been much better thankfully. I too LOVE the drunken look they have once they've fed and fallen asleep. lol Too cute!! Yay on Coop's 800g weight gain thats excellent!!!
Brydz - Officially welcome to our thread as a Mummy, I'm soooo glad Vinny finally made his appearance and he's a real little spunk! I'm sorry about J's family being a nightmare and about them putting stress on you that you don't need. I would have to agree with the other girls that J is Vinny's father and that J's mother should get lost. She doesn't have any say about Vinny and that should be that! I can't believe the things she said and would ignore her completely. Stick to messaging J on FB and that way she can't interfere. Hope you are settling in nicely at home with your little man.
Rory - Wow, camping!? Enjoy hope you guys have a blast!!
Group Question - Is anyone still bleeding/spotting? I know it can be normal to last for up to 6 weeks and sometimes even longer, but I'm OVER the bleeding/spotting now. Some days it's just spotting, other days it's more red bleeding again. I feel like I've been horseback riding for weeks now and having to wear a pad down there all the time is starting to kill me!! I am wanting the 9 months back without having bleeding/periods and no pads!! lol Starting to think that one of my stitches didn't disolve properly either as I feel a little lump and it's still a bit tender in that spot....guess I'll find out when I see my OB.
To everyone - Thanks for your sweet and kind thoughts - really appreciate it heaps. Am doing better now and although Mum and I are still very sad about my Nan, we're trying to remember all the good thing about her. Funeral is on Friday, but unfortunately neither Mum or I will be able to go, obviously because the funeral is in South Africa and I wouldn't want to fly with Noah at this stage and Mum said that if she went back she probably couldn't come back again (being expensive and all) and that it's only for a day, so we're (me and Mum) going to plant a Jacaranda tree (my Nan LOVED Jacaranda's) for her on Friday here in our yard. :)
AFM, I feel like a new woman this morning as Noah slept from midnight until 5:30am this morning and I got about 5 hours straight sleep!! Wow, it's amazing how good that can feel! lol That's the first big sleep for me for that long since Noah was born! lol Went to get Noah weighed this morning at the CHN and he gained 230g which is fantastic according to the CHN and he is now over his birth weight! Yay!!!!!! :) Very happy and relaxed Mummy over here!! I can't believe my little man will be 4 WEEKS old tomorrow! Holy cow, where has the last month/4 weeks gone!!!???
Well then, best be off to get some lunch before my monkey wakes up again. Can't believe I was actually able to type all this without him crying as whenever I try to get on the PC lately he screams.....he doesn't like me sharing my attention with much other than him! lol
Love to you all!!

Thanks Pretz for your kind words. I worry that it may come across as I am a know it all. I guess it is just advice I wish my mum could have passed onto me....oh well!
Re: Group Question. Alannah is 5.5weeks old now and I am still spotting every couple of days but only wear panty liners now and just change them as often as required. The full size pads and before that the maternity ones drove me nuts and after a while I found them rubbing on the inside of my legs.
Blahhhhhh, she just woke up! Anyways, looks like a storm brewing outside. so black over there <----- lol

Hello,
Finally have a minute to pop on here, between being a mum and still trying to do all our bookwork & who knows why i did not do the BAS for our company & partnership before Ty was born....silly me!! But all done now..YAY!!!
So.....had the weigh in, and he has put on 330g in a week. The CHN was so happy and i think absolutely astounded by it. Makes me feel like all the work of BF'ing, comp feeding & expressing is paying off!! Ty also slept for 2.5 hours from 8-10.30 and then slept while i was out and about and put him back down at 3, all self settled to sleep, awesome day!! Also my ob who was away for the delivery called me this morning to check in and my bloods taken on the day of induction/birth actually showed i had full blown pre-eclampsia, my liver function was failing & many other levels were off the chart, so lucky i went with my gut feeling and let my ob know i did not feel right, if i had waited another week it may have not been very pretty!!
VIX - No probs on the post, will let you know when i get it and i love advice & opinions, especially as its my first!!
Pretz - I am still bleeding, and Ty is 4 weeks tomoro, not alot at all but still pad worthy (not liners), but it has really settled in the last day or two and is now brown!!mmm...just realised my ticker is a day behind!!
Hi to everyone else, i have read everything but have now forgotten who said what, damn baby brain!!
-
Vix - You're very welcome and no need to thank me. I'm thanking you for everything you do!! I don't think you come across as a know it all - although you do know a lot and your advice and tips are very helpful and much appreciated! :D I too find that the pads are rubbing on the insides of my legs and it hurts! That's another reason I'm OVER it!! lol
Sparkles - Way to go Ty on gaining 330g's!! That's excellent. I'm glad to hear that and you sound like you're much more relaxed about it now. I'm very happy for you!! Glad to hear I'm not the only one that is still bleeding - I hope for all our sakes that it completely goes away SOONER rather than later. Very annoying!
I should probably go have a nap as my little monkey has been asleep since about 12pm but due for a feed in about an hour...
Hope you all have a great arvo!!

I'm tired, so can't remember who said what... sorry guys :(
Summer has been awake since 8am. Finally got her sleeping properly about half hour ago, but she's already stirring. Its wearing me down today. House is a mess & washing needs doing, but I haven't been able to put her down. She's sounding a bit croaky too. Poor bubba.
Anyway, going for a walk to get out of the house.
Oh, & I bled on & off for 8 weeks after DS. I could almost say its finished this time around, but I'm not quite ready to say it is for sure yet. Still using liners JIC.
Gotta go, she's up again...
-
Hello everyone.
Pretz - so sorry to hear about your nan :( what a lovely sentiment to plant the tree in her memory. I hope it grows huge and blossoms all the time. Jacarandas are so beautiful, I can see why she liked them :)
Vix - yes I am pretty sure they were standard questions. but it wasn't just the questions it was the womans demeanour. she came across as very judging and was as if she looked down on me for being young, or single. I have to see her again tomorrow for one more check up but hopefully not again after that.
She was meant to do his heel ***** yesterday I thought, I'll have to ask about it tomorrow.
AFM: sore boobs have improved. my left was bleeding during the night, ouch. but after hand expressing a fair bit I was able to get Vinny to latch on properly and have 2 feeds in a row off it because it was sooooooooooo engorged and like twice the size of the right, and painful. now the right is slightly bigger so we are back to alternating feeds. fingers crossed they stay good and don't get ouchie again.
had a busy day. went into town and took Vinny to the shops for the first time to get some groceries. had my sister and my niece visit, and 2 friends and then went to the GP (first walk with the pram) and then came back to my house to see my friend again, just got home 20 minutes ago.
Vinny fed at 11, 12, 2, and then 430 and currently is still sleeping. He has been very good again, got lots of beautiful cuddles from my mates.
Tomorrow is my brothers birthday. My dad, his partner and my baby brother Henry (who is almost 2) are travelling over from interstate to see him, and meet Vinny and catch up with all of us. It will be nice to see them. Especially my gorgeous brother as have not seen him since his 1st bday. We are going out for tea I think.
Have a good one.
Hi to everyone else who I didn't persie to. hope you are all well xo

Just popping in quickly! Alannah is due to wake up. She slept from around 9pm - 5am, that is 2 nights in a row. Unfortunately I had a 4 yr old who woke me up about 4 times for no real reason (DS#1 - "Need to go to the toilet" Me: "Well friggin' GO!!", he always goes by himself and then after that it was petty crap) over two or three hours and then DH's snoring started up so I ended up on the lounge. Certainly had my cranky pants on!
Alannah was awake almost alllll day yesterday just wanting to be fed but today she has self settles each time! I have also put her in a sleeping bag...wonder if that has made a diff??? I tried to wrap her arms in her wrap yesterday......the little miss has a temper already! lol
Okay, the boys need me for something now....something to do with Scooby Doo 13????? What???? lol

Haha..i just realised my ticker isn't a day behind, i was a day in front of myself, yesterday was only wednesday not thursday!!Shocker!
-
hehe sparkles. well done
-
anyone else agree baby brain is worse after pregnancy?
ROFL at sparkles!
My memory is absolutely shot at the moment. Which sucks cos its usually really good. I just hope that the only thing I never forget is the baby LOL.
You girlies are quiet. I'm heading to Bendigo tomorrow to meet up with J and fill out some paperwork and so he can spend time with Vinny. I'm hoping his mum is at work and not there to interfere. Looking forward to it. He rang me today and asked what time I was coming etc. He wants me to leave Vinny with him for 1/2 an hour unsupervised and I said I don't think so.. He is far too young and I still don't know J well enough. nor do I know his level of competency at parenting, I don't know if he's ever really had anything to do with babies.. and there is no guarantee Vinny will be well behaved. Today he had a very unsettled period through lunch/early afternoon but now he is much better.
Take it as it comes I say, fingers crossed it works out okay :)
-
best of luck for tomoro brydz. im sure it will all go swimmingly. thinkin of ya,
cooper woke up bout an hour and a half ago and boy is he being a butt. hes not sure what he wants lol. on the other hand hes holdin his head up like a pro.
hope he sleeps soon, im starving and he wont let me put him down :wall:
think its cereal for dinner, looks like thats all ill get time to make.
gonna express tonight, DP isnt working tomoro and i think ive earned a sleep. hopefully he agrees :crossfingers:
group question: whats the normal amount a baby should sneeze?? coop sneezes quite often. could he be allergic to my cats??
-
Clover - Wow, I truly hope that my bleeding doesn't continue for much longer let alone 8 weeks as that would drive me nuts! :wall: Glad to hear that your bleeding is nearly finished this time around! ;) Hope Summer has been good for you today.
Brydz - Thanks honey. Yes I agree too, Jacarandas are beautiful. There are millions of Jacaranda trees in South Africa, so it'll be a bit of a reminder of South Africa, my family and my Nan whenever I see the tree as it grows and blooms. Good luck with everything tomorrow - hope it all goes well. I  and hope that J's Mum is not there. Hope you enjoy having your Dad and brother over to visit and meet Vinny. Oh and you're not the only one, the pregnancy baby brain and forgetting things is NOTHING compared to when you are sleep deprived and have a baby!! My memory is shot too and I can't seem to remember ANYTHING. It feels like I'm going nuts because I can't remember a thing!!
Vix - How do you get Allanah to sleep from 9pm to 5am??? That is awesome!! I would LOVE to have that with Noah.. (see AFM below). Hope you were able to get some kind of rest/sleep today and that Allanah, Bailey and Noah were good for you. LOL  about Scooby Doo 13!! Cute!!
Sparkles - LOL don't worry, you're not the only one with being ahead in time or forgetting things, I'm the same.
Raffy - I have the same thing with Noah not wanting to be put down (see AFM below). I'm not sure about the sneezing, but Noah sneezes a bit too, so guessing it's normal. Glad to hear that he is holding his head up so well.
Hello to everyone else!
AFM, sooooooooooo tired!! :wall: Noah has the habit of not wanting to be put down or wanting to be put to sleep in his basinette until he is in a DEEP sleep. If you put him in there or down he screams. lol He was awake from 2:25am this morning until after 6am and then fell asleep until 7:30 when he was awake screaming again. He was awake from around 7:30am until well after lunch and although he seemed settled, became overtired and frustrated, fighting his tiredness until about 2:30pm when he finally fell asleep and slept til 5pm, had a feed, a bath, another feed at 7:30pm and is now asleep....I am going to head to bed too as I'm sure it won't be long until he wakes again. Hopefully I can get some sleep, even if it's just 2 hours or something. lol Noah is 4 weeks today.....wow, I can't believe it's already been 4 weeks since I gave birth to my little boy!!
Hope you all have a great night!
xoxo

OH crap I have fallen so far behind again. I literally have to push myself to get out of the house in the mornings by 10.30am so getting on here is truly difficult atm haha but Im sure you are all finding the same thing ;)
I really need to change my routine so Im the first to get dressed in the mornings, not the last!!
WAY TO GO on all the massive weight gains for the little lads out there (Cooper, Noah and Ty!). You are all doing so well mummies!!
My boy is a monster ... literally growing before my eyes. He now weighs 5.2kg and has grown 6cm in length since birth. WTF!! Perhaps he has gigantasism??
Ahhh gtg, Summer is pestering Ben and trying to push the dummy in his mouth while he is asleep.
Will try get back on later today - love to all
-
Just another quickie!!
CHN came out this morning. Shock! Horror! Alannah is now 4.48kg. Her birth weight was 3.2kg (up by 1.28kg)and Dianne (CHN) was super happy with her. Head circ is 37cm and at birth it was 33.2cm. I had a really good look at Alannahs thighs this morning and they are so chubby. It is different when someone else is changing your babys nappy for you. Made me see her in a diff light so-to-speak.
Spoke to her about me......borderline PND. She is coming out in 2 weeks time again to see me (more than Alannah) and to do another PND test. In the meantime though or whenever I can she wants me to get in contact with my counsellor again. We discussed meds as I think I might need them this time as it is affecting my relationship with DH (although he could meet me half way) and the boys. She said they are some really good ones out there (in med land!) that will still allow me to be me and not feel like I am being controlled by a substance - make sense? That is a BIG factor for me. I need to remain in control. (A control freak that is outta control and yet needs to feel in control! )
We also spoke about Alannahs reflux. She said what I am doing atm is great and to def have the Pediatrician check her out as it sounds possible.
She is fine with me giving Alannah a top up ff after her last bf at night but only to do a 60ml bottle rather than a 120ml. (She only drinks between 10 and 40ml anyways most nights) She was happy to learn that I did it for my own sanity rather than 'what the text book says i should do'!
Have more stuff but am toooooooo tired. Have just put Alannah down so now my turn!
xxxxx

Wow, sounds like everyone's bubba's are doing great! Weight gains are good :)
My chn came out again earlier in the week. Summer hit just over 4kg on the scales, but that was with a full cloth nappy on. Bare weigh would probably be just under, but the little porka's probably reached it now, lol. I can see the growth & changes in her. She's so bright eyed. We think she's trying to smile already, but isn't quite getting it out yet, lol. So cute though. DD1 was only 3 weeks when she first smiled. Guess it helps that she was over due.
Loving that our weather is finally warming up! For how long I don't know, but i got to take bub out in a pretty t shirt & nappy today. Love having pretty cloth nappies to show off, lol. Got a few mentions of us in the paper again too... 15 minutes of fame are still going strong
Nikki - I'm feeling exactly the same. My house is trashed & I spend ever spare minute trying to get it all organised again, but never get it all done in a day :( Its driving me nuts!!
Vix - glad your onto your feelings hun. You're doing well. Look after yourself ok xx
Oh we have thrush atm. Fan freakin tastic! Feeding is killing me. Hopefully it'll clear up soon. 2 days is enough for me. Feels like itchy needles stabbing my nipples everytime she attaches. It settles into the feed, but still hurts. Nothing can ever just go smoothly can it???
Thanks for your thoughts the other day too. In the few hours of that guys funeral not a single car drove past my house, & I live on one of the busiest streets in town.
Looks like he had a good send off though (I've seen the mangina photo's on facebook as proof! Scary!!)
Hope everyone else is sleeping well xx

howdy all.
WOW what an amazing day! Went to see J and his family. Vinny was an absolute angel the entire time we were there. :)
J was not home alone, his mum was there but she absolutely amazed me with her hospitality and general demeanour. She was sooooooooooooo friendly and goo'd and gah'd over Vinny like she genuinely loved him like any other person who's met him. She showed me some baby pictures of J and his brothers and talked to me with respect. I felt very welcomed.
J was ecstatic to have cuddles and was very happy. He changed his first poopie nappy as soon as we arrived.
His brother and his brothers girlfriend were visiting too and they were lovely and had a great time fussing over Vinny. They all had cuddles and took pictures.
This is a picture of J with his son. DSCF4353.jpg picture by brydz05 - Photobucket
There was no talk about me leaving them alone with him for a while. There was no talking about them and us separately. He wet through on of his outfits and I left it there with them. He got a bit cold so they put a pair of socks and a beanie on him which were a gift from his uncle and I was allowed to take him home in them. They finally seem to be seeing sense. What is his is his and we can share it all.
I don't have any worries that J will want to take him for a prolonged amount of time. Not any time soon. After me being there about 2 hours (i stayed almost 4 hours) I could see J becoming more and more uncomfortable. He decided he didn't want to hold Vinny any more, and didn't want to change his nappies, he just paced around the house like he wanted me to leave. I get the impression after a little while the novelty just wore off because he realized newborn babies are pretty boring. All they do is eat, and sleep, and poop.
They are considering coming to visit us at my place on Sunday. So that will be nice :)
-
Vix - Glad to hear the CHN is looking after you and hearing your concerns and acting on them. I hope you dont have PND, but if thats what you have, i guess its better to have it diagnosed and start getting onto something that will make you feel better  LOL at you describing yourself as A control freak that is outta control and yet needs to feel in control! I think we all feel like that some days huh. Alannah has gained a fantastic amount of weight!!! I know what you mean about not realising how chubby your baby is until someone else is holding them or changing them. I still see Ben as a tiny little newborn but oh my goodness he is far from it.
Brydz - Great photo of J with his little boy ... Im sure it will be a treasured photo for a lot of people. Fantastic that you enjoyed visiting them and his Mum was not a PITA this time!!! HOpefully you have another good visit on Sunday!
Clover - Bummer about the thrush and awesome weight gain for little Summer too!!
AFM - I finally bit the bullet and bought the infant size huggies nappies. Ben is 5.2kg and Im still trying to squeeze him into the last of his newborns (up to 5kg) so Im having a lot of trouble with poo explosions out the sides. 3 more days and I think I will have used them all by then. Man I feel like such a scabber haha Should really just save the leftovers as a present to someone else having a baby ... there are that many around at the moment. Anyhoo Im waffling. Going to go cook a banana loaf ... yum :D
