awww Coops just woke up in his portacot and cried so i picked him up and all he wanted was a cuddle coz now hes fast asleep on my chest. hes such a smoocher.
Brydz - good luck babe, will be stalking for some news :) really excited for you and i hope its soon. thinkin of ya xx
Pretz - dont think bout ur mum going home! u still have ages. enjoy it while you can :) im going home december 11th for roughly a month so its only bout 6 weeks till i see her again :)
AFM - im having the opposite problem with breastfeeding, i have WAY to much milk. im finding that if cooper has a long nap i want/need to express some so i dont feel so huge and sore. and i also express for when we go out (like tonight we r going out to dinner, so i expressed while cooper was sleeping) and i filled a 260ml bottle in bout 7 minutes :o not to mention the amount of breast pads and shirts im going through because of all the leaking. i think this could have something to do with y cooper is projectile vomiting as well, coz i watch how much and how fast it comes out into the pump if thats whats going into him i would be vomiting as well, poor lil guy, but its making it hard to judge how much hes having nd how much is to much!

Raffy - your milk will settle. You always do get a crap load with your first. It took a few weeks to settle in to feeds, & about 4 months to settle completely with DS, so that I wasn't huge every time he skipped a feed. It will feel better soon x

WOW raffy! 260mls is huge!! I agree with Clover, your boobs will settle over the next week or so. Breastfeeding is just so unpredictable huh!! Your boobs will finally sort themselves out and then Cooper will go through a growth spurt and change his feeding pattern and then you'll be all over the shop again. It really does take a good couple of months to get it all sorted. Glad to hear you are going home in December. THat will be nice for you to see your mum and family again. The time will be here before you know it
Brydz - I hope you are in labour and well on your way to meeting little Vinny!! I CANT WAIT to hear your BA!!!
Vix - Hope your trip to the dentist wasnt too painful!! WOw, that tea sounds amazing. Dont think I need any atm but its always helpful to know that there is some things out there to help with BF.
Sparkles - Sorry to hear you are feeling stressed about BF, and dont worry about doing a ME post. Everyone on here understands and feels pushed for time etc, and need to get things of their mind, so dont apologise. I dont have any advice to offer sorry as Ben is just a guts, but wanted to send you massive hugs  :comfort:
Pretz - I KNOW about time going by so fast. I feel like I only just get up in the morning and its time for bed again. There just isnt enough time in the day. I cant believe our boys are at the 3 week mark already. Its truly amazing and I have forgotten already what it is like to be pregnant :(
Clover - you certainly did have a good sleep with Summer going from 1.15 - 7:15am!! That is truly awesome!!
AFM - YAWN ... SO tired. I honestly and truly forgot what its like having a newborn. Even though Ben feeds then goes straight back to sleep, the broken sleep every 2 - 3 hours is amazing. I am absolutely knackered by this time of the day ... Might go watch some TV actually while both kiddies are sleeping ... Have a good night everyone and see you tomorrow with even bigger bags under my eyes haha

JUst popping in.
Alannah woke up at 4.30am this morning but I stayed in bed for 15 mins until she got abit more grumpy! She does not really cry out when she wakes up but makes a noise which basically means "get up Mum, I am hungry!" Then for the life of me I could not settle her until after 6am! She wasn't crying or anything, just unsettled which I put down to reflux. Wish next Friday would hurry up so I can be told if she is reflux-y or not. Anyways, then I had to type up DH's assignment which was due today so I told him to keep the boys away from me and to make me breakfast - a cooked breakfast! lol Nearly lunch time and I am darn tired now.
27 degrees here atm, should get to 30 degrees soon. Muggy! I dare say we will have another storm this arvo.
Nikki- tooth out! From the time they started numbing my gums to me getting out of the chair was about 10 mins and a cool $200. Thank goodness for health insurance.
Pretz - Hope you manage some sleep today!
Raffy - Liquid gold! I refuse to express this time as it mucked me around so much last time and I had a Forceful Letdown which in turn caused a few problems with Noah. Besides, I don't have time to express most days.
Clover - I topped Alannah up with a FF last night (60ml) after a BF and she crashed just after 10pm until 4.30am. Sleep does wonderful things for a sleep dep Mummy!!! I found my sense of humour and patience today, even with an overtired 2 yr old who chucked about 6 tanties this morning.
Okay, need to brush my teeth before it is midday, lol

Okay, Vinnie was 8 pounds 5 ounces....some of you may have seen that on FB already.
AFM: Alannah slept from about 9.30pm - 6am this morning. Shhhhh, lets hope this is just the beginning!"
*normal voice* For the first time EVER, Alannah pulled off the second side with that 'drunk look' babies get when super full. She has never done that after a BF before! She looks drunk after a FF but never a BF. Even DH commented. The boys always looked drunk afterwards....so prehaps my milk isn't what it used to be.....???? Happy & sad moment!

DS used to be like that Vix. He slept, then fed, then was awake for an hour, then slept again. He had BF when he woke up instead of putting him to sleep.
I wouldn't worry too much. Long as she's gaining weight & has wet & dirty nappies :)

Gawd there are some CRAPPY tickers out there. Just spent 2 hours playing around with them. I liked a few but they only counted down to her birthday and did not show her current age. Then, the ones like what I now have, look crap but have the info I want on them! Can't win.:wall:

Morning ladies,
Sorry for the "me" post but I'm an emotional mess today....... :crying:
Noah was really unsettled through the night on Friday night and yesterday morning and hardly slept, which meant I didn't sleep. DH finally got him to sleep yesterday arvo at around 2:30pm and he slept until just before 6:00pm when we arrived at friends for dinner, then woke, had a feed and slept again until we got home at 10:30pm, he then fed, but wouldn't settle until after 1:00am only to wake again at 4:00am and the same thing happened and he wouldn't settle until after 7:00am this morning (my Mum got him to sleep thankfully). I was in tears a few times through the night as I felt like he hates me as he just screams and won't settle after feeding him, changing him, trying to cuddle him, rocking him etc, but then my Mum sometimes takes him and he calms down a bit, then I take him again and he screams.... :( My Mum keeps saying I should just stay calm and don't stress because he will feel it, but it's hard as I don't like my baby screaming and crying. To make things even more emotional, my MIL phoned DH last night to say that she heard his grandmother in Holland passed away on Thursday night and then just after 8:00am we got a call from my Dad in South Africa saying that my grandmother passed away last night! :crying:
It's really not been a good 48 hours for me, especially being emotional and sleep deprived....
Sorry for the me post girls.....will be back later to do persies.....must go have a shower now I think before my little monkey wakes up again... :heartbeat:
PS: Vix - I know what you mean bout Tickers, it's hard to find one you like, although I reckon yours looks great! ;)
-
WELCOME TO THE WORLD VINCENT and congrats to new mummy Brydz!! :happyforyou:
Vix - I love that milk drunk look. So cute. AWESOME on Alannah sleeping from 9:30pm to 6am. Can I please get a piece of that!!!! Sleep sounds most devine!
Pretz - HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE hugs being sent your way love  I am so sorry to hear of both yours and DH's grandmothers passing away. That is utterly devastating. Terrible news. Dont think for one second that Noah hates you ~ I can guarantee you are the one he most wants to be comforted by ... sometimes it just takes a change of hands and a slightly different approach and he will be asleep. One time you will get it right, another time your DH will, another time your mum will. Babies are so unpredictable. You are doing a wonderful job as a Mummy so dont think otherwise. He is thriving so you must be doing something right. Love to you hun and I hope today is a better day for you :comfort:

Hi all,
Yay to BYRDZ!!! Congrats hun.
Pretz - big, big hugs to, i am having a really trying 48 hours to!!!
Hi to everyone else.
AFM - If its not one thing its another, doing formula top ups cause Ty is just soooo hungry and needs it, thurs & friday he was soooo settled etc. But as of friday arvo he has started vomiting after feeds, i thought it was the formula but he is doing it with the EBM as well, and it seems to be getting worse ie. more coming up after each feed, he will continually chuck up various amounts for an hour or so after his feed, which is then affecting his sleep. We have tried keeping him upright after feeds but now he is just chucking while upright!!! and he is screaming(as if in pain) and will not sleep....i am thinking reflux??? i don't know, i am in tears as i hate to see my little man so unsettled and i cannot help him, it's starting to worry me!! Live in a small town so can't go see a dr either, only thing i could do is go to hospital emergency (40 mins away), maybe i could call the maternity ward and ask them....mmmmmmm, hard to know what to do!! Otherwise i can leave it to tomoro and go see a dr or call the community nurse!!! will talk to DH once he gets back in mobile range and sort out a plan of action!! Anyone here dealt with this/or reflux???
*Heading over to reflux threads*
-
Pretz - HUUUUUUUUGE hugs and sympanthy for you and your families. What a tough week honey. As for Noah hating you - NEVER! I know it blumin' feels like it at the time as only last week I felt like Alannah was being hard to settle just to annoy me. Your Mum is right in saying for you to remain calm and it is hard to do it. Don't ask me how you stay calm.....several times last week i screamed at Alannah to 'shut the firetruck up'......nice Mum arn't I???? This is why Sleep Deprivation has been used as a form of torture for hundreds of years. Have you tried topping him up with another feed or a nice deep warm bath...for him although it might do you a world of good too?! If you need an ear...i'm here, only a call away or a text. Also, have you got a rocker or swing you can put Noah in that will rock him? We were given a swing (2nd hand) by DH's cousin and it plays music although it sounds like onhold music but it swings and sends her to sleep. I also have lullaby music that is played everytime she is put into bed. My boys still listen to the same CD at bedtime and during day naps. They are actually so accustomed to it that they will sleep until it stops playing! Love the repeat button! lol Oh...sometimes foods you eat give them belly pains. I can't eat onions at all but unlike some Mums I can eat all the choccy or drink all the coffee in the world and my kids have been fine.
Sparkles - kinda sounds like reflux to me. Does he arch his back??? Does he sounds snotty? I know they are two things i picked up last week after visitng the Tresillian website. I thought Alannah was getting a cold but it is her reflux. She does not cry but was very unsettled for many hours. Try visitng the Tresillian website or the Karitane (sp) website - the numbers will be on the back of your blue book. Def phone your CHN tomorrow, NO question is every a silly question....esp when it comes to babies and children.
AFM: Alannah is 5 weeks old today. I feel like she is so much older than all the other babies and i kinda feel abit 'out' of this group but don't want to leave. I know in 2 yrs time age won't matter though just at the moment I feel like Alannah has nothing in common. *sigh* Happy to hang around though.
I hope my advice helps some of you out too. Not trying to big note myself, just 'paying it forward'.

Just wanted to see how Pretz and Sparkles went overnight.
