    Happy 8 weeks (yesterday) Alannah!!!!!!

Raffy - I was the same as you when I first became a Mum. (2006) I told the CHN what I thought they wanted to hear and even filled out the pnd survey with answers I thought they would want to see. Bailey was 6 month old by the time I cried out for help. It was the cause of my mastitis I had for 6 weeks which forced me to wean. My GP to me to wean actually. Alot of people told me not to but I had been itching for someone to 'give me permission'. Once I weaned him, received one on one councelling, things began to improve! NOT saying you have it, but just to give you an idea that you are not alone. I even walke out on Bailey and DH one day. I was watching him play and figured he was fed and had a clean nappy so I took the dog for a 2 hour walk. I even wanted something bad to happen to me whilst we were walking like a dog attack or beieng hit by a car. Just something so that people would come to help me without me asking for help! It takes a very strong person to ask for help - ironic hey?! Can you call DH throughout the day when you are freaking out? I AM THINKING OF YOU! xxxxx

AFM: Alannah had a mild fever after her needles but slept it off. Such a good girl. I had to wake her for her feeds on Saturday.

I came across this service called HEALTH DIRECT. I spoke to a qualified and experienced Pediatrician who went through a list of things as I was not sure if it was a virus from Noah or from the needles. She wasn't burining up but much warmer than normal. Even her feet were quite warm. The nurse asked me to take her temp too.

Health Direct - 1800 022222 and their other help line is called Pregnancy, Birth and Baby 1800 882436 Both are available 24/7. I hope the Mods don't mind me putting them on here but I found it such a peace of mind. *waits for a butt whipping off the Mods*

    Okay, love to ya'll,
    xxxxx

Vix - i did the exact same thing with the pnd survey, like when it asked if i had cried lately i said no but really i had had a cry that morning for no reason. there has been so many times when im home alone with cooper and hes screaming i've just put him in his portacot and walked away and if DP would have been home i would have walked out of the house. i feel like the worst person coz i feel like im not coping. i can call DP at work but i dont really like to. i can also msg or call his mobile but hes in the air force and works on the jets so if they r refueling he cant have his fone on him so it could take hours for him to call/msg back which in most cases makes me feel even more isolated nd alone thank you so much for ur support vix you have no idea how much it helps

glad to hear Alannah is ok after her jabs and slept off the fever. poor darling. and thanks for that number lol hope they dont tell you off to much hehe xx

Hi all... glad i brought my lappy...we're stuck! lol
We're in a small town just out of Dubbo & we got flooded in over night. Joy!
So not sure how long we'll be here, but I don't mind. MIL has a broken arm & even though her mum is sposed to be here helping her, she's not doing much at all So I'm helping where I can while SIL & BIL are helping amuse the kids & walk Summer. Shame about school & work, but I don't think anyone's too worried Would like to be able to wash some clothes & dry them though!!

Vix - I wash Summers clothes seperately, but I find it easy, coz I wash nappies as well. I put them all in together. I usually just wash them with a bit of dettol or antibacterial solution though. No powders. Jesse & Bri get eczema so gotta be pretty careful with all that stuff.

ETA - forgot to add that Summer slept 8 hours straight on Saturday night!!! Then went back down straight away for another 3 or 4. That was a one & only so far, but she's been doing a 5 or 6 hour stretch every night. She didn't sleep much that day, only about 2 hours all up.

Oh, bugger. Best cancel Jesse's doc app tomorrow. No way we'll be home by 9.45am lol.

Clover - still duck weather out west? It rained heavily here from about 10am - 4.30pm yesterday and then suddenly stopped! It was so quiet when it did. Weird.

Brydz - Cant beleive you have such an active social life already! WTG!

Raffy - how are you this morning?

    Hello to everyone else!

AFM: If Alannah came on her REAL due date, she would be 6 weeks old today!

    Off to conquor Mt Foldmore!

hi vix - doin well today, dad left this morning which sucks but DP and i went to the shops and upgraded our phones so thats a bit exciting. plus Coops was so well behaved. i really think the brauers stomach calm is workin wonders, i think most of his reflux is silent so we r just giving it to him every 4 hours and its made the world of difference. even if he does have tantys he sooo much easier to settle. im booked in to see the gp next week JIC and coops needs his jabs anyways

how r u today??? hope mt foldmore wasnt to hard to conquer lol

    Hello Mummies!

Sorry for being MIA - have been reading all your posts on my mobile phone, but haven't had the chance to come on the PC to do some persies as I've been a bit with my clingy baby! Thankfully he hasn't been as clingy today and I seem to be able to have left him in his pram this morning when we were out and when we got home I put him on my bed and he slept there for a while. lol

Had my checkup with my OB this morning and felt a bit sad when I left there as I won't see them again until I am pregnant with baby #2 and that won't be for another 18 months to 2 years. Talked about birth control and whether I wanted to go back on the pill, which I don't want to do as it gave me terrible migraines everytime I've used it, so just going to play it safe! DH was already getting excited saying that he can't wait for me to get the all clear IYKWIM ugh.....men!! lol So I got the all clear from my OB, except that I have to just go see my GP at some stage next week and again in a few weeks (which I will do at the same time I take Noah for his 8 week needles next week) as my blood pressure was high again this morning, the nurse checked it twice and both times were high 132/96 and 130/95. Hopefully this doesn't mean I'm going to be experiencing blood pressure problems now. My Mum, both her sisters and my grandmother all have hypertension and are all on tablets to control it, so hopefully I don't follow in their footsteps.

Getting Noah weighed again at the CHN tomorrow morning and then got Noah's checkup with the pediatrician tomorrow afternoon so hopefully he gets the all clear too, which I'm sure he will.

Overall we're doing well and Noah slept another 5 hours between feeds this morning. I think I can almost say that he has a routine of feeding at midnight and then again at 4:00/4:30am so that's great! He doesn't sleep as much during the day anymore and when he does it's no longer than about an hour (if that). I guess in time he'll sort himself out and will sleep better at night. I for one, can't wait though as even when he gets 5 hours sleep for himself, I don't always and I'm still exhausted around the clock. It does get better though....yay!!

Sorry for my lack or persies, will try to pop on again soon and do some...until then...hello to everyone!

Hope you are all having a great day/arvo.

    Love to you all!

Hi all, must be quick because I have a heap to do while the girlie sleeps All is well here - she seems to have escaped reflux and colic (as did the boys - lightning seems to have struck thrice!) and is feeding well, though I had a bout of mastitis last week. Boys still love her and we are all looking forward to Christmas. Will type soon

Vix - I have to have a social life because my friend who is also a single mum was always cooped up at home with her baby boy and I feel sad for him not getting any interaction with others. And she goes out a lot now but he still doesn't leave the house much at 10 months old poor bubby. Also I don't want to get run down and go crazy being trapped at home all on my own so why not get out. Its been very social so far though because of all these birthdays and things, will settle down a bit soon I'm sure. And then theres xmas.. LOL

We went out to dinner last night. Vinny slept the whole 3 hours we were at the pub. He was in the sling and when it came time for me to eat I just slid my arm out so I had a bit more freedom to move and he just laid on my lap and slept. Such a good boy

Overnight we did awesomely, fed at 1130 ish, 3 and then 8am I was happy to get some reasonable sleep for the 3rd successive night! All three nights though we weren't at home, so it will be interesting how he goes back at home tonight..

PICKED UP MY XMAS LAYBY (one of two) today. Had to because I really really couldn't wait any longer to get the elmo swing and elmo sit me up. Both of which I've set up and find amazing and wonderful. vinny loves them and fell asleep almost immedittely using both yay for somewhere I can set him down when I wanna get stuff done. I felt like it wasn't fair just having him on the floor on a blanket, or in his bed all the time.

we still have a busy week planned.. can't wait for a few quiet days next week. will be nice to do nothing.

    Afternoon girls!

I am over the moon. Someone FINALLY said Alannah looks like me! Even Dh has not said it yet. I couldnt stop thanking this lady!!! lol

Pretz - Great to hear from you. You and Noah seem to be very well. His sleeps will sort out soon. WTG on the chek up...both in fact. Have to admit DH and I have been doing it like bunnies! lol Never thought I would enjoy it so much so soon after having a baby.

Brydz - I saw the pics of the Elmo stuff. So cute! All my stuff are hand me downs but I agree, better than being on the floor although Alannah has her floor play a fair bit now.

Raffy - Sl glad to hear Cooper has settled down a bit for you. Makes life easier! Yay for the new phones! I have another year to go on my contract. Love your Avatar. Must get mine done.

Sparkles - great to hear from you. Once I get in the shower I find it soooo hard to get out as it is the only place I don't get bugged from the kids! lol

AFM: Noah is better and now Bailey is sick. *sigh* The lady just came from Twinkle Toes to collect the photo for Alannahs portrait! Can't wait to get it. lannah is beginning to sleep through her mid morning feed now, so just am early morning feed and then a late morning / lunch feed. I did feed her at about 9am this morning and it turned out to be a dream feed! Go figure. She slept through that and a nappy change, the walk up to preschool, being puled out of the pram, being held by one of the teachers and all the kids singing, being put back in the pram and the walk home and then when we got home I left her in her rpam and she continued sleeping for another two hours! Cool bananas!!!

    Okay, off to eat lunch.

    HI,
I can hear my little man complaining that he does not want to sleep so....had 6 week check yesterday, all good on my side of things. Tynan has been given some reflux meds which we will start on tomorrow, so fingers crossed this helps a little, he actually doesn't seem too bad the last day though, so who knows!! Sleeping through the night, or sleeping through till 4am ish otherwise, days sleeps are still pretty much non existant and he wants to be fed every 2.5 - 3 hrs(max!!), i have tried upping his feeds and he doesn't take the extra so i think he just wants food regularly!!!! Yesterday his weight is now 4.72(dressed weight,so probably about 4.55 naked), which means he has put on 1kg in 2.5 weeks!!! Also now 59cm, born 50.5!!! can't remember HC.
I am still expressing and giving Ty what i can, but my supply seems to be rapidly decreasing all of a sudden, my aim was to last till 8 weeks and that is friday week, so i will make that and then we'll see, he just does not get that a boob is for feeding off, not latching on and smiling at me or sleeping!! very cute, but not very useful!!
Anyway, best be off, will get around to perises one day....sorry!! xx

    T.I.R.E.D!

Stupid MIL kept picking Alannah up last night (they were here for dinner) whenever I gave her to DH (for safekeeping!) for cuddles and quiet time. Even when I gave her a bath which is her wind down time for bedtime at night, she kept poking her and ticking her etc. Took me from when I put her in bed at 8.30pm till about midnight last night to get her to relax enough to fall asleep.

    Clover - safe travels.

Nikki - Hope little Ben is doing well.

Sparkles - WTG!!! You have done well.

    Hello Mummies!

Rory - Great to hear from you and glad to hear that Rose (and your boys) are lucky to have escaped reflux and colic. Sorry to hear about your mastitis last week. Hope it's all better now.

Brydz - Glad to hear Vinny is going so well with sleeping and good on ya for picking up all your Xmas layby's. He looks adorable in his elmo swing! Noah loves sitting in his bouncer and swing, but have never fallen asleep in either until the first time this morning in his bouncer. I couldn't believe it and was sooooo happy!!

Raffy - Love your new avvy! I'm still waiting for mine and can't wait to see it. Hope you and Coop are doing well. I'm sorry that I never replied to you the other day when you posted about how hard things were and that you thought you weren't coping well. Just remember that it will get easier and that you're doing a fantastic and great job with Coop and that he is a beautiful little boy. I too still have my moments with Noah as well, but have become to realise more and more that the calmer you are (as hard as it is) the more calm he will be. Please know that we're all here for you and you can always talk to us. Hope you had an awesome time with your Dad visiting.

Sparkles - Hello, glad to hear that all went well with your 6 week checkup and that Ty is growing well! Excellent job you're doing there! I have the same thing with Noah - he doesn't sleep much anymore during the day and when he does, it's only for a short time before he wakes again. He also wants to be fed every 1.5-2 hours, sometimes 3 hours, but luckily only feeds 2 times through the night (being midnight and 4am).

Vix - LOL on you and DH doing it like bunnies! I must be honest that I have not actually done it at all, mostly because my Mum is still here and it would just feel weird/strange and because I'm too tired to even think about it! lol Hope your boys are doing better and that they'll feel like their normal selves again soon! Sorry to hear about your MIL being a PITA with picking up and tickling Alannah last night. How annoying, I'd be fuming if it was me, especially when trying to get into a routine with her bathtime and settling time at night... HUGE

Nikki - Hey honey, hope things are going well with Ben and Summer and that they're both well. Awesome that you got your Christmas tree up already! I don't know if I'll actually get to put mine up this year if we're still living downstairs because it's so cramped and small with everything we have down here that there's just no room for my big tree. Perhaps I'll get a small cheapy tree and at least put it up. I guess I HAVE to put one up, seeing as it's our first Christmas with Noah and I'd like to make it special.

Clover - Glad to hear that Summer is much more settled - hope it continues for ya. Good luck with the house inspection and your 6 week checkup on Monday.

Group Question - Forgot to ask this the other day. When I saw my OB on Tuesday, he asked how I was feeling and asked whether I was having/feeling any pain/discomfort in my perineum area where I had my 2nd degree tear and I said that it was painful the first 2-3 weeks, but that I felt fine now. Well, he checked and palpated my tummy to feel for any tenderness and palpated my ovaries, but didn't do a papsmear as I had one just before I fell pregnant and he said that I would be due for my next papsmear next year September 2011. He also didn't do a pelvic examination which I don't mind one bit about, but I was kind of thinking that he would to just double check my tear was healing and that everything looked ok. I'm not too worried about it and guess neither is my OB, but was just wondering whether this was normal to not have a pelvic exam at your postpartum checkup and whether you girls had a pelvic exam or not?

    Hello to everyone else!

AFM, weighed Noah yesterday and he now weighs 4.98kg, just a little under 5kg!! Wow, sooooo happy and proud! lol He also had his pediatrician appt yesterday afternoon and the pediatrician was happy with how he is growing/doing and gave him the all clear. So happy and relieved to hear it. Talked to me about introducing solids to Noah around 4 months instead of 6 months and got an appt for Noah on 5 April next year to see him for his 6 month checkup.

For those of you that know Erica1980, I'm sooooooo excited as she's coming over to my house this afternoon for a visit and to meet me and Noah. Have known her since about July 2009, so will be awesome to finally meet her in person. Soooooo excited to see her!!

Well then, have had my shower and done a nice big post without Noah waking so best prepare myself for when he does wake up, which I hope is sooner rather than later, as my boobies are crying out to be emptied! lol

    Love to you all!

    xoxo

realised over the last few days that my milk supply is rapidly dwindling. sometimes i run out b4 coops gets enough so i have to let him cry himself to sleep and pray he sleeps long enough for my body to produce some more. gonna try some lactation cookies, but its looking like i may have to mix feed which im a little bummed about but i just hate seeing him go hungry.

Vix - wat a PITA about ur mil, my friends do that sometimes and it really annoys me coz they go home and sleep like 10 hours straight while im up till all hours wif coops. grr

ETA - pretz (we posted at the same time) thanks for ur kind words hunni, it means alot knowin i hve u gals to talk to WTG on noahs weight gain. your doin well mummy. and i hvnt had my check up yet so i wouldnt no. sorry hun, but im sure it means everythings fine and ur obs not worried. DP and i attempted to dtd the other night coz i thought i was all healed and hadnt felt any pain or discomfort for weeks from my 3rd degree tear. but we didnt get far coz it flippin hurt like hell trying to penetrate (sorry TMI) so we just fooled around but i will have to ask to dr at my check up next week, thanks about the avvy, cant wait to see ur new one
