Sounds like you're going to be very busy the next week Clover, but sounds like you're going to have a great time with your family!
Glad to hear that things with feeding is getting better. Hope it just continues to get better and better. I think Noah just went through a growth spurt about a week or so ago as he had that massive gain and the last few days have been going 3 hours or so between feeds.
Thank you - DH and I are both very excited about spending our first Christmas with our little boy! Can't wait and what's best of all is that we get to help open some extra pressies this year! lol
pretz Wow Noah is nearly as big as that 8 month old? crazy huh. My niece who turns 2 on NYE is only 80cm. I reckon Vinny is going to be as tall as her before long. She is right on the bottom line on the growth charts and he is toward 90% I think on his.
Thanks guys for all the kind words re: J and everything.
Yesterday I received a really really really long email from "J" that was sent from his mothers email address. I KNEW all along it was her email address but now I have proof because she finally sent me an email from it and her name comes up. Not J's.
Anyways it was a stupid email really. Full of inaccuracies and half truths and even a couple of lies. She clearly does think I'm stupid. I remember what things I have said and done. Over on BH website I keep a diary about it all. I have also got a written diary from most of my pregnancy AND a saved copy of every piece of correspondence between me and J (or her).
So I replied as nicely as I could and just corrected a few of her mistakes with the ACTUAL truth and then wished them a happy holiday and said I hope we can sort it out when they are back from overseas.
In the meantime I'm hoping to not hear from them again until they get back and Vinny and I will enjoy our Christmas best we can
Its gunna be good fun all the kids are growing up we have 4 toddlers this year so it will be mad!
brydz - WTG on keepin record of everthing, i hope you dont have to use them offically but you've done all the right things. i hope you and vinny have an awesome christmas, you deserve the best. have fun with all those kiddies. madness is sometimes fun
Thanks RAFFY!
hope you and ben and master coop have a lovely first family christmas
Vinny had his 8 week check up today at 8 + 3. He has gained 610g since last weigh in at 5 + 6. He now weighs abot 5.5kg and is 60cm long. an increase of only 1cm in 2 and a half weeks, so his length has slowed down which is good. Hopefully he will still fit in the 00 clothes for quite a while yet.
Since having his needles at 1pm he's been quite drowsy and slept most of the time. was unsettled and screaming for a while bout an hour ago but had some panadol and seems to be just fine, sleeping again now.
wow xmas is like 3 days away. still have presents to buy..
still not sure about what to do about Vinny's middle name. J has sent me the registration form and signed it and changed it to what he wanted but I'm not sure what to do. going to ring legal aid tomorrow and ask a few more questions.
well Coops has been unsettled for 3 days now!!!!! he was soooo good and sleeping through but the last 3 nights ive had a total of about 10 hours sleep all up. im baffled as to the cause, was back staying with DF last night though so i had his help but there still wasnt really anything he could do but feel sorry for us and take Cooper when i needed to pee lol
we solve this riddle asap.
Brydz - Hope brave little Vinny is ok after those big bad needles. and i still have christmas presents to buy as well but today ive told DF im not making cooper get into a car unless the house starts burning down. the poor little guy has been in the car everyday since we got to Perth and the minium length of time has been 30 mins. he now cries as soon as you put him in it let us no how you go with the legal aid GL
Beckles - Yay on the new lappie! I agree with ya - 2010 was a great year for us all having been blessed with our beautiful little bundles of joy!
Nikki - Thanks honey, I'm feeling alright again, still feel a biggish lump in my left boob and it's painful when I touch it, press on it, but nothing like the pain I had from it on Friday and Saturday. Other than that feeling fine. If the lump doesn't go away in a few days I might just see the GP incase it is something else? Hope you're ok and that your lumps didn't turn into anything more either. Hope you're enjoying your time away and your girlfriends wedding this coming weekend. Oh and enjoy some of that nice sunny weather for me please because it's just been raining, raining, raining here and we're all getting sick of it!!
Raffy - Hope that Coop has been feeding better the past few days and that your milk supply has sorted itself out.
Clover - Thinking of you and hoping that all is going well with the feeding.
Vix - Thanks honey, I hope that 2011 is a great year for you too! Do you have any plans? And I was wondering how your Chrissy day went with MIL, did she "behave" herself. Hope she didn't cause any drama's.
Brydz - Glad to hear you and Vinny had a great Christmas. I looked at your photos on FB and he has grown heaps. Sooooo cute! I will keep my fingers crossed that everything works out with Vinny's middle name to be registered on his birth certificate. Have you heard from J or his family again since the last time you spoke with them?
Group Question - Should I be worried/getting worried that Noah can't hold his head up for long yet and all of a sudden HATES tummy time? When I hold him with his body towards me and his head looking over my shoulder he holds his head up for long periods of time, but when sitting his head still flops about a bit....??
AFM, have had a busy last few days - with all the rain we had some minor flooding downstairs in our house and thankfully no damage was caused to our furniture, but some boxes with books got badly damaged and we had to rearrange and repack everything, which took ages with a clingy baby around! lol Thankfuly it's all done now.
We're off to go see my girlfriend, her hubby and my goddaughter today for lunch so should be nice to get out of the house seeing as we've been stuck inside because of all the rain....
If I don't get to come on here again before then, I wish you all a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR and hope that 2010 is a great year for you all and that all your dreams come true!!
Pretz - went to see a LC and my milk is gone so Coopers is exclusively FF now. she recons with the last few weeks ive had and the numerous panic attacks its dried up due to stress. im totally bummed about it but at the same time i dont have to worry about him not getting enough and now DF gets to help out with feeds to.
Sorry to here about ur house being flooded. that totally sucks. im sending you some of Perth Sunny weather, we have more than enough. i look like an old lady due to the amount of time ive spent in the pool over the last few days lol
Cooper still flops his head after hes been sitting for a while but like you said can hold it up really well when hes over my shoulder. he also hates tummy time, but he always has, will only do it 2-5mins max before he screams the place down.
hope you enjoy your day out having lunch with your friends, hope the weather isnt to horrible for you
AFM - had one of 'those' days yesterday. after having it confirmed that my milk has dried up i got really upset, Cooper could obviously pick up on it and everytime i held him he would cry, so by the end of the night i didnt want anything to do with him. i figured he didnt want me anymore because without milk i was of no use to him. DF bathed, fed and put him to sleep and also got up to him at 4am. he then (and rightly so) had a go at me this morning so i made a point to change Coopers bum and have a play, now DF and Coops have gone visiting friends coz i have to take my brother to the traino. it sounds horrible but i think i need the break, just to get my head around all this stuff
howdy all. not a lot been happening around here. just doing some rearranging and cleaning.
have sorted thru all Vins clothes and grouped the stuff hanging into sizes and separated them so I don't get all mixed up. Want him to have a chance to WEAR all his 000 stuff before he gets too big. I already put aside all the stuff he no longer fits in, and there was a bit of stuff he NEVER used
washed and dried all the new xmas clothes. currently drying my sheets etc. as I got a new bedspread and decided it was time to have new clean sheets to go with it. (i'm lazy and don't wash mine as often as I should).
Little man is down for a nap in his big boy cot since about 11ish he last fed at 10 so is probably due to wake for boobie soon.
pretz -bummer about the flood. with regards to the middle name I guess I won't hear anything until after the holiday period. and as for your group question - I wouldn't be worried if he can hold it up when ur holding him vertical. sounds like he's doing just fine. not all babies like tummy time. vin does but often will just lay with his head on the ground and not make the effort to lift it (though he can lift it like 90 degrees if he wants to).
Raffy -bummer that ur milk has gone that is no good. at least u know now though and aren't just guessing. i'm wondering if my milk is starting to go too because he is feeding more frequently and my boobs barely get to feel like there's anything in them now days. and my nipples are really sore. did that happen with urs? cos if theres nothing coming out i'm sure they must try and suck harder than usual..
hey don't get bummed if u need a break u need a break. babies are hard work. hope u enjoyed the time apart and relaxed a little.
Vinny is only sleeping thru occasionally. Last night it was 9-4 and 4-730.
The night before it was 10-130, 130-530, 530-830.
It's really frustrating me too. Going to up his night time bottle feed now that he's passed 2 months. And try his cocoon again. Hopefully something will help.
Raffy - sorry to hear your bf has come to an end. It is sad and I understand how you feel. With DS#1 I had mastitis for 6 weeks straight and had to wean I was not getting any better, was always on anti-b's. Mine was pnd related. Next baby it might be different. You will hopefully feel calmer....and besides, Cooper will be happy just being fed - regardless how! I had to give Alannah a bottle at midday yesterday as I simply had a very low supply yesterday. She happily skulled half of it and then crashed! She still gets her bottle at night too - for my sanity. You have done a BRILLIANT JOB! BE SUPER PROUD OF YOURSELF! *massive bug bear hug*
Pretz - Alannah is lazy too...in fact 30 mins ago I just had the convo with her about lifting her head! lol She just lies there and sometimes might turn her head from one side to another but I find she face plants and just lays there which can be a wee bit freaky as her face and nose are covered. With Noah (my Noah! ) he rarely had tummy time and would just lay on my chest as I was sitting up or sit up for a short period of time like you have been doing with Noah. He will just suddenly do it hun!
Brydz - don't forget to if you have been busy and or not resting during the day your milk will be low too. This third time round I think that is half my problem as having three kids is flat out ALL the time! *yawn and makes a coffee!*
Hiya to everyone else.
May not be back on tomorrow as I have to pack to go away on Sunday. Yes......with three kids it takes THAT long to pack!
Oh, had my ultrasound for my Thyroid this week and was going to see the GP on Sat but realised it is a PH. Bugga! Then we will be away for a week so I have to wait to the week after for my results.
Okay, Alannahrama is watching Animal Planet so I really should move her. Wish she would sleep for more than 40 mins at a time during the day.
Vix - Sorry to hear about everything you're going through. I hope things improve for you soon and that you feel better soon. I hope that the break away from home will do you all some good and that you get at least some relaxation somehow. Sorry also to hear that you milk supply has been low and that Alannah has been feeding so much. Noah has been the same, feeding almost constantly some days and it's driving me insane as I don't get much done. I have started giving him a bottle of FF every now and again (sometimes around 11am and then just before my bedtime as a top up feed) too, although still mostly BF when I can. Sorry to hear that MIL is causing problems/dramas. I hope it all gets straightened out soon!
Brydz - Oh I'm so sorry to hear about everything that you're going through too and ouch for the bleeding nipples. I too agree with you that BF is hard and when you're exhausted and your bub is feeding that often it can easily make you want to quit it and start FF. Just remember that it's totally up to you whether you end up FF Vinny or give your boobs a few days to recover and then start on BF again. Either way, as long as Vinny is fed and growing well, then that's all that matters. Sorry to hear about the stuff that you're going through with your brother. I too would agree with you that if he doesn't change his attitude, especially with not phoning your Mum to at least let her know he is safe then she should kick him out, that's what I would do if it were me. Good luck with J and his Mum too when they get back. Hope it all works out!
Hello to everyone else!
AFM, was so impressed as yesterday morning I went to do the grocery shopping and when I came back Noah fell asleep at 1pm and slept for 4 hours until 5pm!! He hasn't slept that much during the day since he was 3 weeks old! lol He did however stay up until 9:30pm though before falling back asleep and then woke at 2:30am for a feed as he had wriggled himself out of his wrap and must have been a bit cold. So I put him in bed with me and DH and fed him in bed and he soon fell asleep until 6:00am again this morning. He just went down for another nap, but I'm not better on another 4 hour sleep today (although it would be nice as I did some washing and would LOVE to get it all folded and put away today instead of 3 days from now!) lol
Other than that, DH and I are just having a quiet day at home relaxing.
Raffy - Your welcome for the 's! Hope you have been getting used to the time difference again and being back home. I'm sure your cats missed you. I can only imagine how much they missed ya. How was your dinner out to Hogs Breath the other night and seeing your friends that work there? Hope you had a great time.
Brydz - I can't wait for upstairs to be fully completed, to move up there and to have everything spaced out! I'm sooo over living in a messy, cluttered area....lol. Just a shame there isn't always time to do things to your place, that's what I find anyway. I feed Noah 1-2 bottles of formula a day now and use the S26-Gold. So far I haven't had any problems. I still mostly BF him when I can, but just give the formula as top ups. I agree with Clover that I wouldn't recommend you changing the formula you are giving him either, unless you know that he is allergic to something, like milk intolerant etc, but then I'd be checking with the GP. From what you have said with his sleeping and waking through the night, I wouldn't stress if I were you, really, he is growing and they all go through growth spurts. Noah didn't sleep through the night or for longer than 6 hours until just the last week and there's almost 5 weeks between Noah and Vinny, so don't worry honey, Vinny will sort himself out soon, I'm sure! Have you heard from J recently? Hope everything is going well.
Clover - I agree - our bubba's are growing toooo quick! It feels like just the other day we were all waiting for our bubs to be born and now the youngest of them all is already over 2 months old!! Wow time sure does fly! I hope that your SIL agreed to baby sit for you for the wedding. I sometimes wonder why people don't allow kids at a wedding or the reception, I mean, especially if they are babies...
Hello to everyone else!
AFM, finally getting a chance to get on here. Have been busy the last few days, but have had a good last few days. Noah slept through the entire night last night (first time ever and first time he did 8 & 1/2 hours straight!) YAY!!!!! He went down at 8pm and woke at 4:30am, had a feed, was asleep again by 5am and slept again til 7:45am! He is having a sleep now too, but I'm not bargaining on it lasting very long. lol We had some massive flooding around our street and area, but at least our house is fine and nothing is wet in or right around the house! The floor polishing guy was supposed to come over yesterday to start on the floors, but phoned yesterday and today saying he was stuck and couldn't get here, so he is going to phone me tomorrow and hopefully will be able to come then. Fingers crossed as I'm sooooooooooo ready to get it done upstairs so we can move up there!
pretz -
please stay safe with all that water around! its just awful to see the news with all the trauma and horror those people are dealing with currently.
who would think water could be so damn scary. does bring back tsunami memories to see things like they are showing.. nature is so powerful and destructive at times.
have not heard from J although I'm pretty sure they got back like a week ago. its not bothering me though. enjoying not having the stress of dealing with it
well u would have read on fb no doubt v slept from 8-630 night before last
on our FIRST night back at our house. and then last night it was 830-330 and 4-730.
so I have been a pretty proud mumma
