Townsvillegirl - I hear you on the wind pain, we have a teriible time getting Ella to sleep and setle at nighttime as she is just in so much pain from the wind!!! and she wants to fee even more regulary at night. During the day I've been doing 3-4 hourly feeds and then at night she wakes and wants it every 1.5-2 hours!!!
Thanks fot the welcome girls.
Ok so I had Caitlin's hip US yesterday and they said all looked good - have to get the Paed to review the report but he is on leave until mid October, so I couldn't get him to check her umbilicial hernia either.
Have made an appointment for 20 Oct to pick up the US (left it there for him to review when he is back) and to have the umbilicial hernia checked. DP wants me to also get it checked by the GP until we see the Paed so will go to see GP when he is next on (have to ring to check when).
I started Caitlin in the cloth nappies today
We had a shocker night with nappy rash - I had put Curash cream on during the day and it made the nappy rash worse... there were only a few spots so I put the cream on to get rid of it but it seems the rash spread to anywhere I put the cream so I then put moo goo on but the rash was beyond moo goo's ability to help.
I was going to put sudocream on but couldn't find the container and then a few of my fb friends advised to use bepanthen so DP went out to get some and ta dah this morning it is pretty much all gone!! The rash was causing her some discomfort when she wee'd so we were doing lots of nappy changes over night.
Today I am in a so so mood as yesterday was really hard with Caitlin being really unsettled so today I put her cloth nappies on and it has cheered me up somewhat
Hope you are all well - Caitlin will be weighed again tomorrow
We have an unsettled windy spewy baby here too - last few days have been a shocker... Screams unless he is held upright on your shoulder or laying on his tummy on my tummy. The first two weeks he was perfect, nothing like his sister, but now the refluxy symptoms are appearing. Infacol seemed to work for a few days, but now I am not so sure.... Glad we are off to the paed this afternoon.
My DD is being so naughty as she is so jealous of Joshua that I am ready to scream. Anyone want a DD? Only kidding she's my miracle baby #1, but far out she is testing my patience today.
Anyway, better get back to it, Joshua is crying so hard now I must go save the poor little man.
I'm a late arrival to the group having seemed to spend most of the last few weeks in the breast feeding problems and support section . My little Sam arrived two weeks early on 22nd September. He was 3.18kg when born and 52cm long and the spitting image of his daddy!
Looking forward to seeing how all his little buddies are getting on and sharing any tips/successes you have had about getting through the little hurdles that are thrown at us.
TG - that sounds very busy! I think you are amazing. Yep time is flying by... I have to post the pic of Caitlin compared to her premmie doll. How are you all handling the heat up in Townsville?
Meadsie - welcome! Glad to have you and Sam in the group! Hope the BFing issues are settling down for you. Looking forward to getting to know you both more.
AFU - I think I forgot to mention that we have started going to Mothers Group. I was a bit worried as it sounded scary - babies in another room etc but I enjoy the time and enjoy getting to know the other mums. I went out to lunch with some of them today after Mothers Group at Pancakes On The Rocks near us and mmmmmmm yummo!! Who could ask more than pancakes for lunch!
Hope you are all keeping cool in this heatwave xox
This is the first time I have posted in here! I haven't really been on BB much lately. Well, Isabel is now 7 weeks old, she weighs a bit over 5kg now and I don't know how long she is. I can't believe how much she is growing! She is on formula, and drinks about 150mls every feed. She seems to be starting to form a pattern with her feeds now, and she wakes up at about the same time each night for a bottle which is good. She smiles all the time, and I love going to get her in the morning when she wakes up as she always gives me a huge smile. She is just an absolute delight, we all adore her. People ask me how I am going having a newborn again and I tell them she is easy compared to her older brother and sisters!
omg I just realised my period is late and me and DF DTD on Sat night without protection although it would seem i would have not been ovulating that late ive been 28 days exact since well 28 days after i had jonathan! mmmmm i did have a preg dream 2 days ago too now im starting to worry..... I will keep you updated!
me+him+bub- ooooh how exciting!
Goodluck with the jobs and a huge CONGRATSSS! Oscar is in day care once a week atm as where i used to work our other female nutritionist has gone on maternity leave! and they were desperate! one day a week doesnt hurt i just hate leaving him! so i know how your feeling... plus the little extra cash goes a long way!!

Hope everyone is well. Sorry, I haven't been on in ages!!!
TK - really sorry to hear about your struggles, I hope things are still going better for you, big from us all.
Easha - Emily also has 2 little buds on her gums, drooling like crazy as well.
Brooke - A big congrats on the pregnancy, my DH is pushing for us to start trying for #2 asap, but I'm putting it off as I just can't imagine having another one yet.
MHB - keep us updated with your news, I'm starting to think maybe it's a good thing having #2 so close - it would surely make it easier as they get older, keeping each other company etc .
Anyway, sorry no time to do personals to everyone, I'm sure you all understand!
wow i have so much to catch up on

savina
Went to the paed today - not reflux but he thinks Joshua might be lactose intolerant, so I have to limit my dairy for the 'boobie snacks' he gets and we are trying him on a lactose free formula. Fingers crossed.
Other than the wind pain issues he is doing well - weighing in today at 5kg, which is pretty damn good for an almost 4 week old! My little (or not so little) man is doing great.... :O)
Savina - Congratulations and glad to hear that you are doing well.
TK - Nappy rash is a shocker!!! I have had so many issues with nappy rash and DD1 - she seems to have an allergic reaction to most nappy rash creams I have tried on her (anything with Zinc) similar to what you described with Caitlin. The only thing that has worked for us is canestan cream. That stuff is also magic at clearing it up in just one application. I hope Caitlin's nappy rash is gone for good now. Not much fun at all.
Leanne - I hope that what the doctor recommended starts to make a difference. I have just spent 9 hours rocking my very unsettled windy little girl. Infant's Friend has stopped helping now and Infacol worked for about a day and now nothing is working. It is driving me to insanity! It is so awful to see them in pain. I hope Josh is doing much better and you start to have a few more settled days.
AFM - We had DD2's 10 day appointment yesterday (even though she was 15 days ). Everything is going really well (apart from the wind issues but that is a whole other thread). She is gaining weight nicely - 4.3kg now. She was born weighing 4.1kg but went to special care and was discharged 24 hours later weighing 3.8kg so that is a 500g gain since day 2. Nothing wrong with her eating!
Anyway, she is screaming again so I am going to have to go and try and find someway to settle her so we get some sleep tonight. It has been a looooong day!
