henri - i know what you mean, dont feel bad, ive been so mean to my DF the last week due to stress with uni and i feel terrible too! also you are VERY lucky to only get up once i night i still have to feed him 2 to 3 times a night and then wake up call is at 5 am everyday!
AFM - my bubs is almost 2months old allready! we are going to start planning our wedding after new years yay! oh and would you believe my bub is allready 6 kilos! after being a half a kilo underweight when i brought him home, he is such a budda i have to put powder under his 3 chins coz it gets all sweaty and yucky under there now and he has grown out of all his clothes and is nearly in 0's!
Thanks Henri- i am a little biased, but hey what mother isnt right?
dont get me wrong i am loving all the attention he is recieving! he absolutly loves attention, He is a ladies man for sure!
its just i find my visitors tend to over welcome the stay.
the past few days have been great though, DP had some mates come up from Sydney over the weekend just gone for his bday, they are 23/24 yrs old and they were absolutly great with Oscar spoilt him rotten it was really funny seeing these young single carefree guys empty there suitcases with teddies, jump suits, haviana thongs (sooo cutee) and even a pair of tiny jeans- they dont fit just yet but i cant wait to put them on him!!
the first night they decided to take DP out to celebrate his bday, they returned home about 430am, and were such good boys didnt even so much as squeek like a mouse.
so DP was in the good books. then the next night they decided to go out again so i decided to go for a sleep over at my mums (oscars nannies) and OMG he was an angel now my mum things i make up all the drama, typical.
anyway thats my story! hope everything is going great for you ladies.

M+H+B - HI! Yep, i think the DP's, DF's and DH's are copping it a bit at the moment!! Surely its not just yours and mine??!! Mine has been so helpful when home but obviously things have to change now he is back at work, so its just an adjustment period i guess. I had been trying hard and succeeding in first few weeks in not telling him he was doing things wrong with bubs, but last two days the way he does things with her is bugging me - i guess my confidence with her has surged forward as i am with her all day and he has lost a bit of confidence not being around her so much, i just have to try and be more patient...... and yep, i know i am so lucky that stephi sleeps well at night so far, fingers crossed it continues....not sure how i would cope if she wasn't that way, maybe i was sent one that the universe knew i could cope with....
V.exciting re wedding plans - hope it all goes well!!! Had to laugh re your bubbas 3 chins!! Stephi is getting real chubby cheeks (bringing back slightly horrid memories of being called "chubby checkers" at primary school () - hope they disappear b4 she gets to school, but for the moment are v.cute!!!!
Brooke- and i have to say again - gorgeous bub!!!! Glad it went well with hubs mates - lucky you get on well with them. Makes all the diff. when they are good with/excited about bubs. I find myself getting a bit offended if people dont gush!!! Definitely feel warmer towards those who do!!!! LOL about oscar ebehaving at nans - people keep saying what a little angel stephi is (as they all look when fast asleep) and really she is great but i still find myself saying "come to my place at 4am when she is hungry and angry she has to get her nappy changed first"!!! She has a great scream on her when she tries, DH enjoyed telling all his mates she got given BOG (best on ground) in the nursery overnight in hossie for biggest screamer!!!!!
AFM - first trip to supermarket today went off ok, went straight after a feed and she slept the whole timeyay for stephi!! Was not impressed with baby capsule trolleys which were old and horrible and i hated putting her in it, not mad on using those again - anyone else got tips how they manage supermarket?? Mostly aiming to do it on weekends when one of us can babysit and the other go and just quick trips for a couple of items during week - but when you do go how do you handle it???? I havent got a baby bjorn or similar, sling, anyone got these and can tell me how useful they are finding them? Are they any good for s.market shopping???
haha at BOG its funny you say that Oscar is more of a whingy/fussy bubba doesnt so much scream untill the other night when i kept him waiting for the boob. i thought poor DP had hurt him.
our DP's seem very simular my DP loves telling his mates about how he cant wait to get Oscar onto a surfboard and Dirtbike. ( i can)
yes its funny how they always seem to be little angels when the visitors are around, yet once they step out the door its world war three. its like they know that they dont have to put on a show anymore and its time to give mumma some good payback for letting everyone pull my cheeks and pass me around like a parcel.
henri as for the shopping i have only been twice so far but i have found either take a lovely soft blanket to lay them on, or just take the pram and stuff the goods where you can (ps. remember where you put it all) so long as your not doing a huge shop. for huge shops maybe get ur DP to come along on his day off one push the pram and one push the trolley (no fights but) good luck
It has been a while since I have written in here as well - just too exhausted ... I am also struggling away with a colicy baby. Some days are better than others. Today is not one of the better days. I love her to bits, I just wish she wouldn't cry so much. DD2 is sleeping well at night which is my only reprieve. She is really unsettled until about 11pm when she finally goes to sleep for the night and she only wakes once between 4.30 and 5.00pm which is great. She then sleeps until around 8am and then she is ready for a day of very unsettledness till 11pm again. My first baby didn't even stop at night time so I am counting my blessings that she is not as bad as that. At least I am getting some sleep, but I am getting nothing else done all day - no washing, no dishes, no cleaning - nothing so we are doing a bit every night once DD2 is finally asleep. It's the only opportunity we get.
My DH is copping a bit from me at the moment too. We have all had a horrible headcold for the last week and a half and it has really knocked all of us. Even the kids have been extremely emotional and tired while they have been sick so I know it is not entirely the hormones. DH didn't get sick thankfully but I am not being a very understanding and because I am not getting to spend anytime with him at all alone until we collapse into bed each night, I am just being plain rude to him. Poor guy. He is handling it well though and understands that I am very tired and not feeling well.
I know this is a stage and it will pass - it is my mantra at the moment.
Henri - I have Hug-A-Bub and I love it. I only got it for this baby, but I think it is incredibly useful for shopping trips because she is quite calm when she is that close to me (although she has given me a couple of hickeys when she thinks she is hungry). I have an Infantino (like a Baby Bjorn) and I don't like it as much. It is not completely hands free because if I lean forward I have to hold the baby so she doesn't fall out. The HAB keeps baby in the one spot. If she gets unsettled while I am shopping, I can still pat her and rock her to settle her and she is very safe - no risk of dropping her etc. I highly recommend the HAB.
Anyway, DD2 is screaming again so I am going to have to go. Sorry that I didn't do more personals, I will try again some other time.

Shopping - I either take a blanket to put under Anelise, or I take her in either the Baba Sling or the HAB.
I looooooooooooove the HAB, it is seriously the best thing ever. I use it whenever & wherever I can. It actually stays folded up at the bottom of the nappy bag when not in use JIC I need it when I am out. I used it loads when Harrison was little and he loved it when he was old enough to face forwards as he would help to push the trolley (lol)

Hi girls just a quick one Henri I did the groceries today and I just had Laicee in the Hug a Bub she slept through the whole thing and it was fantastic I have it on all the time and pop her in it when she gets grizzly...this is normally her witching hour but since I bought the HAB I have popped her in it, I have dinner on and am even catching up quickly on here and she is fast asleep on my chest...gotta get yourself one they are fabulous..she hasnt had colic for days.

Loooooovvve the HUG A BUB!!!! did I mention that????? lol
TG - my bub has really bad reflux and is very unsettled he wakes 3 times a night then ends up in our bed by 5 am we put him on zantac from the GP and its much better, does xanthe spew alot? perhaps she has heartburn like my little bub does.
AFM- i finish my degree on the 2nd of december i cant wait! 4 years done! oh and my bubba is now doing BIG smiles at mummy and daddy i love it!
