Can't help about the day sleeps as still working through on that one here will let you know if I find the magic solution.
Regarding waking at 5/5.30am mark what time does she have her last feed of the night?. I wake my little one at about 10/10.30pm for a feed and he mainly sleeps through to 7.00am. I did it to get another feed into him as he has been slow at gaining weight but upside is that he slept through for longer. Funnily enough if I give him that feed early say at 9.00pm he then wakes at much closer to 5am. The timeframes for being asleep are roughly the same. Might be worth while trying that out? My doctor and health workers have all recommended that I continue to do this.
Anelise barely sleeps through the day, unless we've been for long-ish drives as she always sleeps in the car. I'm not too bothered by it right now as I have the older 2 kids home and they help out a lot (extra pocket money lol)
As for night time, Anelise has her last feed around 10pm and will sleep in until 9am. She is a little podge so I am not too worried about her not getting any feeds during that time and doesn't wake screaming for a feed... she just wakes and wants attention straight away. If Anelise does wake earlier (like 5am) I usually either re-wrap her or I put her in to bed with me and she is guaranteed to sleep through then! She loves being cuddled up to me.
Jaida has slept through to 6am for the past 2 nights (5:50am to be exact) yayayayaya but this has created another little problem. This means with our current 3 hourly feed schedule she only gets in 5 a day not 6. Do you think our bubs are able to pull more milk at each feed to adapt to this or should I try to fit in the 6th. It would mean feeding 2 hourly throughout the afternoon which is fine but she still takes 40 mins to feed.
I also saw two tiny white dots on Jaida's lower gums yesterday and her cheeks are pinking up and she is dibbling more. Me thinks her little teeth are not far away from coming through.... nnnnooooooo I want her to stay a little baby for awhile longer.
Easha - As they're getting bigger, they're figuring out how to get as much as they need. If Jaida is sleeping through like that she must need sleep more than she needs to feed so to me that says she was very satisfied with her before bedtime feed (if that makes sense?)
Anelise has been dribbling and chewing on her fists like crazy... I too have wondered if this is her teeth about to make an appearance but I'm not counting on it... Poor little DS2 didn't get his first tooth until he was 16mths old! Anelise may end up being the same... no teeth ever stopped DS2 though, he used to gum down on lamb cutlets and anything that was put on his plate and scoff the lot.
I have been reading but just not had the time to respond... just wanted to say that your bubbas all sound like they are doing so well.
Easha - DD started sleeping 7+ hours a few weeks ago... I thought it might happen once or twice but she has been sleeping that amount quite consistently. I don't know if it will change (but am prepared if it does) but she feeds to sleep and then wakes around 7hrs later for a feed and it is a HUGE feed then she usually goes back to sleep for another hour or so.
Welcome Bronwyn & Blake. I look forward to getting to know you both better.
Anelise is having a bit of a sook at the moment as I have taken her out of the kiddy pool. She looooooooooooves the pool at the moment. I think it is brilliant as it means I can keep her cooler on these horrible hot days... and she looks too darn cute in her little swimmers!
