Maz-Well I might, and it is a BIG might, be going to a librarian conference in Oct. I can apply to get half of it funded from the education department, it just depends on how much it all costs as to whether or not I can justify it or not. Some good news is that Tallulah is sleeping better since we have tried her in a grow suit, she is so long though I am going to have to find somewhere reasonably priced for size 3 soon. This has cut the tantrums down massively, as she is finally getting some sleep.
On better news, OMG our bubs are 4 this year, crazy huh!
Oh man Helen! :hug: I hope you catch a break soon hon. Poor DH, is there an end in sight for his recovery?
Thanks for asking about speech Meg, sorry I'm only replying now! It's going pretty well! Obviously he's not as verbose as all others his own age, but the big breakthrough is that he's improving with his conversation skills. I constantly bombard him with questions. :lol: Asking him what he's doing and how it makes him feel and why does he like it. We're still not great on why, but that really is an abstract thing, so I'm sure we'll get there. We finished our 6 months of speech with one service, so we're on a waiting list for another service at the moment, but prob won't get in until the end of the year, as a bunch of kids leave the service to go to school. They provide a playgroup for those on the wait list, so that's fun. We see the paed again in Nov to see if he's progressing well enough.
It's so great to hear that J is up to where he should be!
It looks like you guys who went to the GC had a crazy time! I'm glad you had fun!

ok I am so over Jack lately that I looked into daycare 1/2 day once a week :( I swore I'd never put the kids in care but if I dont I think I will go mental I am glad we live in a fairly quiet lots of empty houses street otherwise I think everyone would think I was a banchee :( ........ the constant lying, sneakiness tantrums OMG I just lost it the other week...I had to put him in the room door closed otherwise I think I would have gone off completely...
I know he is bored we dont get out as much now luke is on the move, and partly jelousy... but still :hairpull:
Nelle-We are being told it can take years. Currently he goes to therapy every Friday. Glad Riv's speech is picking up.
Jodi-It is FREEZING in Tas.....so jealous.
Rach-I used to feel the same, but now that I have the kids in daycare, I feel a bit more like me again. I felt like I was everything to and for everyone and nothing for me. It will be a great experience for him with new people and toys and games etc. The bonus is a break for you! So dont feel bad, it is also good development for him.
Beatrix-What a horrible so called friend. Better clear of her! Glad to hear that things are going so well.

Youngest 3 are asleep, Bella is soaking in the bath, so I might see if I can have a rest.
Maz-Do you make weighted blankets at all? Tinker just fell straight asleep with a pillow for a blanket.

Helen- Big :hug: Its so hard being the one to try and hold everything together. Do you get some sort of relief our outlet for yourself? Are your parents supportive? Can your DH apply for disablity allowance at centrelink? Too many questions I'm asking! I'm not near Echuca but maybe you should stop by Melbourne first and have lunch with us all or something.
Rach- Dont feel bad. I think its a good thing for them, I just started putting Ash in this year one day a week cause like you mentioned she gets bored at home too some days and I think the social side is good for her seeing as she can get shy at times.
Ness- I'm always happy to see on FB how great things are going with you and M.
Jodi- i better pack extra jumpers for you for Sydney!
Nelle- thats great on the improvements! How is your new place going? All settled into the area and enjoying it?
Meg- How is J doing? EI is great, we saw huge improvements with my nephew when he was doing it. How is work and everything else going?

End of July I have a girls weekend away, just staying in the city but will be nice break, I deserve some time off! Lol.

Both Emily and Nina are unwell too at the moment. They've both got the snots, lathargic, coughs etc. You know, the yucky stuff. I'm over it, and today was only the first day of sickness!
rach - we all need a break hun. I have Nina in kindy one day a week and that's my sanity! She drives me absolute bonkers (just ask Maz when I'm on the phone to her!)

Bitter cold here at Gisborne.
There is a young guy in town here that has that has a very obvious disability from birth. he has two very small arms. J noticed him today in town and was asking me why does the boy have funny hands. I tried to explain to him that sometimes some people don't look the same, and sometimes some people have accidents that mean they can look different, but he kept saying "why??" I don't feel like I gave him a good answer. What would you say???
J's doing quite well in EI, and they say he has shown huge improvemens, but I think it is now his tonsils are out and he hasn't been getting the ear infections etc, and the sleep apnoea has gone, so he is probably sleeping a lot better. E on the other hand.... well she hasbeen waking up every night lately! To be honest, I am not sure how often she is waking any more, or for how long, because I now put earplugs in. She is waking up grizzling, or chatting so not distressed. i would still hear her properly if she was very upset.
Such a hard one to answer isn't it. And the worse thing is that at this age, the 'why' questions just don't end! I have no advice though, sorry. The one time we've come across this, Nina ended up getting distracted by something else and dropped the subject. Which I'm very fortunate about as she kept asking the why's in front of the disabled person.:

Jodi - I can't beleive that you are already 35 weeks! Gee time goes so fast. Especially considering out babies will be 4 soon *sob sob* - I don't want them to grow up!

Meg- Its so hard explaining things sometimes, I usually try to keep it honest and simple but yeah sometimes the whys just keep going. Sometimes I might turn the question back to them and ask what they think.
You prolly saw on FB but we had Emily down in ED on saturday morning, tiniest bit peanut butter and her face blew up like a balloon. All red, her eyes were so puffed up. Thankfully it didn't affect her airways or anything, I don't even know if she really ate any of it cause it was like 2mm of a bit missing from the toast. We have an epi pen now, seeing GP wed to organise allergy testing.
Ashleigh has a bad attitude, Meg, I remember you always saying how when J gets sick his behaviour goes downhill and after that I realised its the same with Ash, we all just getting over long lasting virus's and seriously her attitude is shocking, just refusing anything, yelling at us, started kicking and hitting us, its exhausting! Don't think Df is enjoying school holidays.

I'm so proud of myself, all of our Christmas shopping is done for all 3 girls thanks to the lay-by's :) We got Nina a interactive learning game thingy which plugs into the tv (bit like a wii I suppose). And for her birthday (yep, I've already got that organised too!) Heath and I bought her a soccer net and soccer ball (she loves soccer) and from the girls she'll get a styling head thingy so she can keep pretending to play hairdressers.
Oh wow shell, what a fright for you. Glad she is ok.
Jodi- not long now!!! I am all xmas prepared.. the girls getting a trampoline, and Annika came with me for the toy sales and picked her own presents, some skates, this glo magna doodle thing and some other stuff she chose.
As for us, just planning our trip to Surfers in Nov... and enjoying the footy, Got tickets to Thirsty Merc Sat night and also for the Australia Diamonds vs New Zealand Silver Ferns (netball)
and chasing after the girls, netball, calastenics, kindergym etc

Ness- you taking the kids and M to surfers or just you and him? That'll be fun. V.nice there. Ive been loving the footy too, will love it even more when we win on last day in September! Df is bombers so he wasn't happy with the arse kicking your guys gave them.
Nelle- its hilarious some of the things they say, sometimes we have to try not to laugh cause Ash will be all serious so we have to act like its very important but really we want to laugh our heads off.
I have started thinking of Ash's birthday, she wants to have party at the playcentre so trying to find friends for her to invite.
It was really hard to think of something for Nina for xmas, the other 2 were easy. But I found something eventually. And I've decided (like 30 seconds ago!) that for Nina's party, we're going to have a dress up tea party :) I think the kids will love that. We're going to hire a kids entertainment group to entertain the kids so that should be fun. And it should free up my time as well, considering I'll have a newborn baby to deal with as well. My nanna & sis (a new nephew) will be coming up for her birthday too.
That must have been a huuuuuge surprise for you with Emily's allergy.

I better get my finger out and get Vy's party started. We're inviting all of her kinder group to our house. We bought a jumping castle years ago and have enough stuff in our backyard to entertain little kids. Vy has asked for a dress up party. Its her first party ever so its going to be big.
Nelle - its so good to hear that River is talking so much. Very heart warming to say the least :) . I have to get onto our early intervention team up here for Mateauz. We have been waiting for the speechy to call us for 5 months and nothing.
Jodi - Ive done everything now too...so happy to have to not worry aobut it. I put Wilhelms and Mateauz bfday pressies on layby at the same time...one of the good things aobut having 2 in January. Hope your resting up hon

what are we going to do next year girls? Our babies are going to be 5 :crying: then and getting ready for school. It doesnt feel like that long ago we all started out together.
Its sad to see we've lost some people along the way :( but life gives us lots of corners and different roads to travel down. Ive gotta say that I have gotten so much out of this thread from you all. The friendships, the learning curves, the highs and lows. I wouldnt change a thing, thank you all for being a wonderful influence in my life.

Maz, I am so ****ed with our renos our tiler was due yesterday I busted my ass cleaning the extention on tuesday missed a playdate to get it all done missed jacks craft class yesterday waiting for tiler he was a no show no ph call either and still nothing today :angry: as soon as he is done painter comes in then carpet is laid and we can use that area which will give us a huge 8 x 6mtrs lounge family room, 2nd bathroom toilet, 4th bedroom heaps of bulit in cupboards, and new laundry that is hidden.....our old lounge dining 5 x4 will become just a dining room :dance: the next big thing is the kitchen probably be a few months before jase tackles that we are talkign bout ripping out a wall and turnign the new dining into a huge open plan kitchen dining...so excting... I read bout your bathroom renos on FB YAY!!!!! when ours is all finished I will be posting pics, Jase has done everything himself the only help was the concret being laid, and we had a waterproofer to come in and a plasterer jase put all the gyprock up but we got a prof to do the plastering :) I'm so proud of jase
well we have finally foudn winter OMG it is so cold here, tuesday was lovely yesterday so so today its 11c inside my house and god knows what outside haven't ventured its cold and wet

Jodi- you got Nina tramp last year didnt you? We are thinking because the amount Annika loves it, in enrolling her in trampoling classes... my cousin doesit and is already teaching her stuff which she picks up quite easily
ness - yeah, and she loves it! There's a place here that does cheerleading/gymnastic classes for kindy kids (ages 3-5) on Sat mornings that I'm going to take Nina too. I reckon she'll love that.
Jodi- 2 weeks to go! And counting. Dress up tea party sounds like a great idea. How was Dora on sat?
Meg- Yeah we should do that invite our kids to each others, I think our playcentre is min 8 and outside family we don't have many friends.
Maz- not sure on how severe and what nuts, waiting for allergy testing, was scary! Ikwym too, feels like just yesterday we were all pregnant, its been great tho having everyone here, just made parenting that bit easier knowing I had the support here and could always get kind words and advice.
Rach- saw on FB you weren't having the best of days with Jack, when does he start his half day at CC? :hug:
Ness- we bought trampolibe last year, Ash loves it, trampoline classes sound heaps fun too, I want adult ones.
Anyone know any classes that are open ages? I'm sick of everything being set ages and I can't do much cause means someone has to sit out and watch.
Shell- i have just entrolled the girls in ten pin bowling, and they say anyone can do it.. as long as they can push the ball down to ramp then they can participate!! not too bad price either $6.50 a child a game.
shocking day shell absolutly shocking :wall: they should have rung me today but the woman who was filling in isstillthere and they know i wont put him in if she is there so :dunno:
ness - thanks so much for the idea of bowling. I phoned our bowling centre today and the league starts this week, so both girls are now booked in!! YAY!!!!! :)
Ooh can't wait til Emily can do it, great idea. I should start family one, I love bowling, not very good tho!
James has just been diagnosed asthmatic. What else can my poor little boy get? It seems that everything that can go wrong, does for him...
:hug: I hope it's mild, and that it's something he grows out of. My BIL apparently had really bad asthma as a kid and I don't think it troubles him now. xo
Does he have to take inhalors or anything Meg? I know some kids are on preventor ones and others just carry ventolin for when needed. Poor thing. Hopefully he does grow out of it and doesn't have serious attacks of it.
oh poor thing. I've had it since I was a baby. Since becoming an adult it has become a rarity, but my childhood years with it were awful. :hug:

We had our first bowling session last night, it went fairly well.. so hard to watch 3 little girls while its not their turn...
We took the girls bowling Saturday just gone Ness, Nina absolutely loved it! Poor dh had to run around after Emily though, she got bored after 5 minutes lol. But we'll definitely be taking Nina back each Saturday, it's all she's been talking about lol

SHell - He has a spacer with the inhaler and he is taking it really well.
With the bowling, I a m assuming it is bumper bowling - Do you use ramps or just a bowling ball?
