you must think i am terrible, N goes 4 days still even though i am on mat leave. though to be honest i actually do think it is best to keep to their routine as much as poss.
Rainy - if you ever want anything from ikea and i am in melb tell me, my mum lives around the corner from the richmond one so i frequent it. it is a scary place though!
clare - i wouldnt be happy re the house... i hoep you get the other one.
arte - is that a trick question???? if the baby is a boy we wont name him til 8 days after his birth, if it is a girl you will know the name straight away...

Rainy - yep DH saw the pics and was stoked. I was hoping Sarah would have been safe for another year or two but nope, he's looking already. My mates son has his own little bike and his grandparents got him his own little riding pants and jersey...super cute.
As for the swine flu, yep I would be ringing 13 Health and sussing it out. Just to be on the safe side. Hope your friend sets better quickly


Oh, and please stop torturing me about Ikea. There is none up here and I need a fix. Thankfully, I'm heading to Brissie in 3 weeks so might dump sarah with mum and duck down there. Although, I say duck but its never a quick peek in there. More like a planned military attack lol

Rainy, I would suggest what the other girls have all said - just tell your visitors that your routine is important and that they have to work around the kids. Everyone reasonable would be fine with that. Bummer about the swine flu, hope J is o.k.

MM, don't go into work! You will heal faster if you give yourself time to rest - drop M off at daycare and spend the day on the couch watching crap TV my dear.

JaZaH, was wondering how you were. Hope all is well with everyone

I am really enjoying this last bit of time with just the three of us, W is at such a lovely stage. The other day he was outside pottering around with DH and I asked if he was having a good day and he said "William real happy" and then he sat beside me and started to sing! So adorable!

He is also becoming a Mr Know-it-all (although I am not surprised since he is my son). The other day I asked him to pass me a mallet - the big one that looks like a hammer, only to be told "that one not like hammer - it too big"!
And his memory is amazing! I asked him what he and DH did in the weekend and he can tell me the town they went to, the park the played at and what he played on, he saw a digger digging dirt, the tailgate fell off the dirt truck (but they put it back on), the shops they went to, what he had for lunch and even the flavour of ice-cream DH let him have.

Arte I am so in awe of W & his talking & his memory!! I just read that little paragraph about W out to DH & he is just as amazed as me. What a smartie, he sounds like such a lovely little boy to have around.

PAP - No I dont think thats bad lol. I agree with keeping them in their normal routine. I just usually keep M at home if I am not going in to work, but I think I have a good excuse this time so I'm ignoring the guilt.

Asha is pretty full on atm, spose im not helping the situation eating pizza shapes infront of her at quatre to 9 and telling her she cant have any haha!! im soooo mean!! 35wks passed by on sunday.. cant believe its getting so close!! bubs slowed down alot lately which has had me worried too even though i still get plenty of movement i think im just paranoid! lots of pre labour and period type pains too which is making me exhausted so i just havnt been on much lately and when i have ive been reading rather than posting..
rainy - i too am very jelous of the trail bike haha!! i think i want one for Ash more than dh probably does lol i grew up around bikes and my dads a riding instructor so maybe he can buy her one for her birthday hahahahaha they have a pretty huge backyard she could ride it in too!! as everyone else said probably a good idea to get jimmy checked out but if he dosnt have any symptoms im sure he will be fine.. ur poor friend will her bub be ok?

arte - will is soooo gorgeous! it sounds like the day with DH went really well... did they both enjoy it and did you enjoy the mummy time? now make it a regular thing girl. you are going to need some time to yourself and you deserve it. yep it is a jewish tradition to name boys publicly on the 8th day (when we also do a circumcision)... thats why you had to wait for N's name...
Rainy - i agree with the others re jimmy and the potential swine flu... better to get checked maybe? i am sure you friend's bub will be ok - can she take the tamiflu when preg? poor thing, i am sure she feels bad too...
i hope ange is having a fabbo time in fiji... such a well deserved holiday for her and the family.

i am off to ob at 1220 today, i wonder if he will have any news for me. i am getting more back pain and some period like pain.. but nothing major. weird to think N was born in the equiv of 2 days from now... but dont think we will have a repeat of that... but werid to think this baby looks like s/he could look when born iykwim. thats kinda freaky...

Arte - I too am amazed at Ws comprehension, memory, speech...well everything really. Would you mind if I sent Sarah over for a few weeks to let W rub off on her a bit? She could sure use some more words...her fav is 'ow' and its all the time lol.

Well Sarah and I are now no longer officially joined at the boob/mouth. That sounds weird but DYKWIM? She has not had booby juice for 3 days now and is not fazed. Shes going to sleep just as well as when she would have boob before bed. She hasn't tried looking for it yet and I'm not upset by it at all. I'm stoked that we made it this far and it wasn't a conscious decision to stop just happened. :dance:

Rainy, I just did a quick&dirty librarian search for you - govt advice is that the " Incubation period ? up to 7 days but most are apparent within 1-3 days. " So you are right, you should know by now BUT you won't really be able to relax completely until Fri...if I were you I'd be taking his temp a couple of times a day and first sign of the tiniest increase I'd be hotfooting straight to the drs for some advice & reassurance! Most cases are mild, so try not to worry too much :hug:

MM - what were you thinking girl??! Ah, I know, you just want life to go back to normal (uh huh, I hear you sista) ...but you really need to rest and recuperate. Take some time, do something nice, a bit of retail therapy (online if you can't manage getting out the door), watch lots of DVDs and have a good cry, get the word out so your gfs can pop in for coffee. xxx BTW - goes without saying, send M to daycare!!! It keeps everything 'normal' for her, kwim?

Pregpan, I wake up everyday and wonder if baby PP is here yet! LOL Hope you get to see your OB and not that midwife today!!

Arte LOL at your know-it-all. Get ready for some really fixed opinions over the next year LOL. Amazing that W can talk about his day like that. Missy E talks about stuff that happened at FDC but it's a bit hard sometimes cos I can't always piece together what she is telling me. I still need context to understand her speech LOL.

Is anyone else loving Playschool at the moment? Miss E is entranced (tv head that she is) but Playschool seems to be the new favorite.

Ok no work for me today, just waiting for M to wake up so I can feed her & send her down to daycare. She is having a little morning sleep as she was up at 5am, so I gave her some toast & milo & she happily downed all that & wanted to go back to sleep. So just waiting, waiting, waiting....

MD - Yes you of all people would u/stand wanting to get things back to normal atm! However my little issue is nothing compared to what you are going through. Crumpet, how gorgeous, I guess crumpets are a big brekky fave in your household. As for 'mine', M hasnt discovered that yet but no doubt its waiting to pop out, as we have the whiney 'nooooooo' & I noticed some kids at daycare are doing the 'mine'. Hehe such a typical toddler word!

PAP - Oooooohhhh will it be a girl or a boy, I am dying to know. As for naming on the 8th, wow, so say if bub was born shortly after the 8th July would you then have to wait till the 8th Aug to officially name etc? Do you have names in mind yet?

Noni - They do say that bubs start to slow down around now due to their size, however dont ever feel embarrassed etc to have the nurses check you out, if you have any worries. So much better to be safe than sorry. I am the same as you, I am a paranoid, stress head, major big time worrier when it comes to pregnancy, well I was with M anyway, I WAS more relaxed this time around. I remember rushing down to the hosp at 23 wks because the movements had slowed down, I felt like an idiot knowing at 23 wks the baby was still small, however the amount of women down there doing the same thing was reassuring & the nurses dont mind at all. So keep that in mind!

Don't even think that way my dear. You have lost a baby, gone thru a horrible hospital experience, you now have to deal with the physical pain and tiredness of recovery, not to mention all the uncertainty etc with future pregnancies!!! That's huge, and you should just feel sorry for yourself for a bit. :hug:

You are right about crumpets being a favorite food - they've been really cheap this winter (Golden crumpets has a competition on right now) and Missy E is obsessed ever since I let her butter the crumpet and spread the honey with me LOL.

We've just started getting the whiney noooooo! too. But the one that does my head in is when she says "Mummy...Mummy...Mummy...Mummy" and pats me even tho I am right there and looking and paying attention to her, waiting for the next thing she's about to say LOL.

Awww thanks MD! We have found crumpets to be cheap as well, also the ready made pikelets. Lots of two for one offers. I hear you on the mummy, except for me its 'mama'

Dropped M at daycare & she cried, didnt want to go at all. They are so clever, I swear she knew something was up. Probably because I was wearing my daggy johns instead of my normal work attire hehe. Bet she knew mama will be at home all day, no doubt she will be having a ball as I write this though.

Girls we are getting foxtel today. I have always said no to it, as its not something we need. However I spent last wk in hospital watching a show called 'Nick 6' on Nickelodeon channel & I now have the hots for the sexy 17 yr old boy on it. I told DH & he is stoked hehe, he is just glad to be getting foxtel. So bring on the perving!!!!!

pap-my friend can't have tamiflu cos of the baby. they think the baby will be fine as long as it doesn't lead to pnumonia.

Rainy, glad J is so far o.k. Personally I wouldn't worry about it, every case of swine flu that goes to hospital makes it on the news here, meanwhile a dozen or so grannies have kicked the bucket from the regular flu (like happens every winter) and no one makes a fuss. Pregnancy is going well. Went to the midwife yesterday and bub is apparently already 4/5th engaged. I am sure it pops up and moves around though, it seems to fidget a lot.
I didn't show DH the dirtbike pics lol. He already wants to get W a grass cart of some kind, didn't want to encourage him too much.

PAP, I always find it creepy to imagine a fully formed ready-to-go bub inside. DH's cousin had a 35 weeker who was a perfect real baby, just small but there is no way I could imagine a fully baked baby inside me once I hit 35 weeks. I tend to imagine them skeletal and see-thoughish right up until they come out, my mind just can't cope with a real person living in there.

MM, hope you are resting up. Yay for foxtel!

DH is away for a work 'retreat' tonight and I am bored already. Makes the day so much longer when I don't have DH coming home to look forward to. And he managed to put his cell phone through the washing machine this morning so I suspect that I can't even ring him.

oh arte i hate it when dh is away. i count down the hours till he gets home. mainly so he can entertain lewis for a while. they go out and do secret mens business like dirt bike riding, chopping wood, working on the boat...while me and jimmy chill.

my dad and i went to the cute kids wear shop up the road this morning cos he was gonna buy lewis a new jumper and it was closed on tuesdays grrrr so then i made him come into the baby shop with me and buy jimmy one of those cosy blankie things for the pram, ha ha. it's very cute with a pirate on it.had to score some sort of grandpa present ha ha

arte - is dh back home again today - i hope so it is so boring when you are stuck at home by yourself.
rainy - i love the sound of secret mens business... i need to get that happening here. latest though is that my dh takes N to the war memorial each sunday to see the helicopters which N LOVES!!!! it gives me a couple of hours off...i love it!! N used to prefer dh to read all his books to him (we read SO MANY it is outta control) but unfortunately he now prefers me to read them which is a bit annoying LOL!!

my ob appt went ok yesterday, i had to ask for the internal which is a little bizarre as it is written pretty clearly on the ante natal card.. anyway my cervix is soft but closed (dont know what that means yet, better do some reading). i have had lots of period like pain over night but nothing to get too excited about so i guess this one will stay put for a while... i dont mind at the moment, i am quite relaxed about it at this stage (today LOL!)...

PP: hmm, now you mention it i never got an internal at my 38 week appt. that said, he did say that he prolly wouldnt see me at the following appt cause bubba was so close to arriving... (she came the following day). i also had my cranky pants on that day so maybe he felt it was better if i left them on LOL!

MD: we get the 'fake' cuddles. when DD has no idea what to say or do but wants me to make her decide she goes in for a cuddle...she has this particular face she pulls that is a mix of 'oh man, i cant believe i have got to do this'...with, 'ok at least its something'. :rolleyes: such a drama queen my kidlet.

Arte: i feel for ya sista. i hated it when DH worked away in the gong for 6 months. the moment he left i would go into waiting mode and only re-animate when he got home.

AFM: well all crap here. lost the dream house to a well-to-do architect that wants a wee project for his mid-life crisis (his words) and offered 20k above us (we were the next highest bid, so imagine). we are completely gutted. even the realtor was pretty upset for us (he really thought we would get it). AND AF arrived in full-force last night so have been in agony (thanks to the endo). so yeah, a crapulent week. i'm hormonal and homeless...not a good combo LOL!

i dont think the 38 wk internal is standard, i doubt it, he had written it on my card bc of my super quick labour at 39 wks last time.. lol at the cranky pants, i seem to have them on every couple of days as well. i thought i was rather happy yest but the receptionist there asked me if everything was ok when i came out as 'you dont look happy'. that is sooooo crap about the house, my heart goes out to you. couldnt he have just had an affair or something for his midlife crisis, and left your dream house alone!

PP: well, i think i was def at the 'over it' stage and Leila was SOOOOO engaged that i couldnt actually sit on my bum, i had to sit kinda on an angle on my leg ITMS. Also, i kept having BH contrax on the table for the ultrasound and i couldnt actually get off the bed (it took DH and Robson to get me off LOL!)...i was so glamorous LOL! and maybe the crankiness was a sign....cause i had no patience for anyone...
