hi girls!
i have been MIA big time lately as it appears that '3' internet company is crashing in victoria ATM . happy i called as now we dont actually have to pay until it is fixed (it would seem that if we didnt call they woulda just continued making us pay...).
ANYWAY...
Noni:  i am so so certain that you have made the right decision. i reckon that Arte was right, the newborn phase is so fleeting and we just gotta do what we can to enjoy it in the best way possible. Little W has gotten so much from those initial B/F and you can be so proud of getting so far! dont be too hard on yourself babe xx
MD: sending you all the bestest essay vibes i can...
JaZ: *snap*! i used to get that ice-cream at my Oma's house too! LOL! i also would be extra norti and mix it with milo...it would melt soooo good.
MM: eeep. that does sound shocking. although to me, it sounds like a virus....although true, bacteria can give you fever....maybe it was the chicken? hope you got your money back on the undercooked kebab! i had that happen where they FORGOT to cook it entirely and i took a big bite...luckily that it was really raw as i spat it out straightaway, but boy was it gross as.
i wonder how leanne is going in the US of A...wish i was there!
PP: wow, that is alot of visiting by the rellos. i would go insane in the brain LOL! i have no advice for the Mastitis. was lucky not to have had it last time. hope that it clears quickly for you, i can imagine that it aint a barrel of laughs.
Arte: oooh that toddler honesty! i had to laugh though...man imagine if he came to my house :o. he'd have a fit ATM. so messy...
Rainy:  that is AMA

hi girls.....
look out for rainy's new name soon!
arte- i wish you lived around here, i would be inviting W around just to get the name outta him LOL
clare- that sounds BAD!!! the poor little thing. is she ok now?
-
forgot to say, pap=i hope it's not mastitis, that thing nearly killed me!
-
holy moly clare. Do you think it could have been a reaction to the bonjela? i guess not with a temp though....... what a day you had.
Rainy- Nooooooo, no more name changes, i can 't keep up. :p You'll always be G to me. Actually i was thinking of changing my name too. Well i was thinking of signing up again as a new user so i'm not attched to all my posts. I'm not usually a very public person and feel a bit vulnerable after the posts around the fires iykwim. I guess it doesn't really matter. but i have been thinking about it. btw- so jealous of Jimm'y sleep. Good work Jimmy.
Katie - how's that house cleaning going? Got it whipped into shape yet. My mum and dad come up yesterday so i actually got to vacuum.
ooooh Preg- Mastitis not good. My MIL sound like yours, very well meaning but drives me up the wall. hubby wants to go and visit them when he finishes work, we will, but i already want to come home.
Arte- I'm so pleased for you that W is sleeping better. It must have been a bit daunting the thought of getting up to two of them regularly.
Kate- will be thinking of you tomorrow.
Jaz- your nephew is very cute! The farm stay looks like fun. Next time you can just come and visit me ok? Hubby took Lu and my Dad for a drive to check on the calves yesterday. Lu helped feed a motherless calf some milk, she loved it. She wouldn't stop talking about it.
MM- So if Sundays is his sleep in day....... when's yours? You work long hours too. :p Man i must be the worst wife!
MD- i feel bad whining about thrush in my throat, it's not a patch on how you must be feeling. how was the kid free weekend????? Was the party good?
Well, not a lot to report here, having a crappy day really, wondering if AF is on the way or if i'm just tired and emotional. dunno. Sas is going well, rolls around like a mad woman and does 'the worm' across the floor sometimes. I think i'll have another early mover. Lu is going very well. She loves colors at the moment. She gets a bit mixed up sometimes but is pretty good. She has started saying to me "Go away mummy" If she is doing something she shouldn't be, or knows i'll take something off her. It doesn't usually bother me, but last she told ,e. "no, go away mummy, granny seat" :( She wanted granny to sit next to her. whatever. as if i care. (who's the 2 year old now? :p)
-
ange- i totally get why you want a new identity. i felt really vulnerable when my name was gracie, like i was too exposed.
i have felt like af is on the way for weeks but then she never shows.
question- is A2 milk good for excema prevention?
-
depends if the eczema is related to the casein protein in milk...... a lot of people who have issues with the protein in regular milk find they don't have the problem with A2 as it is a different protein. It certainly helped Lu's eczema switching over. Eczema is very often food related. It is worth a shot, the milk tastes good and is easy to get....
-
rainy: i was wondering the same thing. i used to get eczema as a kid and remember that milk would set it off, then i saw the bad ad for A2 milk and it got me thinking. so i was thinking of trying it out (i still get areas of dryness when i have too much milk...or stress...).
leila is much much better today. although very much still only wanting mummy. daddy can go walk for all she cares today. poor man, he really feels it too.
ange: :o didnt think that the bonjela might be a culprit...egad. now i'll have to google LOL!
-
girls, lewis has woken up from his nap with a temp again- 38.5. what should i be doing at this point? it's 2 days in a row.
-
WELL HELLO GINGER!!!
hmmm tricky, robin barker (my font of information LOL!) reckons that below 39 is ok (ie it is a fever that is working to fight the bug). HOWEVER, i reckon that if he is grumpy, not himself, not wanting to eat, or lethargic, or you are worried, then a trip to the GP is in order IMO. there could be underlying infections going on that the doc can look for...ie ear infections can be tricky to pick up without a GP looking in the ear ITMS.
-
i think you're right.
he is all of the above- lethargic, whingy, off his food.
-
Ginger, I am probably slack with temps, as long as he is drinking and not too lethargic then I just keep an eye on him at home. BTW, did I tell you that W wanted to call the baby Ginger if it was a girl lol?
-
I wanted to call Jimmy Ginger if he was a girl!!
-
Woot woo Ginger.......... very noice. If your worried then I would take him to the GP it cant hurt.
Ange I say go for it with the new identity. It will be like a fresh start but all your friends will still know who you are.
-
hey everyone,
had the check up for William today and he put on 100g which is pretty good.. he still has a long way to go because hes 185g off his birth weight still.. dr said tho that hes looking much better now and hes happy for us to see him in 2 weeks unless ofc we have any concerns any earlier.. he also said that now that he should have caught up a bit i should try to stretch him out between his feeds so hes drinking larger amounts instead of lots of small ones but to do it slowly and not stress over it too much even 10 minutes more is better... he said try and get it going so hes not having shorter than 3 or 4 hour gaps between his feeds that way he should drink larger amounts and not get stuck in a grazing pattern where he dosnt put on much weight..
ginger - i hope lewis gets better asap.. i have heard that under 39 isnt a temp but i think if hes not himself its best to get him checked out..
anyways im off to wash bottles haha the joys of formula feeding!!
-
well hello ginger! gorgeous name for a gorgeous girl! i would be going to the dr if he is lethargic and off his food... it cant hurt and better to pick something up early if there isan infection.
noni - soundslike all is going well and you def did the right thing. thats great that dr doesnt want to see him for 2 wks. that must be a relief. with the stretching out feeds and no gain on grazing - is that a FF thing? J still feeds really often... so i am just wondering
AFM - yep it is the dreadedmastitis.. and it KILLS! anyway i have anti bis now and basically fed and slept all day... (thankfully j obliged) and dr sent me to have ultrasound on it tomorrow as app that helps clear blockages and give pain relief. so hopefully it wont hang around too long...
sorry no more personals i feel too awful.
-
G- i'm stoked i can call you G again! woot. I must admit though my brother saying "ginger minge" does pop into my head when i read it! sorry.
PAP- I have never head that about US and mastitis.... i have heard of therapeutic U/s but not diagnostic being used in a therapeutic way IKKWIM. whatever works though hey? hope you feel better asap.
Noni- glad things are going better for you today.
Havn't heard about png....that can't be good sign. Ah well, maybe SA. DH did have a call to see if he was interested in a jobb in holebrook (sp?) Is that near you Tril?
-
Hi girls!
Just wanted to pop in and say a big congratulations to Noni & Pregpan :) What handsome little boys!
Clare - Saw some pics of your two girls, they are just absolutely gorgeous!!!! AnneGeddes will be giving you a call any day now I think :)
Well done xx
xxx
-
pap - my boobenheimers are aching in sympathy for you :( Hope the abs clear it up really quickly. 2 weeks until the in-laws return...I bet you're counting down the sleeps ;)
ginger - such a sexy name - are you calling dh Gilligan?? That's fantastic that Jimmy slept through the night. I had a great time babysitting my nephew yesterday - would have been a little easier if dh had have been there, but I managed to get him and Hannah to sleep at the same time, so i was able to do my shopping order before they woke up.
How is L tonight?
Arte - great that W slept through the night for you. Did you wake up through the night or did you make the most of it and had a good sleep?
Ange - What a wonderful thing for Lu to be able to do with her Daddy - without having to leave her home to do it.
Kate - hope the counselling session went well.
noni - glad W is gaining weight. You're sounding much happier now :)
md - how is the essay going?
renee - i saw pics of R on Fb. That rash looked so nasty. No wonder you were freaking out.
-
Yes I was freaking out, especially when my neighbor told me to get to the hopital ASAP because it could be Meningococcal!! My Paramedic MIL told me it was chickenpox, then the Pharmasist told me it was Measles. *sigh* Luckily the Dr knew what it was almost instantly.
LOVED the pics of your Farmstay! The girls look like they had a ball :) I bet you spent a few days doing their washing when you got home LOL!!
-
hi renee, great to see you dropping by
ange- is holbrook where the submarine is?
if so, they have a nice bakery.
pap-oohhh mastitis sux, you poor thing. i felt like i was going to curl up and die when i had it. horrible horrible thing. i really hope you feel better soon.
jaz-you must be an expert getting them both asleep at the same time like that! well done! howdid hannah cope with having a crawler around? i always wonder what lewis is going to do when jimmy is crawling, like if he's going to try to jump on him or something!
-
ummm, not sure G, i just know it is in NSW!!! But the job isn't what he's after anyway. ;) How's L this morning?
-
morning everyone,
just jumping on while the kids are still asleep!! yep asleep!! Billy has been up a couple of times to feed but Asha hasnt gotton out of bed yet.. she sleeps so much better now she hardly ever comes in with us and often sleeps in its great :D!! shame i have to wake her soon coz shes got swimming lessons ohh well..
feeling like a new woman here.. William is so content now its easy to put him down and get things done and now that ive caught up a little bit on sleep i feel much better.. i feel like i can manage the two of them and even get other stuff done too.. my best friend is coming up for about a month and when i first heard i was actually a bit negative about it (not to her) because he was still so difficult and i didnt think i would manage having company and going out more etc but now im looking forward to it.. i even got up this morning before i had to because Asha is still in bed and put a load of washing on and had my breakfast at the computer hehe hope this new found energy and attitude lasts!!
pap - it can be a problem with breastfed babies but its not anywhere near as common.. my neice had that problem she fed so frequantly that she wasnt getting enough coz they were shorter less efficient feeds.. she wasnt gaining weight properly tho if hes gaining weight and all else is well i wouldnt worry about it hes probably just going through a growth spurt or something and itll be great for ur supply!!
renee - thanx for the congrats :) hows rory doing now? i saw the pics on fb poor little thing must have given u a huge scare!! u can try some zyrtec or polaramine (both available from the chemist) to bring his rash down if the drs havnt already suggested something..
jaz - thanx i do feel much happier i feel like things are how they should be now.. i mean id rather him be breastfeeding but hes such a content little boy now i can balance things with both kids much better :)
-
