LOL Cally - I hope there are no weird noises tonight! That reminds me, Rainy i think you should go to your dads, especially as you get freaked when home alone...
Bummer on the Oobi but glad you said something as i was about to buy J a pair - i always loved them and wanted to get for N but he was too big... so i thought i would buy for J but if the buttons are cr*p then i wont bother. bummer as they are gorgeous - maybe i can look for a pair in the older style for him. geez a lot of thought goes into his clothes and i cruise around the place looking v worse for wear LOL
Arte - your day on the boat sounds sooo nice, and i bet W LOVED it. it sounds like you will still be able to enjoy some of that life even with the newbie but shame they dont make life vests that small. though i think even putting J in a life vest would freak me out. hearing all of these adventures really makes me want to do more 'active' things with N.
MD - hope you avoid the green monsters.. thats the last thing you need. the weekend sounds FAB and the cake sounds beautiful. what special friends you have.
I am feeling a bit low today and DH and I have been 'at each other' for a few days. he claims it is bc i am so tired... anyway had a bit of a nap this morning and i am have a lay low day (made easier by the rain here today) - will pop out to the supermarket now (havent been since J born and believe it or not i really miss it) and then maybe have a big cooking session this afternoon, i always feel better after that and i hate not having healthy food/meals in the house.
-
Cally, glad you got some sleep. Bit lacking here, I nearly fell asleep on the couch this arvo and woke up to W crying because he had shut himself in the bathroom.
Isn't the difference between boys and girls amazing!! Your girls are so into their dollies, W is obsessed with cars/boy stuff. He drives his cars all over the place, they go over hills, through mud, he lines up firewood for them to drive over lol. The other day he couldn't get a dolls pram up the stairs at daycare so he pulled it from the front saying "got a winch, winching it out...."
Rainy, I have been thinking of you often - our naptimes are very sucessful with a quick kiss and a bottle in his direction now. It is fantastic. And DH has done it a couple of times at bedtime and it has worked! So much better. The night sleeping is going o.k. He gets up 1-4 times each night, but the chance of an 'I want mum' tantrum are decreasing and we can usually just pop him back in bed and he will go to sleep with one of us just sitting on the bed for a few minutes.
-
Please to hear you got a good stool sample Trill! ;) Popcorn for a day eh? i could do that.
Rainy- you know my answer. i'm a chicken though. Interview went really well, his downfall is that he has only really been in one job for 3 years. On his resume he has moved around a bit. But that's how he has all the varied experience that he has IYKWIM. So we are waiting, should hear by the end of the week. They are ringing his referees so thats a good sign i guess. When he rang one referee to pre warn them they said they refused to say anything good because they had a job for him. i too would let him drink out of it if he wants. Not like he'll be doing it forever.
Preg- i hate to agree with your DH, but if you're anything like me, it probably does have a lot to do with sleep deprivation and new baby hormones still playing havoc. Cooking is very theraputic, hope it helps!
Sas weighed this am- 6.5kgs. She's no little-un either!
Feel like i have a golf ball stuck half way down my esophagus. Most uncomfortable. Not sure what it is. Some kind of virus i guess. a bit over being sick though.
-
hi girls!
i am having MEGA internet issues ATM with 3 mobile broadband. i am going BONKERS. so will keep this short and no doubt i cant even see what you guys have written....arghhhh!
Ange: if they are ringing refs then that is a GREAT sign!!!
arte: that is totally awesome that his sleep is getting better! must be great to see that he can do it!
Rainy: i am with MD on this one. reckon it's just an obsession that he needs to work through and will drop like a tonne of bricks when the next fixation comes along. for about 3 weeks leila would only drink from her pink bottle....
Sherie: we sooo go past all the time! stalkers stalkers LOL! i want to get a picture but am too embarrassed while the owners are still there...so probably will wait until a couple of days before settlement...
Oma and Opa are still not great. she is in and out of hossy most weeks. mostly now for the panic attacks, but v serious all the same. she now has been diagnosed with emphazema too... oh happy days.
MD: i call that a sentence!!!! WTG missy E!
arrgh internet going spazzmostic....must go...
(all good here btw!)
-
arte-i'm glad you think of me often at W's naptime- so sweet :)
pap-if you can find last season's overalls (brown and blue) then get them cos they're awesome. if you can only find this season's (red and blue) then don't bother, they're a total pita.
ange-great news on referee calling woo hoo!!!!
md and clare-thanks for your advice- i went out this arvo and bought 2 more of the tomee bottles so at least i can wash the one he is obsessed with! lol
girls check out sep group on fb for a pic of lewis and his best mate in the park yesterday----cuuuuute!!!!!!
-
wow Rainy what a stunning pic - did you get them done by someone???? dont tell me you are just that amazing at taking pics. L is sooo gorgeous! are they the CR jeans? i love them he looks so grown up.
Ange - thanks for being so honest and i dont mind if you agree with DH, i tend to agree with hima lot too (just not today LOL!!). i know i am tired and hormonal i guess i am just feeling like he should make some allowances for that rather than taking the bait all the time. i also feel like i dont get 1 sec of child free time ever... and he kinda doesnt help that ina way as he pushes me to still do 50% of N time as well as everything for J. i am not really explaining myself so well. to be honest i also feel a little isolated, i dont have any friends here with babies J;s age - or even close. they are all around N's age or my friends are back at work... so i am finding it hard socially. i asked to join a mothers group again just to meet some ppl with little babies and was told by the MACH nurses 'no'... so i need to find another way to meet some people with similar age bubs here. i am missing melbourne a lot. geez there's a bit of an outpouring when all i meant to do was say thanks for being honest LOL!
the PNG stuff sounds promising... and great he is so in demand.
We bought a new car - a honda jazz so more of a runaround than our other car - DH is off to pick it up now. YAY!
Cally - i just booked a place in broulee for that week (21-2th oct) so muffins and aplay date it is!! YAY! can i ask do you get optus mobile coverage in broulee - my gfather is v unwell so mum is nervous she wont have coverage. i am so excited for that break, it will be so good for the boys (esp N) to have a week with mum... and i am looking fwd to her cooking and helping me out. i was dreading DH going away (he is away for another week in oct too i think but that trip isnt confirmed). we will prob be back down there at xmas too i cant bear to stay here in canberra at xmas time and DH is working.. (so we can go to NZ in Jan). I love the story of K patting her dolly. sooo gorgeous!
-
pap- what colour car are you getting?
no i didn't take the photo, my best friend did. the jeans are the CR carpenters jeans that i was telling you about. they're gorgeous aren't they?
i know exactly how you feel re: the child free time. there was a while there where i didn't even have a shower for a few days when J was a nb cos i just couldn't iykwim? how gross is that!
do you think you will ever move to melbourne? we could meet at doncaster shoppo and go to CR together LOL there is even an awesome little toddlers' play area there now, lewis was going nuts in there the other day!
-
Rainy - yes we are moving early next year and will either go back oseas if we get a perfecvt position with one of our works or back to melbourne... whatever happens it will be early next year! i cant wait! i am prob more keen to go to melb than oseas but either option would be good and alot better than here. dont get me wrong we have a good life here but i am over it!
I think we would both be bankcrupt if we met at CR - but it'd be a fun way to go down LOL!!!
-
we would totally be bankrupt- especially as there is a shop there that sells oobi too!
-
Preg- The fact that you are tired and emotional definitely means that he should be doing a little more giving than usual! When he has a day at home, does he do a little more? i think that is only fair. The first 3 months were really tough here. I wondered how i was ever going to manage. But the fog soon clears. i promise. Not that it is a walk in the park not, but things are certainly becoming clearer and coping is much easier. I can totally understand your feelings of isolation. I too have been struggling a bit with the move because all my friends are at least a 30-60 min drive away now. i have been going to baby story time at the library and a babies music group. I have met a few people, this might seem horrible, but tbh i can't really be bothered making new friends. I'd almost prefer to drive and see the old ones. Have you asked your not-so-helpful mchn about groups for babies, like music or story time, you might meet some new mums there.......
Rainy- Doncaster + play area for toddlers= my dream day. When we going???
I have the weirdest sensation in my throat. Like i have something stuck in it, hurts to swallow. But it's not up the top where tonsils are, further down, just above my thyroid. hope it's gone tomorrow. driving me crazy. ok.... whine over. sorry!
-
PAP - could you go to a playgroup that even though most of them would be N's age you may meet someone that has a littlie too?? As for Optus coverage, it is a bit intermittent around here, but all the providers are like that. Texts will generally get in and out without a problem (maybe a little bit of wandering around). There is a public phone at the shops (and another at the Muffin Shop) although Telstra have threatened to take them away, but council isn't letting them. We have a landline here if your mum is desperate though!! And if you're coming at Xmas I hope you book in soon - can get very busy!!
I think DH still expecting you to do 50% of N is a bit much. That first 3 months kind of passed in a blur for me, I can remember being so proud of myself staying awake for more than 12 hours straight, I can't imagine having a little toddler to look after that wouldn't let me catch up on some sleep!! Also I know what you mean about not having many friends around, I don't really have anyone here, mine are all in Canberra.
Ange - glad the interview went well, hope your throat feels better tomorrow. Chances of flu are a lot less in PNG I suppose.
Arte - great news on the sleeping!
Rainy - stunning pic!!
No strange noises tonight and K was an angel. I brought the cot mattress out and she just jumped on that and played with her dollies for ages while I was unpacking groceries etc. Also a 30 min bath made the evening without DH go very quickly!!
-
ange- just say the word and i'm there!!
i'm free friday, monday and tuesday LOL
cally- i hate freaky scarey noises, does my head in! we have sooo much wildlife around here, it's like a crazy noisey night jungle
-
cally glad last night went ok... i called optus and they said there is coverage... i willalso see if they can keep the landline on in the house we are renting... and i guess they can always find me at the muffin shop!! LOL!
i haveput my name down for a couple of commujnity based things -a baby massage course and also some baby song sessions - si i might meet some new mums there too i guess. ange ikwym re not being bothered with new friends.. i sometimes feel the same way esp bc we will be moving but just someone at the same stage as me woudl be nice. dont get me wrong i do have ppl to see etc i just really loved going through it all with ppl last time and i miss that and find it a bit isolating. i am lucky to be someone who enjoys my own company i guess.
well i did my first biggish outing with the 2 of them today and it went ok. took N to the physio. they decided not to fit the splints.. partly bc he is quite young and they hope his feet will correct by themselves and partly bc he went mental when they tried to do them after i insisted that he have them as he has to wear shoes at kindy... he went so crazy and was sooo upset - even nat confectionery dinosaurs (a new treat he had never had) didnt do the trick. anyway we have to go back in 2 months. i was nervous to go by myself with the 2of them and of course when we got there J needed a feed immediately and then did a big poo... but all in all it went well.
so.. tell me... what does plat memberhsip allow me?
-
hi girls!
wowsers, i am missing so much! i do miss my BB time...
Kate: i missed your post about the good night out! it is good to know that you are both so keen to have this work; that in itself is a BIG step in the best direction IMO xx
PP: i have a GREAT mothers group in canberra that you might like to hook up with! they are the ones i met the first time around with Leila and they meet weekly (either at at the funfactory or the social club place near bruno's truffles...arghh i cant remember the suburbs name!! you know the one with the gorgeous italian deli....). they are all on round 2 of kidlets with 3 being born in the last 2-3 weeks...if you like i can pop an email to them...they are really lovely...
that's crazy that the MACH nurse wouldnt let you join. and i think a bit reckless. as someone that has been through PND with Leila turning down a mum from socialising is a big no no. and what harm would it be for you to join?? i reckon i would of LOVED to have seen a mum that has gone through the newborn gauntlet and survived!
*off to check out FB*
-
...the photo is gorgeous Rainy!!
-
Clare - thanks for the offer. You know I may be up for that, if they have a few littlies in the mix as well... i would feel a little strange but at the same time it would be good for me. my mothers group the 1st time was good - but there were only 4 of us!! one is now a v v good friend of mine (she looked after N when i was in labour - knows a lot of ppl i grew up with) but the other 2 didnt really stay in touch so we arent really a mums group iykwim. i agree with you it is pretty bad the mach nurse said no to me joining, i mean what harm would it do?? and i agree with you, iw as asking for some social stimulation - i am ok emotion wise at the moment but what if i wasnt and i wa sreaching out? i findit v strange.. i might try again at my 6 wk check up. i do feel more vulnerable this time to be honest and i need to put some structure in place for myself.
-
Hey everyone!
 PP. I have heard of that happening with mothers groups and being excluded once you have a second bub. A playgroup is definitely the way to go - Mums with bubs of all ages and it's usually only for 1.5-2hrs so it's not a huge outing and the kids love it. Even if you don't make close friends, it's still someone else to talk to to share the load kwim. Great to hear that N doesn't need the splints though. I guess you just make sure he always has well fitting shoes and he should be right.
Clare, hehe I knew you would be driving past the house ;) I'm sorry to hear that your Oma has emphysema now on top of everything else. It would be making the anxiety attacks harder on her too because of it.
Cally, it makes so much difference to you if you get an unbroken sleep doesn't it? That's just gorgeous what she did with the doll.
G, I hear ya on the wildlife front LOL! The other night it was a flipping Plover that was squarking at 1am down on the dam so I went outside and threw a heap of rocks down that way to make noise and make it bugger off. And yeah, don't worry about the bottle because he will ditch it sooner or later.
Ange, that's awesome news they are calling his referees! What does your throat feel like today? I hope you're not getting sick. I could tell Sas was getting chubby from all the holiday pics, she's just too cute!
Arte, Alister is really into cars and trucks too and will play with them for hours. It's funny to see him outside on his own as he copies what he's seen Lindsay done when they make roads and he gets the shovel they use and 'grades' all the roads.
last night Alister and I were looking at some photos of them all because I was looking for a specific one and he's naming everyone in the pics and we came to the ones of him just born where he's getting measured and weighed etc and in one of them it's not really clear, you just see this pink baby in the crib with nothing on and he points to it and says "PIG!" cause I guess to him it looked like a little pink baby pig but I explained to him it was him and then he kept saying 'me baby' it was so funny.
-
LOL that story made me laugh trill!
well...seeing as how the photo of lewis and ruby on fb was such a hit, i've popped one in there of jimmy sam~check it out!
-
sherie - great idea re the playgroup - i will try to find one on a friday when i have them both with me...am sure i will get it all sorted, i just like having some structure etc. i am good at spending loads of time by myself, but when i know i dont HAVE to LOL! and i like having mums around with bubs at the same stage just to check things with.. liek how often i can use saline in his nose (he has a terrible cold atm - we al do courtesy of Noah), is it ok that his baby acne is on his chest etc too?, you know all the little things we worry about that someone else would be dealingg with at the same time... i also feel like i have forgetten what it was like with N, ie when things happened, what i was doing so some other mums woudbe good to bounce ideas off...
anyway enough about this, i am making it a muchbigger deal than it is... the good news is DH and i have stopped fighting. i wont admit that having a nap yesterday did help (as did my cooking fest - freezer full of good food now for us all, something less to stress about and cooking is such therapy)
Rainy - off to check FB now
Hope Noni si doing well.
And where is MD? and MM?
trill - what a crack up your little piggy is!
-
Missy E goes to playgroup every friday without me :(. Just not game to hang around all those strangers right now...have postponed kindergym for another term too. But I agree, playgroup a fantastic idea, great idea to hook in with Clare's mummas, and your other ideas are good too PP. I feel a bit isolated here too, but that's kind of a good thing this year (get so stressed about germs) but I know there will be plenty of time to enjoy social things once chemo is out the way. It's not like I don't have an 11 y.o. talking at me until my ears bleed anyway LOL.
Took Missy Snotasaurus Rex to the drs today and a good thing too - ear infection. She's been very disinclined to anything today and has literally spent The Entire Day flaked out in front of the telly/draped across me. The snot has done it's work and I'm feeling really off today too. Noice.
Trill, love your Piggy photo story. That's classic, hope you write that one down in a memory book somewhere.
Clare are you talking about Mawson? Went there a few times with a friend of mine who lived conveniently around the corner - great rendezvous site IMO.
PP - bit jealous of your freezer-full. I've been making withdrawals from my freezer fund but no deposits so we're getting a bit light-on. I'm supposed to do a cookup for my stepmum who's veggo and can't stomach my dad's meat-based cooking but I've run out of zest for now. Wowed everyone on the weekend with my new sweet potato soup recipe, but that was cheating because the whole thing takes literally 20 mins and hardly has any ingredients in it LOL.
Arte - meant to congratulate you on your excellent shelf building. Mr W looks very pleased! BTW I can understand why you all want to get out on that lake, it's gorgeous! Looks so good for the soul, kwim?
-
MAWSON!!! that's the place LOL! thanks MD...
not cool about the ear infection. hope the ABs clear it up quickly, can be so sore to sleep with. leila had one about 2 months ago and the only sign we had (other than crappy sleep at night) was the river of snot....oh.so.nice.
-
yep Mawson is a great place to meet - N loves the playroom there...
md not good re the ear infection but how good is it that they are getting old enough for lying in front of tv when they are sick. i cant wait til N will enjoy a movie... i kinda in a weird way have loveklt memories of bveing sick when i was a kid - watching movies, snggling with mum etc. so in a way ilook fwd to that iykwim
clare i meant to ask in your mums group did you have a girl called amy with a daughter edith? she is a friend of mine and was in the narrabundah mg before mine ( i called 1 day too late to get in). she moved oseas now but LOVED her MG too!
ok i am on the hunt for a friday playgroup now!
arte - where do i see pics of these shelves?
i am soo excited i will see sherie and cally in the space of one month!
ETA justcalled playgroups ACT and they are calling me tomorrow with any suitable playgroups. they also told me there is 'paint and play' starting in narrabundah on a friday (which is when I have N at home too) - this is sooo great as they run one in griffith but it is thu so i miss out... YAY!
-
Arte - PMSL at W 'winching' the dolly pram!! Hillarious, he must give you guys so many laughs during the day. Love the family snaps on FB.
PAP - Ohhhh WHAT!? I cant believe the nurse said no to joining a mums group - did I read that right? I hope that you can meet up with Clare and her mums group, sounds like you need the support of others around you atm! If you go o/seas, where would it be? Gosh you live a glam life.
Noni - So happy for you that the feeding is going well, I'm glad the doc has eased all the worries you have had. You sound like you are doing so well, being a FF mum as well I can imagine its hard work not to want to reach for that bottle, I know I will struggle when the time comes. Keep it up though, doing so well.
Rainy - The pics are gorgeous, L is going to be a heartbreaker. He is a beautiful looking boy. I love his CR jeans, also his cardi is nice too.
MD - What a special friend to make such a nice cake for you guys. Put a pic up on FB?
Clare - Yay you must be so excited about the new place, & relieved that the house hunting is finally over.
It seems last weeks refusal for a daytime nap was just a phase, panicked too early. Mind you I was starting to like it, as we had more time during the day to do things & she slept through the night.
Hi to everyone I've missed, I've been so flat out trying to do uni homework.
-
PAINT and play sounds fantastic!!! do they have them in vic??
-
i am not sure - it is a community run thing here where they set up heaps of activities in a park and the kids roam around. it is in a diff locn each day of the week... i have always missed out as it is on N's kindy days but this one is meant to be, it is baically next door to my house and on fridays. i hope it starts soon.
MM - yep you read that right.. how crazy!!! if we go oseas i am not sure where it woudl be, we are feeling v fussy about where we would go - looking through both of our works but v fussy re location (my Dh is with the govt and I am with a multinational so there are lots of diff opps we just need to find something that suits us both and our family) iw oudl love to go back to london ideally as we haveheaps of fam there and friends already (we moved back here when iw as 3 mnth preg with N). but to behonest i think melb is morelikely for now, and maybe i woudl prefer that. ummm i dont feel like my life is so glam and if you could see menow....
-
Oh how good would London be!! Thats my ultimate dream. How long were you there for?
-
Hey H! I thought you would be busy with that or work. So how is uni going? I have been seriously thinking about going to uni once Alister is at school and doing Primary teaching but I don't know if I could do it kwim? How is Miss M going?
PP, That group sounds absolutely perfect for you and the boys! I loved playgroup when I was taking the kids because you can have entire families of children as it goes from 0-5 years so I'd load them all up and go and they loved it. It was a really small group too - max 20 kids if everyone turned up. I only stopped because Lindsay started preschool and it was too much to take them out 2 days in a row for playgroup then preschool. I wouldn't mind getting back into it with Alister but the one I would have to go to now has far too many 'strong' personalities, to put it nicely ;)
G, I will have to have a look at the new pic in a sec...
MD, that's no good at all that Miss E isn't well :( I hope that you don't get any worse than what you are too  You do realise though that the most simple dishes are often the best ones to have everyone go crazy for - it makes you seem like Nigella LOL. I have loads of dishes that are dead simple to make but look like they are really hard and they are the ones I always use for entertaining.
-
Hi girls!
MM: oh we are so happy about the house! even more so recently as my friend's dad has offered to draw us up plans for the extension (he's an architect!) for free!!! so that is a 20K saving right there...i cant wait to have chickens...
Sherie: it can be done! I studied through open learning when i lived in Fiji and i am currently studying with Leila as young as she is...it can be done! my mum also did a teaching degree when i started school...go for it i reckon!!!!
PP: i didnt realise you had family in london!
that's great news about the paint and play. and so close!! and yeah! Amy was in our group! she was the one with all the great organisational skills to get us moving and explore canberra via all the good cafes LOL! i still keep in touch with alot of the girls from that group...although the group i was thinking of for you was another...yes, i was BAD and joined two! LOL! i was lonely....
AFM: all good here. really really want some lasagna. all this talk of good wholesome simple food has got me going...mmmmmmmmmm.
Leila is a delight as usual. and her communication is skyrocketing. i love being able to sit down at dinner and recount with her our day together....so awesome. i *think* i love the toddler stage the best so far....ask me that when i am in the middle of the terrible 2s!
-
WELL...took Missy E to care this am to hear that one of the littlies there has just been diagnosed with RSV - had a freakout, looked it up and hmmmm...not sure I can't say that we're not the family who brought it to care this time THOUGH another boy was coughing and sneezing about 5 days before E started up. So had the guilts until I read it's not excludable anyway so I guess we're officially sanctioned then LOL... Share and share alike  The other littly is not very sick either so that helps to be cavalier about it too.
PP - agree a return to Europe would be amazing - tho I imagine a very different experience with littlies than before. Though I agree Melb is great too, esp with family there.
Trill, I'll have all your instant-Nigella recipes thanks. God knows I need some sexing up in the kitchen dept PMSL.
Clare I can't wait for you to have chickens. I'd love to have chooks but I'm not sure it's a good idea with BFC The Chicken Eater on the loose.
MM you're obviously a better student than me, i *should* be flat out doing homework but look where I am instead LOL. Glad the day sleeps are back, I predict you'll be glad of them later in the year, when you get back from o/s and you're feeling reeeeeeeally tired ;).
Arte - agree the difference between boys and girls is pretty amazing, tho i think it comes down to the individual as well. DD1 was a whole lot less girly than DD2 is - don't know if that's because of the sorts of games that the day care ladies encourage them to play tho. Current FDC lady has 2 girls so lots of very girl stuff at their house, whereas here we have lots of no-particular-gender toys.
-
hi everyone
Clare - wooo hoo onthe chickens..i want some too.... aaah another pt in favour ofus movingback to melb instead. LOL! yep I am half English and my gparents each had 13 and 6 siblings... so LOADS and LOADS of family everywhere (but esp in London). hook me up baby - i am happy with any new ppl at the moment. Are you still in touch with Amy? I am, how weird we are v good friends.
MD - what is RSV? dont feel bad i think care is a share disease scenario... his immune system will thank you for it in the long run... i hope you dont get sick? I think the games they play at care def play some part - as N seems to like the girls at kindy more than the boys he now has fave colour pink... his fabourite cheeky thing to ask for is 'pink one cookie?' - ie one pink tick tock please... cutie!
Trill - yep post the quickie Nigellas pls....
MM - hope the uni stuff is going ok.
went off to my mum and bub movie this morning - saw balibo. graet movie but go when you are in the mood for something pretty heavy and moving and thought provoking (MD maybe not for you this yr!) - a v diff experience to 'the ugly truth' that was on last week. i felt a bit sorry for the bubs in there with the sudden explosionsetc.
-
md- what is rsv?
trill-i've done a primary teaching degree. you could TOTALLY do it. it's not an overly challenging course and you would be a BRILLIANT teacher. just beware that you fall in love with lots of littlies and want to take them home LOL
PS- i will help you with your assignments LOL
-
It's a respiratory virus, but it can cause nasty wheezing and sometimes bronchiolitis &/or pneumonia in babies. Not noice but vast majority of cases are mild.
Trill - I've done PART of a teaching degree and I agree you so totally would ace it in. You would make a great teacher, after being a full time mummy to 4 you will have the crowd-control element down pat LOL.
PP - yeah saw a bit of the Balibo thing on Margaret & David last night...would love to see the rest of it - have a strong interest in all things Timor ever since forever - having lived in Darwin & known lots of East Timorese refugees it has always seemed v. relevant to me. But not this year LOL. Thinking we'll see Bruno this weekend if it's still on as my sister is taking the girls overnight. Wowee just like real grownups again. LOL at pink one cookie. We haven't had tick tocks yet but I bet Missy E would love them, cookie-monster that she is.
ETA How good is Noah for knowing his pink! Missy E still gets confused with pink/red...for example, she points to the sauce bottle at dinner time and whines for "pink, pink, pink." No it's RED and it's called SAUCE and you can't have any more cos there's still some on your PLATE! LOL
-
Trill - I agree! You should do it. Also there are plenty of us mature age students at uni so you dont feel awkward with all the school leavers running around. My studies are going good but I just dont have as much time as others who dont have kids, for obvious reasons. The trick is to be super organised and keep up to date with home work & readings, & do as much of it as you can when the kids are napping or down for the night.
MD - OH NO on the RSV!!!! That will be a nasty one if your family catches it. HAHAHA thats if I end up getting preggers, YES I will be needing that arvo nap thank you very much miss M!
Clare - $20K thats a great saving, how nice of him to do it for nothing! What extensions do you have planned? How many bedrooms does your new place have?
Dont know if anyone saw my other thread in the babies & toddlers, M had a major collision with an older boy today & came off second best. Whacked her head big time, I dont think I've ever seen her so distraught, & it has never taken her an hr to calm down from something. Also has a huge bruise. She is happy at the moment, but I am too scared to put her down to sleep.

MM I have replied in the other thread with a good link which is worth reading. If you are still feeling worried you can always take her up to see your dr. I'm pretty sure they would squeeze her in. Sometimes it's not worth spending all that time worrying, much better & easier just to get them seen, kwim?

Mm- hope maddie is ok I agree with md just easier to get her seen for peace of mind..
Well we've had a shocking idk maybe 30hrs here lol.. Starting from about 5am yesterday william just decided he wanted to feed all the time.. Even once he was noticibly full he still wanted the boob in his mouth and would cry inconsolably if I took it off him.. I think he had wind as well but he still hasn't pood since friday night so I assume he isn't feeling overly well.. He's reasonably calm now but boy am I exhausted!! I just didn't know what to do so I kept feeding him as much as I could but recently I changed his nappy and it was dark wee, how can I be feeding him so much and this be happening still? I feel so defeated like im trying my best to feed him as much as I can and I seem to have heaps of milk but still he seems he's not getting enough :( I think I might have a blocked duct as well am quite sore on one side and the breast dosnt seem to drain as well as the other side ughhhhhhh winge winge winge!!! Sorry!!!!

hi Noni - whoooaaaah what a day you have had, you must be exhausted! I know those days, we have had a few of them too. Dont get too stressed about it all, i am sure you have enough milk for him, he is prob just enjoying the cuddles and the comfort of feeding and being close to you. if you are worried about your supply maybe try some natural remedies for this - or thingslike akta vite, lactation cookies (thanks Ange) etc. remember it was only a day or 2 ago the gp assured you how well things are going... i think it must be hard when you are usedtobottlesas now you cant see what he is getting - i have wondered about this this time around as J is less of a good feeder than N was (quicker, doesnt drain, oftentakes one side) so i can only imagine if you are used to FF. keep up the great work and look after yourself.
MM i replied in your other thread too - hope gorgeous M is ok and you are too.

noni- have you called the aba 1800 mum 2 mum to talk about what's going on? it sounds like you're doing everything right but just need a bit of reassurance from the lovely aba ladies :)
-
I did call them last night when he was crying and crying coz I was worried feeding him so much would make the constipation worse if he is constipated.. Ofc as u all would know she told me I can't overfeed him n the worst that can happen if he drinks too much comfort feeding is he will spew lol.. She did say he should be pooing atleast once a day but if he does put on weight at his check ups it might just be normal for him.. Fingers and toes crossed for his weigh in tmw technically he should be back to his birth weight tmw night but considering he was only 3kgs on tuesday I doubt he's back to 3.285 tmw bummer! As long as he has put on something encouragng tho ill be happy :)

Hi girls I am so sorry for being such a bad baby buddy lately. I keep meaning to post and then get side tracked. I seem to have so much going on at the moment and am finding it hard to keep up. I am thinking of you all though.
Noni I hope W has put on some weight and you can get the feeding sorted. I didn't think it was unusual for a BF bub to go a while without pooing???? Remember the first 6 weeks are the hardest but everything will fall into place.
