mm - you went to bed late too! hopefully you're still asleep right now. Hannah woke me up at 6am, so now i'm wishing i'd gone to bed much earlier. I have to babysit my 9 month old nephew today as well - and he's just started crawling. Going to be a busy day.
I know Jaz & I am paying the price, while DH sleeps in! But Sundays are his sleep in day, only fair as he works long hrs. I was waiting up for him to come home from bowling last night, I was going to go but had a full day of shopping & M fell asleep in the car after a day of no sleep, & I just put her straight into bed with no dinner, but she slept through so no worries there lol.
Kate, Have been thinking about you, good luck at the counselling. I really hope it helps.
PAP, how is life with the ILs? How long do you have them for? Mine called yesterday and offered to come up and stay to help out while I was in hospital. Nice of them, but I can't think of anything worse lol, people hanging around waiting for me to pop out a baby. And I don't think they considered that it could come any time in the next 5ish weeks, it isn't like they come right on their due date.
JaZaH, your farm stay sounds like it was lots of fun.
Noni, hope you are feeling o.k with your decision to bottle feed. IMO you have done the best thing - there is no point wasting your precious newborn days with an upset crying baby (and mum) when FF can make everyone happier. Especially now that it is bub #2, you just don't have the luxury of spending all day on the new bub.
Rainy, what is the name of the breastfeeding dress place that you were the supermodel for? Someone in my belly group is on the lookout for a BF dress.
The other night W slept from 9pm until 7am, no wake-ups!! DH and I walked around with manic smiles on our faces all day - it has been nearly two years since I have had that much sleep.
art- top secret maternity.
that's great you had so much sleep, you deserve it! i hope it lasts.
i couldn't think of anything worse than having my ILS around the birth either.
i told dh when jimmy was born that he had to keep them away for at least 2 weeks or i would go psycho at her...so he did!
have you got your baby name all sorted?
kate-best of luck with counselling. i hope everything goes really well.
jaz-how did you go babysitting?
md-how was the ****tail party? sounds like fun
well jimmy slept from 10.30pm-5am last night woo hoo!!! but then at 5 i only fed him on one side and he went back tosleep and now my other boob is bursting!
lewis has been sick, poor little thing was throwing up yesterday and ate nothing for the whole day. hopefully he gets his appetite back today
OMG Rainy, that is a great sleep effort from Jimmy!! I hope it is the start of an all night trend. Hope L is feeling better soon, it is horrible when they are sick. We have names, I don't love them but they are o.k and DH and I agree on them. W is blabbing the boy name to everyone, pats my tummy and says "might call him xxx", won't consider that it might be a girl lol
Arte - so cute about W and the name... we didnt tell N that J was a boy or his name for that exact reason. cant trust a talking toddler. N told me I hade 1 bum, 2 bums yesterday. thanks for that!
Kate - have been thinking of you, i hope today goes well - let us know.
Rainy - wooo hooo on the sleep! that is so great. Hope L is better today, those tummy bugs are awful btu at least our boys are now kind of big enoughto handle it.
MD - how was the parteeeee?
Jaz - how did you go supermum and superaunt!
well the good news is the ILs have gone... the bad news is they are coming back in a week or so....
dont get me wrong they are lovely and we get along v well - just v self centred and getting worse... my vent thread got me through the weekend... and numerous texts to my SIL!
girls i think i may have mastitis. well i am not sure. my boob is SO sore all over the top, it hurts like hell wheni touch it and even hurts when i am not touching. it isnt red though. i have fed and drained the boob as best as poss and it still hurts. anyway off to the dr at 4.30 as i dont want to get really sick.
PAP, Yes, in hindsight we shouldn't have told W the potential names - my aunt and cousin got it out of him in one go lmao. LOL at your two bums! Yesterday W told me "mum needs to do sweeping" and then after a further look around "house is too messy". Little dear. Yay for your IL break, nice to see them, nice to see them go lol. Hope you don't have mastitis. Try holding a hot water bottle/wheat pack on it as much as you can.
i have been MIA big time lately as it appears that '3' internet company is crashing in victoria ATM . happy i called as now we dont actually have to pay until it is fixed (it would seem that if we didnt call they woulda just continued making us pay...).
ANYWAY...
Noni: i am so so certain that you have made the right decision. i reckon that Arte was right, the newborn phase is so fleeting and we just gotta do what we can to enjoy it in the best way possible. Little W has gotten so much from those initial B/F and you can be so proud of getting so far! dont be too hard on yourself babe xx
MD: sending you all the bestest essay vibes i can...
JaZ: *snap*! i used to get that ice-cream at my Oma's house too! LOL! i also would be extra norti and mix it with milo...it would melt soooo good.
MM: eeep. that does sound shocking. although to me, it sounds like a virus....although true, bacteria can give you fever....maybe it was the chicken? hope you got your money back on the undercooked kebab! i had that happen where they FORGOT to cook it entirely and i took a big bite...luckily that it was really raw as i spat it out straightaway, but boy was it gross as.
i wonder how leanne is going in the US of A...wish i was there!
PP: wow, that is alot of visiting by the rellos. i would go insane in the brain LOL! i have no advice for the Mastitis. was lucky not to have had it last time. hope that it clears quickly for you, i can imagine that it aint a barrel of laughs.
Arte: oooh that toddler honesty! i had to laugh though...man imagine if he came to my house . he'd have a fit ATM. so messy...
holy moly clare. Do you think it could have been a reaction to the bonjela? i guess not with a temp though....... what a day you had.
Rainy- Nooooooo, no more name changes, i can 't keep up. You'll always be G to me. Actually i was thinking of changing my name too. Well i was thinking of signing up again as a new user so i'm not attched to all my posts. I'm not usually a very public person and feel a bit vulnerable after the posts around the fires iykwim. I guess it doesn't really matter. but i have been thinking about it. btw- so jealous of Jimm'y sleep. Good work Jimmy.
Katie - how's that house cleaning going? Got it whipped into shape yet. My mum and dad come up yesterday so i actually got to vacuum.
ooooh Preg- Mastitis not good. My MIL sound like yours, very well meaning but drives me up the wall. hubby wants to go and visit them when he finishes work, we will, but i already want to come home.
Arte- I'm so pleased for you that W is sleeping better. It must have been a bit daunting the thought of getting up to two of them regularly.
Kate- will be thinking of you tomorrow.
Jaz- your nephew is very cute! The farm stay looks like fun. Next time you can just come and visit me ok? Hubby took Lu and my Dad for a drive to check on the calves yesterday. Lu helped feed a motherless calf some milk, she loved it. She wouldn't stop talking about it.
MM- So if Sundays is his sleep in day....... when's yours? You work long hours too. Man i must be the worst wife!
MD- i feel bad whining about thrush in my throat, it's not a patch on how you must be feeling. how was the kid free weekend????? Was the party good?
Well, not a lot to report here, having a crappy day really, wondering if AF is on the way or if i'm just tired and emotional. dunno. Sas is going well, rolls around like a mad woman and does 'the worm' across the floor sometimes. I think i'll have another early mover. Lu is going very well. She loves colors at the moment. She gets a bit mixed up sometimes but is pretty good. She has started saying to me "Go away mummy" If she is doing something she shouldn't be, or knows i'll take something off her. It doesn't usually bother me, but last she told ,e. "no, go away mummy, granny seat" She wanted granny to sit next to her. whatever. as if i care. (who's the 2 year old now? )
ange- i totally get why you want a new identity. i felt really vulnerable when my name was gracie, like i was too exposed.
i have felt like af is on the way for weeks but then she never shows.
question- is A2 milk good for excema prevention?
depends if the eczema is related to the casein protein in milk...... a lot of people who have issues with the protein in regular milk find they don't have the problem with A2 as it is a different protein. It certainly helped Lu's eczema switching over. Eczema is very often food related. It is worth a shot, the milk tastes good and is easy to get....
rainy: i was wondering the same thing. i used to get eczema as a kid and remember that milk would set it off, then i saw the bad ad for A2 milk and it got me thinking. so i was thinking of trying it out (i still get areas of dryness when i have too much milk...or stress...).
leila is much much better today. although very much still only wanting mummy. daddy can go walk for all she cares today. poor man, he really feels it too.
ange: didnt think that the bonjela might be a culprit...egad. now i'll have to google LOL!
