HAPPY BIRTHDAY RORY!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATIE!! I hope you both had wonderful days.
Happy Birthday Little Katie!!! Hope you had a wonderful day :birthday2: Cally did you do something nice today? I can't remember, it seemed like you had birthday things spread over a couple of weekends?
I've been fretting for Clare, wondering how it's going in Toowoomba. Sending you :hugs: and love if you're reading. xxx
Ginger, how you going sweetie, feeling a bit perkier today?
Arte LOL at you being unprepared - by about 20 degrees worth! Good luck, hope the shopping trip goes smoothly. BTW I think you moving back to NZ was pretty random and cool.
MM - how's M going today?
Noni - how's A - is she getting better now she's on the ABs?
Missy E was delighting us today by running back and forth between DH and me, giving us a big hugs, back and forth, for about 10 mins solid. It was like she couldn't pick who she wanted to hug the most LOL. Too gorgeous. She's also taken to saying "Thankyou darlin'"! Awww. I love this child sooo much!!!!
Happy Birthday to Katie for yesterday hope your day was wonderful
MD- Awwwww Miss E is too cute
Hoping everyone is feeling heaps better today. Olivia her 2 yearold molers and had the biggest runny poo this morning I mean it was terrible and running down her legs........yukkkooo hope they come though soon.
Have a wonderful day to all
Leanne - ewwwww. I think Hannah might be getting hers as well - she's been a little grumpy and crying when she goes to bed at night. Hope Livvie's come through quickly for her and for you :)
Clare - hope everything is going ok. Was thinking about you at prayer time at school this morning.
afm - i had to take Jessica for an ultrasound last week - small lump on her shin - (although not on the bone which is good) and she had to give a urine sample (weeing alot) and have a blood test as well (at which she fainted!!!)
I got a call today from the receptionist at the docs saying that our Doctor wanted to see Jess tomorrow - but not to worry, it's nothing sinister. Of course - now i can't stop worrying!!!! I'm sure everything will be fine though
Jaz - good luck at the doctor's tomorrow.
MD - yay for no more roids!!
Trill and PP - glad you had a good meetup. Well done A, sleeping through all the shopping!
Arte - way to go Amelia!!
Clare - how's it going? Thinking of you.
Thanks for all the birthday wishes everyone. I think she had a pretty good day. We didn't do anything particularly special. I blew up about 50 balloons and had them all in our room for when she came in. That was a hit! We made cupcakes in the afternoon for her to take to school today (which are still sitting in the fridge at home....). We had a lovely walk along the headland after breakfast, during which I think one of her shoes fell out of the pram so she is shoeless at school today! We'll just say I wasn't feeling like mother of the year in the carpark at day care this morning!
Happy birthday to our gorgeous Sept boy Noah!!! :birthday2: Hope you have a lovely day!!!
How is everyone going? This thread quietness is starting to freak me out!!!
 JaZaH, it's natural that you will be a bundle of nerves, but they really don't hand out reassurances unless everything is Ok, kwim? Yuck at having to take her for a blood test, I've so far managed to avoid that with my H, but aren't we lucky we live in a wealthy country where we have access to good medicine, and blood tests and ultrasounds?!
Clare - holding you in my thoughts constantly sweetie. xxx
Well I've copped a dose of the lurg but I am skating along without chills so hoping to avoid the whole fever/bloodtest/hospital part. DH took the day off to look after Missy E which means I am going *insane* with the constant noise of motor-racing going on the teev. Lucky for me he's such a good DH, the total package really is quite good. :p
ETA - Cally oh I'm so glad I'm not the only mother of a toddler who has the occasional shoe crisis. We have resorted to socks and sandals more than once...LOL. The cakes will be enjoyed just as much tomorrow!
Happy Birthday Noah - hope you're having a wonderful day :)
Pap - is it this week that your dh is away or next? Hope everything is going well.
Cally - thanks :) I read your status on Facebook - you poor thing - don't worry though - we all have days like that. Hannah is always kicking shoes off - we've had to backtrack so many times at the shop. lol.
md - the ladies at QML where she had the blood taken were so lovely to her. My poor big chook - she doesn't like the sight of blood or even talking about it. After she had the ultrasound she asked me whether she would have to have the lump cut out - i answered 'maybe' (don't want to lie to her) and she said she wished she'd never had the ultrasound.
I hope you don't get any sicker . Glad you're happy with your choice of hubby. I was thinking this myself yesterday (about my dh of course ;) ) Sure, he gives me the heebiejeebies sometimes, but he's a great daddy and he takes care of me when i need taking care of :)
hi everyone
Clare - big hugs to you. i am thinking of you - sorry i havent been on much so i just saw your news.
HAPPY BELATED BDAT KATIE AND RORY! (did i miss anyone else - i hope not)
Thanks for the bday wishes for gorgeous N - we had a fantabulous party yesterday and today he is at kindy (am i bad mum for that??) where i am sure he will have a great time, i know they are having cake for afternoon tea and i took in party hats and balloons so as much as i want to pickhim up early i better give him some time for that and to enjoy bveing the centre of all that attention! the party was awesome yest, it was a beautiful day so we did most of it in the garden. i made 2 of the barnyard cakes from the old women's weekly book (i didnt get any pics but ILs did so i will post them when they pass them on to me) and they all had a ball on the play equiment i hired etc. we also did a fun singalong (DH on the guitar) which the kids loved. N dressed up as a chicken and was so cute! then he crashed for a nice long arvo sleep before we went to his frioend from kindy's party that afternoon. was so lovely to see how he is with all his friends from kindy. adorable. he loved having lily in his house.. she arrived 1st and he took her by the hand and showed her his room (i made sure they kept the door open LOL) and the bath and then all the toys etc we had out for the party. cute!
Had a great meet up with Sherie on Fri - it was soooo good to meet you in person. A is so delightful and so much fun... we also went to floriade on sat and had a great time in the petting zoo. i looked out fo ryou, but you were lost somewhere with the 10 000 other peopel there i guess! hope you got some good shopping done.
Jaz - poor Jess - i hope the dr has good news.
MD - hope you dont get too sick. yay for no more roids!
Arte - how did the shopping go? did you take them both with you? yay for A's sleep - hope she does that again
Well DH is off oseas - i dropped him off this morning. Poor N - he had all the gparents here allw eekend, and then the party - will come home from kindy and just be with little old me... he wont be happy! i am so nervous how tonight will go - think of me.
Ginger - how are you?
Ange - sooooooooo excited for you.
hey pap - I'm sure Noah will be delighted coming home to just you :)
Did you notice that someone has given you platinum membership? I joined up yesterday - so we'll both have avs one day :)
ginger - how are you feeling?
Jaz - I did notice and I am trying to be a detective and work out who it was... if it is someone in here pls own up - i want to say thank you!
After i'd posted - i thought - oops, I'm not sure I'm supposed to mention it!!
Lucky you - you deserve it!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY NOAH!!!!
Hi everyone. sorry if i've freaked you all out a little with my MIA-ness. i'm feeling a lot better today, i think a mixture of sleep deprivation and sahm-boredness have been getting to me. for the first time in 2years i've actually found myself getting a little bored lately..and i'm totally sick of cleaning the house, only to have it be completely trashed again the next day iykwim?
anyway, sorry for my absense and whinging....i'm back!!!!
ginger - totally understand. I get sick of cleaning the house as well. dh has said we'll get a cleaner - but to be honest, it would just look like crap again the next day!!
I understand the boredom part as well. As much as we looooove our children, and they can keep us entertained most of the time- doing the same thing day in and day out can be painful. Dh often wonders why i get so cranky in the mornings - it's because i do the same thing every morning - every day of the year!!!
anyway - i'm glad you're feeling much better - and i say "stuff the housework".
LOL Jaz!
Ginger - so glad to see you back and I understand how you have been feeling. I get the same way and I havent done the SAHM full time thing for verylong at all. I agree with Jaz - stuff the housework! Do you have a chance for some you time coming up - i dont think you have had a pedi recently and i think you deserve it.
I will be in Melb this weekend but it is choccas full of family stuff - i wanted to arrange a meet up. Next time for sure - i am bummed bc i was meant to go early with J so i would have some time to see friends etc but bc DH is away i cant go. so he owes me a trip down there.
I meant to mention to Arte also it is weird - I never swaddled N, he didnt like it, but J loves it - well he sleeps well with swaddling. they are so different.
I feel a lot more emotional today than i did on N's 1st bday - i think it is bc he is actually like a boy now whereas last yr he was still a baby (he wasnt even crawling...). last night we set up his piano and microphone that ILs gave him and he was performing - it was like a big kid. i videoed him doing frere jacques - will try to load on FB. he is amazing! they're growing up too quickly!
jaz- totally, it's hard work day-in-day-out and lately i've been a bit lonely and bored. i've got friends to meet up with, but sometimes it's quite hard working around day sleeps etc.iykwim?
pap- lewis hated being swaddled too and jimmy loves it. weird!
it would be great if we could organise a melb meet-up
no i haven't had any me time for absolutely ages. the only time i have ever been way from jimmy was for an hour once when i took lewis to the dr.
Huge Happy Birthday Wishes to Noah and Katie!!!!!
G, I know what that feels like  have you thought about doing a course or something just to keep the brain working right? ;) I did the odd course here and there and really found it helped a lot with the whole boredom thing, and I got into sport again as well. I know it might be tricky with J working and the boys being little, but most things are only for an hr or two anyway.
Man I can't remember what was on the previous page now LOL.
Jaz, I hope the they want you to come in just for a script for abs or something else totally not sinister. Poor little thing, I hope it's not been worrying her too much though
PP, I know what you mean about it getting more sentimental - every year when they have a birthday it's another milestone reached and they grow up so quickly. Great to hear the party was a hit too - can't wait to see pics! We got to floriade by 9 and were gone by 2 when Alister fell asleep such a great day out though - he painted a gnome and was so proud of it LOL. We brought it home with us though instead of leaving it for the comp.
So yeah, got home yesterday at noon - we were up early and I couldn't see the point in hanging around so we headed off early and I'm glad because it was a headwind the entire trip home and I hate driving in the wind - storms and heavy rain I love but wind I hate and the wind only got worse as the day went on. We didn't end up doing anything after we left floriade as Alister was knackered so we just went back to the motel and veged out, then went for a drive and had a walk around the lake. Oh and PP - did you try any of the organic chocolate they had there? OMG it was sooooo good - I brought a bag each of the chocolate hearts and the petits mixed bag to bring home and a block for MIL - she nearly kissed me when I gave it to her LOL. And I got all the shopping I needed to get done and some that I didn't need ;) As much as it's great to get away, it's great to come home too kwim?
Happy Birthday Noah!!!
funny William likes being swaddled and Asha didnt.. do u think its coz the second babies have been born in generally more cooler months?? just a theory, when asha was born it was hot..
Ashas doing heaps better now shes on the ABs thanks for asking.. shes still sick and a bit wingy but deffinately on the up, spending more time playing instead of just sitting round.. gosh its been a fight tho to get them into her.. until today she would run away from us and put her hands obver her mouth.. ud need to hold her down and pry her hands away! today shes been much better agreeing to take it and opening her mouth.. im not sure if its because she realises its making her better or im getting better at bribing her hahaha!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY NOAH!!! It sounds like he had a really awesome day.
G I could have written your posts myself. I too have been feeling a little down and out lately, I thought it was just pg hormones (prob has a lot to do with it) then I realised I am feeling bored and a little lonely. Luckily for me though in a few more weeks I won't be able to say I am bored. I hope your feeling better soon. I totally think you need a "me" weekend. I have my birthday coming up and provided I haven't had this bub I am off for a day of pampering.
Sherie glad you had a good trip. Sounds really nice just being you and A.
Noni glad Asha is starting to come good now, it is horrible when they are sick.
Its kindy day today so I had best be off to get ready. Have a great day.
Happy Birthday Noah
Hi girls!
i have to thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and wishes. obviously the energy you mob created did something because about 1/2 an hour before i arrived, my Oma woke up out of her coma!
We were told that she wouldnt make it, that it was the end, but i guess she had other plans (yippeeee!). supposedly when she woke up and saw everyone crying around her she just said in a rather offended tone ( ) 'I'm not dead!' (all in dutch!). and the whole room (with Drs and nurses etc and the whole family) just burst out laughing. somehow, by some miracle she has survived and against all odds is improving: within 24 hours of waking up she was able to eat some food and within 48 hours didnt need a drip or blood transfusion anymore (sorry for TMI...she had a punctured lung so lots of 'draining' going on).
she is of course, very critical still. but it was just amazing to be able to hold her hand and chat and cuddle and to see her smile IYKWIM. the Docs are a bit more hopeful of her recovery, but she wont be going home. my opa has been told that placement (grand euphemism for nursing home lol) is pretty much the only way...she is too stubborn to be told what to do by my Opa ITMS.
...sorry for the selfish post, i have had to come back to melbourne late last night as i have this awful awful meeting on today and i didnt want to be near oma with building up stress. so had to make a very difficult decision to leave and am hoping that she will continue to improve.
i'll BBL when i am less freaking out about the world xx
p.s. i love you all you have no idea how much it meant to just read through your posts xx
Just a quickie from me - had to drop in home for a dummy
Clare - I am soooo glad that your Oma is improving - and some angels were at work helping her to come out of her coma ( i bet she knew you were close by too)
Hope the meeting you have today goes ok - sounds like you need some more prayers directed your way.
off to school for a Liturgy with a cranky 2 year old. Wish me luck!!!
Wow Clare, I am so happy for you! That is great news. I hope she continues to improve.
Happy Birthday Noah
Pap, sounds like N had a great day. I was more emotional on the second birthday too, I think because I was holding a tiny new baby and I could see how big he is now. No baby left in him at all.
Ginger, I have struggled with the boredom on and off thoughout my SAHM days. Sometimes it is really hard to keep living groundhog day again and again. I was never particularly motivated to clean the house and it can get me so down when I force myself to do it only to have it messed up again before DH even gets home to see that I have actually done something with my day. Although I think this past couple of weeks has been an eye opener for him - the novelty of DH being home seems to have worn off a bit and W has been having tantrums etc - a side of him that DH hasn't really seen before.
Jazah, you are so sweet for your offer to look though your baby clothes, but please don't trouble yourself. Australia Post will send you bankrupt to send anything over! Besides, there might be a little neice for you in the future.
The shopping trip was a dis-as-ter!! Amelia was a perfect angel, it was W that was the pita! He tantrumed half way there in the car, then he was a complete toad for DH while I was shopping, then DH dropped us at the park and he had a wobbley for a full hour until DH came to pick us up. On the bright side, a very kind lady saw that I was having trouble with both crying and offered to push W on the swing for a while. That was nice. I did manage to get a load of pink clothes that fit too, so I guess it was worth it.
Clare - I am so glad that your Oma has improved so much and that you got to spend that precious time with her and your Opa and the rest of your family. I have been thinking of you so this is great news to read. Hope the meeting goes well today - I am sure you will blitz it (it's the panel review of your thesis isnt it?).
Jaz - was the dr appt today?
Well, last night (1st night without DH) was mixed. I as rather proud of myself as i managed to get them both asleep and me showered by 8pm... but then poor J is not well and he woke for feeiding at least every 2 hrs and between that and N needing 3 (short) settles I am exhausted! It was good to drop N at kindy this morning! J is still not well, i hope it is just a cold - but he is miserable. we were out but he started screaming so we came home and he is asleep now. i hpoe he is ok.
N had an accident at kindy yest, nothing serious (app he was hugging someone and they were walking along together and they lost balance and fell - he was on the bottom and got a scraped chin and carpet burn). It is the first time it has said 'accident report' next to his name - my heart sank. he also had an accident on sat - walked behind a kid on a swing and got hit in the head and thrown over... so he is in the wars! i guess that is all part of being a 2 yr old!
Noni - it is weird all the 2nd ones like the swaddle... youtr theory may be a good one... not sure. i think with N i didnt persever much with it and maybe i should have (given how bad a sleeper he was/is). How is w going now? glad A is on the improve
Arte - yep i think it is more sentimental bc of having a newborn, i thought N was a baby til the day J was born!
Sherie - glad you made it home ok and had a good trip.
Arte - I had a look through the girls clothes - and I haven't got much that would keep A warm either! What did you end up buying in terms of a sling?
That's good that your dh can see what life is really like for you. Bummer about your shopping trip, but lovely that someone saw you were in need of some help and offered.
pap - poor J :( I hope he's feeling better real soon - I used to find that whenever my dh would have to go away somewhere - one of the girls would get sick. It's not much fun having to deal with it by yourself. I'm taking Jess to the doctor at 3:30 this arvo.
good luck Jaz - let us know how it goes.
Arte - i missed most of your post - i must be going bonkers!
Glad you got some clothes for miss A - is it weird buying pink stuff??? and the upside of the disastrous trip is that you dont have to worry about DH thinking you do nothing with your day... he knows what it is like now...
Happy Birthday Noah!!!
PAP - sorry your first night didn't go so well, hope J isn't too sick. The party sounds great. We are going to check out Floriade this Friday and the petting zoo!!
Jaz - will think of you at 3:30 this afternoon.
Clare - so glad that your Oma is doing better!
Arte - yay for helpful strangers!! Glad that DH is seeing how difficult/boring it is at home for you.
As for all you SAHM's, I think you do a great job and I don't know how you do it!!!
hi girls
just putting some pics on FB. my ILs will have better ones of the party so will add more when they get around to givingthem to me.
hi gorgeouses
clare- great news about oma, and your story of her saying 'i'm not dead!' made me smile. :) sorry things are so rough for you atm, when it rains it pours huh?
katie- glad to hear i'm not the only one with sahm-boredness. it is very groundhog day, and the never getting a break is a problem. soooo looking forward to your birth announcement. your belly on fb is beautiful.
cally- have you caught up on east of everything yet? i am sooo completely obsessed with it. it has been my hit show of 2009.
jaz- best of luck today at drs. just cos the dr wants to talk to you doesn't mean it's bad news, they have to discuss all results with you in person no matter what. i'm sure the little chook will be fine, cutiepatootie.
pap- well done on surviving without dh. i'm a walking zombie most days so i can relate. i won't know myself when i actually sleep through the night for the first time.
arte- yeah i get sooo peeed off when i spend 2 hours cleaning and then dh gets home and it looks like i've done nothing. may as well have sat on the couch and watched a movie. i would just dress amelia in w's blue clothes while i'm at home if it were me and save a few pink items for 'going out'.
noni- glad to hear A is on the mend. we have so much trouble gettting ABs into lewis, i started crying one day over it.
trill- i would love to do a course. dh really wants me to do a bookeeping /myob one to help run his business more efficiently, but i can't leave jimmy yet. maybe next year i may be able to do it, when he gets a little bigger and is not so reliant on my BBs. i would love to do a knitting course too.
now ladies, our laptop has died and dh has said i can buy a new one. i have no idea what to get. any ideas? is it worth getting an apple? does anyone know anything about all this stuff as i am a ludite.
Sorry, Ginger, I think you shop online a little too often to qualify as a true Ludd! LOL A new comp is always exciting but a bit of a PITA too. We just went with a Dell lappy cos it was 'easy' & I could check out the model I wanted at Officeworks first (fussy about my keypad).
Clare so relieved for you to hear about Oma, classic story - she sure sounds like one special lady. Good luck with your meeting (and weren't you going to email me some chapters?) I'm sure it will be FINE - just remember to take anything they say with an academic grain of salt!
Ah PP well done on getting thru a long night. Poor noah, but it is the age for it. Missy E is pretty nimble so doesn't have half the injuries H had at the same age - but she's got this new trick of lying around the swing on her tummy, then turning sideways to wind it up so it spins (fast) unwinding. Not a problem on our swing but the FDC lady's swing has a cross bar thing very close... THANKS DD1 for teaching her that
Arte well done on your shopping trip - and pleased your DH has had a toddler eye-opener. Missy E had the tantrum to end all tantrums on Fri (her birthday) at the FDC lady's at pickup time - nice for the FDC lady to see what I'm up against as she has 2 very mild-mannered little girls LOL.
Katie I was looking at your ticker this morning, getting ready to start making "ding" noises. :) Soooo exciting, it's getting close now tho you prolly don't feel that way just yet.
Noni - maybe A has just realised the medicine doesn't taste that bad after all? LOL I resorted to jellybean bribes for a while with DD1 but Missy E is happy to suck it down and even asks for it now (my little year of the pig piggy).
Hey is anyone contemplating a bedroom refurb now that our babies aren't really bubs anymore?
yeah i agree - GInger you may not know what laptop to get but you are no luddite - and your credit card would prove it LOL! i love apples but it is more for the looks and what they do graphically etc - i dont know much about them technically...but everyone who has them RAVES about them and they are GORGEOUS!
so annoyed my pram hasnt arrived - they said fri or mon and it isnt here... cmon people, i am bursting!!
MD - that swing trick sounds scary... gosh my N is so reservd physically - he is way off doing anything as daredevil as that! thoug the way he 'bouces' poor Jacob in his rocker i reckon J will be up to tricks in no time.
Jaz - Glad to see I'm not the only one still struggling to get rid of the dummy! Good luck with the test results, let us know how she goes. However I'm sure its nothing serious.
Arte - Oh how cute is W kissing A. I'm glad he is being such a great help to you - well apart from the shopping trip disaster lol. We've all been there!
PAP - Happy belated birthday to N. Love the new pics on FB, did you make the chicken costume? N's hair is so amazingly curly. J is a little sweetheart. GL with hubby away, you will be fine. Is he gone for long? Do you have to go back to work anytime soon? Sorry so many q's. Forgot to add, so scary getting those accident reports. Poor thing!
Noni - M is on antibiotics atm too and at first she was a nightmare when taking it. But now she is ok, and asks for more...what the? How are you guys all going, is A getting better?
Rainy - You need a hobby of some sort. Or what about going to the gym a couple of mornings a wk, would you feel ok leaving the kids in the creche for an hr? I am doing pilates on a Thur morn & put M in the creche for an hr, it costs $3. I am LOVING it & loving the results on the tummy too. As for laptops...no idea but the one I am using now is DH's work one & its a dell...lol
Clare - Well thats great news, and amazing as well. What a funny thing for her to say lol. So happy for you.
MD - We are slowly changing things around in M's room to make it more a big girls room. The cot & change table are still in there though, only due to lack of space in our house. What about you?
AFM turns out M has a bit of a chest infection & ear infection so on antibiotics now. Had a rough night with her last night, so unwell, so I didnt go in to work today & have kept her home. Amazing how you feel guilty about not going into work when your child is sick, or am I the only one? DH said in not so nice terms, dont worry about work M comes first lol. Anyway I have a bit of the lurgie now too but nothing I cant ignore.
Just have some toddler questions as well, it seems to me that over the past 2-3 wks M is becoming so difficult & negative at times. Her response to questions is always a 'noooo' while vigorously shaking her head. & a good example, she pesters and persters for food, so I get together a bowl of snacks and she then refuses to eat & very cheekily swipes it off the table. She is just generally being difficult & last night I seriously had a thought of 'my gosh you are so hard to love sometimes' :( What is going on!?
Anyway we did end up having a nice day visiting the in laws on Sunday. M's little cousin was there & they ran around the 'farm' together, holding hands & M kept calling his name & dobbing on him when he would run away lol.
afternoon everyone :)
thanks for all your concern for Asha.. shes doing much better.. back to her usual "im hungry" every 10 seconds and driving me insane doing things she knows shes not allowed to!! William is not well at all, he kept me up all night coughing and vomiting.. he just cant keep it down when he coughs coz its a really bad cough.. hes drinking much less and is pretty wingy, hes been sleeping all day apart from feed times so i assume hes gonna be up all night again :( hopefully not!
the house is disgusting, stuff everywhere, dishes piled up, im just sooo tired i sit here thinking, any minute now ill get up and do something.. plus i got all pre occupied because dh got this email at work saying a client of another case manager just had a baby boy 1mth ago, not only is she on the disability pension but her husband has been sent to jail and her family live in bangladesh.. it was asking for anyone who has nappies blankets and clothes and even toys.. so i spent most of my day digging through our baby stuff for things we didnt need and asking all my friends if they have anything, looks like were gonna have a fair bit of stuff too!! wish i got more notice, dh has to take the stuff in on thursday, spose it was a spur of the moment idea.. think thats more important than housework anyway!!
ohhh id love an apple computer, no way its gonna happen tho :(
hope everyones doing well :)
noni- my house is a pigsty too
pap- i just took my mb out for a walk and thought of you :) getting your new one.
it's hard work pushing it up hills! but you should be right cos i think the red ones go faster ;)
mm- i would like to go to the gym, but i'm just not willing to leave j in a creche yet. i just feel like he is a bit too young atm, prob just my stupid mindset i know, but i would feel too guilty and not enjoy it.
ikwym with the toddler attitude atm. lewis is being particularly bossy and defiant and sometimes i feel like i am his slave. he thinks he is the king of the remote control for the foxtel and continually shoves it into my hand if i dare to try to watch a show i like. he forces me to give him foot massages while he sits on the couch watching 'his' foxtel.
md-i didn't realise online shopping decreased my ludite status- in that case,i am an IT expert
reminds me, did anyone buy anything from the new season oobi range? i bought j a party outfit :)
we are just in the process of re-arranging our house and working out who sleeps where iykwim? we're thinking an extention might be in order......
i'm thinking i might like the boys to share the4ir bedroom though, idk. is sharing rooms good or a pita, what do other people do?
i might wait till ange returns to tell me why i need an apple :)
hi girls - sorry selfish post here...
J just threw up a couple of times... i think it is bc he has a cold and has swallowed all the snot (nice) but i dont know what to do bc he is so tiny still. if it was earlier in the day i would take him to the dr (he is unsettled all day, had bad night etc etc) but now i have to get N from creche and i dont have anyone to watch him while i go. thought i would see how he is overnight and then go tomorrow - but i am worried i should be doing something pronto bc of his age. i dont think he has a temp (but i am notoriously bad at taking them). think i will feed him again and see if he keeps that down. oh i am in for a rough one i know it... any advice welcome (sorry for selfish post, feeling a little worried and alone) - i called DH and he agrees wuth this plan but i am worried i will freak out in the night if it keeps happening...
PP - I definitely think having an older sibling to teach them "tricks" adds to the daredevil factor, but it's also partly the nature of the beastie. Missy E has been very physical and grounded, since forever (remember me calling her Donkeychild in the womb?) with those strong little kicking legs. Totally different to H.
MM I love your gym/pilates idea, I think I could really benefit from pilates (now that it's not trendy any more LOL). BTW I'm sorry to say that sounds just like normal toddler behaviour to me. A certain amount can be ignored/accommodated/let to slide/distracted but sometimes you have to assert your way too. The good news is, it does pass.
Noni, you're right, that's way more important than housework, and I'm sure it will be very appreciated. The housework will still be there tomorrow LOL. Mine's a pigsty, there's a standoff to see who folds first and cleans the toilet. I think it's going to be me...
I'd like to paint Missy E's bedroom and do some artwork on her (old and uninspiring white laminated) wardrobe & cupboard. Might see if I can rope in FIL for some manual labour while he's here...I want a different colour on each wall - a really soft pink, old fashioned soft light blue, a soft green and then accessorise with cherry red and dark pink. Sounds disgusting but it's that red combined with the soft pastel that looks really nice. We need to clear her room out a bit first, tho not sure if I can let the change mat go before my surg or not.
ETA - PP I would take him to the Dr and just bring N along with you, with some snacks, drinks etc to keep him amused. I'm sure they will get J in when you tell them how old he is.
PP, when they cough they can't spit out the mucous/phlegm like we can so they swallow it and it's gotta come out somewhere - either that end or the other ;) I think he would probably feel a bit better afterwards actually because he's probably had it sitting in his belly making him feel yuck. I've never been one to rush off to the Dr's simply because we're out of town and trying to see a Dr at short notice just doesn't happen out here. If he does keep doing it, or you feel that something's not right, then take him to A&E then, but I reckon he will be fine
G, when I worked I had a oh so nice Mac and I loved it dearly and always thought I would get a mac one day but you can add at least $1000 to the price tag of a laptop just because it has an apple on the front  When we were looking for one the main thing for me was keyboard flex - some are just shocking for it so that's one thing to check out when shopping for one. We were tossing up between a Toshiba and a Dell but Dell couldn't guarantee me the service if I needed it and then harvey norman gave me the runaround with the toshiba so we went with the Lenovo and it's brilliant.
Oh Arte  I've had that happen too. Don't forget that everyone is still adjusting to everyone else and the entire family dynamic changes with each child that comes along. Even though W is a pretty precocious child, he will still have his moments - usually in public for good measure LOL.
Noni, good to hear that A is on the mend and nearly back to her old self.
Clare, that's so great about your Oma  I'm really glad that they have managed to sort out her going to a home as your Opa should be spending his time just loving her for the time she has left and not having to worry about caring for her too. LOL at what she said though.
We're not doing much at all in the way of rooms. we desperately need to paint the entire house again as it is getting tired looking but funds are a bit tight ATM.
This morning I started getting hayfever (that time of year again  ) and all I had was 25mg phenergan so I thought I'd take one as I was so desperate and OMG I felt like I'd been king hit by the sleep fairys! I had to take Paige to her speechie today so I went and stayed awake OK but we got home at 1pm - alister had fallen asleep in the car and luckily he stayed asleep when I put him on his lounge and Paige was tired so she went to bed and I hopped on the couch and woke up 3hrs later when Alister did! Man it was a deep sleep too LOL. And I had to get the kids at 4.35 too so I had a quick cuppa tea to wake me up. On the bright side though it worked - got rid of the hayfever LOL I'm hoping that the sleep will me awake tonight so I can try to get SIL's wedding sampler finished by the weekend.
pap - W is doing the same thing, try not to worry too much.. W has had a temp but i gave him some panadol n it did the trick.. been to the drs much earlier on, not much they can do, just keep an eye on the temp n u can try some cooled boiled water too that can help..
Thanks girls... just fed him again so hope he will keep that down
have a girlfriend on standby in case i freak out and want to go to locums or A&E... she can come watch N inthe night if needs be. geez it aint easy being a mummy.
It's not is it, especially when you are tossing up the 'should I or shouldn't I go'. And Noni's right, there really isn't anything they can do for them when it's just a cold and they are better off not being in a Dr's waiting room I reckon. Good that you have someone who can come over if you do need to go though.
