PP, now that you have a plan in place I'm sure it will be a noneventful night. It's when you don't have the plan that everything happens! :hug: Like Trill said, sometimes the yuck just has to come out, sounds like Noni's W is doing the same thing too.
And its especially hard when you are on your own and dont have your hubby around to discuss with him what to do. I think you have a good plan there PAP, see how he goes for now.

dont freak out too much pap :) W vomited and coughed for alot of the night.. im trying to use the saline and aspirator as much as i can to limit how much gunk hes swallowing but its not easy when he hates it and moves his head around when im trying to do it!! hes slept most the day too but im not worrying because i know we had a big night and the times he is awake he is reasonably alert and still atleast drinking a little and having lots of wet nappies..
always good to have a plan tho!! not only incase something goes wrong but to make you feel more secure and help you relax a bit :)
Pap - i hope little J improves and you have a good night. Have you raised one end of the bassinette slightly? Might help with the mucous running down the back his throat. Poor little thing.
trill - whoa, it really hit you didn't it!!! 3 hours sleep - you obviously needed it. What do you mean by a wedding sampler? (sorry if i should know this :redface:)
ginger - Jess and Zoe share a room, but that only happened 2 years ago. They seem to like it at the moment, but i guess in a couple of years they're going to be sick of one another!!lol.
md - have fun redecorating - maybe you should film it all and start your own lifestyle program. I love a good make over show!!
noni - A and W sure have had their share of illness over the past week haven't they - I hope they're all on the mend now :)
Took Jess to the Dr, and all is good. She just wanted to look at the ultrasound, as she only the report to go off. Looks like she has a splinter or something in her leg. She's happy for us just to leave it there until it absolutely has to come out. Her urine test showed some white blood cells, and said she may have had a low grade infection ,although not sure what. Her iron level is a bit low as well, so going to try and increase it through diet rather than tablets at this stage.
So anyway, all good. Thankyou all for your thoughts. You're all so wonderful!!!!

I want to send hugs to you all, send birthday messages to any I've missed as well as general support and best wishes to everyone! We're not too crash hot around here, nothing to really pinpoint health wise. Just a general 'off' feeling. My IRL friends have noticed that I have not been right and have pulled me up a few times after I've made comments etc that aren't like me. They are worried and have made me book an appt at the dr. I'm thinking virus but don't know which, what, where, how, when or why. well I can guess as to how (damn sharing kids lol). But its really knocking me around and I think Sarah is really picking up on it all. Rory is also away working at the moment and has been gone for nearly 3 weeks so far and isn't due back until next week. So I think Sarah is missing him which just adds to her fantastic (note the sarcasm pls) mood.
Rory and I are surviving our problems but it is so damn awkward when talking to him on the phone.
So I'm just in a general slump. But anyway I didn't come on here to sook just to say that I do still think about you all but am just too lazy to actually 'think'. Hence facebook and other mindless things

Jazah, so relieved to hear it's a splinter! Glad your dr has decided to leave it, sometimes they like to gouge around and get them out which aint pretty. Bathing the spot with warm salty water could help draw it out??? Weetbix (must be sanitarium) and iron-fortified OJ for breakky is our standard iron-increasing menu.
these guys must have shared the same womb LOL! leila has been doing this for about a month now. so so aggravating and not to mention plain rude. i guess it is a further display of their 'id' (spelling?) LOL!:
we are just trudging along with it showing our 'unhappy' face when she does it and hoping like mad that the 'this too shall pass' mantra works past the newborn phase LOL.
rainy: we have just purchased a gorgeous macbook pro 15 inch. it is my baby. it has a built in webcam and we now skype with my mum so that her and leila can talk and see eachother. of course it also means that leila kisses the screen waaay too much.
PP: oh deary me! i only just realised that it was NOAH's birthday yesterday! i remembered today as it was Leila's EDD today and i remembered when we met up in 2008 that i marvelled at the closeness of the age ITMS.

PP: can you call some mach line? otherwise bundle them up in a car, grit the teeth and drive to the A&E. the CH is only a short drive and if you present with a young bub vomiting you may get in quickly. and if not, then you can prolly sigh a breath of relief that it may not be urgent....what does robin barker say lol? ahhh my book of knowlege...give it a peruse and go from there i reckon.
MD: oohh all these redecorating ideas sound gooood! cant wait to get my hands dirty with Leila's room. not sure what to do yet. so hard to decide. i want something that can kinda last a bit of distance for age so want it to be fun and cute, but not too cute IYKWIM.

Clare - Thanks, glad to know M isnt the only difficult grumpy bum these days. Sometimes the moody face she mopes about with is incredible iykwim! Oh hope it isnt ears, they always seem to play up when a flight is coming up dont they? Always the way
Kate - Glad to hear you are still with DH hopefully things keep getting better. I hope the doc can help you pin point whats going on. I was feeling a bit down & not 100% a month or so ago and started myself on multivitamins and it has made me feel so much better. Maybe its something as simple as that?
Jaz - Hopefully that splinter makes its own way out with time. ;)
M has been sick & grumpy all day, I dont know why it didnt click earlier but I gave her some panadol at 4pm and her mood had changed back to normal within half an hr. Feel guilty for letting her go all day with no medication, it just slipped my mind, probably because I was focusing on getting her 3X antibiotics into her!
H, don't worry about not giving her panadol earlier, the longer they can get by OK without it the better as you don't want to have to rely on it kwim? Her behaviour is completely normal for this age range too - they are asserting their independence and working out boundaries and they will just keep pushing them LOL. I have found just walking away and ignoring it seems to work best as there is no fun for them in pressing the buttons of someone who just walk away and doesn't bite back.
Jaz, that's a relief that it's just a splinter. You could try getting it out quicker yourself if you wanted to by buying some magnoplasm (at the chemist or supermarket) or using honey even and putting a bandaid over it to draw it out. usually it will just fester and pop out with loads of pus but it can get really sore waiting for it to do it on it's own. The wedding sampler is just a cross stitch with their names and wedding date and hearts and stuff on it - I'll post a pic of it on FB when it's done.
Clare that's awesome news that they loved the review!!!! I hope it isn't L's ears playing up, not just before a plane trip!
Kate, so great to see you and get an update. Ummm you don't think you could be pg do you? would explain the vagueness of how you're feeling kwim? Either way I hope you can work out what it is and get back to your old self again :hug: you've had such a hard time of it lately. I'm happy that you and Rory are working things out too don't worry about the phone calls - DH and I don't really talk well on the phone to each other when he or I is away either.
AFM, only full day at home this week LOL so I need to get stuck into some serious housework - our bedroom is an absolute hovel from everything just being put in there because it can't go anywhere else and I need to get it sorted out because it's really bugging me.
ughh when the tantrums start at 8am you know its gonna be a long day!! im so over heaing im hungry or her just going to the kitchen opening the fridge and taking stuff out or pulling the margarine off the bench after breakfast and spreading it everywhere arrrrgghhh!!! she complains and complains that shes hungry and then i get her something and she wants something else (even when i let her choose the first thing) and tantrums when i say no.. shes a tantrum machine atm! very frustrating, hope it will improve atleast a little bit when she isnt sick anymore because shes really acting like a spoilt brat atm and i hate it!!
William slept from 1.30am to 7.30am this morning so atleast i had some sleep!! hes still very snotty and has a horrible chesty cough but hoping we are on the mend now!!

kate - lol @ getting u addicted to the site.. its good for a bit of mindless entertainment :) i know what u mean about not just feeling quite right and finding it hard to update.. i find the more things i try and make myself do (small things like updating on here etc) the better i tend to feel, unless i try and fit in too much ofc..
haley - as u can see we are having simlar problems with behaviour lol.. dont worry about the panadol i actually put off giving it to either of the kids unless they have a temp.. the AB's are hard enough to remember and Asha has to have them 4 times a day atm!! thank god shes not running away from me and putting her hands over her mouth anymore!!
clare - im sooo jelous of your computer purchase!!

Noni, it sounds like she's bored hun. My kids are always the worst for doing stuff like that if they are dead bored and don't have anything to stimulate them and stop them from doing naughty stuff. I know it's hard when you have a newborn and a sick one at that but maybe have some part of the day organised into an activity for her might help alleviate some of the tantrums she's having.

Noni - I agree with Trill - i think she may be a bit bored and also maybe a bit jealous with W in the house etc - i find N has a few bad days now and again when he is a bit more jealous of Jacob. Maybe you need to plan something each day for A - i do that on the days I have N with us - which i know is less than you so easier for me... but park time, playgroup, play dates, play centre, art outside - stuff to get her out of the house and burn some of the energy. do you have a sling or bjorn - i use both of mine on these outings and it helps me give N some less divided attention. even taking her for a walk and a bubacino or something like that will break the biredom factor for her and get you all out and about which will prob make everyone feel better and hoepfully improve her behaviour a bit? does your mum still take her on fridays? i feel fro you, N was like that this morning and it was very hard to deal with - esp with a sick newborn on your hands too.

Clare - WTG on the great feedback - i knew they'd love it! well i didnt since i dont know mucha bout it, but i knew you would have done a good job iykwim! how is oma now? how is gorgeous L going - i hope it isnt her ears - you dont need that on the flight to Italia! i am soooooo jealous of that - where are you going to be and for how long? and most importantly - will you have internet? they are going to go WILD for L there - you will be able to eat out all the time as they will look after her. and i hope you have been saving for the shopping sprees (for all of you).
Well last night was a bit trying for me... J got pretty bad just at bath time, threw up ans got upset. so i had them both screaming and crying and i couldnt settle them. i was freaking out how i was going to get them to sleep - it was a cycle of crying and J wouldnt even feed. i had them both in my room but it wasnt helping. was close to tears... then my gf arrived like an ANGEL! she took J from me and calmed him down while i put N to bed... and then we had a glass fo wine and unwound... J was still unsettled and didnt sleep til 1130 but he was ok then... woke for 3 feeds which he kept down. N needed a couple of settles but was ok and was then up at 5.45... tantruming ALL MORNING bc he misses DH. the funniest was that I heated his cereal for 10 sec and DH does 15 - so he wouldnt eat it and had a majior tanty that i had pressed 1-0 not 1-5. yep i think he will have OCD. app i also got his spoon out of the drawer at the wrong time - i am meant to get it after the microwave finsihes not when it is going.... geez! a little bit fo me was VERY happy to leave him at creche. though after he got over all the tantrums and the great cereal debarcle of 2009 he was pretty delightful this morning playing with his bdat presents and telling me he loves me THIS much!
I hope J is a bit better today, so far he is a bit better - no vomits yet!
yeh i agree she is bored.. its been deffinately more challenging while shes sick because shes missed 2 mondays of school and usually has swimming tiesdays which shes missed twice now too.. because shes tired still from the sickness shes constantly asking to watch tv because she just dosnt have the energy.. i try to get out when i can but money is a problem.. cant get anywhere without public transport and its expensive nowa days!! mum still takes her every second friday but that hasnt happened for a while either because i did have my friend staying and then she was too sick to go.. its just been a hard few weeks for her because the things we have that are special to her she hasnt been able to do.. i do have a carrier but its an ergo, i gave the baby bjorn i had away and then realised i cant do up the ergo in the newborn position without help GREAT!! the nearest park is also a good 25min walk from here (well theres one closer 10mins ish but it only has swings and a really big slide that ashas not game to go on) i do plan to take her if we get a nice day and both of them arent too sick but geez im struggling to keep her entertained.. am crossing my fingers shes well enough for school and swimming next week because they really are my saviours!!

do you have any craft stuff at home? i made N a big box with stickers, crayons, pipe cleaners, glitter etc etc in it and i drag it out once in a whike when he is bored and we cant go out and let him go wild - he has fun with it... i also cut out heaps of magazibne oicttures and he does 'collage' with them which he likes? that may be a less expensive option for something different. do you have som efriends close by with kids that can come over once a week for a play date? that may help too? how about a walk around the block? give her certain things to look for? i sometmes go with N and we choose what we will look for or collect on the way - diff things each time - leaves, bugs, cars, dogs - itkeeps him interested and makes the walk last longer... just some inexepnsive ideas... i find even 1 hr out of the house helps...
You don't have to go far, even just sitting in the backyard with some bubble mix and blow bubles for 10-15 minutes or something while William is asleep. The days have been gorgeous lately and being outside in the sunshine and fresh air will do you both some good. Or maybe kick a ball around with her - it really doesn't have to be much.
PP, sounds like you had a rough start to the night :hug: I'm glad that the night got easier though. And I hope that it doesn't repeat itself tonight. They are funny little things too - alister can be like that sometimes with cutlerly, mainly just it having to be a specific one, but he has 3 different forks and you just have to let him choose which one he wants :rolleyes:
thanks guys.. i try to get her outside as much as possible.. weve got swings, a kiddy see saw type thing and one of those kiddy cars just in our backyard.. she loves it but often William dosnt settle well outside.. think its just a matter of learning to effectively manage them both so Ashas getting enough attention coz atm i think shes missing out a little, especially coz william had a rough start to things with his weight and has now got sick he needs alot of attention..
i do have friends with kids but they have the same problem as me lol no transport..
craft is a great idea and we do do some, she loves drawing and stickers are a big hit.. shes got some paints and things that i really should get out more often coz she does enjoy it, im just a bit hesitant when it comes to that coz of the mess!! same thing with playdough etc.. im just so tired but ive really gotta get off my but n do this stuff with her because its really not fair for her atm :( i feel like such a bad mum :(
Noni you are totally NOT a bad mum - adjusting to 2 isnt easy.... (i find the sharing of my attention one of the hardest bits).

Rainy - Yes I can understand not wanting to leave J yet in a creche while he is still so young. I havent actually seen any young bubs in the gym creche so I'm sure your not the only mum feeling that way. Otherwise how about you go at night when DH is home with the boys? Or you can buy a dvd and do it at home, but I guess thats not as fun as getting out and about & doing it with a group.
MD - Def go for it, pilates is a good work out but relaxing at the same time iykwim? It has alot of stretching as well as exercises so I think thats where the relaxation comes into it. I LOVE it & I am noticing a difference in my body.
PAP - What a great friend you have, thank god for her, I can imagine putting two to bed in HARD work!
Noni - M is bored as too. We have had a few wks of such bad weather & sickness so we have been housebound. When the weather is good I like going for walks and stopping at a park, seems to break up the day a bit as well. & you arent a bad mum, I can imagine how hard it is keeping two happy, especially when you are tired! hang in there

we are very lucky that one of my good friends lives just down the road so on boring days we usually head over to her place so lewis can play with her dd and chase around her chickens/ducks/cats/dog/pony LOL, we've just got back from there now actually. it's such beautiful weather.
trill-thanks for the laptop tips. might have to check out the one you've got if you reckon it's a winner. any tips on what model?
mm- nights are just way too hectic around here for me to leave dh alone. the logistics of dinner/bath/bedtime with 2 is very difficult. also j cluster feeds a lot from about 8-10pm most nights. i think i'm just gonna have to wait till they're both a bit older for some 'me' time. booo hooo!

Hey G! It is a gorgeous day today isn't it? Umm the laptop is a Lenovo SL500, but I had it customised a bit too. also the huge plus with the Lenovo is that it came with Windows XP whereas all the new ones automatically come with Vista these days and DH has enough trouble using XP LOL. It has a licence for Vista though so I can download it and change it over whenever I want to as well. As for sitting up and crawling, Lindsay was closer to 7 months before he could sit unsupported, and crawled between 8-9mths, Erin was crawling at 4.5mths and sitting at 5mths, Paige was bang on 6 months for both and Alister was around 6 months old too. Are you worried about J?
yeah, i am a little worried. he doesn't seem anywhere near sitting up.
dh reckons his hair is too heavy and it's weighing him down ;)

Ginger - N sat up at about 5.5/6 months and crawled at.... 13 months!
ikwym about the hectic nights with 2... already thinking how tonight may pan out...
i miss my Dh so much this time, i always miss him but it is amplified when i also miss him in the not emotional but need sense - ie i cant do this all by myself COME HOME! N also misses him so much, he keep saying 'Daddy in Jakarta, coming home on Thursday' but today told me he didnt want wednesday - he wants thursday! cutie!
ETA aaah your Dh could be onto something there - maybe N's hair also had an impact on his gross motor skills LOL! Nah, i dont think you need to worry about it hon, it will happen in good time. btw how are his solids going now?
ROFL! I wouldn't worry about it too much - he's a different kid to what L was so he will do things at different times. My nephew has only just started crawling at 11mths and still can't sit up unsupported.
Oh and the Lenovo laptops are what the Govt is giving to all the school kids too so I figured they must be OK if the govt is spending all the loot on them - or maybe that could be a bad thing LOL
hahahaha ginger @ his hair pulling him down!! have a friend with a baby boy the same age, not close to sitting up either.. i think asha sat up around 5 or 6 mths but she didnt manage to crawl forwards till around 8mths i think.. maybe even later, and that was after much help and encouragement from me who was worried she wasnt doing it soon enough too!!

Hannah and I did some collage here this morning. She was more interested in playing with the glue than actually sticking anything on - but it's all in the process. ( i just wanted to hang a finished picture on the fridge lol) I'm loving your new av by the way ;)
ginger - that's great that you have somewhere to go for a play. I really have to be a bit more proactive in oranising play dates with others. I can become a bit of a loner sometimes - sometimes catch-ups can be hard work!!
afm - the lump on Jess's leg doesn't have an entry point. You can't see anything, only feel it under the skin iykwim. I bought her some Incremen (?) today for boost to her iron. She eats heaps of red meat and chicken, and green vegies . Md - thanks for the weetbix tip - unfortunately she doesn't like it, but does eat Nutrigrain.

Noni - A couple of buckets of water and a small container in the backyard will keep K entertained for yonks. She just moves it around and then when she starts to look bored I suggest she waters all the plants.

Clare, Noni, MM, I have the ultimate tantrum child now too. Lately he has been packing it in as soon as he is out of bed because he has more tireds, which only sets the scene for a whole heap more meltdowns thoughout the day. It has been worse the last few days since the reality of a new baby seems to have hit home and the novelty of DH being home has worn off. As soon as I start to feed A he wants to be picked up and then loses it when I don't. Last night he was such a toad that I yelled at him and actually shut him into his room for a few minutes because I couldn't take it anymore. The phrase 'I will give you something to cry about' entered my mind several times and I have never been so close to smacking him. He is also telling me NO all the time and doing silly things like spilling drinks on purpose/ripping books.
PAP, glad you survived the night on your own. Not sure how I am going to manage when DH is back at work next week. LOL at N's cereal wobbley! We are currently getting milos/snacks etc rejected because they are too hot/cold/wrong plate/cup grrrr. Very frustrating.
JaZaH, Glad that J's lump was nothing sinister. I ended up making a Mei Tai sling and it is fantastic! I don't know how I survived having a baby without one. And best of all, it only cost me $18
Trill, wish I could have a good dose of phernagen! I still haven't managed to have a nap since A was born. DH is back at work next week and I am losing hope of catching up on any sleep.
Clare, yay for the review! Hopefully L's ears are o.k and it is just some spring bug she can politely spread to everyone on the plane lol
Ginger, I suspect that it will be a long long time before I get any time to myself again. I didn't get away from W until he was 8 months old and then it was only for two hours. I sometimes think we were crazy having another when life was in such a good routine with just W. But she is adorable!
It's been 7 years since i've had any 'me' time - lol. (that's not true - i head down to the shops for a couple of hours some Saturdays :) )
arte - Does W have his own doll? Perhaps he could do everything you do with A with his own doll. Arent' you a clever chickie making your own sling. I can't even sew a button on properly. :rolleyes:
my dh reckons Hannah is going to be a problem child. She can't sit still!! She's always climbing on something, or touching something she shouldn't. She exhausts me no end, but i love her to bits!! I try to explain to him that there aren't too many toddlers who will just happily sit still for hours on end. He seems to think J and Z were quiet little children who didn't get up to mischief - I think it was just too long ago for him to remember, he's wiped it from his memory!lol.
arte - spilling drinks and ripping books oh gosh its like u were chanelling me when u were typing that!! i find when feeding W asha really enjoys it if i sing a nursery rhyme with her or read her a book.. the doll idea is great too then your W can do all the things you do with his own little baby :)

well i havent called in reinforcements this eve - Jacob seems a lot better today (no vomits yet) so i am thinking i will chance it alone again...a friend has offered to pop over if i need her, so i guess if it goes totally pear shaped like last night i can call her. i cant wait to see DH tomorrow - he better not tell me he is tired, it wont go down very well!
the weather is so lovely today, i just went out to pick up a few things after deciding today would be a home day and i am regretting that i didnt go out for along walk today
tomorrow is my movie day - yippeeee! i am seeing 500 days of summer - hope it is good.
Arte - i am not v good at sleepin gwhen J does but i did find i was more able to catch up on sleep when DH wasnt here... i do nap sometimes when they are both sleeping - i love the calm that decends on the house when they both go to sleep
i am feeling so like a mum this week - i made meatloaf the other day and shepherds pie today (used beef on mon and lamb today for some variety) - both meals i have never cooked before but really typical family food dont you think. N was hoovering the meatloaf so i guess i will add that to my regular repertiore even though it isnt really my kinda thing. i have also been eating dinner with him this week as DH is away and heloves that so i think we will try to do it a few times a week (usually we eat later when they are in bed).
did any of you find it harder to be motivated to lose the baby weight after bub 2? i just dont have the energy to exercise nor the will power to stop eating crap - as i have my 2nd choc scotch finger...
:doh: :doh: Rainy I feel like a big idiot for even suggesting a night time gym class to you, I forget you have your hands full & you are breastfeeding! Maybe for now you will have to stick to a walk every day etc, just to get you out of the house & put a stop on the SAHM/boredom blues.
Noni - Have you been to Ikea lately or is someone you know going anytime soon? As M drove us absolutely bonkers going in & out of the fridge & pantry, till we discovered Ikea's fridge & pantry locks, gone are the days of M going in & out for food lol.

Yep PP, that's why I am 25 kg heavier now than I was before I had kids. After I had Lindsay the weight just fell off and I was pre pg weight by the time he was 3mths old, but it just got harder and harder after each one to get it off again. I completely understand now why a lot of women don't loose the weight till their kids are quite old.
Arte, this stage will pass soon, he's just trying to find his place in the family again. He's gone from having the two of you completely dote on him to having to share you with Amelia and even attention because he's been naughty is better than nothing at all kwim? Not that you aren't giving him attention, it's just not your undivided attention now. If you need to give him time out in his room while he's like that then do it - that's better than you completely losing your cool and it gives him a quiet place to cool down as well :hug: Oh I meant to ask you the other day too when you said you couldn't get wondersuits - I don't mind getting you some and sending over to you if you really wanted them so you could layer up etc.
Jaz, I didn't get anything done at all bar the washing up and two loads of washing :redface: but in my defence I did spend 4hrs doing avatars. I reckon they get memory loss when it comes to remembering what the older kids did at this age too :rolleyes: I don't reckon Alister is any more full on than what the girls ever were, but he does different stuff to what they did and it seems worse because you have more kids LOL

I wasn't here because I was at the drs with 2 children (!!!) DD1 has developed a *lovely* (read: hideous) case of conjunctivitis with her usual appalling timing and the dr impressed upon me that she must not go back to school for several days which is a right PITA because I have my appt with the breast surgeon tomorrow and besides how is keeping her at home with me in my immune-depressed state better than sharing the love around at school??? I'd much rather ten other children get it than me LOL.

Oh it wasn't a solid 4hrs - there was a bit of farting around on here and on FB as well LOL. And yep, that's exactly it about where you life is at compared to back then. I have mum coming to little A's this week as DH will be starting night shift and I need someone to entertain Alister because I agreed to be an age group manager for Erin's group and it will be harder to juggle him with doing all that.
Oh no at the junky-eyetis! Apparently they took brolene ointment off the market for some reason and it was the best stuff ever for clearing it up quick smart I hope she doesn't have to have that long off school.

art- i hate to tell you this but i can count on one hand the number of naps i've had since j was born...
i look at jimmy now and i can't believe that lewis was just a little bit older when i fell pg with j iykwim? it just seems insane to me...i'm glad we did it now though, i just know i would never do it again though! lol
pap- yes the weight sure is sticking around and my appetite is full on all the time...

mm- you're not an idiot at all! i just know there's no way dh could cope without me. jimmy loves his long breastfeeds at night when lewis is in bed too, so it's nearly impossible for me to do anything at night unfortunately. i've been enjoying going for walks though, it's a good workout with the double pram.
dh just came home and is in the worst mood! him and lewis have gone for a ride on the dirtbike to have some secret mens' time so hopefully he's in a better mood when they get back!!!

Noni, renting is ok too...we had the roof-repairing men here this morning and it's going to be over $2K just to stop the roof from leaking :o. (Not to mention the head wound I got from :wall: when the terrible roof restoration sales man took over an hour to explain what a more competent person could've said in 15 mins). So yeah, I get to paint the room, but there downsides too...BTW do you have playdough? That's a great entertainer, I strap Missy E into her highchair and off she goes with it. Contain and entertain LOL. I like MM's suggestion of the fridge lock. Our fridge is in the laundry so Missy E can't get to it but I know she'd be obsessed by it if she could.
PP So glad your friend turned up right at the perfect time! Don't worry about the OCD...Missy E is very particular about amazing infinitely unimportant details, I think it's a toddler trait. It went on for nearly half an hour the other morning after i put the honey on the toast BEFORE the vegemite, instead of the otherway round. :rolleyes:

Arte - I believe that phrase has actually passed my lips when DD1 was a toddler (even tho we are a non-smacking family it summonsed itself up from the recesses of my own childhood). Nothing wrong with a well-timed time out IMO. And yes, A is utterly gorgeous! Sounds like you are falling in love all over again :).
BTW I agree the MeiTai's are fantastic, I had the slightly fancier version (with clips not ties) from the ABA with DD1 and used it all the time. You're very clever/resourceful to have sewn one!
All this complaining about baby fat! Geez I won't even tell you how many kgs the steroids have gifted me with. It's more than a baby's worth, anyway...
Trill -that ointment sounds fabbo! As it is I came away with ointment AND eye drops AND steroid eye drops (aaah! The steroids are chasing me, I can't get away LOL). First time we've ever had the steroid eye drops so I think it's a pretty bad case, kwim?
