Will you be coming back this way on the way home? You should have let me know because I would have found the time. It's scary driving though water like that. I've done it once a few years ago when I was alone with the kids - just Lindsay and Erin at the time and it's not something I'd like to do again in a hurry. So if you are coming back this way, let me know and I will come and meet up with you in West Wyalong.

Arte, glad you enjoyed your Christmas when it finally came! I was thinking about you wondering how it all went.
Well I went to the hospital to get some liquid drained out of my back - they got 200mls out and there's still some sloshing around in there . I suspect I'll be back next week doing it all again. Dr wouldn't show me the needle...apparently it was Big. After that we dragged ourselves up Rundle Mall...I needed another post surg bra & that was all the excuse I needed to go to DJs...talk about a madhouse in there. We got a cute little plate and cup that says "We love Santa" with all these cute paintings on it for leaving the Big Man's cookies out but not much else...oh except for the bag of 20 dusk votives for $20 (all my favorite scents). Gotta love that. Wanted to get some mini splaydes but they were all sold out in town. Me and my splaydes LOL. We were in Toys R Us looking for playstation gadgets and I felt a huge twinge of sadness walking thru the baby area with all the gorgeous things for bubbas... Still it was nice to get out to the shops with DH and no crabby bored kids in tow for a change.

MD, I had to google splaydes lol. I have secretly desired a spork for years but DH HATES them with a passion so I have been to embarrassed to ever admit it lol. Yucko at the back liquid, but good call not to see the needle.
Today W woke at 8am, no nap all day, ran the entire 1/2 hour evening walk and still wasn't ready for bed until 9pm! I am sure it is not normal! Any suggestions for getting him to bed earlier? We have mostly cut the day nap but if he does have a nap even for an hour we can't get him to bed before 10pm. It is frustrating, we need a bit of kid free time at night to unwind.
OMG MD! They make MINI splaydes? I had no idea they made small ones. I think I will have to indulge and find myself some LOL. I have seen those needles they use for aspirating fluid and they are big. Think horse size That is a lot of fluid they got though. Do you feel better after having it taken out? Are you allowed to wear underwire at all or do you have to have soft cups at this stage? If you can only have soft cups I can recommend triumphs Endless Comfort - I live in them and they are great.
Arte, I have no idea what to suggest hun. Some kids just dont' need a lot of sleep unfortunately, which is crap I know when all you want is a bit of adult time at night. Maybe you could try waking him earlier and see if that works?
MD - I can imagine that needle would have been huge!!
Arte - sorry no idea on the sleeping. Apparently my BIL was like that, he would refuse naps at day care and the carers would be really excited when they got him to have one (like every 3 months) and then he would be up to 11pm that night. He does sleep now though..... Awfully jealous of the 8am wake up though.

Well we have been working on our reward chart here. She has been pretty good at day sleeps, although either DH or I has had one with her each day this week. She also gets a star if she stays in bed all night, not so much success with that one, this morning she wanted to hop in the spare room with me at 5am and I refused to let her so neither of us got any more sleep after that. If it was the occasional time I wouldn't mind, but she's been doing it for months and it's such a pain when we have people staying carrying her mattress through the house in the middle of the night so she can sleep on the floor in our room. At least this week we have progressed to a 5am request instead of the 11:30pm we had last week.
We have had a lot of success with bedtimes this week though. We straight out said that Mummy and Daddy would only come in one time each after we put her to bed. The first night there was a lot of whinging and we did one more visit after quite a while but since then she has been good. I went in twice tonight, but only because DH had gone to visit his parents so he missed bedtime.
K and I braved town this morning with all the crazy tourists. So many people!! We got a couple of things (including a special light that looks after her in her room), but the main thing was getting out of the house so DH and FIL could start the new fence! All the posts are concreted in now which is so good. Will finish it off when we get back from Canberra.
Going up there tomorrow for about a week. Hoping to get some quality kid free time, might check out the luxury movie seats. There isn't anything I really need at the shops, but I'm sure I will have a bit of a wander around. We are taking both K and her cousin swimming on Thurs morning which will be fun. Hoping to get some laps in while Granny swims with Miss K.
And everyone keep your fingers crossed for DH on Thursday - he is going to a car auction and we really want one of the cars. So hoping to be coming back in separate cars (I bags the one without the small whinging child....)
MD eewww at the big needle, I hope that isn't something that has to happen often?? woo hoo on shopping with no kids..... so envious lol.
Cally good luck with the car. we have a reward chart here too. Good work on getting her in to bed, lets hope its not to much longer before she is staying in there all night.

Arte I wish I had some suggestions for you, I would go mad without some me time at night. L got a bug collector too, his is more like a bug habitat though and has a night light and all lol. There is a bug vacuum you can buy too which I want to get lol.
We put L in undies yesterday, had one accident about 10 mins after putting them on. He told us he needed to go to the toilet and we found the big yellow puddle on the way lol. He did do a poo on the toilet after that though, we were all so excited lol. He still isn't eating dinner and seems to eat less and less each day, not real sure what to do about it? He still has loads of energy. We have started him on some multi vitamins until we can get him to eat properly. Still having loads of tantrums tho they do seem to be getting less dramatic lmao.

Oz, W is living on fresh air and sunshine atm, he eats maybe half a peice of fruit, half a peice of bread, and a couple of bits of bugger-all all day. I think our section has been completely de-bugged, but he still wants me to find a huge snail today lol
Cally, love the avatar! Sounds like your bedtimes are getting better. If we put W to be when he is any less than dead tired we are up for the next two hours putting him back to bed.
MD, that bra sounds sexy! Why do they have to make them beige? Couldn't they at least do a black or something so you could feel a bit more glamorous.
thanks for all the advice. He used to graze all day and still eat dinner then when dinner dropped off we didn't worry as he was still grazing but he just seems to be eating less and less, he isn't even interested in all his fave foods. Like I said he still has loads of energy so I am not real worried its just been declining since he turned two. I am sure it is just a phase though so will just keep offering.
Oz, that sounds about the same as here. We do eat healthy and haven't indulged any tanties (and there have been many lol) but I think it is an attention thing because he has been acting up for attention when DH is around (even though he gets heaps anyway). So at dinner time DH is always badgering him to eat more/making aeroplanes etc and I think it is making it far worse but DH doesn't think it is a problem. But when he is away W just sits there and eats, not much but without a fuss.
MP, you sound so busy you make me tired lol.
Cally, forgot to say Yay for the fence, you will love the freedom of having a safe secure play area.
Trill, W was the same as Erin and A with the potatos, they always made him gag. It has only been in the past couple of months that he has started to have a nibble on them. I never forced the issue though because if he was gagging on them then obviously they weren't his favourites lol.
