Not so much whinging here, but somehow he has the idea that this house is a democracy and everything is open to debate and compromise! eg

Me: Please don't race the (large, loud) truck on the lino while A is sleeping
W: I will just drive it slow and quiet

Me: it is time to leave the snails alone now
W: I will just touch the shell then

MM, I also can't believe they are turning 3 this year! W is going to be a big Kindy kid soon!

Cally, sounds like you a making a bit of progress with the naps. It is slow going isn't it!

Not sure if the star chart is anything to do with the behaviour turn around, but it is certainly making him feel good about himself - we were out walking the other day and he was telling me he was a real good boy and has lots of stars on his chart at home. He is very proud of the chart.
