Had a minor argument with DH this morning - apparently asking him to fold up less than a load of washing and put it away while he is home sick for the day was unreasonable. I did point out that I also have a cold and that it was 10 minutes of things I wouldn't have to do tonight. I got an email about 9:30 saying he had cleaned the house (I'm assuming he meant tidied as the housecleaner will be there tomorrow) so I'm hoping that means he sees my point of view.... He would never ask me to do anything while I was home sick (yeah, because I just get on and do it because I am FEMALE!!)
Ginger - glad the mastistis has cleared up. How is J going with the weaning? I'll certainly have a look at the FB group if you put photos up!
Mp - good luck with the sleeping issues, you had a bit of an improvement after the nurse came didn't you?
MD - big hugs out your way.
-
hi girls!
Cally: oh dear! hopefully he was just hoping his 'man flu' would give him a chance to veg out all day LOL! hope you guys can cuddle and makeup when you get home.
G: i would check the pics out! and i am also up for a playdate! i am not very melbourne savvy...but do know where the coll childrens farm is...although prolly a bit too far for you?!
hmmm i have used quick reply and can't remember anything LOL! will BBL....
love to you all!!!
-
Ginger, I will look if you post. I just saw your pics of L in the lifejacket - so cute! J is adorable too.
Cally, hope the man-flu passes quickly. A couple of months ago I had a slight cold - took a lozange. DH got the same thing and had a day off work and lived on cold and flu pills!
Is there some way to do a reply that shows more than the last page of posts?
MD, so sorry about your friend :(
-
Hiya ladies, thanks everyone for your hugs & love.
Am having a mega-hard time writing this job app...GAH! :wall: DH is staying home tomorrow to give me some more time and also because L's funeral is tomorrow afternoon and we have no CC. Dental surgery Thurs so it's not like I can even work on it then. Missy E is getting clingy because I've been so absent/distracted since the end of last week.
Ginger, special woohoo for you- hope that's the last you ever see of the mastitis.
OK, better get back to it, just wanted to post to let you all know I'm ok despite hard week. :grouphug:

hey arte, the only way that i can figure out so far is with QR. and then you only get what ever is already on the page...*off to investigate*
MD: oh babe, i soo dont envy you on the job app. i really dislike those things. basically i go by, whatever i would feel comfy saying in an interview (in terms of my abilities and vision for future development) i put in. i do make it sound it sound really spesh and important, but always keep in mind that i need to feel confident enough to answer it and explain further in my interview ITMS.
good luck gorgeous!
-
ahhh ok ARTE! found it!! basically if you 'go advanced' then it all comes up...(instead of just doing QR).
-
Cass, normally I don't have too many problems with them, but they have changed from being based on the Job Description to being based on this very abstract sounding "capabilities" like... "harnesses information and opportunities" and "commits to action" and (my personal favorite) "engages with risk and shows personal courage".
-
MD my dear, all you need to do is talk the talk ;) Once you get into it, the words will come to you
Feeling a bit crappy atm - had a wisdom tooth pulled today that was starting to become a nuisance and it is just starting to feel really sore.
-
trill- ouchies! hope the pain eases up a bit. did you only have the one wisdom tooth?
md- good luck with job ap, no bb for you today! LOL
cally- my dh is the worst for that sort of stuff. when we all had gastro he just stayed in bed in the spare room all day, and i was sick and had to look after 2 sick kids! how's your dh today?
i will put some pics in our fb group today later when i'm at dad's house (his comp is much faster than my one, damn living in these hills!) LOL
i'm going off for a couple of hours today- getting my eyebrows waxed and am thinking i will get a massage if i have time. we have a wedding on friday so i need nice brows! LOL
it will be nice to get off the mountain today as it is freezing and thay are saying it might even snow here today :)
coll childrens farm would prob take about an hour for me- but would be longer in peak hour traffic so it might be tricky. i guess it would all depend on weather and time of day iykwim? but i could definitely make it work. otherwise any sort of playground, playcentre along the eastern freeway/eastlink kind of area? i know there is one that ange has been to a few times with bb people that she reckons is great called billylids in hawthorn. i've never been but it might be worth investigating further? hawthorn is not too far for me as we actually live about 5 mins from the very end of canterbury road so anything on this side is easy.
-
Trill, you have my complete sympathy - that will be me tomorrow...not a wissy but a big one up the back...it will be a relief to get the rotten stinking thing (literally) out, but not fun paying the $700 bill!!! Just adds to the pain really
Ginger, looking fwd to seeing more photies!
-
G: we can do hawthorn! DH works at the uni on glenferrie rd., so no doubt i can even scab a lift of him. otherwise i am more than happy to train it in or drive etc! leila's never been to a playcentre either so could be LOADS of fun for her!!
MD: ahhhh abstract to the max. as the for the risk question: write, 'just call me evil keneival...'. sorry, not much help, but with those kinda questions just let the creativity flow. give an example of how you BELIEVE in risk taking (basically they want to know if you can take executive decisions and want to know if you can and have followed through with them with success). i so dont like this kinda stuff, and what's funny is that neither do they LOL! dont know why they havent found better ways of doing SC.
-
MD - oh, we're in the process of changing over to those 'capability based job descriptions'. So confusing! My boss is not impressed with them.
MD & Trill - hugs to those teeth!
Well DH I think was feeling a bit guilty..... The house was so tidy when I got home yesterday, he'd done all the dishes and made the beds and there was nothing out of place. Was very impressed. I of course made a big deal out of how much he had done - gotta feed those egos!!
Well I am using the Advanced feature for reply so I can see everything, but when I type across on the right hand side of the box I can't see the words (they are hidden by the emoticons)
Ginger - enjoy those few hours to yourself!
-
MD and Trill, bummer about the teeth. I was blessed to have no wisdom teeth, am hoping the children won't have them either (seems likely with their little pea-sized heads like me lol)
Cally, yay for some DH guilt! Man-flu sucks.
Someone asked about my birthday - guess it was pretty good. We were coming back from our holiday, so went to the beach in the morning, then stopped half an hour up the road at one of those indoor play centers for 3 hours (while DH and I alternatively ducked out to the shops), then managed to get both kids to sleep in the car for an hour of travel. Then it went a bit south when we stopped to pick up the cat - both kids woke up and the next hour of travel was hard going, not helped by the lovely scent of cat puke/poop that was wafting in from the back lol
Wish I could come to the Melbourne meet up.
-
girls i have put some pics in the fb sep 07 group
-
Well i"m happy to report that I got my application in today...now to find out whether it was good or terrible.
Ginger, I'll check out FB next :) I'm getting my eyebrows waxed next week for the first time ever...I'm an eyebrow virgin LOL.
Cally, glad your DH got the guilts. Mine is going away for 2 weeks soon and is feeling guilty as hell about it so I'm getting all sorts of things done around the house right now! Tho TBH I'd rather just have him at home...
Arte - your birthday sounds great - except for the cat bit at the end.
I wish I could come to the Melb get together too.
Trill I had my tooth done today - under sedation but I don't know why I bothered as there was so much hassle finding a vein (they can only use one arm on me now) and then I was fully conscious and remember it all anyhow (I don't think he gave me the fat lady dose ). Anyway I had a whine about the pain level after my last wisdom tooth removal (removed a big chunk of bone too) so they have sent me home with the good pills! LOL How you feeling today?
-
Hey chicks, long time no type. It's hard when you fall out of the chat to slot back in, but i'll give it a crack!
An eyebrow virgin MD??? How have you manage thus far? ;) I Love having my eyebrows waxed. Your application, no doubt, will only reflect how wonderful you are. :) Better go look back and see what you are applying for.
Have been checking out FB pics. Nice looking lot of kids you ladies have. :D
Noni- A had a haircut huh? looks good. I think i'll cut Lu's it just too wild and she hates brushing it!
G- Loving the pics, Mackenzie is a talented lady.
Yep Billy lids is good. They have a little ladybug ride that goes every half hour. They ring a bell and all the kids come running and have a turn on the ladybugs. Parking can be challenging so get there early. Wish i could come! I'll be home in August/Sep if you meet up again. :)
All good in the jungle. Lu was supposed to be having a nap yesterday but pulled out my draws, climbed up to the top, got down the craft box and glued a mural of pompoms and icypole sticks on my pillow?! Nice.
I've had a few lonely days, but mostly it's been good.
Will try and slot back in.....
-
Oh no MD! a chunk of bone? I'm glad they didn't have to do that this time round for you! Mine is fine, I hate having furry teeth from not being able to brush that side yet. Its ok now though, ached like a bastard tuesday night but was good yesterday. I only have one more to go and all the wisdom teeth are out. G, I had all of them, but one got an abcess so it had to come out a few years ago, then I decided to have them all out because I was biting the side of my cheek all the time.
I will have to remember to check out those FB pics G.
Hey Ange!!! I had to laugh when I read your FB post about Lu, that would have been so funny to see. I bet she was so proud of herself ROFL.
MD, I bet your application rocked! Let us know how you go.
Cally, I hope you're feeling better
Arte, have the kids readjusted to being home again yet?
C, I am loving your belly pics on FB, they are really good. You should have some enlarged and put up on the wall.
-
MD I can't believe you have never had your eyebrows waxed!! I love having mine done. I am sure your application was super!!
G those photos are AMAZING. She is awesome, although she did have to extremely handsome models.
JM I love those pics of Lu cooking. She is just so gorgeous.
Arte ewwww at the cat puke and poop lol, what a way to spend your birthday!
Cally nice work on the house!! Might have to try guilt with my DH lol.
Trill how is the tooth going? I had all 4 wisdom teeth done, I remember waking up with blood all over my pillow and freaking out lol.
I use the advanced feature to reply, I dont like how the names aren't so highlighted tho iykwim, I get confused as to who said what lol. I am having a mass brain fart and have no idea what I was going to say, I am taking that as my cue to go to bed lol.
