Trill, that's just gorgeous & I love that you are a co-conspirator! Also huge YAY for the approval on the drugs...I know a young mum who was lucky to be able to start this chemo that's fantastic for her type of advanced bowel cancer only because it was approved in the last Budget - just in the very nick of time for her. Though it's terrible that they should even have to pay, kwim?

I know! They had to pay for the radiotherapy treatment which was $100 per session but they could claim it back. With this I don't think they can because it is already reduced plus it is only new. Oh and he did get in touch with the Cancer Care people you suggested the other day too. Someone at the hospital gave him some info on it and he got the nurses to call them for him and they have been really helpful.

trill- i'm so thrilled your mum is getting married! and i love the 'up yours' sentiment. it's wicked!!
what kind of ring are you going to choose? all i can say is Wow!!!
how's all the uni work going?

md- hope E is ok. what does the dr think is wrong? not an ear infection i presume? poor little miss.
i hope you get your massage soon. i'm actually going to book one in for myself for the next couple of days. my back is really sore so i'm going to go for a remedial one.

mp- sorry to hear about your grandfather. how is melb treating you? did you get hit hard by the storms? weirdly the whole thing missed us. we just got a bit of rain. very strange as we normally cop the weather pretty hard up here.

isadora- how are you going? forgot to say i love your new name. lewis has an electronic dora toothbrush that he loves! he sings 'dora, dora, dora' in the bathtub when he wants me to get it LOL

girls if anyone is looking for somewhere to get some winter clothes we went to cotton on kids yesterday and got some fantastic bargains. a heap of their long sleeve/pant PJs were $10 and other designs were 2 for $40. they're lovely and soft. we also got lewis some fantastic thick trackie pants which i am loving, and some other (not as good) trackies 2 for $20. i'm actually thinking of going back and getting some more of the nicer trackies as i like them so much. he's in size 4 from there now!

i was so bored that i ended up going to the shopping centre nearby that has a great kids' play area. i grabbed myself a coffee and let the kids play. jimmy had an absolute ball, i'm loving having 2 toddlers much more than having a baby and toddler iykwim?

lewis managed to steal a simpsons toy from Borders while i was looking at books- worth $17.95 ooppps! i didn't notice till we got out to the car and there was no way i was going back!

Trill, I'm glad your Mum's partner is getting some extra support, the earlier the better and they are a very compassionate group of people.

Ginger, nothing wrong with that! I've resorted at times going to macca's - ah bad - for the same reason, our local one has a pretty good play area for this age. From here on in they will play more and more...Missy E is really playing "with" and not alongside her little FDC friends these days, it's so cute watching them together (lots of dolly action LOL such girly girls).

OK went back and fortunately got in to see my dr who listened to everything I had to say. Even tho Missy E looked fine (she's been ok most mornings, it all degenerates in the arvo/evening/night). It's looking like it could be some transitory virus, her tummy is very noisy but the dr was able to palpate her whole abdomen with no apparent pain, checked she wasn't constipated etc. So if we have another hellish night tonight, I have forms for blood tests & an xray tmrw. But she's been eating a bit more today and no foulness yet so fingers crossed she's getting over it.

MP, sorry to hear your grandfather isn't doing well. At least you are back home to be near your mum

Trill, that is cool your mum is getting married. That will be a nice memory for your bro. Ikwym about him not being in the stepfather role for you, my mum had a partner from when I was about 12 until I left home and I never considered him to be anywhere near a paternal role.

MD, good luck, hope that Miss E is feeling better tonight.

Ginger, lol at L pinching a toy, haven't had that yet but I sure I would if we had shops here lol

Now that we are past the crazy tantrums, we have moved on to hitting/yelling. Driving me crazy. Even moreso with his smartarse comments like: Me: do you want to make mum angry?, W: yes, I do actually! Grrrrr.
Also going nowhere with the toilet training - he will take off his nappy and pee in the laundry though!
A has just started on solids. So far not a big fan of veges but loves to suck on bit of meat and nearly launched out of my arms when W was waving a marmite Crustkit around today - she got it and sucked the whole thing down to a soggy pulp.

will have to see Cotton On Kids now....do they have ugg boots??

Arte: Leila is the same. she is also into rebuffing me with "yes, i will be norti mama"

MD: hope miss E has a stern talking to her guts tonight and it all heals quickly whatever it is!! (also, i am soooo EXCITED about our holiday!!!).

AFM: had a great weekend! although the storm was a bit hairy. the place we were at couldnt hold the ice and skylights broke (plasticy ones) and all the art got hammered...leila loved eating the ice though lol! i havent even bothered to check the car though...not much to be done really if it is damaged IYKWIM.

hello lovelies I just wanted to stop by and say hello. I am struggling to keep up lately.
I hope your all well, I have been thinking about you all.
Things are mostly good here. DD is sick with a nasty chest infection at the moment, the AB's seem to be doing the trick today though. So far L just has a runny nose so fingers crossed he fends it off with out AB's. We are driving to Sydney on Thursday, cross your fingers for me that both kids behave.
Best be off, we have had some pretty rough nights lately so I am buggered.

Lol Ginger – what a crack up! He is such a gorgeous boy!
Best of luck with the trip Oz – was wondering how you were!
How are the assignments going Trill?
Clare – wtg on the midwife visit – how exciting! I am thinking of going to the magnolia market this weekend – have you been?
AFM – my grandfather passed away on Sunday so it has been a tough few days. We had the funeral on Monday and then everyone was at my place. I am still v upset about it all so forgive me for not writing too much. My mum, J, DH and I were with him when he died – and it was v peaceful. My SIL is also back in hospital… and will now be unable to BF my nephew due to meds.. I offered to express for them but the MACH nurse said this would not work since J is 8 months so with diff needs andbm properties. She is hoping to access the milkbank I think.
Anyway as you can see I am having a buit of a rough time right now – so I will come back when my head is in a better place. Love to you all. xxx

Awwww hun I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandfather passing away. As much as you know they are in a better place now, it sure doesn't help to ease the sadness you feel. And I hope your SIL is well soon and back to feeding her little boy. The properties of the BM will be different, but surely a little bit will still be better than using formula if she cannot access the milk bank.

Assignments are going well. We are in the middle of another group one and I have had to put a fire under them because all the first responses we did were all written properly in correct academic writing and this second lot have all be sent in using dot points only! Only myself and 3 others out of the 10 did it properly and it got me really cranky because for each assignment 2 of us have to be group leaders and compile the responses into the one answer and having it done that way only makes it harder for the leaders because now they have to go and construct it all properly. We only just got a pass with 60% for the first group response task and I would like to do a hell of a lot better this time. Sorry for venting about it to you all, you probably aren't terribly interested LOL.

Big big MP. So sorry to hear your grandfather passed, it sounds like he went downhill very quickly which must have been a shock. Sending you a big bubble of love to get you through. Also sorry to hear your sis is back in hospy. If she wants to BF ask for a lactation consultant for her - it could be that they can adjust the meds or she can pump and dump until she is better and able to have another go at BFing. Also, I'm not buying the line about your EBM not being sufficient - again I think you should check with a lactation consultant - also if you contact an ABA counsellor, they have a specialist breastfeeding library so will be able to provide you with some evidence-based information about the safety etc. Hang in there sweetie.

Trill, the jury is still kinda out...she was up again last night, but I think she was cranky at not coming into our bed again and not in pain...she ate tea last night but is still picking at food...I have an xray & blood test forms but am going to give it a couple more days before foisting all that on her. Have been loading her up on yoghurt, going to find some kids probiotics for her today...it can't hurt.

bTW - always keen to hear about your academic adventures. I think there's a lot of shock and horror during first year as people adjust to what exactly the academic expectations are. The youngies seem to be the most shocked tho...

Ginger - I cracked right up when I read about L making off with the cat! hehe Cat burglar.

Cass - I am living vicariously thru you as I always right from the start wanted a homebirth - but it wasn't to be in this lifetime anyway! So lovely to have the MW come to you.

Arte, we are also having hitting/pushing/shoving/shouting/scowling. She had a brief experiment with spitting last week too (I ignored that one out of existance). *sigh* charming isn't it? No smartarse comments though I'm getting plenty of those with DD1. Just make sure you don't smirk visibly if he says somethign really funny.
