Hi girls!
MD: so back in the radelaide then? that is pretty funny about H's run-in with the hairbrush...'cause i did the EXACT same thing when i was a young teen...and boy did my hormones not like that bit of embarrassment lol! unfortunately my mum didnt save her laughing for a quiet private moment and was in tears with laughter as she tried to extract it from my hair lol! it was pretty funny though...
G: man, i dont have an etag. we are old school in too many ways...
Cally: ohh the holidays sound lovely! we are planning a road trip for late october and boy am i looking forward to it! need to see the beach and sand me thinks.
AFM: well am dealing with yet another cold melbourne day. ho hum. yesterday was soo brilliant with sunshine and warmth...man, when is winter going to end??!! arrghhh! thankfully DH is cooking up some spag bog for dinner...always a hearty treat!
Leila is at kindy today, so am at home with DH and Marta. will go over to a friends house later though and vege out on her couch drinking our booby-booster smoothies that i make (she needs to pump for EBM for her baby...and well, marta is just a machine and i need to keep up the supply to suit lol).
-
Just popping in to say Happy Birthday to the Divine Miss Maddie and our sweetie Sarah!! Have a lovely day girls!
Cass, DD will be well pleased when I tell her she was not alone in her moment of hairbrush horror LOL. I want a boobie booster smoothie too...although in my case it would turn into a butt booster I'm sure LOL. I wonder if you can patent the secret recipe then market it to Boost Jooce and make a fortune???

MD: the booby booster smoothy is delish and totally works!!! my friend that has to pump like there is no tomorrow for her son said that for the first time she was able to express that same night two whole bottles!!! and well, as for butt boosting...hmmm there are blueberries in it....that's healthy right? LOL! of course the honey etc *might* offset the goodness lol!

My BIL is missing. He was at work on Friday but hasn't answered his phone since then and didn't show for work yesterday or today. DH is driving down soon to try to find him. He has had depression in the past and although no one has said it out loud, we are worried that being unable to stick with the new job (chronic sleep issues) might be one failure too many. Hopefully he is just at home asleep/sick and it is worry for nothing.
-
Oh no Arte! I hope DH can find him and there is a really simple explanation for being out of contact
-
OMG Arte - thinking of you. keep us updated...
will pop back on later to read more and update. xxx to all.
-
i hope everything is ok arte, let us know as soon as you know anything
-
Arte, thinking of you. Hoping with everything I have that there's a happy reason for BIL not to answer his phone. xxx
-
Found him. He is alright. It was the crash and burn that we knew would be coming after he started the job - hard call because you don't want to be negative nancy and say he can't do it, but then you also know that it won't work out and he will have to deal with the fallout when it all comes crashing down.
DH is going to spend a bit of time with him tonight. Thanks for the support everyone xx

Arte - so glad that he is OK
Happy Birthday to Maddie, Sarah and Asha!!
MD - We almost had a similar hairbrush incident last week, although it was with Thomas, the battery powered engine. Why on earth she would think it was fun to drive him across her head, who knows! Luckily no scissors were required, but Thomas did end up with some lovely blond locks afterwards!
We're also getting a lot of 'I need..' Usually food related and generally not fruit or vegetable! Although on the weekend it was sushi and we were able to satisfy that need!
-
hi girls!
Arte: oh gosh. i am sorry for your BIL. that is tough xx
Cally: i'm with Miss K...i NEED sushi lol.
AFM: watching Oprah atm...totally love Nate makeovers lol. as you can see i have nothing too interesting going on lol.
-
Arte that is such a relief that he's OK. I hope he isn't low for too long.
MD, I had to laugh at the hairbrush incident. We had that happen once and it wasn't fun for anyone. I also remember when i was about 8 or 9 and we were visiting by Aunt and her kids and my cousin had one of those Twirl and Curl barbie dolls - remember the ones that came with the curler you popped on her hair and you clicked the button and it would curl barbie's hair? Well we thought it would be a top idea to twirl and curl my hair with it and having such long and uber thick hair it worked a real treat  I can't really remember if I had to have it cut out, but I know it took forever to get it out.
-
Sounds like the object stuck in hair is some sort of rite of passage lol, I did it too. MD, you did well not to laugh, my mum would have laughed until she cried lol
Cally, you mentioned a series of kids books a while ago? Meg or mog or something? Can you remind me what they are called? We need some new books - if I read Hairy Maclary again I am going to smash my head into the wall!
OMG at the attitude of these little people! So glad I haven't come across that (yet!!) We are getting "I wish....(I had some ice-cream, I was going to the park etc)" which is quite cute. We seem to be on a smooth patch again, the latest batch of tantrums have run their course. Life is much easier without constant meltdowns! He is getting himself dressed again now instead of having to pin him down and force clothes on him. A much better start to the day. And he has slept though 4 nights in a row!!! But I suspect that has much to do with the cough medicine he has had before bed (he actually does have a cold lol).
Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day! OMG how good is it to have good weather! We went outside and planted my new garden. Raining again today but at least it was a taste of summer.
-
happy birthday luella!
lewis and i spent the arvo baking a birthday cake for him yesterday, got the cake in the oven and then all of a sudden his face just blew up and was all swollen and puffy and his eyes were weeping. so, i had to chuck both kids in the car and head down to the hospital and turn the oven off on my way out the door. the hospital were awesome and suspect he has a severe case of hayfever, gave him antihistimine and he is doing much better today. can't say the same thing for the cake though.
-
Arte, they are called Meg and Mog, they are about a witch and her cat. E really enjoyed reading them as well. Glad to hear that the storm seems to have passed for you too  You must be feeling a bit saner now too.
G, it's a bugger time of the year for hayfever. I have felt myself start to get sneezy and pop a pill before it takes old LOL. I look outside and the trees are just overloaded with pollen this year. I hope it settled down quickly for him though.
-
G, that must have been scary! I always hope there is no incident like that out of working hours because there is no medical care here when the Dr is shut - have to go over an hour for medical help.
Trill, how is lambing going? It is terrible here - I have heard estimates of over a million lambs dying from the bad weather. They are even losing the ewes. It is quite sad driving into town and seeing the wool bags full of slinky lambs at the gates.
